Acrobat 9 Pro Extended - Crashes
In our application there is a case, where I have to make N number of copies of a PDF file but output should be a single PDF file.
In order to achieve this I am using PDDoc.InsertPages.
Code sample:
For(loop) { objPDDoc.InsertPages(x, objPDDoc, x, x, 0); }
objPDDoc.Save(1, FilePath);
It is working fine (or failing because out of memory) in most of the machines.
Result: Output file size around 2GB, no of pages 10050 – Successfully completed.
But in few machines I am getting “Runtime Error” form Acrobat exe. Following is the crash message.
“Runtime Error!
Program: C:/.../Acrobat.exe
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application’s support team for more information.”
FYI - Machine configuration:
OS: Windows 7
RAM: 2 GB
Acrobat: Acrobat 9 Pro Extended (Trial)
I didn't get this error with XP with Acrobat 9 / 8.
Is this related to Acrobat Version or Windows 7 and Acrobat combination?
Please, any one tell me why this runtime error is occuring. What could I do to prevent this?
Thanks in Adv...
>>Are you not actually purchasing the product and trying to run with this the demo/trial versions?!?!<<
Licensed Acrobat 9.2.0 also crashed for our customer.
So here the problem is not the trial but the crash.
Is there any thing I could do to avoid this kind of crashes?
Is my logic of inserting a PDF document into itself "objPDDoc.Insertpage(x, objPDDoc, x, x, 0)" is the reason?
Is it related to OS or machine configuration or some thing else...?
Note:
This crash is not happening always, some time I am able to get the proper output.
Some of the times the objPDDoc.InsertPages returns false
or else after the successful completion of 10000 pages insertion the objPDDoc.Save is failing.
Please help me. I need some information to overcome from this issue.

Acrobat 9 Pro Extended crashes when trying to distribute form
Hi.
I am experiencing an issue with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended on Windows XP Pro SP3 32-bit.
I have created a pdf file derived from an html and css file.
The pdf file comes out perfectly with form fields automatically detected, etc.
However, when I try to distribute the form, by clicking on
1. Forms > Distribute Form...
2. Manually collect responses in my email inbox..
3. Save a local copy and manually send it later.
Acrobat.exe crashes with faulting module acroform.api. when trying to create the response file.
Faulting application acrobat.exe, version 9.0.0.332, faulting module acroform.api, version 9.0.0.332, fault address 0x00025878.
Any ideas?
I can successfully distribute a different form created from InDesign.
Thank you.Any ideas? there was an update on adobe dated 2/25/13. Perhaps if I uninstall it? I need advice on how to uninstall. When I view updates and click on it, and then click uninstall, it goes back to the Program Screen, in Control, for all programs. Then do I click on Acrobat and Uninstall? I am nervous about doing this. Thanks

Acrobat 9 Pro extended 64-bit add-on uninstall crashes
My windows 7 64 bit computer seems to reboot itself. I've located the problem to possibly be with Acrobat.
When I then tried to unistall "Accrobat 9 Pro extended 64-bit add-on" the computer crashes--straight to black screen and rebooting. I tried to uninstall it in safe mode but windows t pops up with a window telling me some uninstall file is missing.
Any suggestions outside of reinstalling the OS.?
Thanks in advanceAll I can tell you is it's title in the "Programs and Features" tool of Windows 7. To whit: "Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended 64-bit Add-On." It has an installation date of 8-30-2011 and is only 34KB in size, according to Windows. It is listed below the Main Acrobat 9 Pro program, which doesn't give it's size, but does give the current version of 9.5.2, which is the latest for Acrobat 9 Pro as far as I know.
The one thing I want to establish is whether this add-on is necessary for the current version of Acrobat 9 Pro to function or not. I can find no guidance on Acrobat's website; at least a search reveals nothing anyway. And it is not referenced in their update site at all. If worse comes to worse, I will call them for guidance because our security types are listing it as a problem, and I am wondering if they are confusing this add-on with the main program.
Hope this helps with your knowledge, and thanks for replying.

Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended - Signature Issue after upgrade
I have updated to Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended from Acrobat 7 Standard. I have several pdf files that I have signed and secured. These files have been set to not allow clients to remove or alter various pages. I did not save a copy without the signature or security settings. I have not been able to get back into 7 Standard to try and retrieve the signature. I do have a complete backup of the program files. Can anyone tell me how I might be able to retrieve the signature (or signature files) from Standard 7 and place it in 9 Pro Extended? I am using the same computer and as mentioned above I have a complete backup of 7 standard program files prior to the update. I would like to be able to remove the signature and alter the security settings in Pro 9 Extended.

Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended hangs for about 12 seconds ... please help!
Hi there,
I'm using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended and have the following problem:
I can open PDF documents just fine. But after about 3-4 seconds the program hangs / freezes for about 12 seconds. I've tried everything (defined a non-network printer as default printer, deactivated unecessary fonts with a font manager, deactivated most of the plugins from Adobe Acrobat etc.)... nothing helps to solve this issue.
Can anybody give me a hint or have a solution for this ???

