Acrobat 9.2.0 Pro Extednded deffective print to PDF

PC: Win7 Home Premium;
Recently have had no success with printing to PDF using Acrobat 9.2.0 Pro Extednded. After some malware infection Acrobat 9.2.0 Pro Extednded stopped printing to PDF. Cleaned out the malware, did a fresh reinstall of PDF 9.6.2 Pro Extended and still no success.
Does an "uninstall" efficiently remove all previous related Acrobat files, or are there lurking remnants that need manual cleaning?
Is there an upgrade patch fix for Acrobat 9.2.0?

Hi GlitchMobile2,
The current version of Acrobat 9 is 9.5.1.  I would suggest launching Acrobat (with no PDF file open) and choosing Help > Check for Updates.  You'll need to apply the updates incrementally.  You'll find that you're asked to restart after each update, however, you don't really need to restart until the last update (9.5.1) is complete.  You can see a full list of the updates for Acrobat 9 here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows
After you've patched up Acrobat to 9.5.1, I would suggest running a repair of Acrobat (Help > Repair Acrobat Installation) just to make sure everything is in its proper place.

  • HP Laserjet pro P1606 wont print certain pdf documents

My HP laserjet P1606 won't print certain pdf docs.  It's connected via USB to my imac (OS 10.7.5; Adobe Reader 9.5.5). My wireless HP Photosmart 6520 has no problem printing my pdf docs.   Not sure why some pdf's are able to print on the P1606 and others can't.  Any solutions?
    This question was solved.

    Hi @JL_MAC,
I understand that you aren't able to print all the PDF documents from the HP Laserjet P1606dn, but the Photosmart 6520 can. I can help you with this.
Run all the Adobe Reader updates to see if that helps. The latest version is 11.0.
It might be a issue with the printer language.
The Laserjet P1606dn printer is hostbased and the Photosmart 6520 printer language is PCL3 GUI.
    Hope this helps.
    Have a nice day!

  • Acrobat 8.1.2 Pro: Extremely slow printing

Whenever Acrobat Pro (8.1.2 on OSX 10.4.11) is used to print, pages print extremely slow, up to 5 minutes or more per page. When printing documents, bigger dan 100 pages, in several hours it will print, but contributes a zero kb file to the print queue. My only solution so far is to use the free acrobat reader for printing purposes, which prints the same document flawlessly in minutes...
Anybody have the same issues and/or better solutions?
    Thanks in advance

I think this is a problem related to 8.1.2.
We're on Windows XP SP2 on very new PCs with no printer driver changes. The Reader version is now 8.1.2, and a simple, black and white 1 bit PDF file that took a few seconds to print before, now takes minutes to even send to the printer after the upgrade. (The last workstation that upgraded this morning is now complaining of the exact same issue.) I've even tried removing my SOPHOS anti-virus to see if that's the issue - no change in Reader's print performance. All other applications print fine. I can't seem to troubleshoot the problem, but I believe it's something Adobe changed in 8.1.2. Maybe it's time to seriously try an alternative reader...

  • Acrobat 9 Pro - Will it print to pdf with embedded pdf's from Word 2007?

    Hello All,
We're considering upgrading to Acrobat 9 Pro or Extended.  One of our concerns is whether it will handle the following:
    1. We create very large documents and we like the ability to use OLE of existing PDF documents imbedded into Word 2007 which causes a new PDF window  to open up from the imbedded PDF.  It also displays nicely as an icon or the cover page within Word.
    2. The challenge is when printing (distilling) that master document with any imbedded PDFs, the icon or cover page is displayed, but the OLE feature goes away and does not recognize the imbedded PDF any longer; Acrobat simply treats the imbedded PDF in Word as any other page in the distilling process.
    3. We're not wild about bookmarking or linking to another PDF.
Does Acrobat 9 Pro or Extended resolve this issue?

