Acrobat 9: Editing Bookmark Actions Globally

Acrobat 9 Pro; MacBook Pro
I'm working with Bookmarks, and I want to change the 'fit page' to 'fit width'. I'm aware that I am able to right click on a bookmark I have created to change the action properties for each individual bookmark, but is this option available for globally altering this action setting for more than one at a time?

You may need to try a plugin like this one called AutoBookmark:

Acrobat 9.3.4 crashes when editing bookmarks

Working in Acrobat Pro 9.3.4 on a Mac, system 10.6.4. Have been combining pdf files using the "Combine Files" feature in Acrobat. I need to edit bookmarks (assign & remove), as well as crop and delete some pages in the files I'm working on. The program continually crashes when I delete bookmarks, and occasionally when I add them. I have to try up to 4 or 5 times before I can successfully delete the bookmarks I need to and move on. It will eventually work, but takes a lot more effort than it should. I'm not sure if I should toss some preferences, or even which ones to toss, or if there are any other helpful options out there for me. Thoughts?

Mine is doing the same. Ever since the 9.3.4 update my Mac Adobe Acrobat Pro will crash (beachball) whenever editing, such as adding bookmarks, or scrolling down the pages of file. Have tried multiple times to contact Adobe, but with no luck, and no call back or response. Considering moving to a different PDF platform if I cannot obtain technical help through Adobe.

When I combine multiple pdf files into a single binder, Acrobat creates a bookmark for each file. In the properties for each bookmark, there is an action created to go to the page in the document and has the zoom level at "fit width". Question is, how do I change this apparent default zoom level to "fit page" when Acrobat creates the bookmarks when combining the pdf files?

Is there a way to do it in one step instead of individually on each bookmark? This gets VERY cumbersome when I have upwards of a hundred bookmarks to change.

8.0 "Previous Document" BOOKMARK Action

The "Previous Document" Command from the (Execute a menu item) BOOKMARK ACTIONS does not seem to work in either Adobe 8.0 (professional or reader). Can anybody think of a solution to this problem or lead me down the right path? The feature works fine from the Dropdown menu & with the Key Stroke Alt>Shift>Left Arrow. Thanks

I have experienced the same problem, except that it only occurs if I move to a different page in the target document before selecting the bookmark to return to the prior document. The only solution I have found so far is to use Acrobat 7.0 or Acrobat Reader 7.0.9, in which the bookmark will work.
I called Adobe Product Support today to ask about the problem, but they could not help me because I was using the trial version of 8.0 (I already own 7.0, and will only update if this problem is fixed, so it is a Catch-22 situation.

Bookmark action goto page document

Acrobat Pro XI.
I try to create a bookmark action by right-clicking and selecting pro. When perusing the Actions-panel of the Bookmark Properties I cannot find a way to replace the default Action "Go to a page in this document" by an action "Go to page in another document".
According to the documentation you should have this option

How can I proceed?

It's the same action. When you add it and the floating window with the "Set
Link" button appears open the other file, scroll to the location you want
to link to and then click the "Set Link" button. The link will
automatically point to the other file, using relative file paths, so if you
move the first file you have to move the other one with it.

Edit bookmarks font size

Safari 7 had the right size font for the edit bookmarks page, but Safari 8 uses several sizes larger font which throws the list of folder off the bottom of the page and moving individual links is tedious as you have to hold it to the top or bottom if the folder is off the display. I would like to reset it to the size used with Safari 7. Is there a setting for it or a way to resize the font when I open the page?

Unfortunately, the font size cannot be modified in Safari but there are some alternatives.
1. Try a different display resolution. Open System Preferences > Displays > Display > Scaled
2. Try Zoom in System Preferences > Accessibility

Copy and Paste While Editing Bookmarks

I am having a problem on my iPad 2 (ios5) copying and pasting while trying to edit bookmarks. I can copy and paste in the name of the bookmark, but cannot on the web address. This has become a problem because I would like to use a bookmarklet and I need to copy and paste the long code. Has anyone else had this issue and fixed it? The bookmarklet I am trying to use is called dotepub and it converts any web page to an epub format. I was shown this by an Apple employee and it worked great for him and will not for me. Thanks for any help.

