Acrobat 9 Pro not initialized, not printing. What to do?

Acrobat 9 Pro is giving me an erroro message "cannot print not initailized" when I try to print to PDF. If I reboot, I canprint 1 document and then error message appears again. I have reinstalled the software and it doesn't help. Is therea bug with this software? What can I do?

Do you get a message if you try to open Acrobat directly? It sounds like you did not activate the product.

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro not printing correctly

Having issues with printing through Adobe Acrobat X Pro. For some reason, sometimes when i am printing pdfs, they will come out looking different from what is on screen. It looks as though it is compressing the pdf to a smaller size, although the images and fonts are the same size. It's basically changing the spacing on the paper. One of the documents is a fill in form for customers so it looks very strange that all the lines are spaced differently when the document is set up properly. The other weird thing is that it doesn't do it every time. It's hit or miss. Printing from the same HP LaserJet Pro 500 and haven't touched a single setting on the printer or in Acrobat. Any ideas?

I don't think it's page scaling. Here's the settings below. It's not scaling it down proportionally. The document has about 1.5 inches of space at the bottom
and when printed sometimes there is 3 inches of space and it isn't all of the line spacing that is decreased, only some of them. That's the strage part. It doesn'ty alter the size of the whole document, just random parts of it. I will probably switch the auto portrait/landscape option, but that shouldn't affect this.

  • Acrobat reader will not print what is showing on the screen

I created a business card in a graphic design program,  exported it as a PDF file. When I open the pdf file in acrobat, it will display correctly on the screen, but will not print correctly.
When I click on the print icon, a box opens and shows a small preview of what is supposed to print. What shows in the small preview box is correct, but when it prints, it drops off text.
When I go back to the program that created the card, it will print correctly from that program.  When I open the pdf file in Photoshop, it will print correctly in Photoshop.  It just drops off text in Acrobat Pro or Acrobat Reader when printing.

This sounds very similar to the issue that I am having.
acrobat pro printing correctly ,same file with adobe reader printing grey instead of black.
Unfortunately I have not yet gotten any feedback, and your post being over 45 days without a response doesn't bode well for my issue either.
    Sorry I can't help you.

  • Acrobat 7 Pro not Printing Some Layers

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me with an issue I'm having printing layered acrobat files.  Many of my layers are not printing for some reason.  This only happens on page 1 of a two page pdf.  This is happening on Acrobat 7 pro on both Windows XP and Windows 7.  It happens on several computers but for some strange reason it behaves on a third computer.
    Thanks in advance, Stephen

That's a guaranteed sign of a conflict between the Print Driver for your Printer and the Version of Acrobat you have.
First upgrade to the very latest version of Acrobat you can for the version you have.
Then go to to Printer website and the the very latest Driver they have.
I'll will almost bet a wooden nickel that you have a Hewlett-Packard Printer.
Adobe and Hewlett-Packard have had a known for years love/hate, yin/yang relationship. Every time Adobe would make a small change to Acrobat code. It would bust HP's Print Driver code. Usually it showed up as diagonal lines from one corner to the other. The only work around is Print as image. (looks like an old time TV that has the Horizontal hold out of adjustment.) as of Lat through Acrobat 8 and 9 they've buried the hatchet apparently.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro not compatible with Vista Ultimate

I am running Vista Ultimate and have Acrobat 9 Pro. When I print and choose "Adobe PDF Converter" as my printer I get the following error:
    Interactive services dialog detection
    Program(s) of devices(s) requesting attention.
Message title: Test Page.pdf Adobe Acrobat Pro
    Program path: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat9.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.dll
    Received: November 15 -08, 9:23:58 PM
This problem happens because of partial incompatibility with Windows Vista. Please contact the program of device manufacturer(s) for more information.
Once I acknowledge this the new .pdf file appears.
Do I have a setting wrong?
    Thanks

I am having the same problem in Windows 7, did Adobe ever come up with a solution.
We recently upgraded our systems to Windows 7.  Since the upgrade, the 'interactive services detection' dialog box opens every time I create a PDF file (I am using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro).  Is there any way to correct this?  Acrobat used to open when the file was created (WinXP), now I get the 'isd' box.  It creates the file, but the dialog box comes up asking me to view the message.  It takes me away from my desktop to view the file (goes to black screen and then displays the file) and I have to close the file in order to get back to my desktop (black screen then back to desktop).  I was able to disable it by going into printer preferences and unchecking 'view adobe pdf results', but I would really like to be able to view my PDF's when they are created.   (We had Adobe Acrobat Reader X installed initially on the system and then installed the full version of Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, using AAP9 as the default program for pdf's.  I don't remember if this problem has been occurring since we installed the full version or after Reader X was uninstalled (program was acting funny, so we uninstalled.)  Any suggestions are appreciated.

  • Acrobat X Pro not working, tryed to re-install and does not recognize Serial Number?

Acrobat X Pro not working, Serial Number not recognized?

    Hi lv123321,
Do you have Acrobat only License no or is it a part of suite. If Acrobat X pro is a part of suite then you need to use the suite setup to install Acrobat.
Also if possible could you please private message me the serial no so I can try decoding it.
    Regards,
    Abhijit

  • Download Acrobat X Pro NOT Acrobat XI Pro

I own the creative suite which includes Acrobat X Pro. I need to download only Acrobat X Pro, not the whole 15gb creative suite, but I can only find a link to download Acrobat XI Pro, which I do not have a serial for.
The fact that I have to spend an hour searching to download a product I purchased is absurd.

