Acrobat 9 Pro Doesn't OCR Entire Page

I have scanned many paper invoices. I have Acrobat 9 Pro OCR them using the "Searchable Image (Exact)" setting. It does an acceptable job of recognizing most text, but there are parts of the invoices that aren't being OCR'd. See this link for a typical example. As you can see, the form has shaded areas which are the equivilent of field labels. I don't care that they don't OCR. However, the first line of characters below a shaded label is also often not OCR'd either. In the example, see "Invoice Number" in the top right corner. The invoice number ("S3436463.025") is not OCRd. That really cripples my project. There is also a lot of information in the body of the invoice which is not OCR'd.
I have several hundred pages of invoices. I need to save each invoice (typically one page) as a separate document with a name to match the invoice number. If I could OCR the invoice, then select the invoice number, ctrl-c copy to my clipboard, then File Save As using the invoice number it would save me HOURS of work.
1. What can I do to get Acrobat 9 Pro to OCR everything that's not shaded?
2. If Acrobat 9 Pro can't do what I need, is there a 3rd party app which will do this that you'd recommend?

It is not being OCRd because the quality of the type is incredibly poor. It looks like it was printed either using bad thermal paper or an old dot matrix printer. You probably cannot fix things for what was already created. Sometimes we used to be able to increase the quality by xeroxing the bad printout and scanning that image, but I doubt that it will help here.

Acrobat Pro 9 - Clearscan OCR

Hi folks,
A collegue has Acrobat Pro 9.3.3 (I am on Pro 8 so no issue) and when he runs the clearscan OCR engine it creates the hidden text but for some reason deletes the scanned text from the image..... certainly a clearscan!!!!! Is this a known bug with Pro 9? or is there a fix to get the text back in the image

I am attaching a page from the document. I have marked where the text
has been deleted. If I examine the document... the hidden text can be
seen. If I copy all and paste into textpad the text can also be seen!
Lastly I did a text touch up to edit the pdf on the blank bits and when
I changed the font to times roman the text appears?
Any thoughts because there is hidden text... I think

Acrobat Pro doesn't color sync with Bridge

Really would like to know if anybody has a solution for this. Running Acrobat Pro 9.3.4 with Design Premium CS5 and although all the other apps within the suite sync fine Acrobat doesn't. Tried deleting the pref files for Acrobat and have done a clean install of acrobat with no effect. Would appreciate any thoughts on how to resolve this as its a royal pain!

Acrobat Pro XI - won't add pages??

Acrobat Pro XI - Windows XP. Try to add pages - just freezes - sometimes asks "Before or after" - but takes 2 minutes for this. Often it just crashes. Anyone else had this?

Acrobat Pro doesn't appear after downloading

PDF created from Office 2013 with Acrobat X doesn't have correct page size

We have a process of quickly creating PDFs along with combining several Word files to PDF by utilizing the "right click" on a Word file(s) to save as a PDF within Windows. Many times, our page size in Word is 5.5 X 8.5 and it does not save actual page size once PDF is created by using the "right click" and defaults to 8 1/2 X 11. Is there a way to fix this or edit a setting? It works fine from within Word if you "Save as" or "Export" but we need the right click to save as actual page size. Please help. It worked fine in all previous versions of Word/Office. Thanks!

Could you please let me know what version of Acrobat are you using.
Try using 'Create PDF' option under Acrobat ribbon in your word file and check for the same.
Also, please open 'Preferences' for Acrobat PDFMaker and check what 'Conversion Settings' have you selected.

Acrobat Pro 9.5.5 - Multiple Page Template question

I have a document with 2 pages that I have created as a template so I can try to spawn the pages. I am having problem finding the correct syntax to get both pages of my 2 page PDF to spawn.
This is the Javascript that am using that I found from the planet pdf website.

Page 1 of my pdf is template "Client1" and Page 2 of my pdf is template "Client2"
I have tried to use this under the getTemplate command
("Client1","Client2") = this fails
("Client1, Client2") = this fails
("Client1")+("Client2) = this fails
I looked at the Javascript API documentation and I could not figure out what the correct syntax is.
It is possible to have both pages spawn? If I just have the "Client1" in, Acrobat will spawn page 1.
I am at a loss and any help would be appreciated. I am not much of a programmer at all.

Acrobat Pro doesn't recognize CS4 Creative Suite serial #

I've installed the CS4 creative suite and now acrobat doesn't recognize the serial #. All other apps are fine and working properly. Also running 10.4.11 OS. Any suggestions would be great, so thanks in advance.

