Acrobat 9 Pro re-installation problem

I have a new PC where I installed Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Premium. I deactivated the programs on my old machine succesfully and so far InDesign and Photoshop are fine. However, when I installed Acrobat (software is on a separate CD), I get the message "Invalid Serial Number.  This is not a valid serial number.  Please go back and re-enter your serial number". I'ved used the serial number on my License Certificate, it is a separate one, not the same as the one of the Design Premium.

There is a kb document on this error.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 Installation Problem

I've had Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 running fine for several years on XP Pro.  Our company rolled out upgraded hardware with a new image about a year ago, and I cannot successfully install 8 on any of the units.  Most recent issue, using CD, install went up to accepting end user license. I accepted and then installation froze and I had to End Program.  When I try to launch now, Getting Started splash screen comes up then program freezes and terminates.  It seems like a permissions/security issue, can anybody assist?

I assume the new system is Win7 and most likely a 64-bit system. If so, you may just have to upgrade to AA XI. Folks have gotten AA8 to work on a Win7 32-bit system. You might be successful if you download the updates for AA8 and install those. I think it took at least AA8.1 to work with a 64-bit XP.

Hi! I'm trying to install Acrobat Pro 9, but it keeps telling me,
"Error1335. The cabinet file 'PCW_CAB_ACRO' ... cannot be used. ..."
If I click "ignore", it can not finish the installation and i have to cancel it.
What can I do about this?

    Hi linzo123,
This eror usually comes up when the installer is not able to access the necessary files from the media.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro XI - Installs in Slovenian and Not In English Even Though English Selected At Inst

    Hello:
I have downloaded, installed, opened, closed, removed, cleaned registry and reinstalled Acrobat Pro XI three times and each time it installs in Slovenian and not ENGLISH (North American). English was the language that I down loaded from the Adobe website and it was the language that was clearly selected for the INSTALL.  Unfortunately, it always loads Slovenian.  Is there a registry hack or some simple way to change the language to ENGLISH (North American), since I cannot read Slovenian?
    Thanks!
    Doug

    Hi dshuck,
Please let us know if you are using Windows or Mac. If you are using Mac then you can try this step to fix the issue
    Open System Preferences.
Choose View > Language & Region or click the Language & Region icon.
In the Languages pane, remove all other language leaving English (US). If you don't see your language, click the Add Language button.

  • Acrobat Pro 8 Printing Problems with Xerox 252 Fiery

printer: Xerox 252 with Fiery Controller
    Software: Acrobat Pro 8
    OS: WinXp pro
The problem occurs when I am printing a binder that consists of 8x11 and 11x17's. The printer locks up and does not print. We have had the Xerox techs come out but after numerous trouble shooting efforts we came to a conclusion that there is an issue with Acrobat 8.
Also, in order to print an 8x11 or 11x17 there is a need to go through and set the file size for each time we print. The check box "print by pdf source size" is checked and we are still having problems.
I've had no issue with Acrobat 7 and the problems I'm having are with Acrobat pro 8.

Correction it's a Xerox Docucolor 242 PS with Fiery

  • Acrobat Pro 9.2 problem printing to from IE8

I have been having a pretty consistant problem since doing a clean install of Win7 Pro and Acrobat Pro 9.2.  If I print preview a webpage and then try to print from it to a .PDF, the screen comes up asking where to file the printout and just hangs.  I can't do anything in the windows explorer window that opens to pick a place to save the file.  I can't cancel it.  The only way to get back it to force it shut down IE8.
Anyone else experiencing this and have you found a solution?
I have also had a few site where a link opens a .PDF and the same thing happens if you try to save the .PDF that you are viewing.
    Thanks,
    ...Rich

Mac OSX 10.6.2 with Acrobat pro 9.2.  When I open Acrobat it will open, however when I try to do anything it will immediately freeze causing the need to restart my laptop.  If I try to open a .pdf file, Acrobat will open, but if I try to do anything with the file, such as save, edit, print or even close the file it freezes.  This has been going on for the last few days, yesterday I updated to version 9.2 in hoping that it would be the fix to the problem.  It hasn't fixed it. Anyone have any ideas?
Try Running Disk Utilites and Repair Permissions.
Use a Utility such as Cocktail, or Oynx to remove Font cache files.
Run Font Book and Resolve Font Conflicts (more than one copy of the Same Font).
Also while in Font Book select all you fonts  (Command/apple-A) click on a Font, then choose Validate Fonts.
Try these and come back with results. Someone else  May be able to come along and suggest something else to look at.
(Please note information is given by an Experienced User of Acrobat. I am not an employee of Adobe.)

