Acrobat 9 only prints page 1

I have recently upgraded to Acrobat 9 and now my documents are only printing page one of a multiple page document. Does anyone have any ideas of how to fix this problem? Acrobat is running from the Windows XP platform.

I am also having the same issue. It only seems to occur with a specific printer. I am currently having an issue with a Dell 5300 printer using a Post Script Driver. I can print to any other printer in the network just fine.

  • Acrobat 9 Only Prints One Page

I recently upgraded to Acrobat 9 Pro Extended from Acrobat 8 and I'm having a printing problem with it.
When I try to print a PDF, it only prints the last page of the file, regardless of what I set in the print dialog. If I click All Pages, it automatically sets the page range to 1-1, and there's no way to change it.
This is happening with two printers I have: Lexmark 4600 series and HP 4200 series. I've found this problem listed by many people in this forum, http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b65bf5, but none of the solutions suggested are working for me.
The print dialog boxes, Advanced tabs, have their PostScript options all grayed out, so I'm not able to change the Font and resource policy dropdown box to say "send for each page," which is what has been suggested. I tried changing the Settings dropdown from Acrobat Default to Custom, but the PostScript options are still grayed out.
In this knowledgebase article, http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb405589, it says "Note: Your printer drivers must be PostScript capable to use this procedure." How do I find out if my printers are PS capable? And if they're not, does it make sense that they worked fine with every previous version of Acrobat, including Acrobat 8? These aren't particularly old printers -- I just bought one of them a few months ago.
    Thank you.

  • Evny 4500 only printing page and a half of two page document, does anyone know how to resolve?

Can anyone help? I've just bought a new printer and  printed first copy  of 2 successfully (double page), second copy only printed half number of pages (12 of 25) and even when I've tried printing per page same thing happens. Any idea how to fix this problem?

    Hi @Cherry_B ,
I see that you are having issues printing a full page and multiple pages. I can help you, but I will need some more information.
In the mean time, download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?
What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.
How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet/Wireless)
What application are you printing from?
Try another application to see if you have the same results.
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)
    Have a great day!
    Thank You.

  • Acrobat Pro resizing print pages

I need to resize a bi-tonal 600 DPI PDF image only file by 80% of original size.
When I process this file it turns the pages into grey scale pages. How do I turn this off and just keep the image as bi-tonal.

Sorry about that the subversion is 9.4.0 and I am running xp.  It is adobe acrobat pro, should I move this question to a different forum?

  • Acrobat hangs when 'printing page 1'

This is a sudden thing - it was working fine and then suddenly it wasn't! I am creating a pdf from multiple files - I can collect them all up in the box and then click to start the process, it goes through some of the motions and then hangs for no apparent reason. I do not have any of the documents open, they are not password protected and they are not protected from editing.
I have recently had a recent RAM upgrade but I have performed this operation on a different file since. I have tried repairing Acrobat from the CD and also using the detect and repair tool but nothing works.
    Can anyone shed any light?

Problem solved. Does only happen with the Internet Explorer 32bit.
With Internet Explorer 64bit it doesn't happen.

    I have the same problem with my HP C6380 MY8CJ880F6. For me it is +80% of what I am printing I only get 1 page and has to print the rest 1 by 1. The problem is 6 month old and I have tried almost everything except the right solution ;-}
Setup Windows 7, 64 bit (Danish). Wireless communication.
I have tried reinstalling, use HP diagnostics and a lot of other things. Diagnostics says everything is fine. Microsoft Fix It diagnostics says the same about the Windows 7 printer support functions.
My other printer a HP Designjet 111 runs perfect. When I am out of office I use other printers no problems. But the HP C6380 will in most applications especially Acrobat Reader only print 1 page at a time.
I have tried to change the printer into factory settings that sometimes do the trick for the Microsoft Office 10 products installed but not for Acrobat. Most of my documents are PDF so either i get the fixed or I will have to invest in another printer.
Any body with a solution ?

  • Is there any way in Adobe Reader to limit printing to only one page at a time?

We have a large piece of internal knowhow in the form of a pdf document that we don't want users to be able to print in one go as it would risk the document leaving the premises. We are quite happy with users using print screen for single pages, but that doesn't really produce readable results.
So ideally we'd like users to be able to select print, but when they do it should only allow 'print current page' or just print the first chosen page instead of the whole selection. For instance, selecting pages 123 - 145 should only print page 123.
I've looked in to various areas already. We are delivering this document through a secured version of Adobe Reader via Citric application streaming, so are able to customise the config.js file any way we want, however I've looked through the Java Reference Guide and haven't been able to identify anything that might satisfy our requirement this.
I've also looked in to Document Actions such as "Document will print", but again (perhaps due to a personal lack of programming knowledge) am unable to find a way to fix the print option to a single page.
    Any ideas/suggestions much appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Kaan

The sponsor is not happy for low res printing either. As an organisation we should be looking at DRM more closely, and we've added to the requirement with this problem. We are also going to look in to the option of attaching metadata and scanning that at our exit points (e-mail, printers, usb's, etc.) so that users have free reign internally but can't send sensitive documents out. Obviously it's all going to be very expensive!
    Cheers for the respones guys.

  • Print page 1 only, do shell script

    Hi
This piece of code prints as it should, what I want to no is, is their anything I can add to the do shell script that will make the code only print page 1, if this is possible can some one show me please?
    do shell script "echo \"" & theEmail & "\" > /tmp/mailcontent.txt"
    do shell script "lpr /tmp/mailcontent.txt"
    cheers
    Budgie

Using the page-ranges option should do the trick, for example:
    do shell script "lpr -o page-ranges=1 /tmp/mailcontent.txt"
See the CUPS Software Users Manual for other options.

