Acrobat 9 Pro - Creating a PDF of a webpage in a language such as Hindi or Punjabi

Using the 'Create PDF From Webpage' command of a webpage in languages such as Hindi or Punjabi results mainly in a blank PDF where the text should appear. My system has all the required Fonts already installed in order to render the respective scripts but the resultant PDF file is still blank.
Note, however, the generated PDF does display a title in the target font but some of the characters appear to be misordered. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Will

Hi, George.  Thank you again for pointing a new user in the right direction.
It took me a while to get some time to sit down with this again, but I was able to take your information above (specifically that what I wanted to do was create and spawn a page template... I would not have known what terms to use to find the information on my own) and search out the kind of script code and procedure needed to execute the "spawn".
Everything works perfectly and as I needed it to!  And it was easy once I figured out what to do.
Thank you Thank you Thank you!
I just needed someone to point me in the right direction.

  • How to remove file path location listings from photos and objects in Acrobat Pro 9.0 PDF?

After converting a windows-based Powerpoint 2007 presentation to an Acrobat Pro 9.0 PDF, the file path location of all photos and objects are shown in a dialogue box when the cursor is moved over the image as seen in this screenshot below. How can I stop this from happening and remove this feature on my pdf documents?

I saw that referenced on a forum, but it does not seem to address the issue I am having.
As per Adobe Acrobat X Standard * What’s new, the equivalent to the "Tools > Protection > Remove Hidden Information" utility found in Acrobat X Standard is the same as the "Document > Examine Document" feature in Acrobat Pro 9.0. Those tools seem to cover meta data, book marks, hidden text, and deleted or cropped content, but not the file path listings that appear on images and objects converted from Powerpoint presentations and other MS Office programs.
I have reviewed the settings used while creating a pdf, and have also tried the “Advanced > Preflight tool”, but could not find anything to apply to the issue at hand.
Thus, this issue has not been resolved, but seems like it should be an easy fix that anyone who publishes pdf documents would want to use to publish clean, professional documents without anyone seeing the file path location of every object and image shown in the document on their hard drive.

  • Acrobat Pro as Default PDF Reader

How can I make Acrobat Pro my default PDF reader, I am using a Mac and whenever I open a pdf it opens it in the Mac OS's 'Preview' software instead of Acrobat Pro

Select any PDF, Ctrl + click on "Mac", and select Adobe Reader under "Open With" option. Once the PDF opens with Reader, you will see an option to set it as default application to open PDF.

should go to Print and see some was to enlarge the printed material.
I see a picture of a page with 73% below it. There seems no way to

When you select to create PDF from Web Page, the window that requests the URL should have a conversion settings button. Select that button and adjust items accordingly. THere are options for the headers and such (includng the URL) as well as a layout with margins and such. This may not be enough variation to meet your need. In that case, try to print to a PDF from your browser and see if that is acceptable. In this latter case, the layout would defined by your browser, not Acrobat.

  • Acrobat Pro: Create PDF Form Export so it's not editable User fills out and info is emailed back to me

I have zero experience with PDF forms. A client needs to have the email addresses changed in an older PDF form, so I've opened it in Acrobat Pro, changed the existing email addresses and am now stuck. How do I save it so it's not editable by the end-user? Everything I've tried (Distribution via email, flattening, security) have not worked; either the form fields get stripped out or I receive nothing via email and I can still open the distributed form and edit the fields.
I need it so the end-user will view the form in their browser
    Fill out the fields
Click submit and the info is sent back to me via email.
If they download the PDF they can NOT edit it.
    Thanks!

Open the PDF and do the following:  File> Save As> Reader Extended PDF> Enable Additional Features

  • Is it possible with Adobe Acrobat to create a PDF that has multiple usernames/passwors for read access and individualised watermarks or with any other adobe product?

    Hi,
We're looking for a solution where a PDF can be created and distributed to multiple people - each with their own username/password to open - and also when opened created a user based water mark on the document. Is this something that can be done inside Acrobat Pro or is there a higher end product that does this?
    Thanks!

