Acrobat 9.0 Pro - Blurred printing

Starting last week, any pdfs with colour in them that I have tried to print to either of my printers (one a laser Toshiba, the other an inkjet HP) come out with the text all blurred.  I have attached an example of a pdf I tried to print.  They don't always come out quite this bad, but bad enough they're unreadable.  The text for this page, by the way, was supposed to be black, yet you can see the text in different colours.
I'm really not sure what could be causing this.  We print pdfs all the time and until last week, we had no problems.  The computers here all run Windows 7 64-bit and the server is SBS 2003.  All updates have been done for Windows and for Adobe.
Any ideas on how to fix this would be most appreciated.

Hi Jabiru18,
Please check with another forum thread discussing the same issue:
Single Page Continuous Setting
Let me know if that helps.
You might also check for updates from the Help menu to run the latest patch of Acrobat 9 i.e. 9.5.5

  • Acrobat 7.0 Pro pdf printer does not populate? Error says printer port.

I got a new computer and was installing Creative Suite & Acrobat pro and the Adobe PDF printer does not show up in the Printers. I downloaded the upgrade and Windows says it cannot install.
I am running Windows 7 Pro

Two parts of AA 7 will not install on Win 7 (32 or 64-bit): the Adobe PDF printer and AcroTray.exe. You can install a separate color PS printer (either one from Adobe or possibly one for an HP color PS printer), change the name to Adobe PDF and change the port to FILE. That should do the job, but you will ALWAYS have an extra step in the creation of a PDF. You will have to print to the printer and a PS file will be created (probably with a PRN extension). You then have to open that file in Distiller to create a PDF. From my brief testing, this process will work and the rest of Acrobat and Distiller seem to work (though I did not test extensively). If this is unacceptable to you, then purchase AA XI (upgrade not available from AA 7).

  • Acrobat 9.4 Pro PDF-Printer

    Hi everybody,
i have a word file (Word 2011 Release) with underline text in font verdana. When i create a pdf via "print" and select the adobe printer the underline is gone. I created a Microsoft Support Ticket, but they say its not a word problem. When i create a pdf via "save as", the underline is visible. Can anybody help me with this problem? Is this problem fixed with Adobe X. Does anybody had this problem?
Using Mac 10.5.8 and latest Adobe 9.4 Pro Edition.
    Thx in advance.

Adobe has not released a copy of Acorbat that fully works with Windows 7 64bit and Office 2010.
Have you looked at "Save at PDF/XPS" in MS Office?
You may need to run the applications in the 32bit mode.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro Extended - Print to PDF setup on Windows 7 64bit???

    Hello,
I recently purchased a high-end laptop, running Windows 7 64-bit OS. I've installed my Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended software but it will not be recognized as a print option under the printers setting. Is there an update to Acrobat 9 Pro Extended, which fixes this problem? What can be done to have Acrobat show up as a print option? I bought the top of the line Acrobat so that I could MAKE PDF's. This program is completely useless to me if I cannot make PDF's with it!!!
ANY help will be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

Which version. I think it is a minimum of AA9.2 that is needed for X64. Anyway, you should probably either open Acrobat and do the update (help menu) or download all of the updates from Adobe>downloads>updates and install them in order. The current version is AA9.3.4.

I tried the Detect and Repair under Help, and I get the same error.

I think that will be your solution. The printer driver is not compatible with newer systems, especially 64-bit ones.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended | Print Option | Enable Flash Object Issue

    Hi,
We are facing some problems with Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended Print Option.
We had a requirement to embed interactive Flash graphs in the PDF file, user will interact with these graphs and whatever graph he plotted, the data for it will be saved in PDF text field, so that on the next launch we can fetch the data to the flash from PDF text fields, so that user can see what changes he did last time. This works great, we are able to successfully comminicate from PDF to flash and then from Flash to PDF.
Please note that, PDF can have multiple graphs on different pages.
The issue we are facing is when we interact with the graphs and then try to print the PDF, in that case only the currently active graph or flash file (The page on which user is currently on) will be seen enabled in the print, the graphs on the other pages, which are not currently visible are seen in disabled state hence the data on it does not get printed.
We have also used the "RMA.activated = true;" command, still no success. Please refer to the screen shots below to understand the issue in more detail..
    Flash Embed Options:
In the Print Option, it looks disabled:
The required/desired output is as follows:
We want all Graphs to get printed in enabled state and with the data user had entered. Please do let me know, if there is any workaround to achive this functionality.

