Acrobat 9 console shift enter / command enter does not work to run code.

I am sure I am going to feel really stupid when someone answers this but I cannot get the console to run anything. All is turned on in preferences but ShiftEnter doesn't do anything highlighted or not and CmdEnter same thing. This is on a mac osx maverick. The stupid thing is that I just want to find the path to the javascript folder to install flatten.js and then I started going down the rabbit hole. Even Google held no hope. Would appreciate any assistance. Thx.

On full keyboards with a numeric keypad, the key above the right shift is "return" & the one on the numeric section is "enter." On a Mac (or Apple IIgs ) they do have separate functions. On the "mini" keyboards, both names are on the same key, but "enter" is written in smaller letters. I'll have to check to see how that works on another Mac later today.

Shift-Command-R does not work anymore

Hello all,
I've noticed that the shortcut shift-command-r does not work anymore on my macbook pro. I used it for the calendar to refresh all calendars, and its also handy to open the reader in safari 5.
When I open the keyboard viewer from the language and text menu I can see it when I press shift, then command but when I press "R" nothing changes, only shift+command stay highlighted. Other letters do work, so its a bit strange.
Anyone know a solution for this?

Nope thats not the problem, the listening key is Esc. It is as if the keyboard does not register it when the R is pressed in combination with the shift and the command together. As I said, the keyboard viewer shows every keystroke except the shift-command-r combi.

Connect the iPod to irs syncing computer and restore via iTunes/ Place the iPod in Recovery mode if necessary to allow the restore.

Try troubleshooting the Safari .plist file.
Quit Safari.
Open a Finder window. Select your Home Folder in the Sidebar on the left. It has a small house icon. Then open the Library folder then the Preferences folder.
Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop. Relaunch Safari. Try a bookmark.
If that didn't help, check Safari / Preferences then select the Extensions tab. If you have any installed, turn that off, quit then relaunch Safari.
If Extensions aren't the issue, reset Safari. From the menu bar click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons, click Reset.

I have a MacBook Air using Maverick. I have files in the trash I want to recover. I do not have "Put Back" and Command Delete does not work.

Drag them out of the Trash and put them in their original location. Put Back may work on one file at a time.

Command "S" Does Not Work To Save Work In Any Application

Hi. For some reason that I haven't figured out yet, holding down the command key with "S" as the keyboard command shortcut does not activate the SAVE menu in Photoshop CS2 or MS Word. It used to work and of course the "S" key and command keys work fine in other keyboard commands except this one. I am using an iBook G4.
Does something have to be activated in preferences somewhere to fix this?
Anyone else have this glitch?

Hi Niel. Sure enough, I went into Speech sys preferences and Com + S was the keyboard shortcut. I changed it to an unrelated one. However when I went into PS CS2, I selected Com S and I got the Save As dialog box popup. I went into the Keyboard Shortcuts menu under Edit and Com + S was listed for Save and Save As was Com Shift S. I went ahead and deleted the Save As keyboard shortcut, but I'm still having trouble getting Com S to just Save. Of course I can do it with the mouse, but I would still like to use the correct key command. Any more ideas what might be going on?

Alt shift clear paragraph overrides does not work

This is one of those little things that is becoming very frustrating-- crtl +shift+ click on paragraph style does not work all the time. It worked for me last week, but is not working today-- or it actually does work after click about 3 times , clicking another style and clicking back on the correct style. Anyone experiencing this/know a fix or what I may be doing wrong? I am doing as it says, holding those keys down and clicking the style.

It shouldn't work at all. Those modifiers are for the clear overrides button at the bottom of the styles palette. Alt-click on the style name to clear all overrides. I believe this is different behaviour from CS2 (or am I thinking of CS) where alt-click cleared character overrides and alt-shft-click cleared everything.

Command+S does not work

When I am running any program in Snow Leopard (Word, Safari, Lightroom...etc) and I press command+S to Save it never works. Every other command works to Close, Quit or Save As but just Save does not work. It did not work also in Leopard before I upgraded to Snow Leopard.

you probably have some keyboard shortcut set somewhere that takes over command+s.
check your keyboard system preferences->keyboard shortcuts. if there is nothing there run the following terminal command and log out/in
rm ~/library/preferences/.Global*

Windows 7 Defrag from command line does not work

We are running Windows 7 in a virtualized environment. When running windows defrag using schedule or from command line, it does not work. The command that I am executing as administrator is
C:\Windows\system32>defrag /c

It displays the above message and exits back to the command prompt. However if I run the command defrag C: it does work. Defragmenting from the GUI works as well as long as both the disks (C: and System Reserved) are selected and when I click on
Defragment disks, works fine.
I am concerned about defrag running from the task scheduler with the command "defrag /c" (auto scheduled using Configure Schedule... from Disk Defragmenter) does not work and the system never gets defragmented automatically.
This happens only with some of the windows 7 VM's that we have.
There are no entries in Event Log that point to the defrag (using task scheduler). Any ideas what may be going on?

Could you defrag as below method:
1. Open Disk Defragmenter by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type
Disk Defragmenter, and then, in the list of results, click
Disk Defragmenter.
2.Under Current status, select the disk you want to defragment.
3.To determine if the disk needs to be defragmented or not, click Analyze disk. Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Once Windows is finished analyzing the disk, you can check the percentage of fragmentation on the disk in the
Last Run column. If the number is above 10%, you should defragment the disk.
4.Click Defragment disk. Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Shift + enter does not open library selection

No matter how I try to open iTunes - shift + left-click, highlighting the icon (or program in Explorer) and then shift + enter, iTunes only opens the last opened library. I am not getting the dialogue box that lets me choose which library I want to open.
Windows 7 Home Premium + iTunes 10.7.0.21

The way that I find works is to click the icon that launches iTunes from the start menu (or double-click one on the desktop) and immediately press and hold down the left shift key. Keep holding until asked to create or choose a library. If iTunes opens normally, close and try again.

We have an EP7 SP11 with a problem:
After the user puts his name/password on the logon screen, he hits "enter" key.
However the logon screen does not do anything.
So he has to use the mouse to click the "log on" button so that he can log into EP.

that's strange. I just checked with my portal and it is working fine. What kind of browser are you using? Did you modify the logon screen? Is it working with Firefox?

Command R does not work

Model name: IMAC
Processor: 2.5 GHZ
Memory 4 GB
Storage capacity: 500 GB
the computer has two operating systems, Mac and windows. My Mac was OS lion mountain that I upgraded to Yosemite. I manged to damage both operating systems. after 3 days of work I fixed the window but no lock with Yosemite. I have tried everything as much as my knowledge let me. I am in a loop, the time machine runs into an issue that I cannot go further, the reinstall not possible since function "command + R" does no do anything and the other option out of four choices that I don't remember its name (my memory is not that good), I can only use the help function. when I restart the system when it is on window OS, Yosemite is not there to be one of the options. I can only go to yosemite if I insert the memory stick of back up, then I "option" function to enter the system but that is as far as it goes and only can ask for help out of those four options that Yosemite offers. I like to be able to go where system takes you through pressing "cammand + R" and reinstall the OS.