If the list of people who and only who you want to be able to open this PDF is predefined, then you can use Certificate Encryption in Acrobat. For this method to work each of possible recipients of the encrypted PDF needs to procure a digital certificate with a private key enabled for encryption and send you the public key version of this certificate. Then you encrypt this PDF with public key certificates (there may be many of them) of all recipients you want to be able to open this PDF. Then you distribute this PDF to all recipients and each of them can then open this PDF with their private key certificates.
You can also create PDFs with Optional Content which contains different watermarks with the selector for a watermark based on user ID or some other identification of the user. I do not know, though how to create such Optional Content using just Acrobat Pro. You may need to write a plugin to Acrobat to do that.

  • Acrobat Pro 9 & iPad pdf reader issues

When I create/edit a pdf in Acrobat 5 and then send to my iPad, the pdf will be complete and correct.  When I create/edit the same pdf in Acrobat 9 Pro and send it to my iPad the pdf will be missing any data that I edited and the other text will be garbled.  This occurs when using both iBooks and Pdf Pro Reader by iTech Development to view the pdf file.  Is this an issue with Acrobat or with the pdf readers?  What is done differently in Acrobat 9 that might cause these readers to have issues?

So, it is definitely an embedded fonts issue.  But I'm still rather
confused with solving the issue.  When I use Acrobat 5 on this pdf, it
embeds a substitute font of Times New Roman for the Times Roman font, but when I use Acrobat 9 it is using some substitute font that is getting garbled in the iPad.  I am still playing and testing, but any additional ideas would be greatful.
I also talked to the developer of the PDF Pro Reader and they opened an issue with Apple regarding the fonts being garbled and also let me know that if I open the pdf on a Mac and save it it will look fine on the iPad.  This did work, but is not something I can use as a solution, since we do not have a Mac and are not looking to purchase one just to solve this issue.

  • Acrobat Pro 9 SharePoint PDF Review Remote Service Authentication

I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended 9.4.3 (as part of the Technical Communication Suite 2.5). I am hosting PDF reviews on our company SharePoint server. In the past, I haven't had any problems doing this.
However today I cannot connect, and a "Remote Service Authentication" dialog box (see below) appears everytime I try to connect to a PDF review. This is the same for both reviews I have started, or for reviews others have started. Also, I have full permissions for the SharePoint Document Library.
I entered my credentials, then clicked OK. The dialog box just reappears over... and over... and over.
It doesn't seem to matter which program the PDF documents were created with (same dialog for documents generated from MS Word and Framemaker). And a co-worker was able to connect without a problem and enter comments (of course, I can't see his comments since I cannot connect to the server). This leads me to believe that it is a problem on my machine.
    Any ideas?

Yes, I initiated the review. When I initiated the review, I saw a different dialog for entering my username and password. That took my credentials and uploaded the PDF to SharePoint.
I don't remember seeing RSA dialog (see the image I attached to the first post) when I created the review, only when I opened the PDF after the review was generated. At that point, I did select to save the credentials, but it didn't seem to save them (since everytime the dialog appears it is blank).
I had another one of our tech writers test it before sending it to the rest of the team, and he was able to access the review and put in test comments. He never saw the dialog. At that point, I looked at other reviews that I had initiated in the past, and was unable to add comments to those either (at least for the ones that didn't have a deadline). So I am pretty sure it is something that has changed on my system in the last few weeks. Perhaps a Microsoft Security update?

  • Help with browser issue - Acrobat Pro default for PDF

    Hello,
I have Acrobat Pro CS3 set as default for reading pdf's, because I often have to edit the pdf's I open. This works fine with pdf's I open from disk.
However, it seems that somehow Acrobat Pro has taken over as default for opening pdf's inside browsers as well. My plugins list in FF shows "Adobe Acrobat 9.1.0.163 Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape". Whenever I navigate to a page which is a pdf, the entire Acrobat Pro external program opens, displaying a blank page and an error message popup - when I click OK on the error, the application closes and the pdf opens in the browser window - sometimes this requires several tries before it opens in browser.
Here is an image showing the error message and the FF plugin installed: http://terraffirma.com/images/PDF-error.jpg
I have Reader 9 installed on system, and I am downloading Reader 10 just to see if a reinstall will correct this.
Any suggestions on how to set system up with Acrobat Pro as default for opening pdf's from disk, and having browser directly use a plugin?
    Thank you.

Thanks Chris - That did EXACTLY what I wanted it to do.
I was able to create a button that prompts the user to save the form, then it hides the price fields, then it flattens, then it e-mails the form. The order was important since I wanted the salesperson to be able to save the "not-flattened" form.