  • Acrobat Pro 9.4 Problems

I am having several problems with my Acrobat Pro. When I am adding pages to a document, (dragging and dropping from explorer) the pages pane is hiding pages where I can't get to them. If I have 11 pages, and the page pane set to see two pages at a time, the 11 page will be just barely peaking out at the bottom but the scroll bar won't go down any further. I can't place pages at the end of the document cause I can't see the last page.
Also, it keeps adding multiple drawings backwards....... if you grab documents 1 - 5 in explorer, drag and drop them into acrobat, acrobat drops them 5-1.....
It didn't use to do this. It has been doing it for a couple of months. I am on a fresh install of the whole computer so it is not corrupted software. It has to be in one of the last updates. There has to be a way to fix this.
    Thanks

Any idea about the backwards thing?

  • Acrobat Pro XI installation/activation PLEASE HELP THANK YOU

I downloaded and installed Adobe Acrobat Pro XI, completed the installation, but when trying to open the programme, it gives me an error saying that it cannot connect with the internet or verify my Adobe ID or that my clock might be set wrong. My clock is fine, so is my internet connection and I blocked my anti-virus just to make sure. Nothing works! It allows me to use the test version for now, but how can I help this? Thanks in advance!

    Hi michalr23191990,
Could you please let me know what version of OS are you working on.
Please note that after installing Acrobat XI, you need to sign in to Adobe.com using your Adobe ID credentials to activate the software.
If possible, please share the screenshot of the error message so that I can analyze the exact issue.
    Hope to hear from you.

  • Acrobat pro x installation on 2nd computer

How do I install a downloaded acrobat pro on a second MAC computer?

Have you got the serial number of your product?  If so then it is simply a matter of inserting your CD in the drive and follow the on screen instructions.  You are allowed to install all Adobe products on two systems without any problems.
For downloaded digital products, you need to double-click on the downloaded file and then follow the online/onscreen instructions.  Please remember the folder name where you have saved the file as the file could be saved in Downloads folder or anywhere on your system depending on how you have set it up.
    Hope this helps.

  • Acrobat Pro X font problems.....

    Afternoon
When we print combined docs from acrobat pro x it is corrupting the fonts and but square boxes or jibberish in place of text, however if we take the same document and print it from Acrobat 9 it works?????
    Any ideas why?

Thanks so much for your response.  I actually tried this first and had the same results.  Since I posted this, I was able to find a solution.  There is a problem with IE9.  After downloading Google Chrome and following the download instructions, everything worked fine.  Hope this helps others.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 License Problems

We have successfully installed Acrobat Pro 9.3 on several Windows XP machines, but on others when we try to install we get an error stating that we have an invalid serial number.  It is an enterprise serial number, and like I said does work for most machines.
Any ideas on why the license works for some but not others.

They are setup the same.  The weird thing is I can install Adobe Acrobat 8 just fine on the machines that will not allow me to install 9.

  • Question for acrobat pro xi installation

I am a creative cloud member. Although I have downloaded acrobat xi pro it wasn't working properly. I've unistalled it and now that i try to install it again from the creative cloud it can't be done. I have a full year membership and the desktop client of the creative cloud says my acrobat is uptodate but it is not in my comp anymore. What can i do? I have unistalled the aCrobat pro xi because it kept being giving me a message of a trial application. I have a mac and running mavericks.

    Hi artyuppie,
You can try download the Adobe Acrobat cleaner tool to clean the left overs from the computer first, then restart the machine and try again to install.

  • Acrobat Pro 9 - Signature - problems

I have used Acrobat Pro for a number of years for editing and filling out forms (newbie).
I had a signature set up in the last Acrobat (I think 7) which was a typed signature saying it was digitally signed and gave the name and date.
    Here is my question:
I am completely lost in trying to set up my signature in Adobe and need some help.  I have 2 signatures in .jpeg form and would like to use these if possible.
Thank you guys for your help and I have continually browed the forums and picked up a few tricks of the trade.
    H

Is this something you want to use as the signature appearance for a digital signature, or just add the image as you would with a stamp?

  • Acrobat Pro X launch problem

I am having trouble launching Acrobat Pro X trial after downloading to my lap top - any ideas why this is happening ?

    Ankit,
That is correct - nothing happens.
Today I ran scans and the following messages were sent:
1: 'Incompatible Application' with the triangular warning sign
2: 'Acrobat failed to send a DDE command'
I am getting to the point of frustration and going to uninstall everything before it does
    damage to my hard drive.
I also understand that uninstall will not remove all aspects of the program from my
hard drive but this is giving me a very bad impression of the Acrobat program.