When I open Acrobat 9 Pro Extended using Vista Ultimate, I get the message: " Adobe Acrobat 9.0 has stopped working. Windows can check online for a solution to the problem. Check online for a solution and close."
"To help protect your computer, Data Executuion Prevention has closed Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Click to learn more."
Should I change the settings? Will it harm my computer? Shouldn't the software be compatible with Windows Vista Ultimate? Can you please post the scanner brand with which you see the crash?

AutoCAD Revit Architekture 2010 in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended
Hallo,

Sorry, I know this is dated but my company doesnt offer Acrobat X (yet. It is currently pending approval from IT). Anyway, I am wondering if the Livecycle designer program comes with the Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional version or just the Extended which I cannot get? This is very important as I will be using it to create a form (literally just one form lol).
ThanksDesigner ES is distributed with both Acrobat 9 Pro and Acrobat 9 Pro Extended for Windows.

Pdf form created in Acrobat 9 Pro Extended does not function properly when viewed by Reader
Hello all-
I have created a form in Acrobat 9 Pro Extended and have an issue because when others view the form in Adobe Reader some of the functions do not work- such as the attach a file button I created, or the save, print buttons (all are execute a menu item). These work on my Acrobat 9 Pro Extended but not on Reader.
I have tried saving many different versions- with security (password) and made sure to allow printing and commenting, editing, digital signatures etc...
Without any security...
Even tried extending features in Adobe Reader!
The response from others is that it all works, except the ATTACH A FILE button- when they click on it it compresses, but, nothing happens!
I don't know what else to do! (I guess people could just attach things to the e-mail that is generated from the submit button, but worried people might forget at that step once they are past that section on the form and they jump to email to submit).
Help please!
A.I've already extended the rights and made sure to save to activate that... as well as password protected the docs etc... still nothing...
I am aware that those with Basic Adobe Reader need rights extended to be able to use functions available to Adobe Pro. -
Text spacing goes crazy after editing a pdf in Acrobat 9 Pro Extended
Recently upgraded to Acrobat 9 Pro Extended from 7. I have old pdf documents that need minor editing. When I edit text with Text Touchup tool, I get an error that font substitution taking place, usually TimesNewRoman Postscript to just TimesNewRoman. Once I save the pdf, text throughout the entire document is spaced randomly, i.e. "Doc ument is n o t fo m atted correctly". I do not have the original source documents to re-scan or recreate the PDF. If I create a new document using 9, I embed my fonts or I get the same problem. I can't do this with the hundreds of old documents I have. Is there a fix? I have tried Adobe Tech support via email with no response.
I am using Distiller to print to pdf.
I am using Vista Home Premium (ugh!) but tried it on an XP system with same results.
All my documents are text, and were OCR'd using Abbyy FineReader originally. Thanks for the input, but I don't have the originals in either hardcopy or OCR'd files. My workaround is to re-OCR the pdf, make the changes I need and then save to PDF. This makes a lot more work. I am really trying to figure out what changed in 9 from 7 that causes this to happen. I believe it is an issue with the fonts, was just hoping for a fix.
The edits to these documents are minor, like removing some highlighting or taking away a few words of colored text, but they are necessary, just very unhappy that it now can take hours to do something it used to take minutes to do. -
Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended in Win 7 - 64

Except for those few people who have a TechNet subscription, Win7 won't be issued by MS until October

Word, Acrobat 9 Pro Extended and PDF Maker
I am still using Acrobat 9 Pro Extended and I also have Office 2010 installed on my Windows 7 laptop. Is there a way to get PDF Maker to work in Office? Right now when I open Word for example the PDF tab does not appear anywhere. I tried running the repair feature in Acrobat but nothing has changed.
I believe Office needs to be installed first then Acrobat so PDF Maker can be installed. I did this intially when I had Office 2007 but then I unintalled it and installed Office 2010 and I'm guessing that is why things aren't working. Am I going to need to reinstall Acrobat 9 Pro Extended?Acrobat 9.x is not compatible with MS Office 2010

Acrobat 9 Pro Extended: Enable commenting in Save As-ed PDFs by default
For Acrobat 9 Pro Extended:
When using Save As to save a PDF, is it possible to have Commenting and Analysis enabled for that saved PDF by default?
What I currently must do: Open the PDF, choose Comments > Enable for Commenting and Analysis in Adobe Reader, at which point Acrobat 9 Pro Extended prompts me to save the file.
What I would like to do: Have Save As automatically enable commenting & analysis by default.
I can't find any controls for that, so suspect it's a manual process each time...(?)
Note, too, that this question was asked for Acrobat 8 Pro but went unanswered, which further leads me to believe enabling comments may well be a one-by-each process. Sigh...