This does require some manual dexterity.
Defcom's solution is a lot more elegant with the features iChat has.

WHEN I ADD AN IMAGE INTO A .PDF THE GRIP HANDLES DO NOT ALLOW ME TO RESIZE THE IMAGE.
INSTEAD I GET BLUE LINES ALONG THE SIDE THAT I CLICK ON AND THE WHOLE IMAGE MOVES WITHOUT RESIZING.
IT WORKED PROPERLY A FEW DAYS AGO NOW I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG.

With the bookmark changes of Safari 6.1 , when you drag a bookmark into a bookmark folder in Safari's "Edit Bookmarks" mode, the display suddenly and uncontrollably bounces back to the top of the bookmark list, losing your place. This makes it impossible to resume editing your collection without scrolling down any extensive list of bookmark folders and subfolders to pick up where you left off.
The "Edit Bookmarks" mode has also taken away the ability to view and edit your bookmarks in a sort of column view. Before, when editing bookmarks, you could click on a bookmarks folder in pane to the left, and the sub-folders and/or bookmarks for that specific bookmark folder would display inn a list in the main window. Removing this ability again forces ridiculous amounts of scrolling to organize extensive collections of bookmarks and bookmark subfolders.
I use bookmark folders and subfolders extensively and constantly to organize research. These present a a big and annoying problem for me.
Does anyone have a solution I'm missing?

In Firefox 4, "Organize Bookmarks" has been changed to "Show All Bookmarks" to open the Library window.

The bar directly located under the main bar where the edit, bookmark, etc is gone. How do I get it back.

Under the The blue mozilla firefox bar, where the Edit, bookmark, etc is missing. I was playing around one day and deleted it. i really need it to continue bookmarking and editing and copying text.

In Firefox 3.6 and later on Windows you can hide the "Menu Bar" via "View > Toolbars" or via the right-click context menu on a toolbar.
Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the "Menu Bar" or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide (click on an entry to toggle the state).

Acrobat 8 / Incorrect Bookmark Font

When I create bookmarks in Acrobat 8, the bookmark font defaults to an Asian font -- one of the Apple-provided system fonts originally installed. See screenshot below:
I'm creating the bookmark by highlighting words using the text-selection cursor and then Command+B.
What's interesting is that if I type right over the bookmark that I just created, it converts to an English font.
I have to bookmark eight very long manuals with a total of about 2000 bookmarks. I can't sit and retype each bookmark after I create it so that they all display in English.
I can't find any way to control the default bookmark font.
Anyone have any idea what's going on, and what I can do to correct it? I believe that uninstalling all Asian-language fonts isn't an optoin as they are required by the system, as that's how the system software was originally installed.
Thanks for any advice or suggestions you can offer.

I never got this figured out. I had to manually type every single entry to change it from the Asian font to English.
At least now I know that I'm not the only one dealing with this bug. It's too bad no one else has been able to offer a solution.

Press ALT or F10 in your keyboard to make the Menu Bar temporarily visible. If you want it to be permanently visible, go into ''View > Toolbars > Menu Bar'', or right-click the Navigation Toolbar (the Reload button, for example) and select ''Menu Bar''.
If this doesn't help, right-click the navigation toolbar, select ''Customize...'' and click ''Restore Default Set''. If it doesn't appear right away, try pressing ALT or F10. You can go into ''View > Toolbars > Menu Bar'' to make it permanently visible, or right-click the Navigation Toolbar and select ''Menu Bar''.
If none of this helps, you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Try disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal.

Making Employment status field editable in Actions infotype

Hi All,
Can we make the Employment status or Customer specific status editable in Actions Infotype 0000?
I tried doing that in 'Change Screen modification' in IMG, but it isn't working.
Please provide your inputs.

It is not possile to do it.
Each action is assigned the three status indicators STAT1 (customer defined), STAT2 (employment), STAT3 (special payment) in the customizing system.
When a personnel action record is created, the system automatically fills the Customer defined, Employment and Special payment fields if the action affects the employee's status.
The first record of the Actions infotype is assigned the status specified in the customizing system. All other records
have the same status indicator as the new personnel action if this is not BLANK in the customizing system.

This applies to all three indicators.
Can you let us know the business need or requirement to do it??