  • Acrobat Pro X - Hyperlinked PDF's not displaying correctly

After installing Acrobat Pro X we are having issues when clicking hyperlinks to PDF files from webpages.
If we click a link to a Multi paged document it opens everytime to the top of page 2.
If it is a one page document it opens at the bottom of page 1
There don't seem to be any exceptions to this rule. It is happening on all 6 computers in our office all running Windows XP SP3. Browser is IE8
Is this a known fault? Is anyone else having the same issues?

I am experiencing this same problem.
Now that I have Adobe Acrobat X Pro, documents clicked on in ANY web browser: Firefox, I.E., Safari... all open DIRECTLY to page 2... even when I have them set in preferences to open on page 1.
    What's up with this?
    Have you found a solution?

  • How to Create a PDF of a Webpage Data Entry Form

When using Adobe Acrobat XI, what conversion settings do I need to create a PDF file of a completed webpage data entry form so that the created PDF file contains the data that was typed into the webpage form? Typically whenever I try to do this, I get a PDF file that is a copy of the webpage form but does not contain any of the information that was entered into the form. If I want to retain the information that I entered into the webpage data entry form, I have to retype it into the PDF file that I created.

What did you get when you print to "Adobe PDF" ?

  • Using Acrobat to create a PDF from .swf files

I'm trying to beef up a standard powerpoint presentation into something i could have more control over, and was considering Acrobat as it would (i hoped) allow me to import .swf files from Flash. In reading up on just how flexible acrobat is though, it doesn't really seem to have all of the functionality that i want - if anyone could offer feedback on the following, that would be great in terms of clearing up the queries that i have beforehand!
essentially, i want to create a PDF file which will open fulllscreen on any machine with no toolbars, windows, additional content in the window except my PDF content. So i would have a central shape/box, which would be white, on which i have text.
I want this to open centrescreen, fullscreen, with no acrobat reader branding / navigation visible at all. Similar to the way a powerpoint document would open, however - i don't want Adobe Reader to scale my PDF at all.
I've set my canvas in flash to 1024x768, and i would want Reader to display my file at exactly 1024x768 pixels, and not scale the document up to suit different monitors. So in a way, utilising something like you could with a Flash projector file where you could set the fullscreen's "allowscale" function to "false" (keeping the document at exactly 100%) and the actual fullscreen call itself to "true" (display the document in fullscreen mode, taking over your entire monitor).
Also, i would want to specify a 'background', which is simple in flash as i can just create an oversized movie clip with whatever i want to appear in the background, and this will cover any excess area in monitors that exceed my canvas size. (So i usually create a movie clip of an image or gradient for the background that measures 2600 x 1600 pixels). Will acrobat be able to render this correctly, or is it just going to display the actual canvas size and exclude my oversized 'background' movie clip? If i use my 1024 x 768 canvas, will it clip the big background movie clip to fit?
Thanks folks... bit long winded but i just wanted to make sure i've covered the bases!

Like it or not, InDesign is a color managed application, and your files are all being managed.
You'll always have less grief if the working spaces match the output, but that isn't always possible. If you want to to convert to the profiles specified in the CSF file, choose one of the "Convert to Profile" settings and select the correct profile as the destination. You'll have two options, preserve numbers, or don't preserve numbers.
Preserving numbers will cause colors to shift, but will preserve 100% K blacks. Not preseving numbers will change the numbers to give you the closes match possible in appearance, but will royally screw up your 100% K type if going to press.

  • Problem creating a PDF print from webpage

When printing a pdf using Adobe Acrobat 9.5.5. from a secured webpage (IE 9.0.8...), I get unreadable characters in the printed document. Can anybody help me out here?

It may be that some of the characters can not be embedded in the print (or you were using a wrong setup). Check the PDF properties to see what properties of the fonts exist.

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard -vs- Adobe Acrobat Pro (for large PDF files)

I need to make a PDF from approximately 600 photos. Is the application Adobe Acrobat Standard competent to achieve this task? Or is it preferable to purchase Adobe Acrobat Pro and why?

Neither has particular limits relevant to this.
If you are making for professional publishing, Acrobat Pro contains print production tools.
However, be aware that YOU DO NOT LAY OUT DOCUMENTS OR MAKE BOOKS IN ACROBAT. Sorry to be emphatic, but some people have received the view that it replaces Word, InDesign, Publisher or whatever. It doesn't.