The options availible for scripted print settings are all shown in the entry for "PrintParams" object in the Acrobat JavaScript Reference.  Have you looked to see if these options fit your needs?  If they do, and if the script can detect which PDF requires which options, then  you're in business.  But if the options you need are not there, then your only option is to set the batch process to display the print dialog for every PDF.

  • Acrobat 10.1.5 extra graphics when printing to pdf

When printing from MS Project to Acrobat, I get extra lines(thin blue/purple, see attached image) on the last half of the document. It looks fine in my coworkers, she is running Acrobat 9 though. Any thoughts?

Starting with the image itself, what kind is it? Where is it located, locally or on a network? How is it inserted in the FM file, i.e.  by reference or as an OLE object?
Is this a single file or a book with multiple chapters? If it's multiple chapters, does the graphic behave correctly when PDFing the individual chapter? Are there other images of the same type and location that do print correctly?
Can you confirm whether either or both systems have had the MS hotfix 952909 applied:

  • Moved Acrobat from C drive to D drive, print to PDF no longer works.  How can I fix this?

I recently moved a few programs from my C drive to the D drive to free up space.  Now, choosing "Adobe PDF" as the printer no longer seems to work.  The save screen appears, but no PDF is created.  Do I need to reconfigure the Adobe "printer" or similar?  Thanks.

    Hey parlorsoldier,
Could you please elaborate the same on how have you moved Acrobat from C to D drive.
Did you completely uninstalled the software and then performed custom installation for the C drive location.
Let me know your workflow, please.

  • Cannot edit text or any command other than print in Adobe Acrobat 9.0.1 Pro. Receive error message

I just installed adobe acrobat 9.0.1 Pro and it opens up pdfs and prints fine but when I try to edit text or enter any other command I get an error and it gives the option of cancel to debug or to exit program.
    Error message:
The instruction at “0x2b806327” referenced memory at “0x00000348”. The memory could not be “read”.
Click on ok to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program
At first it stated that it did not recognize the font but when I looked it up under file, properties, fonts. The font was helvetica (embedded subset) for all the fonts on the pdf file. I have also checked the sercurity tab as well and there is no security on the file.
When I choose cancel to debug it just terminates the program. When I choose ok it terminates the program.
    Please help.

Maybe your installation is currupt (scratched CD)
Reinstall on another maschine (and clean CD) to validate this case.
Update your Acrobat, maybe the corresponding files are replaced or the error is fixed.

  • Print Multiple Pdf's with Acrobat X pro

I would like to print multiple pdf's from folder but when i highlight like 7 pdf's then do right click there is no option to print.  We had this option in acrobat 9 pro.
Also one of the user computer only ahve acrobat reader and that user able to print mulitple pdf's.
How can i fix this? pls help
    Thanks

Having a similar issue with Acrobat Pro X, currently version 10.0.3 (I will be updating it tonight). If I right click a PDF and select print, Acrobat launches  but doesn't open the document or print. It just opens to the initial screen (where you can open, create, etc). If I right click on a PDF and select Open, Acrobat launches and opens the document and from within Acrobat I can do a File -> Print and it works - so it's just a problem when trying to Print from a right-click.
I can right click on other doc types and it prints just fine, can select multiple files of the same type and they print as well if I right click -> Print. This is only happening with Acrobat so it's not an OS issue. I have the same problem on 2 boxes.

  • Print to PDF - not cleared from queue. Bug?

I'm using Acrobat Pro X w/ Windows 7 Pro. When printing to PDF, I'm prompted to save the file and it prints allright. However, the print job then stays in the print manager with an error. And next time I want to print to PDF, I first have to open the print manager and delete the previous print job. So there is a work around, but this behavior is somewhat annoying and surely not as advertised ... I have tried to contact Adobe to report this, but I'm not in the mood to pay for expensive "support" to report what seems just like a software bug. Has anybody had a similar problem and, if so, is there a solution?

Hi, please refer to http://forums.adobe.com/thread/791587 for resolution.