  • Acrobat v 9 pro unable to see review &  comments button

Using standard acrobat 5 SDK we have build an extension plugin for loading annotations when opening a document in IE browser, and similarly on click of save it stores the annotations back. This works fine with acrobat 6.0 pro but in 8 and 9 its not working. In 9.0, we do not see the review & comments when we open the plugin in IE. But we are able to open existing annotations and edit existing comments. We need to know what API changes are done between 6 and 8. If any of the 5.x SDK has been desupported and hwo do we get the comments button comeup in IE.

I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your new MacBook Pro; I know printer config issues can be frustrating. It sounds like you have been on the right track in troubleshooting this issue. If you are still having issues adding your wireless printer to your Mac, you may want to double-check the steps outlined in the following article (apologies if you have already done so):

  • How can I persuade Acrobat 8.0 Pro to upgrade from cold comfort CS2 without Acrobat 7.0?

I have a Student version of CS2 Premium (including Acrobat 7.0 pro), included in the package was an upgrade version of Acrobat 8.0 Pro.
It worked well all those years on my XP. Now I had to change my system and installed Win 7. Found out that my CS2 was no longer on (de- and re-)activation terms, so I downloaded CS 2 here and read here thoroughly about the problems of my fellow sufferers before I started unpacking and installing, and I must say, the discussions here helped me a lot to avoid tricky traps and I have at least achieved to install the for my work most important parts of CS2 properly, i.e. Indesign and Photoshop. (The most important trick is to start all the 4 exes in an interval of one minute so that they lie all neatly unpacked in the target folder before or short after the first exe to unpack which is oddly No.2 has done it's unpacking and instantly following installation job, and the show can go on.)
Quite oddly, Illustrator refuses to be installed. It says "Falsches BS oder BS-Version für die Anwednung" (wrong BS or BS-Version for the application. I quoted it in German because I don't know if BS is the same term in English). But that is a minor problem, like the one with GoLive which was not even in the bundle. I downloaded it separately and tried to install it but it gives the same mistake massage. Maybe there is somebody enlightened who reads this and would like to give me a hint?
Here is what is really annoying: Acrobat 7.0 Pro was not in the download bundle because, as it has been discussed here at length, the Premium version seems not to be available. I downloaded it separately and installed it and all worked well so far.
That was the moment when I thought that I could install my upgrade version of Acrobat 8.0 on top of it. Acrobat accepted the serial no. and started to install but gave a warning that I should better uninstall 7.0 because I risked technical problems if not. I risked to not uninstall because I needed it as a proof for the upgrade license, didn't I?
But at the very end of the installation, there WAS a technical problem,  a tiny black screen with a white message which I could not read so fast, and Acrobat 8.0 undid it's whole installation. I uninstalled 7.0 too, restarted the system, and got a blue screen. This whole encounter had somehow interfered with my printer's driver and maybe my GeForce driver. That was the day's smallest problem and could be fixed.
Well, leaving 7.0 uninstalled, I tried to install Acrobat 8.0 Pro again, and this time, it refused to continue after having read my serial number, because of course I had no installed proof for my license to upgrade. So it's either crash or refuse, a real unmerry-go-round dilemma, like having the cake and eat it.
Formerly, this problem did not exist because Acrobat 7.0 belonged to the bunch and could be uninstalled whithout my losing the license to upgrade because there was still the rest of the CS2 family waving the flags.
Surely, there must be a workaround here - is it possible to half uninstall Acrobat 7.0, maybe by fiddling something in the registry (I know how to save it before!) or just kicking the uncouth drivers out? But where are they hidden and what are their names? The replacement serial number given on the download side would be accepted, as we have seen.
I really do hope that one of you has already found a solution to that problem, too.
I hope I have mentioned everything necessary and there are no questions left. Thank you for your patience.
    Saskia
P.S. For my biggest problem, I have been given a fine solution by the support after a long chat. After some unavailing trials to unlock the serial number they created a new SN for my Acrobat 8, and now it works fine and I am the happiest girl of the day. The first (minor) problem still remains. I have an idea and wanted to ask if you specialists think it could work. As I never made any use of version cue, maybe I don't need to install the applications as a suite. Trying to install one of the bundle as a separate application did not work, but maybe this was because of the existence of CS2? Would it help if I'd uninstall CS2 and install each application separately?

Does anyone know how I can can the manual for Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro?

