Acrobat 9 Pro, ignores Formfeed during import

When creating a PDF in acrobat 9 pro, the resulting document doesn't preserve formfeeds (chr(12)  ^L )
In version 7, formfeeds will insert a page break (so to speak) this behavior is missing from Acrobat 9.
I will gladly attach a sample text file if my description makes little or no sense

Here are the results:
document was created by "Page 1 [insert->page break] Page 2, etc.."
as a docx file, the pdf was created correctly.
as a text file, the incorrect behavior persisted.
Apon inspecting the .txt file saved from office (2007), word stripped out the ^L characters, and reopening the (text) file in office confirmed that the page breaks were gone.  Apparently word uses a different way of tracking pagebreaks then the classic ^L character.
We no longer have earlier versions of office installed, so I can't test what happenes in earlier versions.

  • Acrobat Pro Crash with Flash Import

Every time I try to import a Flash file with the Flash tool in Acrobat Pro v9.2.0 it crashes out. i thought it might have been a file size issue but it happens regardless of the size of the file I am trying to import.
I'm running 10.6.1 on a MacBook Pro which is a year old.

BSOD's are never good. They point to a problem much bigger and deeper than any software issues.
When XP came out eleven years ago, people were astonished at how much processor it took to handle the GUI vs Windows 98. Processors an RAM have upgraded a lot since then. It was worse with VIsta, even on newer systems. Seven was a step in the right direction, but I'd guess that your old computer (your words, not mine) isn't up to the task of running Windows 7.

  • Acrobat Pro ignoring Serial number in .MST

Has anyone ever seen this = I created a .mst using the Adobe customization tool. When I run the acropro.msi with the TRANSFORMS=ACROPRO.MST it ignores my serial number. I get the company name and organization name but the serial number is  blank. The installations are failing as soon as I click next with a blank serial number.

    Hello RhondaLay
Pleae try this command line option, and see it works for you. -
    msiexec.exe /qn /i "<full path to the .msi file>.msi" ISX_SERIALNUMBER=
    "<your valid Acrobat serial number>"

  • How to remove existing keywords during import?

I have tried to find a way to NOT import existing keywords present in files that are already on my system, when I am importing those files into my library. They mess up my existing keyword structure and I just want to ignore them during import. I tried to enter an empty keyword text area with checkbox ticked in the template I apply during import, but that doesn't do the trick for reasons I don't comprehend. Any clues?

To tell you the truth, I don't think the Lighroom Import function has the capability of removing keywords.
Your choices seem to be ...
Remove keywords after import, in which case you would also have to remove the unwanted keyword from your hierarchy
Use freeware tools like Geosetter or Exiftool to remove the keywords from your photos before importing

  • Crash with AVDocSaveOptimized inside Acrobat Pro 9.4.0

Just today we've updated our test machine to Acrobat Pro 9.4.0 and while testing our plugin found that for some PDF file when we utilize AVDocSaveOptimized call - Acrobat just exits without any error warning. We've tried then to do the same manually while going via Acrobat menu and selecting Optimizer PDF option and got the same result - Acrobat just exit when we [ress Save button in Save as optimized dialog.
Is it possible to workaround at least in our C program and get some exception instead? Though that call is already inside DURING/HANDLER clause, so probably no ways for now.
We've filled bug report for Acrobat Pro 9.4.0 already today, but probably will receive some response from VL support team not before late Wednesday.
As I've said this situation happens only with one of our test PDF files, which we could normally open in Acrobat Pro.

  • Import data into a form in Acrobat Pro X

Have followed directions on importing data in text format into a form in Acrobat Pro X . Does not work. Is it possible to import a large amount of data into a form and have multiple forms created? Very frustrating and disappointing.

Here's a recent topic that discusses this type of thing: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3397600
Note that some of the code that was posted isn't correct, but you will see the general approach outlined. It does require some JavaScript programming. Have you done any before?

  • Import and Save Quark Express Files - Acrobat Pro XI

A friend of mine has some newsletters that she produced in Quark Express in the late 1990's and wishes to share them with me. She no longer has Quark Express and neither do I. I'm wondering if it is still possible to import these files into Acrobat Pro XI on a Mac and then save them off as PDF files? Or, do I need to save them as .ps files in Acrobat Pro XI, then run them through Acrobat Distiller? I have looked in the Adobe forums but cannot find anything applicable to Acrobat Pro XI. If someone can let me know what is the best way to go, then that would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks for any assistance.

Acrobat Pro cannot open QuarkXpress files so you are SOL.
If these are really older QXP files like version 3 or 4, you can try to open them in InDesign.
But InDesign will not open any Quark files newer than version 4, also not sure if InDesign CC will do this at all.
There is a Markzware plugin called Q2ID which may work for you.
If neither of you have QuarkXpress, these are your only options.

  • Premiere Pro CC v7.0 - MP3s corrupted during import with "Write XMP ID to Files on Import"

Premiere Pro CC v7.0 - original MP3s corrupted during import with default "Write XMP ID to Files on Import" option
I have just started using a Trial version of Premiere.
I have a folder full of corrupted MP3 files after attempting to import them into Premiere.
After searching these forums I found that some other people have had corruption issues during import of media and it was related to the Preferences->Media->"Write XMP ID to Files on Import" option.
I attempted to import additional MP3s (this time making backups first) with and without the Write XMP ID option, and have found that this is where the issue is.
While the MP3 files still fail to be imported, the files are not corrupted in the process when the Write XMP ID option is unchecked.
Writing to files that are being imported seems to me like unexpected behaviour for any software.
    Adobe please advise!
Is there any way to recover my original MP3 collection?

What exactly is wrong with them?

Looking for my serial number under subscription on adobe acrobat pro X1 is chewing all of my important seconds in my life. I purchased today 19.99 and I want to start my testing in this software but there is no way I can find any serial number in my email or in my account?

On May. 12, 2014, you purchased the Subscription of Acrobat XI Pro.
Creative cloud do not need a serial number. it will be using your Adobe ID on which you have purchased the creative cloud membership.
So you need to login with your Adobe ID and password to activate the cloud membership.
Log out & log back in of the CC Desktop App.
In case it is not signing in successfully please try the following:

  • How do I set customized changes in Custom Toolsets during deployed installation on Adobe Acrobat Pro XI?

I am trying to set settings in the Custom Toolsets, specifically Protection\Redaction Properties - Example:  Changing highlight color and enabling text overlay.  Is there a way to modify the settings for a deployment?  I am unable to find a way through the Customization wizard and am having trouble finding documentation on deploying customized settings to toolsets.
    Issue:
Customizing Toolsets as part of Adobe Acrobat Pro XI Deployment
    Environment:
For deployment I am using the Adobe Customization Wizard and SCCM 2012 to distribute and install Adobe Acrobat Pro XI.
Environment has both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1

    3.7.4   Tool Sets
Acrobat 11.0 introduces a streamlined way to create and manage custom tool sets across the enterprise. A Customize button in the upper right-hand area of the toolbar allows users to create new tool sets, manage existing tool sets, and choose any existing tool set.
This feature helps organizations standardize task-specific tool views, reduce training costs, and improve employee efficiency by grouping related tools into a common view. This feature allows:
End users to easily create or import custom tool sets.
Easy switching between different tool sets.
IT to create, distribute, and otherwise manage tool sets across the enterprise.

    3.7.4.1   Tool set file locations
Tool set files reside in two locations:
A local user directory (full access): Files which are stored and imported by the current user are placed in the default current user’s directory. For example:
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\11.0\UICustomization\<anyname>.aaui
A local, product directory (read only): Files in this directory are visible to any user on the machine. For example:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\UICustomization\<language>\<anyname>.aaui

    To work with tool sets:

  • Acrobat Pro always on top during batch OCR ! ;(

    Hello,
Do you know a way to change the default behaviour of Acrobat Pro 11 as it comes back always on top each time there is a new pdf file to OCR during a batch OCR process ?
This is very annoying as I have to click each time on the other window I was focusing on !
Example: I was on reading something in Firefox, then Acrobat Pro window appears - too bad! - I need then each time to click on Firefox in order to get back on what I was reading !
    Thanks in advance
    Win7 64bits Acrobat Pro 11, tools/action wizard using only : OCR and Save .

    Hi,
There are 2 resolutions for this issue:
1: Uncheck Prompt user checkbox while creating the Action:
2: Use Tools -> Text Recognition -> In Multiple Files option
    Please use either of them.
    Thanks,
    Ankit

  • How can I import comments from shared reviewer who doesn't have acrobat pro?

How can I import comments from shared reviewer who doesn't have acrobat pro? I sent out a shared review, but not all of the reviewers have acrobat pro, they do have acrobat reader 9 and have made comments on the document, but they do not appear when I open the shared review from the workspace. Can I import his comments so that they are apart of the shared review?

I figured it out, so I will share just in case anyone else has this issue...
The reviewer emailed me his comments on the document. I opened it and made a comment. When I went to publish my comment a dialogue box opended asking if I wanted to publish his comments to the shared review for him. Says yes and the reviewers comments are now published and a part of the shared review.