  • HP LaserJet CP1518 only printing black and white!

Here is a weird issue. Today, my HP color LaserJet will only print Pages documents in B&W! The document in question printed in color yesterday. I tried a new document, and that one printed B&W! I 'printed' to a PDF and in Preview it was color, but printed black & White!! I opened a Photoshop Document and that printed in color, so it seems to be with Pages. Again, the document printed fine yesterday.
I do have kids, and we thought they may have changed something, but if so, I can't seem to get it back!
    Help...please........

Check that you have the HP selected in +Print > Printer.+
Next pull down the button/menu marked Layout to +Color Matching+. Then check that you do not have +Profile > Other Profiles… > Black & White+ selected.
Usually +Adobe RGB+ or Automatic is the one you want.

  • Acrobat 8.1.4 only prints 1 page when I select "all"

    Hi all,
I'm hoping you can help me. Just spent 27 minutes on hold with Adobe tech support and gave up.
I have an iMac running OS 10.5.8 and had successfully used other versions of Acrobat. I bought a ScanSnap printer and it was bundled with Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.1.4. Installation seemed to go fine, but now when I try to print a multi-page document, it only prints one page, even when I check "all" on the print menu.
Also, when I try to click on print prevue, it says "Prevue is not supported." That's new, too.
So far I'm not thinking this is such a great bargain, even for free! Can you help?
    Thanks,
    Kathy

Print preview is not supported any longer. I think it is due to the fact that both use pdf technology and there may be a conflict.
As to why it only prints one page rather than all, that is a hard one. You could try deleting the printer driver and re-installing the driver to see if that helps.

  • Acrobat Reader 5.1 only prints 12 of 33 pages

    Hi,
I am using OS 9.1, 576MB RAM, HP LazerJet w/18MB builtin.
I can only print the first 12 pages from a 33 page PDF file.
I do not use desktop printer monitor or anything that shows on the desktop.
I do not use background printing.
I only have 53 fonts active in "System Folder" "Fonts".
    Any Help Out There?
    TIA
    Robert

Hi, Robert. Which LaserJet model are you using, and what printer driver are you selecting in the left panel of the Chooser — LaserWriter 8, AdobePS, or an HP printer driver?
If it's an HP driver, I recommend trashing it. HP has never been able to produce a reliable Mac PostScript printer driver in 15 years of trying, despite Adobe's having done 90% of the work for them. Use LaserWriter 8 or download AdobePS 8.8 instead of using HP's driver. I've used Adobe's drivers (on which Apple's and HP's drivers have always been based) for many years with my old HP LaserJet 4M, always with good results.
Next, locate the PrintMonitor application that is associated with your driver — it's probably in your Extensions folder. Select the PrintMonitor icon and Get Info on it. Click the Memory tab in the Get Info window and quadruple the Preferred figure that is displayed. Close the window and test printing again. Post back with results.

  • Acrobat Reader 11 only prints the first page of a multipage document.

When printing a commercially created document with printing permissions enabled, only the first page prints when printing all or a selected range of pages on HP LaserJet 4000 and 8000 printers.  Access is denied is displayed on ocassion.

They gotta fix this. It's been a huge problem for me for more than a year. I''ll defect to Chrome soon if they dont address this bug soon. Printing has been atrocious, even pathetic, i hate to say it. I can only print one page, maybe two if i am lucky. Sometimes, if it prints more than one page, the first page is mostly blank and the formatting of the text and sidebars is completely overlapped and sometimes unreadable. Basically, printing in Firefox is useless - it's a joke. I have to take the URL from Firefox and paste it into Chrome to get a decent print job. Why isnt this bug a higher priority?

  • Using Acrobat 9 and suddenly there is no selected page range in the print box.   Only selected PDF files or all PDF files.  Am I doing something wrong?  I need to print only three pages from the document

There is no selected print page range in the print box.  Only selected PDF file and all PDF files.  Any suggestions?

Well, I looked for where to delete this but didn't see it.
NEVERMIND; I forced iPhoto to quit and restarted and everything seems fine.
BTW, I did get one thing wrong. When I looked at both iPhoto libraries with FINDER, the active one and the archived one both showed content as far as file size goes.
It was because I was viewing the files through Adobe Bridge that it was showing 0 GB's; for whatever reason.

  • Printing list view -- only 1 page?

I've just switched from Windows and Outlook to Mac with iCal and Entourage. When I try to print from iCal in list view so I can see all the info relating to events it won't let me print more than can fit on 1 page (I use A4), limiting me to only a few days whatever I have selected in the date range. Have I missed something or is there a way round this problem?

    Stephen Del wrote:
When you are proofing a page, you must remember to check the page range button as it defaults to all after each page is printed. How do you change this default? We have printed many copies when we are thinking that only one page will go. We toggle between idd5 and pagemaker 7. When you print a page in pagemaker 7.0 it keeps printing that page until you select another option. We are reluctant to move up because of lack of compatability with our print devices and the ppd's. Thanks
Perhaps some knows of a script that can do this. Have you tried asking on the InDesign scripting forum?
Have you considered exporting to PDF, extracting the single pages, printing them from Acrobat or Reader? With full Acrobat, you can create a document from all open PDF files, then you can print that collection of pages from Acrobat. Another approach would be to placed the saved single-page PDFs into a new InDesign file and printing that file.
Yes, it's extra steps to create one, but if you have many singles to print, collecting them in a file would let you print as many singles as are in your assembled document in one print command.
