Acrobat 9.2 professional errors

I have windows 7 home premium 64 bit version.
downloaded 9.2 acrobat professional and receiving errors when trying to scan from my HP scanner 5590.
Cannot communicate errors.
I tried the windows driver and the hp driver, both same error.
The scanner works with free pdf software.
Any ideas what is causing this problem?
Is there a list of combatible scanners for adobe pro version 9 ?
thanks,
dave

Bill,
I used the windows version when I connected the scanner.
Then I installed the HP 64 bit drivers then i installed the full HP program with drivers.
I tested after each install and reboot, same errors.
thanks,
dave

  • I have Acrobat 7.0 Professional loaded on Windows 7; No Printer & error msgs

I have Adobe Acrobate 7.0 Professional, loaded onto a new Dell Inspiron N5010 clone where I have Windows 7. I installed the Acrobat successfully, but the virtual printer does not show up as an available printer in my Devices & Printers.  Also when I click on the desktop icon for Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional, I get these error messages:   There was an error while loading the plug-in 'Accessibility.api'. The plug-in failed to initialize.  Then when I click on the OK button, I get another pop-up window saying:  There was an error while loading the plug-in 'AcroForm.api'.  The plug-in failed to initialize.  Then when I click on the OK button, I get a final pop-up window saying: There was an error while loading the plug-in Annots.api. The plug-in failed to initialize.  Anybody ever get this set of issues???, and if so....Help!  I would be ever so grateful.  I am worried that Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional is incompatible with Windows 7.  I know that if so, it might mean I need to buy 9.0.  Can I just upgrade?  Is that less costly?  Many thanks to anyone who can offer some advice.  ---DMN

Further to this original post ---  OK, I uninstalled and then reinstalled the program, to no avail.  I did however get a message which I had gotten before but since I was not yet aware that the program got installed with any problems, I had not noticed... This time I took notice.  The error message was clearly what it is about, at least to a great extent.  I got this message:  Warning 20225: Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Setup was unable to create a new item:  Adobe PDF Port Printer may be unavailable.  GetLastError:  The operation completed successfully.  So then after the reinstallation, I went into Control Panel, Printers & Drivers and made a valiant attempt to manually install a virtual printer port.  I have Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional installed in another computer on which I have Windows XP Pro (yes the only other computer--  I am permitted two installations for this program--  I confirmed this with Adobe), by looking at Properties and copying down exactly the text, etc. which described the names of the two possible ports, etc.  Tried to "tell" my new computer (the one which has Windows 7) that it should set up and/or look for such a virtual port, again to no avail.  I am amazed that Adobe does not allow me to even pay cash money for tech support, but they wouldn't do it.  I guess you can have just so many employees who know the programs, etc.  Anyway, as I said before I may just break down and buy the 9.0 version which the Adobe techie told me is indeed compatable with Windows 7.  He did not tell me that Windows 7 was incompatible with Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional but that 8.0 is indeed incompatible.  Just googled the term "Warning 20225" along with some relevant buzz words.  I can see there is still a bit of tweaking I may be able to do before I cry "uncle!"

  • Acrobat 9.0 Professional Runtime Error

    Hi There
I'm an IT support analyst at a large college trying to resolve this current issue with Acrobat 9.0 Professional
I have installed it on two machines on campus and i can't even get the program to load......... everytime the user click's on the icon it flags up with a "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Error"
Flags it up as the acrobat.exe which has the issue, when you look into the issue more it informs me saying their is an error with a specific .dll file "MSVCR80.dll". The current AppVer is 9.0.0.332 and ModVer 8.0.50727.4053. I have had a look on the forums to see if anyone else is getting an error like this and i cant seem to find anything in relation to this issue.
I have checked security permission's, cleared the users local profiles, rebuilt the machines and reinstalled it but keeps flagging up with the same issue. I dont know if anyone knows of this error or knows of a solution on how to get this resolved but any feedback at all would be grateful.
    Regards
    Mike

    Thanks for that SimonATS
Had a look and have resolved the issue thanks to your post, I ran adobe under an admin account (which allows access due to allowing permissions on top level) ran the updates under the "Help" tab and upgraded it to 9.2, then ran perfect !
If anyone else experiences this issue would suggest running updates, but if you cant run the program full stop ! would suggest SimonATS suggestion, that will get you back up and running

  • Acrobat 6.0 Professional Install Error

    Hello,
I just did a fresh install of Windows XP Home Edition, and when I attempted to reinstall Acrobat 6.0 Professional I received the following error message approximately 85-90% into the install process: "Internal error 2753. Dist_acrodist.exe"
Does anyone know what this error is and how I can overcome it and get Acrobat reinstalled?
    Many thanks!
    Scott

    Scott,
Did you ever get past the error? If so, how? I'm getting the same error on reinstall.

"No headers or footer ware added because Acrobat encountered an unidentified error." in adobe professional 6.0, what to do with this error?

My suggestion is that you reconsider whether your in Non-Drop frame. NTSC standard is Dropframe 29.97. I'm afraid you may have this backwards. DVX100's default to dropframe (29.97fps) in the USA. FCP could be encountering a pulldown cadence every few minutes because it expects a frame drop that is not there.
Remember the frame drop only occurs every few minutes so this makes sense. With standard NTSC capture (not 24fps pulldown removal) such dropped frames don't mess anything up. They just subtly shift the timing and sync of the audio track. You could have captured this way for years and rarely seen a problem with short clips. When doing a pulldown removal, a missing or in your case extra frame can confuse the pulldown removal system as it expects to find the video encoded in 29.97 rather than 30fps.

