Acrobat 9.5.2 Update virus threat

AVG identifies PrintInf64.exe as a virus threat. Should I quarantine or delete it? Is the update safe?

I guess you are working on a 64 bit machine.
This file is safe for usage. Not sure why AVG is identifying it as virus.
One thing at best you can do is to delete this file and repair your Acrobat from Programs in Control Panel. This might ensure that even if this file got corrupted while installation of 9.5.2 update, the correct one gets placed.
What OS are you working upon?

  • Acrobat 9.5.4 update introduced Trojan Horse Generic31.COFB

I allowed Acrobat 9 to update to 9.5.4 this morning.  During the process AVG identified Trojan Horse Generic31.COFB in the file JP2KLib.dll.  Is this a false positive or is this file truley infected right from Adobe?

I contacted AVG technical support and verified this is a false positive from a virus definition update they pushed out overnight.  They will be sending out an updated virus definition update that will resolve this from being falsely detected.  Thanks.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9.3.2 Update - can no longer see PCs on network (e.g. ping/offer remote assistance)

Hello - I just did the Adobe Acrobat 9.3.2 update in two different offices and the strangest thing happened while finishing 4 computers today.
I did the restart after installing the last update - 9.3.2 - and I can not connect to the computers again.
The workstations are Windows XP Pro SP3..on a SBS2003 network.  The computers restart and the users can log back into the network and have no problems accessing network resources, Internet, etc.  The only problem is that I can not ping the workstations from the server...I can not connect to the workstations from the server either.  It's very strange how this has happened to the last 4 workstations today - when I had no problems with the other workstations yesterday.
I had the users restart the workstations several times - no luck - even shutdown/restart - no luck.
I am not in the offices to troubleshoot further in person....but I can have somebody be my "hands" onsite if need be.
Has anyone come across this before and know how to fix it - fingers crossed!!
    Thanks!
    Tammy

  • I can no longer "send for signature" in Acrobat XI after Echosign update.

I can no longer "send for signature" in Acrobat XI after Echosign update. Now when I click that option, up comes a box that asks me to enter the recipients email and their name. I did a test and it send it to the recipient without me being able to add signature boxes for the recipient in Echosign. It used to upload the document to Echosign and then I could position the recipients signature boxes before sending to them for their signatures...By the way, I use a Macbook Pro.

I want to clarify. When I make a document (in my case a real estate form) I click the "sign" tab in Acrobat XI then "get others to sign." A blue box pops up and says "uploading to Echosign." This is normal so far. At this point, before the recent Echosign update, my browser would automatically open up to the Echosign website and show my document that was just uploaded. Then I was able to position signature boxes for the recipients. Now what happens is a box comes up on my screen and just wants me to send the recipient an email. See photo...

  • Unable to install Acrobat 8.2 Standard update

I'm trying to install Adobe Acrobat Standard 8.2 update and it always fails with the error"Internal Error 2254. , Registry"
I have tried this on both Windows 2000 and XP and get the same error.
Prior to the patch install, the product version was 8.1.7
The same patch also applies to Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 and I was able to install it without any issue.

Are you doing this manually by going to the update site and downloading the update, or by the Adobe automatic update process?

  • Adobe Acrobat 9.3.4 Update Question

I just applied the update to take adobe acrobat from 9.3.3 to 9.3.4, but my Acrobat.exe didn't update to the correct version number.  Acrobat.dll did, as did the support info and the various registry keys went to 9.3.4.  Can someone provide some assistance as to why the Acrobat.exe would not update to the correct version?  I've ran the patch as administrator downloaded from adobe.com, from the Check for new versions with in acrobat with the same results.  i plan on trying as a startup script to reduce the amount of processes in use, but i don't think that will help.  Any ideas?
    Thanks.
    Mike C.

Did you reboot after applying the Update? I had to when I applied the 9.3.4 update.

  • Acrobat 9.5.1 update on Windows XP Error 1321 solutions don't work

Acrobat 9.5.1 update on Windows XP Error 1321 solutions don't work. I can't uninstall program. Error upon error.

    Hi John,
I'm trying to install the SunMC 3.5.1 Console on
Windows XP with not much success. The install
displays the initial splash screen, but then fails
    with the error :
    The install wizard cannot proceed.
Aborting installation now...First, are you installing from a complete SunMC CD or CD image? If you just copied some files out of a CD/image you may have missed some jar files.
SunMC Consoles don't like to share systems with older versions of themselves. Try moving/renaming the directory your 3.5 Console is installed in (or uninstall it if you don't need it),... then try putting 3.5.1 in again.
All my demos/work/courses are on 3.5.1 on an XP laptop, so I know it works.
I think it's probably just not happy about 3.5 already being installed... so just move it out of the way for awhile to get 3.5.1 in (then put 3.5 back so you can have them both).
    Regards,
    Mike
The Java version is 1.4.2_03 .
The Release Notes etc don't give any clues.
Strangely, SunMC 3.5 works fine on this desktop..
Any ideas as to where I can go from here? This is
effectively stopping me from going from SMC 3.5 to
3.5.1, unless I can get the Console working..
Has anyone else had problems with SMC 3.5.1 on XP?
    Thanks in advance.
    John

  • Acrobat pro 9.0 update needed

I own a DVD set of CS3 Design Standard for Mac, including a second DVD named CS3.3 including Acrobat 9.
I could not access the DVDs with the Remote Drive function of OSX (I am on a Macbook Air now, without DVD drive). Thus I downloaded CS3 from Adobe and entered the serial number. Works. However, I cannot update to 3.3/Acrobat 9 as there is no download available from Adobe for Mac.
Using a proper external DVD drive should work, I guess - if I can get hold of one, not much motivated to buy one, though.
Or is there another possibility of updating?
    Many thanks in advance.

