Acrobat 9.0 Pro 'Single Page Continuous' viewing

Dear All
I have set up my Acrobat 9.0 Pro for 'Single Page Continuous' viewing.  However, when I open the application it always defaults to 'Single Page'.  How can this be resolved?  Tks

  • Single Page Continuous Setting

How do you save this as a permanent setting so that you can scroll quickly as opposed to the slow scrolling which appears to be the default setting?  I am using Acrobay Pro 9.5.5.
Every time I select it under View - Page Display it resets when I open a new pdf.

I don't have an Open Options tab, only Initial View under File > Properties.  Page Layout under Initial View is set to default, which to me says that it should use my default setting under Preferences > Page Display > Page Layout.  It does not however  Even when I select Single Page Continuous under Page Layout > File > Initial View, it still doesn't work.  Same thing for the Risk Compliance file that you posted.  It scrolls quickly in the browswer but when I download the file it does not scroll quickly.    Page Layout > File > Initial View in the downloaded Risk Compliance doc is set to Default and the only way to get it to scroll quickly once downloaded is to manually change to Single Page Continuous under View > Page Display.  Any ideas?

  • Adobe 9.5x converter printer "Single Page Continuous"

We use the Adobe 9.5.1 PDF Converter Printer to create PDF documents from other programs. In Adobe we have Edit | Preferences | Page Display | Page Layout set to "Single Page Continuous". This seems to only be applied when creating documents inside Adobe Acrobat. When using the Adobe PDF printer it's not applying this setting to the documents it's creating.
There doesn't appear to be a "Single Page Continuous" or another page layout option in the Printer Properties. Is there a setting we can turn on in the Adobe 9.x printer?

The Create PDF Printer instance is just a mechanism to send postscript files to Acrobat Distiller for Printing. In Distiller, I could find no joboptions setting to do what you wish.

  • What is the keyboard shortcut for scrolling page down? In Pages, Safari, etc... Just a single page/ screen view, not all the way to the bottom.  Thank you.

Trying to navigate the screen without my mousepad.  I have carpal tunnel and early stage arthritis and cannot repeatedly make the appropriate motions to scroll with two fingers.  Is there a keyboard shortcut for scrolling up and down line by line or page by page?
    Thank you.

Yeah. sorry. those are not correct. ctrl N + P are for home and end line shortcuts. Ctrl V does go down one line.  But CTRL arrow up or down do not work in Safari.  But thank you very much for the attention and the time...
Note from my first post above -- I did not say to use CTRL arrow in Safari:
    For Safari:
Scroll down a line: down arrow
Scroll down a screen: option down arrow
Note from my second post above and from the first link I gave that  Control N, P, and V worked for me in Pages as described in the link and in my post:
The link to shortcuts that I gave abaove includes Control N, P, and V for move down a line, up a line and down a page and those seem to work in Pages.

  • Can't keep stable continuous single page view

One day my Acrobat 9 pro mysteriously started to display output in a 2-page view by default.  I have changed the view as well as edited preferences (even trying to toggle it by setting preferences as dual page and back to single page continuous to no avail.  It seems that if I change view and preference and then save a pdf it will reopen as desired in single page continuous.  But as soon as I print to Adobe from Word or download a pdf or tiff, the resulting file opens in dual page.  This is a minor hassle but doing it multiple times per day begins to get grating -- I have tried the 'file repair' option and everything else I can think of -- what might I be doing wrong? (I am on a machine with Vista).  Thanks -- Scott

(Boy have I had a hard time responding to the reply!)
I still can't get the setting to stick no matter what I do -- setting edit> preferences, file > properties, and view>single page continous.  If i save a PDF with it in the single page continuous view it seems to reopen that way.  Any PDF I download or create from word comes back in 2-page view.  Oh well.
For what it is worth I tried emailing a reply but it bounced back and the for the longest time I have not been able to find a way to post a reply.

  • Preview full screen defaulting single page view

    Hello All,
I like the full screen feature in OS Lion. This way i use Preview to read articles. When i open a doc, full screen mode gives two adjacent pages default view.
I want to open an article an display it default as single page continuous.
    Is it possible ?

I don't know, since I rarely use it w/19" monitor, but you can file an enhancement report (or bug report) with Apple, via its Bug Reporter system. Join the Apple Developer Connection (ADC)—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report/enhancement request. You'll get a get a Bug (ER) ID number; thus, starting a dialog directly with engineering.

  • Page Maker 6.0 and Acrobat 6,0 Pro

When I´m going to create a pdf file, in Acrobat 6,0 Pro, from Page Maker 6.0, the images moves from its place in to the text. Do You know why?

Sorry, but that's the best I can do. PM 6.0 is about 10 years old and
Acrobat 6 is three versions out of date.
You're in very unsupported territory using stuff that old because even
those of use who used to be experts are going to have a hard time
    remembering.