  • Can I make PDF from xlsx file with Acrobat 8.0 professional?

I'm using Windows 7 Professional (32-bit OS) with Microsoft Office 2007 Basic and have Acrobat 8.0 Professional. Newly installed on replacement computer (deactivated and reactivated license). Don't see PDF icon in any Microsoft Office software. Got great help in getting 8.0 added as a printer devise at SevenForums.com. But when I try to print (since I don't see the PDFMaker icon I'm going via PRINT), it gives me an "Error Printing" message. That got me to thinking and wondering if I can create a PDF using 8.0 Pro to convert these new style MSO file tags (xlsx, docx, and such)? When I tried to UPDATE, message said "There are no updates available at this time." I really don't want to update Pro to the 8.3 anyway mainly because when I had previously updated to 8.3, stuff just got a bit whacky. Any suggestions? Thanks for feedback.

Thank you Dave and Bill for feedback. I know that I'm using older technology with newer technology but for now that's what I've got to work with. I knew Acrobat would eventually stop supported AA8, so I've saved various update patches throughout the years. My earliest is AcrobatUpd814_all_incr.msp. Wondering if I can get earlier upgrade patch because am getting the below error message. Also, via periodic backup's I've noticed that I do have a lot of *.rtp (A_AcroForm_api_811.rtp and M_ACROBATPROFESSIONAL_8_0_HOMEPAGE_html4_810.rtp). Can I use this some how if I cannot find the earlier upgrade patches? Thanks, I know long shots.

  • Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Pro error

    Hello.
I have a persisting problem with Acrobat 8.0 professional with the only user of a single licence in our company. Since we needed to change our hardware I've deactivated it on the old computer with no problem and installed it on a new one (OS is WinXP SP3, full administrator rights). The problem is it doesn't want to activate properly - when you've done installing and run it the first time you are redirected to a 'Introduction to Adobe Acrobat 8.0' window where it doesn't display anything, then after a few seconds pops up a message 'A serious error has been detected... Please reinstall.' and closes the application.
I've tried fixing the problem as instructed in Adobe KB article http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/402/kb402427.html but it doesn't work at all. The file is uncorrupted, reinstalling and/or repairing has been tried five times and it doesn't work. I've also thought that our proxy server was denying it access to internet and used the IP that has free access to outside www with no success-
I've also tried a 'trick' from another site that said to move the adobe_00080000_tsf.data file from the FlexNet folder and it actually allowed me to activate the product (the Activate button in Help section actually turned black but is greyed out at any other attempt) but the problem presists.
The user uses the product all the time and cannot work without it so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes on both accounts. We're running Sophos and I've shut down the process that auto-starts and runs it in the background. The user herself is an administrator and I've tried both on her account and the root workstation administrator with no success.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro Update Error

I have a new laptop, WIndows 7, and installed owned version of Acrobat 9.0 Professional (version 9.0.0)
When I go to the Update on the Help dropdown, I get an error that the Adobe Install Manager has Stopped.
How do I get updates applied??

I would suggest you download from the most recent backwards, then install from the first to last. That way you will be able to tell if you can skip any updates (each update indicate the previous version required). Also, you should only have to reboot after the last update is complete -- saving a lot of time with reboots, one of the biggest hassles.

  • Acrobat 7.0 professional pdf binders issue

I have adobe acrobat 7.0 professional and this feature
stopped working:: to make a pdf of multiple files, like word docs.
it does compined many esisting PDFs into one binder, not like it
used to do to combine several mixed docments to a PDF binder. I had

repair mode, then still does not work.
    OS: Windows XP;
    Browser: IE

    IT look at and reinstall,

I just answered this question in http://forums.adobe.com/message/4251547#4251547. Basically you should be able to create a PDF (assuming you are not using a 64-bit system and then I have no clue), but not in the automated way you are used to doing. The first step would be to change the printer port for the Adobe PDF printer (assuming the driver got installed) to file. Then when you print or use PDF Maker, it will ask you for the file name. It will create a PS file (may have a prn extension) that you have to open in Distiller to complete the rest of the conversion. A bit of extra work, but workable. You are looking at a Win7 issue that has caused major problems for many software vendors, not just Adobe. The newer versions of Windows seem to ignore a lot of compatibility needs. Don't forget that with VISTA they had to add the help system back in because their own MS Office needed it.

You need to install a special version using a special serial number... see the following:

    Hi joej49728017,
I am so sorry for the inconvenience caused. However this is just because Adobe Acrobat 7.0 is an outdated version & the now the activation server for it does not exist.
Please refer to the following KB doc.  Error: "Activation Server Unavailable" | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3
The above link will help you to  install a special version that does not require activation.
In case you further need any help, please let us know. We will be more than happy to help you.

  • Adobe PDF Port_Printer didn't install with re-installation of Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional.

A new Windows 7 OS was installed on my computer and I've had to re-load Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional.  Everything loaded except for Adobe PDF Printer.  Error message: Warning 20225. The first version of Acrobat to support Windows 7 is version 9.2 - so this is why you are encountering issues. To troubleshooting the problem, you might find this article helpful Error "Warning 20225" or no PDF Printer appears.

  • Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional Suddenly Closes

I just reinstalled Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional on a new XP SP2 machine and I have never been able to get it to stay open longer that about 5 seconds before it closes with no error message. I reinstalled it a few times, no luck. I've installed the acrobat upgrade, no luck. I had no problems with the install. I do not have any other adobe product installed. I do not have a virus program running.
I've seen solutions to this for those with ver. 8 running Vista. I have neither.
    Thanks

    Have you "activated" your software?
That could be your problem if you haven't.