  • Unable to print to pdf from a pdf

We're having a issue where we're unable to print to pdf from a pdf with acrobat 9 std, so far a 64bit machine. We get the following errors
"the document could not be printed"
"there were no pages selected to print"
We see the issue with all pdfs. Acrobat 7 std works fine, as does printing to pdf from other applications with 9 std. So far it only effects acrobat 9 std. We've repaired the installation and updated to the latest. We do have however only see this with one machine, but we haven't looked past this one machine yet...Any ideas?
    thanks all,
    cg

XP pro 64bit. Just updated to 9.3.3, still have the error being thrown.
The user fills in a form from our intranet and then prints it with the adobe printer creating the illusion that its write protected. I'm not one to stop them, given the forms are low value and all. Possibly if the process is uncomplicated (that's key here) then saving the document to the desktop and making the change and write protecting it there before transmittal might be an alternative, as long as it doesn't rely on passwords and keys...
    Sorry I'm an adobe noob.
    thanks,

  • Why I cannot print a PDF with markups?

We use Acrobat Standard 7.0.8 and cannot print a PDF document form with markups. We found a "quick fix" to print it, which was to select in the print dialogue to print Document and Markups.
    Question:
Because we've sent the form to our clients, they several have reported this about the form. Do you know why this would happen? Is it that they are using a different version of Adobe? Or what is the problem?
    Joe

That's the way the application works. If you think the default should be to print the markups send a feature request to Adobe, but I doubt it will happen. You just need to explain to your clients how to do it. It's quite simple.

  • I cannot print a PDF from Adobe Acrobat Pro or Adobe Reader with Mavericks!

I cannot print a PDF from Adobe Acrobat Pro or Adobe Reader.  I tried on both MacBook Pros we have here, both now with Mavericks.  Error message says "Opening printer connection failed.  Unable to open printer connection . . . "  This is after it says sending data, printing, shows the percentages etc., but then at the end I get the error message above.  I can print a PDF (same one) from Preview, but not from Acrobat!  What's going on?  Never had this issue before Mavericks . . . • Why don't AutoCAD drawings converted by Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro print?

I have been using Adobe Acrobat 6.01 Professional to make PDF files from my AutoCAD 2002 drawings. I email these PDF files to a client who prints them. My drawings are 2D with a 24 x 36 inch sheet size. The Adobe conversion buttons were automatically installed on my AutoCAD 2002 toolbar when installed Acrobat 6.01 Pro. When I would make a PDF file I went to the layout view of the drawing, and click the button “Convert to Adobe PDF”. Everything worked GREAT. I would email the PDF drawing files to the client, and they sent them to the printer and produced their hard copy drawings.
A few months ago I purchased Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium. After installing this suite my Acrobat 6.01 Pro was replaced by Acrobat 9.1 Pro, and the Adobe conversion buttons were removed from my AutoCAD 2002 toolbar. I now have to either try to create the PDF files from within Acrobat 9.1 Pro, or from within AutoCAD by selecting Adobe PDF as my plot device and plotting them. A PDF file is created with either method which can be opened and viewed as a normal, but neither will print on my client’s printer. When sent to the printer they get a “parsing error.” Also these PDF files are about half the megs of those created by using the conversion buttons on the AutoCAD toolbar for Acrobat 6.01 Pro.
I have up dated Acrobat 9.1 Pro to Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro, and do like the many new features. I set up the recourse path for the text, plot, and styles in Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro. Nothing I tried fixed the problem, so I uninstalled Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro and reinstalled Acrobat 6.01 Pro. Everything is back to normal, and the Adobe conversion buttons are back on my AutoCAD 2002 toolbar?
I would like to be able to use Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro because of its new features, but Acrobat 6.01 Pro and Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro can’t exist on my computer at the same time. Is there a fix for Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro? Is there a way to get the Adobe conversion buttons back on my AutoCAD 2002 toolbar? What am I doing wrong? I’m running Windows XP and have read about Acrobat 9 Pro includes a Windows-only PDFMaker for AutoCAD. Supposedly PDFMaker runs inside of AutoCAD, but will it run inside of AutoCAD 2002? Is PDFMaker inside of folder with Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro? HELP.