    Jeff, thanks.
    I'll try the USB thing.
However, I do not think that this is aspecific  Acrobat issue, as the
original CS3 DVD didn't work either through remote, so I downloaded it
    from Adobe, which worked fine.

  • Acrobat 7.1.0 update install error

    Hello there,
there is some error encountered when install acrobat 7.1.0 update in my laptop run on win7 64bit OS.  I run the update application as admin but problem remain.
the screen shot of error message is presented below
Look forward to your advice.  Thanks

    Thanks for reply
I purchased acrobat 7.1.0 standard two year ago.
The problem is there is some pdf files that can be open by acrobat reader 9 (free version) but show to be damaged using acrobat standard 7.
I thought all it need is an update.rather than upgrade.

  • Acrobat 7 - Check for updates ends at 7.1.0

While updting some older copies of Acrobat I noticed that the Check for updates now... feature in Acrobat 7 only shows updates available up to 7.1.0. Three newer udates are available, 7.1.1, 7.1.3 and 7.1.4. Since I see this behavior on multiple machines I assume this is standard behavior for Acrobat 7 Update Manager per Adobe. If that's the case this kinda defeats the purpose of having a check for updates comand in the app if users have to go manually download the updates anyway. Can anyone shed any light on what's up?

Acrobat 8 was introduced at the time of the 7.1.0 Update.
There were no added features were in the updates after.
And most of the updates that followed were bug fixes and security updates.
the very most recent ones were security Updates.
Most "Reputable" Software companies will do Security Fixes on software for many years until they feel that no one is or should be using that product.
Its just recent that Apple has stopped supporting OSX.4.11. (Now I've got to find X.5 to put on the slow computer myself.)

  • Acrobat Professional 9 and Acrobat Reader 9: cannot update, remove, or re-install ...

After I have downloaded Acrobat Professional 9.0 updates and Acrobat Reader 9 updates, both update installations fail.
    Acrobat Reader 9 problems
I thought that there could be a conflict between Acrobat Reader 9, which I have also installed, and Acrobat Professional 9.0, so I tried to remove Acrobat Reader 9, but the patch package could not be found. I then ran the Windows Install Cleanup tool, but Acrobat Reader 9 is still on my system. I now cannot reinstall it, nor can I really remove it
I’d like to remove Acrobat Reader 9 entirely because I already have Acrobat Professional 9.0, but how?
    Acrobat Professional 9.0 problems
When I try to remove Acrobat Professional 9.0 in order to re-install it from disk, I get the message that the patch package could not be found. When I insert the disk to try to repair Acrobat Professional 9.0, I get the message that the patch package could not be opened. When I try to use the Repair Acrobat Installation option in the Help menu of the program, nothing happens.
I’m hesitant to run the Windows Install Cleanup tool on Acrobat Professional 9.0 because of the problems I got with Acrobat Reader 9 after running the Windows Install Cleanup tool.
How can I re-install Acrobat Professional 9.0 from disk?

    Amanda,
As Van says, yes you can have both seleced at the same time. I suspect there are other issues on your machine that are creating your problems. FWIW, I too have been running FM9 on a win7 64-bit platform with no issues.
The Roaming Profile is used typicaly with remote logins across a WAN (wide area network), however, application specific gets stored there - depending upon the application. Since you've seemed to have resolved the issue by deleting (or disabling the profile, i.e. the apps won't look there) the Roaming profile folder, it sounds like there might have been something corrupt or erroneous in the Acrobat data folders. When you installed your FM versions, did you deselect the accompanying PDFcreator option? If not and you had an existing Acrobat installation, then some items would have been overwritten, creating some issues for you.

  • I want to know that, is mozilla scans computer in order to protect from virus threats, cause last night mozill do with me same, is it a feature of mozilla or another kind fraud by someone else.

    dear sir/ma'm
Last night i was surfing web, suddenly the webpage i was surfing disappeared and another page came, which was showing warning that your computer is running some suspected processes and mozilla is scanning your computer for viruse threats, please do not interrupt the process, and within a few moment so many virus list came in front of me, and then came a message click on button start potection, and a binary file also started downloading while i did not said to do so. cause i've an antivirus hence i closed the firefox and scanned my computer and antivirus show it free of viruses.
i want to know what is it??????

Sites like that depend upon JavaScript. I use the NoScript add-on which by default will disable JavaScript, and allows you to specify what sites you want JavaScript to run on. It takes a while to get NoScript set up so that you can have JavaScript enabled on the sites that you use often. There is a bit of work involved but I prefer the added protection that the add-on gives - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/noscript/
Also make sure you have up-to-date anti-virus and anti-malware software installed. I use the free Microsoft Security Essentials - http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/default.aspx

Acrobat Pro won't update from 10.1.6 to 10.1.7, any tips, on Mac…?

    One of two things:
    1.  Go to the Terminal App and type the word "sudo" and hit the Enter/Return key.  If it comes back with a permissions error then seek from Apple to correct it.
    2.  If there is no permissions error in the Terminal app then go to the installation log at "/var/log/install.log" or "/private/var/log/install.log".  Open it up and see if you find an error about failing to write to the file:
./postinstall: Error in converting the plist /Library/Preferences/com.adobe.PDFAdminSettings.plist to xml1 format
If you get the error above then delete the file at the location and try updating again