If you replace Acrobat with the one from creative suites you'll have to use that serial number. you'll have topen a Creative suite item first then try to open Acrobat.
what you should have done if you had Acrobat already installed, was done a custom install of Creative Suites and installed everything except your previously installed Acrobat.
To fix it you''ll have to remove acrobat completely. Then you have to put the CS Disk back in. and reinstall Acrobat only . Then it should recognize CS serial Number.

Acrobat Pro V8.1.2 "Invalid Page Range" Error - Rotate Pages

Hi,
I have Adobe Acrobat Professional version 8.1.2. For the last couple of weeks every time I try to rotate a page in any direction I get the following error:
"Invalid Page Range" (OK)
I have tried every combination of options for amount of rotation and page range (all, selected, specify). No matter what I do I get the same message. I have tried this on several different documents both encrypted and unencrypted.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I know this is nearly 4 years late, and I realise this may not have been the cause with the original post, but for the sake of covering this issue for anyone who searches and lands on this page: The most common cause for receiving this "invalid page range" error when attempting to rotate pages is becaue the option for "Even and Odd Pages," "Even Pages Only," or "Odd Pages Only" drop-down choices are inconsistent with the selection. For example, if you're trying to rotate just page 1, but the selection "Even Pages Only" is slected, then you will receive this error. You will find this option in the options window that appears when you click the Rotate command.
Just my two cents after trying to remedy this over and over with users.

PDF from Word doesn't capture entire page

I've created many a PDF from Word documents, but today I'm puzzled. I've created a one-page flyer in standard letter size (8.5 x 11"). I've set all margins - including header and footer - to zero, and placed a top and bottom of page border right at the top and bottom edges. Everything looks fine in Word, but when I convert the document to PDF, approximately a quarter-inch is missing from the left and right sides, and a full half-inch is missing from the bottom.
I've checked Page Setup to make sure of paper size, etc. but don't know what else to check.
Any ideas?

BD, has anyone ever held a parade in your honor?
It took me about three hours to conceive and do the layout for this flyer. Then another 5 hours trying to get it to convert properly into a PDF. When it didn't convert correctly from Word, I fired up Classic, launched an old version of Quark XPress and recomposed the flyer. But when I tried to export it to PDF, Acrobat Distiller (remember that?) just sat and spun its wheels. It did spit out a Postscript file, but it wouldn't actually make the PDF for some reason. Never even generated an error. Then, I accidentally double-clicked the Postscript file, and Preview launched as said it was making a PDF. I was a happy camper... until I discovered that this PDF was cut off on both the top and bottom.
Then I checked my email and found you had answered my cry for help (yet again).
When I followed your instructions (which I did try to find on my own before posting my plea), the PDF came out perfectly on the first try.

Acrobat Pro XI - Inserting a blank page creates a bookmark

When I insert a blank page Acrobat automatically creates a bookmark pointing to that blank page. Is there a way to prevent this behavior?

It's likely a HTTPS site or you have an authenticating proxy server where you are required to enter a password to acess the web page.

Acrobat Reader doesn't open at page last viewed.

When I open a pdf document, I want Reader to open with the same page viewing that I was reading the last time I used it. Instead, Reader opens at the very first page every time. Is there a setting or configuration that needs to be set that tells Reader to open to the same page at which it last closed at? Just to clarify, if I were reading page-83, for example, when I closed Reader, I want Reader to go to page-83 the next time I launch the program or the next time I click on the document file (which automatically tells Reader to launch).

Acrobat Pro 9 crashes when OCR more than 50 pages

Can someone tell me why Acrobat Pro 9 would crash on page 50 of large docs?

I don't have a solution (other than breaking up the document in ~ 50 page segments and insterting them all later), but I also have this issue on 2 windows 7 machines.

Acrobat Pro 8 will only print first page of pdf at 11x17

Hello all. When I try print 11x17 from Acrobat Pro 8 only the first page prints. I have tried several printers and all do the same. I have tried entering page numbers rather than leaving it on print all. I have tried printing 11x17 from other applications and it works fine. And I am able to print 8.5x11 from Acrobat just fine. I've tried searching all sorts of forums and I cannot seem to find any information on this particular problem. Suggestions anyone? I need to get this resolved...it is highly annoying since we print many 11x17 documents on a daily basis.