  • Acrobat 9.0 Pro - Blurred printing

Starting last week, any pdfs with colour in them that I have tried to print to either of my printers (one a laser Toshiba, the other an inkjet HP) come out with the text all blurred.  I have attached an example of a pdf I tried to print.  They don't always come out quite this bad, but bad enough they're unreadable.  The text for this page, by the way, was supposed to be black, yet you can see the text in different colours.
I'm really not sure what could be causing this.  We print pdfs all the time and until last week, we had no problems.  The computers here all run Windows 7 64-bit and the server is SBS 2003.  All updates have been done for Windows and for Adobe.
Any ideas on how to fix this would be most appreciated.

  • Import XML into Single Page PDF Form - Form Repeats

I have a created a PDF form in Acrobat, which is a single page that has about 16 text fields to be filled in. The data I am importing is in an XML format. I am able to import the data for a single page with no trouble. I would like to be able to import multiple pages of data and have the form repeat with the corresponding additional data.
    For example,
    - I have a "grid report" that is 3 rows and 16 columns. Each row of data represents a separate page. The data is converted to XML format and saved as a single file (see below sample).
    - I have a single page PDF Form with text 16 fields. The text fields correspond to the column data from the "grid report"
    - (Desired) After importing the XML data into the single page PDF form, I would like to have a file that has 3 pages. Each page is a replicate of the original form.
              - The data contained in the 16 fields of page 1 reflect the data from Row1 of the "grid report"
              - The data contained in the 16 fields of page 2 reflect the data from Row2 of the "grid report"
              - The data contained in the 16 fields of page 3 reflect the data from Row3 of the "grid report"
I am not sure if I need to change the format of my XML, or if there is a way to add a tag of some kind at the end of the PDF From that indicates the (blank) form should repeat for each <Row> of data.
I am open to other reporting/form applications, but I am having a hard time finding anything online that indicates this specific functionality. I would think that this is a pretty standard process, but I am having quite the time finding a solution. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

adobe acrobat pro x change the program's default page display to single page view - Windows 8, HP Laptop

Since there were no answers, I will take a stab at a reponse. For the 2nd method, I suspect you could simply select the print or press job options to get the desired results or turn off "use local fonts" in Acrobat. If you check the font list, the fonts are probably not embedded and that is likely the problem.
I noticed that you have both Reader and Acrobat installed and that might cause some conflict, but should not be the issue here. If you were to uninstall Reader, you would have to repair Acrobat. The conflict here is that you might have problems with the one opening when you want the other. If it works for you, then don't worry about it.
For technique 1, I suspect you may be using IE 9 that has apparently been a problem since it came out. I have refused to install it. However, it may simply be that PDF Maker does not work correctly with your browser, or got deactivated and needs to be allowed to run in your browser (IE I am assuming).

  • Single page view mode in Acrobat Reader on android

Is there a way for a pdf to dictate the view mode used in Acrobat Reader on a smart phone? By default I believe  it is set to continuous however I would like it to automatically change to single page when my pdf is opened.

    Mark -
    You are correct.
In Acrobat Reader on my PC, I'm highlighting text and then adding a sticky-note comment to it.
So, if I just insert a sticky note comment without highlighting the associated text in the document, I can see the sticky note when I view the document on my android device - - just tested this and it works!
OK - I can live with that, but it would be good if the combination of highlighting AND sticky notes were visible when viewin the document in Android - the highlightimg feature makes it clearer to what piece of text the sticky bote relates to. Hope it can be incorporated in a furure release.
Thanks for clarifying the situation for me.

  • Can I set to single page view instead of continuous scrolls in Preview?

I just don't like and feel uncomfortable to view the PDF in continuous scrolls mode. however, it is set to be default in Preview of Lion.
How could I change the defaut setting to make it open in single page view instead of continuous scrolls mode?
    Thx

hmm - I have the same problem - meaning each time I open a preview file it defaults to continous scroll, which for whatever reason, I hate.  So each fiel I have to use the view menu to change that particual view to single page.  It seems if I quite that file and reopen it on the smae computer it will open in single page view.  But any new documents default to the hated continuous scroll view
It sounds like your machine defaults to single page.  I assume youa re also usig the latest Lion release.  So there must be a way to change the default view of Preview, but I can't seem to find the setting

  • Acrobat single page view - can't make it work.

    Hi, everyone.
I have created a book using Blurb's template for InDesign. After I finished the book I exported it as a PDF file and wanted to review it on my notebook and iPad but Acrobat only displays it in two page view (the 'spread' as InDesign refers to it).
I've tried a vew options in Acrobat including view in single page mode but so far haven't been able to make it work. In addition, although I have chosen the option in Acrobat to have a space displayed between pages when viewing the 2-page spread, the space still doesn't show.
Any ideas as to how this can be accomplished ?
I need to be able to see this PDF on page at a time instead of the 2-page spread as Acrobat displays it now.
Thank you in advance for your help.

The fix is on the InDesign side since what appears to be two pages is really a single page in the PDF. Export as single pages, not spreads. For example: http://indesignsecrets.com/interactive-pdf-from-indesign-cs5-always-has-spreads-on.php
