Acrobat 9.0;PDF is black screen/want new window

Hello,
Two problems:
I installed Acrobat Pro 9.0 as part of Creative Suite.  Now PDFs open as a black screen normally (with some opening as normal.
I use Mac with 10.8.4 and Safari.
Also, I want PDFs to open in a new window.  It is frustrating for the PDF to open in my browser window.
Do I need to install Acrobat Reader?  Doesn't Acrobat Pro 9.0 have a reader?
This is a new Mac.  On my old Mac PDFs opened as a new window . . . it just did it that way.
Thanks for help,
JoAnn

Acrobat 9 may not be completely compatible with 10.8.4. Whether pdfs in a browser open in a new window is up to the coder of the webpage. Not Acrobat. If you right-clik on the url, you can choose to open the pdf in a new window.

FCP 10.1 DV capturing from camera breaking the scenes into unwanted clips by flashing a black screen on import window. But its fine and accurate with adobe premiere pro cc ?

FCP X will import into separate clips every time it detects a scene change (as when you stopped and started recording in the camera). There is no option to avoid this, as far as I known.
You may try importing from camera using Quicktime Player X and then bringing the imported file into FCP X.

  • Macbook Pro 17" Black screen when selecting Windows 7

I got a Macbook Pro 17", late 2010 that has been experiencing an issue when selecting Windows 7 as my Boot OS. This is an intermittent issue. It happens like once every 8 or 10 usage. I already took it 2 the Apple Geniuses twice and I was turn around because, They say, They don't do Windows.
At this point, I'm hoping that Apple will come out with a Firmware Update or anything that will fix this issue. I know There are other users in the same boat as me or worst waiting for Apple to come out with a remedy.

You might want to reformat and re-read what you had.

  • Black-screen when finalizing Windows 7 install and a few other things

hi! ill get right to it.. i recently decided to install Windows 7 on my iMac due to the fact that i want more
flexibility when it comes to gaming. i made a partition using Boot Camp, then rebooted with the Windows 7 cd.
after a reboot or two the installation seemed to be coming to an end.
however, when Windows was starting up to finalize the installation the screen just went infinite black.
so thats where im stuck right now. however i have seen alot of discussions on different forums (with positive feedback)
on how to fix this problem with ease. apparently, one way of doing this was to delete atikmdag.sys from the Windows 7 System32 folder,
and then start Windows without problems to complete the installation.
and heres the problem im facing on top of it all: i downloaded MacFUSE in order to be able to see/gain access to
my Windows partition. the problem is, when i try to delete atikmdag.sys or anything else i am not allowed.
the entire partition and all files within seems to be write-protected. my rights are read only - and it seems that
i cannot change this. how come?
i am logged in as admin and i have all rights available for my files and folders on my mac-partition..
if there is no way of altering the permissions for the Windows 7 partition via OS X in order to
delete this atikmdag.sys file, how can i solve my Windows install problem? is there
any other way of doing it?
please help, i want to get Windows 7 running

  • Black Screen after installing Windows 7

Ive had this problem in the past and im aware that you need to install the correct display / bluetooth drivers for windows 7 for the iMac 27" 2.8Ghz i7 4GB ddr3
i have Lion installed and up to date with Bootcamp Assistant 4.0.1
i wanted a fresh windows 7 install and didnt think that i would need to mess around with downloading drivers etc. WHY with the release of Lion and the updated version of Bootcamp Assistant (and it downloads 'windows support software' prior to install) do i get the black screen!!
THIS IS SO ANNOYING as i live in a poor broadband area (2mb max) and each time i install to get this working it take AGES to download 'WINDOWS SUPPORT SOFTWARE' which doesnt address the issue
c'mon Apple your better than this!!

  • Black screen on booting windows

Gday team, long time since i was here, but this one i'm not sure which path to take, and i thought you might e able to point me in the right direction
I reset CMOS yesterday with the jumper, as my ethernet keeps disappearing, and it seems to work, i decided to go the whole nine yards, and took the battery out, i have a CD drive thats playing up so i took it off line to, but on starting up, i get Windows loading and then the black screen, tried another card, still the same, some say chipset drivers, some say updating Bios, could taking the battery out mean i need to load a more recent BIOS ? And due to no screen, i cant see anything to help me out
Any body help me out here
    thanks
    norwegian

