Acrobat 8 won't activate...says "internet connection not detected"

I purchased Acrobat 8 Standard from a computer store c/w serial #. Downloaded no problem but I can't activate it. It says there is no internet connection...under the "activate by phone" option it gives me an activation number but the "activate by phone" option is no longer available. I'm trying to get an answer through Adobe Chat...no response yet. Any suggestions?

Acrobat 8 is not compatible with any current modern OS, and is no longer supported by Adobe.

We upgrade from SQL 3008 R2 to SQL 2012 SP1. Had trouble with Crystal Reports not opening reports. Information on the internet indicated that you had to reinstall Crystal Reports after upgrading SQL. We did a repair of Crystal Reports 2011. I have the box checked to check for updates when Crystal Reports starts. I am now getting INTERNET CONNECTION NOT DETECTED and the application will not check for updates. We have tried turning of the firewall and almost everything else we can think of. I have access to the internet from that server and IE9 works just fine. Can anyone help, please.

2008 loads OK on my other machines
XI loads fine on the machine in question.
I have been searching through the forums but no joy!
Is there a simple solution from the 2008 start up screen?

I have installed this driver from the Cannon website but when I connect the camera I get a message saying " Camera connection not detected" followed by an error message saying pscN109 has stopped working.
Then a Microsoft message saying no soloution found. Can anyone help me?

The reason I posted it on the Toshiba forum is that whilst I have downloaded the correct driver for Vista but there is a compatibilty issue between it and Vista. Microsoft don't want to know as the Vista was supplied with the computer so they said contact the computer manufacturer

I'm having the same problem with this, only it happens with all add ons. I get error -228 when I try, every time.
I can't install through the add-on manager, from the add on site, or by saving the link on the site. I've tried downloading it in Firefox, Chrome, and IE to no avail.
I can, however, drag existing .xpi files into the add on manager and they will install just fine.
I've looked through all the available other documentation, including the two links suggested by TXGuy above and none of it has helped.

My TC is connected to my modem, the internet works fine on the computer, yet my airtunes is still flashing as well as my TC. In status it says internet connection is the problem and there is not a valid IP address. Any help?

Details, please. By "my airtunes" do you mean an AirPort Express base station? By "the internet works fine on the computer", do you mean when the Time Capsule is connected to the modem, or when the computer is connected to the modem?
If things work when the computer is connected to the modem but not when the Time Capsule is connected to the modem, you may need to reset your broadband modem to convince it to connect to a "new" device. Depending on the model of modem, that can be as easy as removing power for a few moments. If that doesn't work, remove power and wait 15 minutes. Further reset steps can involve pressing a "reset" button or removing a battery if the modem has one. In the worst case, your ISP may need to edit its settings to update to the MAC address of the new router.
If you have an AirPort Express with a flashing status light, connect your Mac to the Express with an Ethernet cable and use AirPort Utility to see why it's complaining.

Internet connection not waking up with ibook

Hi. I have an ibook G4 and connect to the internet via Airport Extreme, using a router (Xbox). This has been working perfectly for months. Then recently I had to change some settings on my router. Since then I've found that the ibook won't connect to the internet again after it goes to sleep without me opening and closing the applications several times. It has also suddenly disconnected in the middle of a session once or twice. I've also found that I can't change the configurations on my airport base station without plugging it directly into the ibook, which I didn't have to do before. So far it has all worked in the end, but I hate having no idea why this is happening in case one day it goes down and I can't get it back up again.
BTW, the airport connection itself seems to be fine.
Really grateful if anyone can help.

I'm having the same problem with my internet connection not waking up with the ibook...but I have not changed any settings on my router. Also, I didn't have this problem when I first got the machine - it just started doing this a week ago or so. Any ideas?

TS2621 From my iPad I get CannotConnect To The Server error message. The iPad is new and I have never received an email via the icloud acct. My PCM receives icloud mail, no problem. Internet connectivity not an issue.

From my iPad I get an error message "cannot connect to the server". Internet connection not the problem. No problem receiving mail from icloud on my PC. I think it was a set up issue. iPad is new and receives mail from hotmail no problem. It just will not connect to the icloud server.

I am having this same issue. I can access these accounts from computers, other locations on others' computers, but I cannot get the mail from one account on either my iPhone or iPad. I've deleted the account on the iPad and re-installed it, but it still will not receive mail.

As the error message says, you computer cannot connect to the network.
It is difficult for us to give advice since we do not know your network setup. Try the network diagnostics utility:
Open System Preferences -> Network ;
At the bottom of the window is a button labelled "Assist me", press it, then in the drop down panel press "Diagnostics" and inspect your network status.

the issue is i run windows 7, but acrobat x thinks im on windows vista for some reason.
the install goes all the way thru --and then gives the fatal error 1603.
indd, illustrator and photoishop are on without issue....
maybe there is a patch i need to try?

Suddenly, my MBP Won't get an internet connection through my routers

I've had my MBP 15" 2.4 for about three months now, and I've never had a problem connecting to the internet. This morning I booted it up, but when I went to get on a wireless connection it would connect, but still say I had no internet. I have two routers in my house - the main one on one side, and my old iMac in my room (my room is too far from the main router to get signal), and the MBP won't get internet from either. However, as you can see by me posting this topic, I'm getting clear internet through the ethernet cable. An error message in connecting to the wireless signal has also appeared a few times. Lastly, my MBP is running very slowly this morning, and there's lots of lag for the track pad.
At first, I thought it was the main router's problem. But since the iMac's Airport isn't providing internet connection either, it leads me to believe it's something with the MBP. I'm not sure what to do, and I'd greatly appreciate any help I could get.

Sorry to hear about the signal dropping. I don't have a solution but would like hear if anyone has an idea what's going on.
My situation is similar. I have an Airport Extreme (n) and the MBP would drop its connection to it randomly. I've gone to pains to change my phone from using any close freq to the wireless.

ITunes won't recognise my Internet connection

iTunes refuses to recognise my internet connection so won't let me download the latest Ipod updater.
I have run the diagnostics and it says to enable a network connection through "My Computer" but these are already enabled.
Any ideas?

I tried signing in on another account and I was able to restore my iPod. But now it keeps saying that iTunes is detecting an iPod in recovery mode, and that I need to restore it. ? I just did! It's an endless cycle.
Now my iPod won't even take me to the main screen. It just says "OK to disconnect" and "Do not disconnect"
