Acrobat 9 installed, now unable to scan in Photoshop

I've been using Acrobat 9 Pro for a couple of days and with a couple of exceptions, it's been working fine. I can create a PDF from the scanner, a file, web pages, etc. But I just launched Photoshop CS4 to scan something from that application, and I'm having trouble with the Twain driver. It had worked fine before installing Acrobat.
I'm able to scan, but once the image is in Photoshop, everything under the headings in the menu is grayed out and I can't do anything. When I close out of that (through Ctr-Alt-Del) there's a message that Photoshop is not responding. Sometimes when relaunching Photoshop I get an error message about the Twain driver (not able to find, I think).
Has anyone else had this problem? Have any suggestions?
I really needed to be able to scan from Photoshop today.

Thanks. I didn't have any problems until Acrobat was installed. I'll try reinstalling the scanner software first.
A few minutes later...
I started closing out of applications to begin the process of uninstalling when I discovered the problem. The scanner software was remaining open after the scan, but it was behind the Photoshop window and I didn't realize it. That's why everything in Photoshop was grayed out and I couldn't do anything. Sorry.

Try opening a terminal window (Applications >> Utilities). At the prompt, enter:
>sudo SystemStarter restart CiscoVPN
This will ask you for the admin password and it will restart the Cisco client service. That should fix it. This seems to be a known issue that will eventually be solved with some updates.

Acrobat 8 Pro now unable to create pdf files
Been using Acrobat 8 for well over a year. Installed new release of AutoCAD 2012, now unable to create pdf files from AutoCAD or MS Office programs. Can anybody help?
You may still want to at least give a repair a shot. Won't hurt and sometimes customer suport (I assume you mean Adobe customer support?) will miss some things. I believe in your version you can find it under the Help menu.

Acrobat 9 Installed - Now can't create PDFs in Framemaker
I installed the trial version of Acrobat 9. When I went to create a PDF in FrameMaker, I got an error stating that "FrameMaker could not find Adobe PDF printer instance, which must be installed to execute Save as PDF command." Sure enough, I looked at Settings>Printers and Faxes, and there is no longer a driver to create PDFs. It goes without saying that I also cannot Print to file and select PDF as an output format.
What happened?First, this is pretty obviously nothing to do with FM, but with Acrobat. So you may get more help if you call Adobe support because they offer free installation support or post in the Acrobat forum.
If not:
What OS system are you using and what version of FM?
What version of Acrobat are you upgrading from?
Did the installation complete successfully? Did you reboot afterwards?

Upon load of iTunes 11, no music in my entire library will play within iTunes. Reloaded iTunes 11 with no change. iTunes recognizes song files; 'Get Info' can be used and data is accurate. When selecting specific m4p file from windows directly, song will play in QuickTime.
I was able to determine that the SD drive where the iTunes Media is located had some corrupted sectors. Ran chkdsk /f and able to recover all music, podcasts, and other media.

Brother all in one unable to scan
I have a new Macbook Pro running 10.8.1 and a 3 year old Brother MFC 7840W. I can print wirelessly without problems, but I am now unable to scan (I was able to previously with my older Mac running 10.7 using Preview). The Mac recognizes the scanner and proceeds to scan the document, but the scanned image is not saved to the desktop (where I told it to save), or anywhere else.
I've tried using Preview, then Image Capture to scan, and tried downloading the most recent drivers from Brother's website, to no avail.
Any thoughts?Yes kieveb but have you tried using the "Image Capture" application that came with your computer?
I have an Epson all-in-one but the "Image Capture" application does a better job on scanning.
Make sure your AIO is turned on, then fire up the "Image Capture" application. It should be able to "see" your scanner.
Also make sure that you have set Image Capture to save your scanned images to somewhere where you can see them (I use the Desktop)
Then take it from there. -

Have you tried reinstalling in the full three step way (otherwise strange things may linger)?
Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.

Unable to scan and install windows updates on Win 2008 R2 server
I've encountered some of my win 2008 servers are unable to scan and receive windows updates from SCCM 2012. Browse through the logs and found some error code related to
0x80244023. Excerpt from the WindowsUpdate and WUAHandler is as below. Searched the net and found some workaround which is to rename the registry key
WinHTTPSettings to WinHTTPSettingsx (by adding x at the end of the string)
under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Internet Settings -> Connections.
I've did just that on the effected servers and after running again the Software Update Scan Cycle action, it is now able to scan and install the updates. My questions is, based on you guys experience, is there any repercussion (apart from enable to install
software updates) that I could encounter in changing the registry key value WinHTTPSettings?

If SCCM is setup correctly and your boundaries are correct then once you deploy updates the agents will pick them up.
Also make sure you SUP role has the FQDN set. Lastly if you are using port 8530 make sure it is open.

I downloaded a Trial version of Adobe Acrobat XI. Now the trial has runout and I've signed up for a subscription. However, my software still needs a serial number. How can I get a serial number for the installed software?
There is no serial number and you don't need one. What you need for a subscription is to SIGN IN within Acrobat, so it knows the subscriptions you own.

I have an iPhone 4, and I go to Settings, General, Software Update, and it says iOS 5.1.1 and I tap on the Install Now, and Agree, then i get the verifying update, and then it says "unable to install update, an error occured installing iOS 5.1.1
I have exactly the same problem. iPhone 4S, never been jailbroken. Not behind a firewall and it happens whether I am on my home compute (iTunes) or directly thru Settings_Update.
Looks like loads of people are having the same problem - and as far as I can see, Apple's sole reply is jailbreak or behind firewall/ security settings/anti-virus. None of those apply here! -
Updated to Firefox 4 (from 3.6) now unable to receive Hotmail, went back to 3.6 OK back to 4 again same fault.

I have purchased and installed Facebook, pages and numbers apps. However I am now unable to open any of these apps. When I click on the app the GUI just bleeps. Any suggestions to resolve this please?
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Or....
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Or....
Try downloading another app - any free app is fine. See if that resets the other apps.