There is no single "manual" explaining Acrobat (any release).
The reality is that a comprehensive "manual" would, in print, be more like volumes comprising an Encyclopedia set.
    (...anyone remember those?    )
What follows provides a bit of an overview of what Adobe provides as information resources to facilitate understanding through study, Q&A, and 'show and tell'.
Note that there are many non-Adobe sources of information and training  that are most excellent as well.
There is the Acrobat Help documentation. This is installed when Acrobat is installed.
Adobe LiveDocs also provides Acrobat Help. There is a Help version for Standard, Pro, and Pro Extended.
This documentation is maintain as a living document set by Adobe.
There is the collected documentation available at Acrobat DevNet.

Even if you do not "develop" stuff, all of what is here belongs on the shelves of your 'eLibrary'.

  • Editing a PDF with Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Pro

    Hi,
I've created a Will using an online kit. The final version is in PDF format. I can't print it out as is, because I want to delete a line at the end of a paragraph. I have Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Pro which I'm told can easily do this, but I don't know how to use it. I don't want to lose the exact format from the PDF version, because then I'd have to typeset the doc from scratch. By the way, I do not have the fonts used in the PDF doc. I hope this won't make a difference.
Can it be done? If so, exactly how. Please walk me through it like I'm six.
    Thanks so much.
    I'm on Mac OS 10.5.8

It's been a long time since I've used Acrobat 7 Pro but I have used Acrobat 8 Professional.
The key thing is to choose the correct tool. You're looking for the Touchup Text tool, which is probably on the Advanced Editing toolbar. You can probably open up that toolbar by choosing View > Toolbars > Advanced Editing. With that tool selected, drag through the sentence to be deleted. Right-click (Control-click) on the selected text and press Delete.

  • Acrobat 7.0 pro will not reinstall

I have CS2 Premium on XP. Had problems with printer not supporting pdfs. After techs fixed my computer Acrobat 7.0 pro will not work right. after 3 weeks with customer support and waiting days for them to get back to me they say they can't help - don't support CS2 (wished they would told me that initially). (I use this for volunteer newsletters and do not need CS4) I uninstalled CS2 and Reinstalled it. Probablem is when the components come up to install the Acrobat 7.0 pro is greyed out and will not reinstall or unistall it. Tried to go to the Acrobat componet on my disks and just install acrobat 7.0 pro is doesn't work - error says "Wrong OS or OS version for application".
Obviously it is still recognizing the initial installation. I mention this to the Adobe tech and ask how I could remove it completely so that I could reinstall and they would not give any suggestion, just kept saying we don't support it and refered me to the forums.
I really don't want to wipe my computer clean and reinstall all my software.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Activate Acrobat 9.0 pro but dosen't like my serial No.

I have installed acrobat 9.0 pro on my Vista with SP2, program installed ok but I have no printer selection, can't open files from the menu. several things don't work.  I figured it might be because i need to regiester and activate the software.  When I tried to register and enter my serial no it gives me an error and says I must contact support?  Help Please.

Have you tried repairing and/or reinstalling Acrobat Pro 9? Also, do you have Acrobat Reader installed on the same system? If you do, Adobe strongly recommends you remove Acrobat Reader and then do a repair on Acrobat Pro 9.
Since you said you installed Acrobat Pro OK, I also assume this is not an OEM copy. Is this correct?
    Good luck.

  • Acrobat 8.0 Pro Conversion problem

    Hi, I'm running
Acrobat 8.0 Pro on a Windows XP system, got plenty of disk space.
I start to covert a normal word doc and I get about 10 percent done, then
I get "PDF conversion process failed, please correct the error and retry"
I have no idea what the error might be.  Any suggestion would be appreciated!
    Thank you, larry.k

    Hi, thanks,
Under the Help About it says just Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional, version
    8.2.5, nothing more.
Yes I am trying to convert a .doc within Acrobat.  I'm clicking on Create
    PDF, then From File,
then I'm navigating to the .doc file.  Then it gets about 10 percent and
    fails.
The Word that I am using is Word 2003, it's the old format, nothing new in
    there that I know
    of.
The Adobe PDF printer appears in my printer list, however it does not have a
    driver so nothing
can print to it.  I don't know how it got there, but it doesn't work.
Word does not have a PDF add-in, so the one that is appearing on my menu
    came from
    Adobe.
I did find a .log file after trying to convert, it shows this:
    %%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: ÐÏ à¡± á ]%%
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%
    That doesn't help me much!!
I de-activated all the plug-ins in word, then restarted and it made me
approve them all again.  Adobe was in there, but it still won't convert
    to PDF.
    Thanks,
    larry.k