  • Does not print what is shown in bounding box

    PE9:
I have a 5.33 x 4 sized photo (.psd). What is shown in the bounding box does not print - it is cut off.
    In #2 (printer settings) I have tried both borderless 4 x 6 and just 4 x 6, landscape.
    In #3 (paper size), I have selected 4 x 6.
In #5 (select print size), I have tried both actual size & 4 x 6, with the crop to fit box unchecked.
It makes no difference, the photo printed cuts off the top & bottom of the photo.
It does not print what is shown in the bounding box.
I added text but did not flatten yet.

Please relaunch PSE and update or reinstall printer drivers. Also reset the PSE preferences by:
       1. Close Elements.
       2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Edit.
       3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
    4. try printing now.
Do enable print preview from printer preferences to check what is the preview printer is showing which is passed to printer for output. try priting from Organizer.
For paper/color saving i would recommmend try priting in XPS or Adobe PDF and check the output and then print on actual paper
    Let me know your comments,
    thanks,
    Garry

Acrobat 7 Pro Redownloaded but no print capabilities...Anyone? Anyone?  Buehler?

    Windows 7
    It’s a conspiracy I tell ya, a conspiracy!
I have to change computers as XP is no longer supported by MS, and AAPro7 is not compatible with Window 7, it’s too late to get an upgrade to any other version so now I am forced to buy a new full version of something I had that was working perfectly, that I already paid $$$ for!   >sigh<
I tried the link that the chat line guy gave me but it does not activate a full version. It looks like AAPro 7, but it no act like AApro7…   Any suggestions?

My Acrobat 8 Pro is failing to print to a pdf from multiple software.  I get an error message that a repair fixes but only for a little while.  Pretty soon the trial version of 9 that I installed pops up telling me it has expired but it would take me to a way to buy a valid serial number and then 8 stops working again.  I’d be happy if the 8 I paid for worked right or I could get 9 for a small cost but I cannot afford $450 or $20/month.  I need a permanent solution that I should be already paid for with 8 pro.

After multiple repair procedures with reboot in AA8 I was eventually able to restore the printing to pdf function from various software.  However I have again lost my Acrobat tab in Outlook 2007.  I need that back, but today an even bigger problem arose.  AA8 has stopped printing to fax.  It faxes a blank page.  The only fax printing option is “Microsoft Shared Fax Driver”.  My fax software is “Windows Fax and Scan” and it was working fine just a couple weeks ago.  My OS is Windows 7 Professional.
I have tried doing the updates you referred to but I get error messages like these:
“No qualifying products found to apply this update, or update has been already applied”
    or
“The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing , or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program.  Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch.”

  • Adobe Acrobat XI Pro not working (at all) following update

I have been have issues with my Adobe Acrobat XI Pro for a few weeks now.  It stopped allowing me to view, create and print pdfs a few weeks ago.  As I teach part time online at a university- I commonly use pdf's to provide information to my students.  I also use pdf's to transfer data back and for from my work computer - for my full time job - to my home computer and back again.  Not having this availability is really hindering my work.
My computer runs on Windows 7 with a 64 bit operating system.  Up until a few weeks ago I had no problems.  I'm thinking an update may have gone through that caused the issues.
In order to reload my full program I had to completely reformat one of my drives which I had remnants of an old adobe version on it- unfortunately, I did not realize that outlook was still pointing to this drive so I lost a lot of data in the long run- needless to say this adobe issue is has been more than just a nuisance to me.
Once the drive was clean- I was able to reload my software for Adobe XI Pro. It worked perfectly after I loaded it.  At least I was able to breath a sigh of relief.  The next day (yesterday) I was informed that some security updates were needed on the program- considering the age of my disks- It seemed plausible and I received the updates.  This evening, as I was setting up my course for winter semester- I tried to open a pdf- and low and behold- I am back where I was- I can't do anything again.  What is going on here?  I need this program to work- yesterday!  Actually I needed it weeks ago when I started realizing I had issues.
There has to be a fix out there for this problem- and I can't be the only one with this problem.  I would appreciate any suggestions that anyone has!
    Thank you!

    Bill-
Thanks for the suggestion- but unfortunately this doesn't work- the reason being is that "Repair" is not option.
I took a snapshot and attached it of what is available for me when I click on Adobe and as you can see- Repair is not an option.
I'm getting to the point of frustration- I will probably uninstall adobe again and refuse to get any updates for it.  I honestly do not know what else to do.
Without adobe I can't post assignments for my college students to my website.  Winter term starts tomorrow and I am very much behind schedule because of this problem.
I can't be the only person having this issue.
Again- I do appreciate the suggestion.  Wish it would have worked.

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro Not Working, InDesign is Finicky

I purchased CS6 a little while ago and now Adobe Acrobat X Pro is not working at all.  This is a major problem because I cannot access PDF files, which is the file type I use most.  Also, InDesign doesn't save my files correctly and sometimes just shuts down without notice.  I use those two programs the most so I'm not too sure what problems the other programs potentially have.  This same problem happened to my co-worker and she was emailed new download codes and now CS6 works perfectly for her.

  • Acrobat 8 Standard not printing at PC with Win7 64 bit

Hello I installed Acrobat 8 Standard at brand new PC with Win7. It does not print into PDF although Acrobat itself works....
I tried to download updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows for version 8.x but it cannot be installed.
    Please advice what to do.

It says (in Czech langugae) something like "Installation system of Windows cannot install repair tool for upgrade, because programme you want to upgrade was not found. It is also possibble this repair toll serves for upgrade of another version of the programme. Please check if programme you want to upgrade is installed in your PC and if you use correct repair tool"
This was an aswer when attempting to install
Adobe Acrobat 8.1 Professional and Standard update - multiple languages (AcrobatUpd810_euro_incr.msp)
    Before it I installed this:
    Adobe Installer Transform Tool
    268KB
    8/21/2008
    Adobe Customization Wizard 8