Over the weekend I wiped my hard drive and did a total clean instal of Leopard (not Snow Leopard) - total clean meaning I had to find all my serial numbers when reinstalling apps. A lot of work.
The problems with InDesign have cleared up, but my Acrobat problem remains. However, I have isolated the problem: it occurs after I have done an "Examine document..." and removed all metadata and other stuff, then resaved the file. I close the saved file and the file closes leaving an empty window (same as a Microsoft Windows window). The little clock mouse icon spins wildly around (forever), I tell Acrobat to either close this window or quit, and it crashes.
Acrobat closes other "unexamined" documents without any problems and thus I have been able to save my toolbars...
Anyone else have this crashing problem? Does anyone have a solution?
Note: if anyone else does a total reinstal of Leopard from Snow Leopard then export your iCal calendars first. They were the only things I lost and this loss was (fortunately) no big deal as they were backed up elsewhere in Leopard.

  • How to print to PDF using HP Laserjet 4100 & Acrobat Pro 8.1.1.?

Since updating system to 10.5, the Print to PDF feature does not seem to work anymore.
Have reinstalled software. Downloaded the Acrobat 8 Pro Patch, but it doesn't recognize the installed software, so I can't upgrade what's on my system.
Printer reaction is a pause. What to do???

First your not uptodate Acrobat and Reader of that vintage last update was 8.1.3.
Next: Go to Printer Utility and remove AdobePDF Print Driver.
Then open Raeder or Acrobat and go to Help Menu.
scroll down to Repair-Replace. Click on the AdobePdf printer only. and run
now try to create a PDF. If works Its fixed.
If not try repair permissions with Disk Utility. Se if works now.
If not go to web Browser and look for AppleJack a low level Repair Utility, down load, install. (download version for your System OSX.3, OSX.4, OSX.5, etc.)
Next go into Single User Mode and after B&W screen comes up and you have a Blinking Block cursor. Type applejack.
Run each option in order. not on several you run for system , then User.
Some items take a long time to complete. especial when repair in low level files systems
after last item has been run follow instructions to quit and reboot.
note: after this run and you boot computer has to rebuild clean cache file and may take a while to boot up. seeing the winder, blue screen, and even rebulding of Dock and Main menu.
Once complete. Computer should for a time run much faster.
Now try to create a PDF and see what happens.
If that doesn't work you may have to uninstall and reinstall and run all updates before doing anything.
If none of this works. Come back and let us know

  • "Print to PDF" w/ Acrobat Pro 8 on Mac 10.6

    I have the following:
MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.3
    Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional
Customer support told me to post my question here, so this is what I am doing.
I have a 800+ page pdf file open in Acrobat 8 Pro.  I want to "print" several non-consecutive pages from that file to another pdf file.  So, for example, when want to print pages 170, 171-175, 186-197, I select file>print, then type in these selected pages.  Then I change the printer selector to "Adobe PDF 8"  (Note that this name has an exclamation point icon in front of it, which to me is a red flag).  When I hit "print" to create the new pdf, the job is sent to my printer where it sits as paused.  I can't get it to "print to pdf".
I tried printing to pdf from the web but ran into the same problem.
I have used Acrobat on Windows for years and I know that I should be able to do what I am trying to do.  Not sure why I can't do it.  Read a post about Snow Leopard blocking the pdf printer, but not sure if that is correct.  If it is correct, there has to be some work-around that will allow me to efficiently do what I want to do.  Or is there something known that Mac support can do to help me?
This is such a basic function of Acrobat I can't believe that there is not some way to do it.  But if there is not some way to do it, it will be VERY disappointing.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

    Will this help you:
