I have acrobat 9 pro and microsoft office outlook 2007.
Noy sure if it was possible before but nowadays whenever I try to preview a pdf document in outlook it gives the following error message:

    Can anyone recommend a solution?

If I set the default program for viewing PDF as Acrobat XI Pro the a PDF file will open with Acrobat XI Pro, but in Outlook I will get a white screen and the information bubble "This file cannot be previewed because there is no previewer installed for it" and in Windows Explorer I get a white screen in the preview pane.

  • Acrobat X Pro Output Preview

I just upgraded to Acrobat X Pro and I'm running it on Max OS X 10.5.8. When I click on the check boxes of the color separations in the "output preview" it doesn't do anything. Instead I have to hold down the mouse button for a extened period of time, let go and then it will work. I do prepress work and I use the color separations in "output preview" to make sure blacks are truly going to be black. I go through a number of pages in a day and having to hold down the mouse button, instead of just clicking the checkbox can be time consuming. I have never had this issue with Acrobat 9 or any previous versions. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
I found a thread similar to my issue, but the suggestion was to increase the double click speed in the preferences, this did not help.

I also have to make sure gray images are real gray not cmyk gray. Is there a preflight for that?

In the PReflight tool there is a checkup that can automaticaly control black texts, this is less time consuming than doing it manually…;-)

  • Calibri font not printing - created with Acrobat XI pro 11.0.4 in Word 2007

Hi, we recently upgraded to Adobe Acrobat XI pro (11.0.4) and when we create a PDF in Word using the Calibri fonts, it doesn't print when using Adobe Reader X.
Prints ok when using Quark or other software, just not working with Office.

    Thanks for your answer.
We are in a controlled office environment and unfortunately we cannot receive updates due to company policies. We have to wait until they do another "package" with an upgraded version.
It's printing ok with Adobe Reader XI, but not Reader X (which is our actual default Reader). And again they cannot install Reader XI to all (only me since I'm a graphic designer, I have admin rights). We tried on other printers, not working too. Font is embeded too. It's working when using another PDF maker (like we have PDF X Change, it's working). Was working also with our previous Acrobat X Pro.

  • Acrobat X Pro ouput preview issue

I have recently upgraded Acrobat from version 9 to 10. I frequently use the separations preview in the Output Preview tool to check the black separations on PDF files I receive for printing. When I try to click the black separation on and off again, I have to hold down on the mouse button for about half a second otherwise the separation checkbox doesn't toggle. It's not the end of the world but a pain when I have to check many multiple page PDF files. It didn't have this problem with the previous version 9. Has anyone else noticed this? I was wondering if it's an Acrobat bug or just an issue with my installation.

Thanks for checking that Steve. After poking around I tried changing the Double-Click speed in the Mouse preferences to as fast as it will go and it seems to make a big difference when toggling a separation on and off and back on again. So I'm happy.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro-Is it possible to script Print with Preset?

    Hello,
Does anyone know if this is possible? From what I understand, even if you create a batch to print, you have to set the print presets in Acrobat to how you want the PDFs to print. Sometimes we need duplexed pages, sometimes we need marks, etc. I can't imagine I'm the only one who has dealt with this, but I can't find any scripts that are even in the ball park.
If anyone has a script available or can create a script to print with a preset or print with static settings, I will try modifying it to my needs.
Thanks for any assistance with this.
    Danny

The options availible for scripted print settings are all shown in the entry for "PrintParams" object in the Acrobat JavaScript Reference.  Have you looked to see if these options fit your needs?  If they do, and if the script can detect which PDF requires which options, then  you're in business.  But if the options you need are not there, then your only option is to set the batch process to display the print dialog for every PDF.

  • PDF previewer in Microsoft Outlook

For some reason, I have lost the functionality for previewing PDF files in Microsoft Outlook. While I can double click on PDF attachments in emails and open Adobe Acrobat Full Product, I cannot preview them. "This filed cannot be previewed because of an error with the follower previewer - Adobe PDF Preview Handler." I have tried to turn on and off that function in Outlook. I have uninstalled Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, taking care to have outlook closed when I do so. I have also installed, uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader. I have gone to the Microsoft knowledge base. None of this makes a difference. I figure somewhere, a file has been deleted or corrupted. Any thoughts? Thanks.

It appears that Outlook cannot open .pdf attachment because there is a missing link between Acrobat and Outlook. Tow possibilities for this problem might be such:
    1. You have both Acrobat Reader also installed on your system. Adobe recommend that both product (Reader and full Acrobat) should not be on the same system. If this is the case for your system, you should uninstall Reader.
    2. Another possibility is that something is wrong with you Acrobat installation. On my system, there two Acrobat icons in the Outlook toolbar. If this is not the case on your copy of Outlook, try a repair operation on Acrobat and see if this solves your problem. If that does not work, do a repair on Microsoft Outlook.
    Good luck.

  • Can I add encryption security using Acrobat 9 Pro?

    Hi,
I need to create a pdf with an ecryption security, this pdf will be emailed and the encryption must restrict the "editing changes allowed" but it should allow the recipient to print the pdf.
I heard this can be done using Adobe Acrobat X Pro, I don't have this one installed, I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, is it possible to use this type of Acrobat for this type of encription?
    Thanks

It is possible with Acrobat 9.

  • Acrobat XI Pro won't activate on Windows 8.1

Acrobat XI Pro won't activate on Windows 8.1 after loading from DVD.  The serial number is recognized as valid, but the Acrobat version choices that are listed don't include Acrobat XI Pro.

It is possible you are installing an upgrade and it is asking you to provide information for the previous version that you already own.  When you purchase an upgrade you are normally asked for which version you already own and the serial number for it as well.

  • Outlook 2007 PDF preview on Windows Server 2003?

Simple question. Does the new (Reader 8.1) PDF Preview feature for Outlook 2007 work in Windows Server 2003? Or is it only for XP and Vista? The patch notes strongly suggest the latter, but in other places (such as a blog on this site) there are notes explicitly stating that the feature should work in server operating systems.
We happen to be running Citrix (PS4.5) on this server as well, but I'm not convinced that's material: the feature doesn't work running Outlook on the server's own console.
When I attempt to preview a PDF in Outlook 2007, I am told, "This file cannot be previewed because of an error with the following previewer: Adobe PDF Preview Handler".
Before I go much farther with troubleshooting this, can anyone confirm firsthand that PDF previewing works in Outlook 2007 on Server 2003?

I was using Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.1.2 and Outlook 2007 on Server 2003 SP2 and the Adobe PDF Preview Handler worked.
Unfortunately, it stopped working after some time and I'm pretty sure I did not make any changes to the system. However, I did try to uninstall, reinstall and update Adobe Acrobat but still, it does not work.
Any ideas why this is happening how to resolve it?
    Many thanks.

  • PDFing from PPT 2007 using Acrobat 9 Pro - custom options

I have just installed Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and i have (unfortunately)PowerPoint 2007. I need to be able to export as a pdf to very specific parameters for our print house and they do not want to play with each other very well. PPT has an idiot button that defaults straight to a pdf without letting me set up the doc in the manner needed - i.e. as handouts at 2400 dpi. I can set the output for everything but the handout feature. That has to be done using the print option in PPT. When we load a driver labeled Adobe PDF and i print to file - the .prn file gets cranky and looks for a specific joboption extention that has been created and saved where Adobe went when i did a save as under the preferences for the settings needed for the print house. It doesn't seem to know to look there when trying to make a pdf using a .prn file. Any suggestions??
    Thank you,
    Barbara

Don't print to file. If you want to convert the PRN file, open it in Distiller. The conversion settings are in the settings file on the second menu in Distiller. They may be ignored since you created the prn file with the Adobe PDF printer.
When you get a settings file from a printer that you need to use, open Distiller and under the menu items with the settings file, select to install a new settings file. Then install the one you received. Once it is installed, go back to PPT and print the handouts to the Adobe PDF printer (no printing to file, but direct). Before you print, select the printer properties and change the settings file to the new one loaded into Distiller.
    That should do it.

  • Adobe Acrobat XI pro version, Windows 7, running on iMac parallels, converting pdf to a pdf with reduced size is not possible, error: error in converting the file! What to do? Its a bit annoying not to be able to store pdf files in reduced size, any idea?

    Hi Jorg ,
Are you trying to reduce the file size with the "Reduced size PDF" in the save as other option.
Give it a try if you haven't done it prior.
Open that PDF>File>Save as Other>Reduced size PDF.
If possible ,please share the snapshot of the error message with us so that we can have a look in order to assist you further.

If you have Acrobat Pro Extended that is a PC Product. You've clicked on wrong Forum. Go back to main page the click on Acrobat and choose PC forum. Extend has such features as XML based PDF Forms which Acrobat Pro Mac can't handle.