    Gday Maesus,
I am having i assume power problems, the computer shuts down when ever it wants,no error messages
my DVD drive just packed in as well
In all my reformats, i never deleted the first 8 meg partition, which i was just about to ask about ? As i use the onboard Realtek Gigabit Ethernet, which drops out unexpectedly now and then, a reset of the CMOS jumper gets it up and running again. This first 8 MB section i gather has the Realtek Boot Agent, i was thinking of nuking the drive, but i can't seem to find it on the M/B drivers, and Realtek say i need to by it, is there somewhere i can download it, or does it get detected fine if i just boot from Windows and install( i have only ever done a full clean format/install) with PCI ehternet cards
Warranty because the company i bought this off has 6 months left on it, and considering the bugs, might as well let them look at it
Hopefully i can get this sorted one way or the other
    Thanks

  • Black Screen before installing windows 7. Lets solve once and for all.

I have a late 2008 macbook pro and have been trying to install windows 7 through boot camp for a number of days now. I have read every forum on the internet and have tried every popular solution (i.e. resetting pram, smc, unplugging, changing screen resolution, etc.) and nothing has worked. I know there are many other people with this problem but none of them have solutions. I had windows 7 installed a few months ago but it stopped working and I had to delete it. Just yesterday I reinstalled Snow Leopard and still nothing. I created the partition and tried to install windows but it just goes to the blinking cursor for one second, then a black screen. I have tried everything possible and nothing works.
Please lets try to get this problem solved because out of every single forum on the internet, none of them have solved this problem.

I think after weeks of searching I have finally narrowed it down, based on what I have read, to a disk drive problem. It seems to be something wrong with the EFI or the entire disk drive in general. I am taking it to the apple store tomorrow and I highly doubt they will do anything.

  • Installing Windows 7 Using bootcamp 5.0 on MBPr OSX 10.8.2 Black Screen Not Loading Windows 7 Install on Boot

I am trying to install Windows 7 using Bootcamp Assistence 5.0 on a MacBook Pro Retina OSX 10.8.2, I went through all steps on Creatting the Windows 7.iso into a bootable USB Dirve 16GB I use a separate USB Drive 2 GB and download Windows Support Drivers Step 2 on bootcamp assistence. I run into the problem in step 3 when the computer reboot I just get a black screen the back display still on like I can still see the apple on the back lit up, but the screen is black and wont load the window installer, if i shut it down and bring it back up i get error saying IOS not found so then i have to shut it down, enter recovery and restart on osx partition, i can see that the bootcamp partition was created but cant load windows to it. Please can anybody help me or guide me on what i am doing wrong? thank you so much in advance

this will install as normal. before installing however you will need an activation key cos in win 7 this is one of the first pages that is presented before instalation.
the key from your relative could possibly work especially if he used your internet connection to register. but this could cause problems with his/your authenticity after 30 days.
the only other option is to purchase a key.
you say a 30 day trial, does it give you a temporary key for this?

  • Black Screen on Login - Windows 7 Bootcamp Early 2011 MBP 13'

I was running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on early 2011 Macbook Pro 13'.  All was fine, until last night.
Last night I was able to boot the Windows 7, but after a glimpse on the login screen, I had a black screen.  The machine was operational but the screen was not.  To further investigate the problem, I booted on safe mode, which then I was able to login succesfully.  I reinstalled all drivers back to original bootcamp drivers but it did not solve the problem.
I know that there are many problems regarding the black screen, and about the display adapter, but none of them applies to an early 2011 model.  Does anyone had the same problem?  Can you please help?

I think I found the right solution yesterday.  I booted Windows 7 on safe mode, I started msconfig.exe and in the startup programs tab and on services tab, I disabled everything that looked like related with the Intel display adapter.
    Now it boots perfectly.
I hope it works for you as well.

  • Pavilion dv6-1230us Black Screen after installing Windows 7...Please Help

    Hi,
I recently installed Windows 7 and everything was working fine until my computer went into hibernation.   Before this, I installed all the drivers and software from the HP website for my computer for Windows 32 bit setup.  After my computer went into hibernation, my computer will not start up in normal mode; rather, it starts in safe mode only.  When its starts in normal mode, the screen just turns black and nothing happens.  The login screen comes up perfectly fine but after I login at startup, the screen just turns black.  Please help, I don't know what else to do whether it is a driver or software issue from the software from the HP site.
    Thanks,
    Daniel

