7) Done Repair Acrobat Installation
PLEASE HELP

Hello Bernd,
unfortunately, repair did not fix the problem.
Incidentally, there are others who have reported identical problems with the Help of other Adobe applications. The common denominator has been the installation of Chrome, which seems to be "hijacking" the Help.
I have Photoshop and Distiller installed, and both have the same problem with the Help. Unless Chrome is installed the help.html will not show up.
... would appreciate any pointers ...
Thanks
Loukas

    Hello AKA_TG,
There are manuals installed on your PC. You can find them at
    C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2010\manuals
    Hope this helps.
But of course these do not include anything like a complete set of manuals like in the 'old' days'. The only included manuals of much help to a beginner are the getting started and quick reference manuals.
    AKA_TG,
If you want a hardcopy, your only real option is to do a print of the LabVIEW Help. I have not done a print in a long while. What I tend to do is look at the release and upgrade notes to see what has changed and then look it up in the Help. I'll also open any new examples with Context Help turned on.

  • Acrobat 7.0 Help PDF

I have v. 7 and want to copy/paste some of its text into a Word document. I cannot find the A7.0 PDF help file on the adobe.com site and the Help function provides a window that you cannot copy. Help!

Use the help menu in Acrobat. The help file is about 280 pages or so of information. You may be able to find a PDF version of the help in the DOC folder of your Acrobat installation. To cut and paste text (assuming you have the fonts and such), you simply use the text select tool.

  • Acrobat XI Online Help

We are getting an "Online Help cannot be displayed." message when trying to access any of the Adobe Acrobat & Distiller menu options.  Through testing on our system we've narrowed down that this is happening because Adobe Acrobat XI is using an anonymous login to get to the Internet.  Is there anyway that we can configure this to use local system credentials instead of "anonymous"?

Not really.  It appears to be a limitation for Acrobat and Reader Help.  It's documented in a couple of places.

  • Problem with adobe acrobat/reader - please help!

    Hello,
My acrobat reader was fine and I was able to open the pdf files sent to me, then suddenly it just wouldn't open anything at all.  It went into open mode and just stayed there, and wouldn't let me close it.  Then I got a message saying "there is a problem with adobe acrobat/reader.  Please exit and try again".  I've done this lots of times and it still isn't working.
I would be very grateful for any help or suggestions.  I have windows 7, and as I said its all been fine up until now.
    Thanks.
    mspryce.

This is the Acrobat forum, not the Reader forum. You should check the reader forum. In the meantime, if you are not running AR9.3 or so, you should update. Prior versions before 9 are not designed for Win7 and that might be your issue -- you gave no indication of version.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 HELP!

I have created a fill-able form to be submitted by e-mail to my organization. However, when the form is sent out, the recipients are not able to submit. What is wrong with the form?
    Please help!

If you have the submit action set up so that the entire PDF is submitted, then the document has to be Reader-enabled for it to work with Reader versions prior to 11. To do this with Acrobat 9, select: Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader
Note that this is not sufficient for it to work in all cases since some people may not have working email clients set up or properly configured. Submitting to a web server is more reliable and potentially secure.

  • Acrobat 7 Pro Help

I am using a old version of Acrobat 7.1.0 Pro.  I do not use the program often, I need help in that I am putting a number of 'check boxes' on an PDF for an enquiry form.
The PDF will be sent out to different people and I want them to tick numerous boxes and send the PDF back to me.
The problem I am encountering is when the PDF is open in Reader the user is ticking the information but not able to safe or email the PDF back only print the page out.
Is there any way around this that I am not aware of.

If you want to enable the PDF's then yes, I would say that.
Beware that there are limitations to this type of enabled form. you can  either send it to under 500 people and collect the data an unlimited  amount of times or you can send it to an unlimited amount of people and  collect the data 500 times. Those are the basics of the license  agreement. If you think you will come close to either of those  scenarios, you should study the EULA and understand it. I think the part about these types of PDF's is section 15.13. something.

  • Booklet Printing in Acrobat Pro 8 Help!

I am printing 500 of an 18 page - 5 page in the signature - booklet through Acrobat Pro 8.0.1. It takes HOURS for the file to load into the printer and I am only trying to print 50 at a time. I changed the default printer to Adobe PDF 8.0.1 and that did not help. Any tips, hints etc. or should I just flagellate myself for taking this job I thought was going to be so quick and easy! Laughing, but not very hard....
Thank you in advance for any help...
    Kathy
    I am on a Mac...still on Tiger.

It seems as though the PDF is expanding back to postscript when you hit
print and a HUGE postscript file is chugging across the network.
Does your printer support hot-folders? In other words, can you take the
PDF and just DROP into the printer queue? This is the way many systems
these days work - gets away from the donkey work on your end ...

  • Acrobat X - Online help does not launch

I'm using Acrobat X, version 10.1.0 on Windows XP and IE 8.
When I click Help, the browser window opens, but the help does not load. How do I fix this?

Thanks - Note that I did try searching for a solution on the Internet and in the forums, but didn't find the article because I used "launch" instead of "display".
I'll have to use one of the workarounds in the article because I cannot open the help from the Acrobat Help menu.

  • Acrobat X offline help

    Hi,
i have just noticed that Adobe Acrobat X has no oflline help function anymore. Every time when hitting F1 or chosing help from the menu Acrobat is trying to connect to the internet. Of course it can not connect through an authentication proxy and even if it could it would not be allowed in our environment. After some seconds, where the application is not responding, Acrobat is launching the standard browser, but not with the help site for the product, just with the standard home page of the browser.
Is there some workaround for this behavior? I found a way to prevent the Acrobat itself trying to connect to the internet and to launch the browser immediately, but still not with the proper help site.

    Here you go: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/865/cpsid_86505.html
    The steps involve:
    Disabling Help menu item.
    Adding a custom menu item.
Installing PDF help somewhere on your network.

    Ben