  • Boot Camp: Black Screen when installing Windows 7

Hey guys, I have an intel 27' iMac. 4 days ago I removed windows 7 because there was an issue with the system (it didn't let me run Maya), so I attempted to install windows 7 again, but the problem was that my internal disk drive doesn't work. (Tried multiple ways of fixing it) Then I bought an external disk drive, hoping that this would fix everything, I was able to partition my windows 7, but when the mac restarts for the first time I'm introduced by a black screen with a small blinking dash top-left of the screen. So I found a fix for it, I got a USB renamed it to MBRFAT or MRBFAT don't remember exactly (I'm on a different computer) and did everything the internet told me to do. To my surprise, it made the blinking dash disappear, but I was introduced with yet another error. Bootmgr is missing, these 4 days were filled with complete bad luck. Please help me out here.
Too long; didn't read version: When the iMac restarts for the first time, a black screen appears with a Bootmgr error, telling me to press any key, although I keep pressing it on my USB mac keyboard nothing happens.

  • Boot Camp - Black Screen after installing Windows 7

    Hello guys!
I have tried to install Windows 7 several times and so far no success.
Everything goes fine until I complete Win7 installation.
Then when I install Boot camp drivers the computer prompts for reboot.
After the login screen, I am able to log in, but the screen turns into BLACK!.
And I cannot do anything but shut it down with the power button. I can still hear that the laptop is on, but screen stays black.
I have tried removing the ATI and NVIDIA Drivers as recommended in this forum:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=840528
But so far I get the same result over an over.
Anybody is facing the same issue?
    I have MACBOOK PRO
    MAC OS X 10.6.8
    AMD Radeon HD 6490M (ATI)
    Intel HD Graphics 3000
Quad Core i7 Chip, 4GB RAM 500GB HD
    Please Help!!

I did install : Display Driver +  Catalyst Control Center dowloaded from AMD support website:
    http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/bootcamp-win7.aspx
The result is still the same - BLACK SCREEN
I rolled back to initial configuration.
Then I installed the AMD driver.
In device manager it shows as the AMD  Radeon HD 6490M driver for the display/Graphics card
Everythig is fine until I install the Boot camp drivers.
Then after the reboot I face the same issue.
However the driver for AMD still stays there in the devive manager.
    Any other ideas, suggestions?
    thanks!!

  • Black Screen while installing Windows 7 with BootCamp

    Hello all,
I try to install windows 7 by using Boot Camp but when I restart my computer for Win7 Reboot, there is black screen with no activity. I waited maybe 20 minutes but no any process. Even I could not see the Win7 boot animation. Only black screen. Could you help me ?
    Thanks in advance

It is good to see that it is indeed a USB2.
The support software on the USB is used in the Pre-boot environment setup and provides drivers for Apple specific hardware, GPU, BT, Mouse, etc. You can verify that by looking at the USB contents. The DVD contains generic drivers when hardware is not recognized as defaults to use. Apple does enough 'secret sauce' to make them different. The following does not explicitly state the USB2 need when using the DVD Installer and mentions W8 (not W7).
From Boot Camp: Creating an ISO image from a Windows installation DVD - Apple Support
Insert a blank USB 2 flash drive that is a least 16GB in size into a USB port on the computer. Boot Camp Assistant uses this drive to store the Windows 8 install media and support drivers during installation of Windows.
Note: This flash drive needs to be formatted for the FAT32 file system and must use the Master Boot Record partitioning scheme. Use Disk Utility to check the format of the flash drive before proceeding, and partition or erase the flash drive if necessary.
I suspect the GPU is not getting the correct driver and the Installer fails. The Generic VGA should work. From the OS X side, can you see files in your BC volume? If yes, can you look for logs in the BC volume at the following locations.
    ./Windows/Inf/setupapi.dev.log
    ./Windows/Inf/setupapi.offline.log
    ./Windows/Inf/setupapi.setup.log
    ./Windows/Logs/SetupCleanupTask/setupact.log

  • Black screen when installing Windows XP on new Boot Camp partition

I just upgraded my iMac Intel Alum to Leopard and used Boot Camp to create the Windows partition. When I try to install Windows XP from the install disk, I just get a black screen with a blinking cursor in the upper left corner. Is it having trouble finding the Boot Camp partition for the Windows install? Everything else is working fine. Leopard still boots okay and everything works in Mac OS - I just can't get to the next step of installing Windows.
    Thanks in advance,
