Acrobat 9 Pro Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with a Canon MX 850 on a wireless network for my notebook.  I am unable to scan any documents from the scanner to the notebook using Abode Acrobat 9 Pro.  I can print PDF from the notebook but unable to create PDF documents.  I tried to select the scanner from the configure presets.    The scanner is not found.
How do add the scanner in and create a pdf?
I have a desktop on the same network using Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit.  I am able to create PDF from the desktop.

Thank you for your reply.  I resolved the issues with Canon Technical Support after a couple calls.  The Canon Drivers were uninstall and reinstalled using a USB connection with the scanner.  Once the wireless connection was established with the router the USB connection was removed.
There is a conflict with the USB connection and the wireless network.  The notebook will not reboot if the USB connection is attached with the wireless router.
The Canon Scanner Software and the Adobe software did not work with the available printers.
The scanners use the printer "Canon MX850 ser_000085CFF09F" to scan the documents.  The printing functions use the Canon Series MX850.

  • Failure to install Acrobat Pro Windows from cs3

I installed cs3 yesterday and it installed all apps but Acrobat Pro...I tried 3 times to install just Acrobat Pro but each time it stated "failed to install" - what can I do to install this?  Prior to this I ahd cs3 installed correctly (including Acrobat Pro) for a long while and all worked fine.  However, last week I suddenly had problems with Acrobat (it gave runtime error) so I uninstalled and tried to reinstall...then all the above occured.  At one point (just to view a doc) I installed current reader version from online...but promptly uninstalled it to try and reinstall Pro again...any help would be appreciated!  Kathy

Thanks...this worked...I am now closer than before to re-using the
software...however, now I have a new error message on Acrobat Pro from CS3:
"Missing PDFMaker files.  Do you want to run the installer in repair mode?"
When I select "yes" the system takes for ever to do nothing.  Any insight on
    this?

  • Install order of Acrobat Pro and other CC applications

I work at a college and we're just getting started with Creative Cloud. When setting up the first seat of CC for my institution, it was a device license on a Windows 7 system. Only after my first attempt failed did I find the instructions for the command-line install of Acrobat Pro, and that it needed to be done before any other CC applications. This was surprising, but the instructions were effective after I uninstalled everything and started over.
Now I have a named user to set up on a Mac OS 10.9.5 system, and I'd like to do it right the first time. Anyone out there have any advice for me on this?
    TIA, David

The command line install for Acrobat Pro Windows 7 is not that bad, the install information is all included in the packager once the its created.
In your exceptions folder there is file called Exceptioninfo.txt, if you read this you will see the correct way to install using command line.  Below is an example of how to create a batch file to double click instead of typing these commands repeatedly.
Going even one step further you can do the following.
    1) Copy the deployment package to the desktop
    2) in the Exceptions folder create a new text document and call it "Acrobat_installer" or something of that nature, copy and paste the following into it.
    cd \users\(username) \desktop\(Package folder name)\(package name)\Exceptions
    ExceptionDeployer --workflow=install --mode=pre
    3) Enter your windows user profile name in (user name) - Enter the (package folder name) enter the (package name you created)
    4) Save the text document as "Acrobat_installer.bat"
Keep in mind you will copy this .bat file into the exceptions folder of your deployment package.
Lastly ensuring the user name is correct, run the batch file(.bat)  on the PC.
Here is my example:  Bold are the parts I mentioned above.
cd users\cpreslar\desktop\TAG_CCIP_7_14_2014\TAG Creative Cloud Installer Package 7142014\Exceptions
    ExceptionDeployer --workflow=install --mode=pre
Feel free to use this next time you have to do a windows deployment.

  • Acrobat Pro always on top during batch OCR ! ;(

    Hello,
Do you know a way to change the default behaviour of Acrobat Pro 11 as it comes back always on top each time there is a new pdf file to OCR during a batch OCR process ?
This is very annoying as I have to click each time on the other window I was focusing on !
Example: I was on reading something in Firefox, then Acrobat Pro window appears - too bad! - I need then each time to click on Firefox in order to get back on what I was reading !
    Thanks in advance
    Win7 64bits Acrobat Pro 11, tools/action wizard using only : OCR and Save .

    Hi,
There are 2 resolutions for this issue:
1: Uncheck Prompt user checkbox while creating the Action:
2: Use Tools -> Text Recognition -> In Multiple Files option
    Please use either of them.
    Thanks,

  • I installed Adobe Acrobat Pro XI on my Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) machine. It won't start.

I installed Adobe Acrobat Pro XI on my Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) machine. I double click the desktop icon and double click on a PDF file and the hour glass (circle) appears for about 5 seconds but no Adobe Acrobat.

If it's not launching you can try repairing it from the control panel.  If that doesn't work then try reinstalling it.

  • Acrobat Pro X PDF previewing not working in Windows 7 64-bit

    Greetings, all,
The organization I work for recently purchased a volume license for Acrobat Pro X.  We uninstalled Adobe Reader from all of our machines and installed Acrobat Pro X on them.  After the move, the PDF preview handler stopped working.  People commonly link to the URL below, but it has not worked for us.  It appears it only works for the PDF preview handler packaged with Adobe Reader, not the one packaged with Acrobat Pro.
    http://www.pretentiousname.com/adobe_pdf_x64_fix/index.html
Users are unable to preview PDFs in Windows Explorer and Microsoft Office Outlook 2007.  When attempting to preview in Windows Explorer, the following appears:
       This file can't be previewed.
What can we do to get the preview handler working in Windows Explorer (Windows 7 64-bit) and Office Outlook 2007?
    Thanks in advance!

OK. Then do you mean the thumbnails in Windows Explorer? I don't have a solution for that, but there have been several posts about the issue.
Well, thumbnails in Explorer don't work either, but we're not concerned about it.  The preview pane is what we're worried about.  There is a button in the top-right that turns the pane on.  Previewing in Outlook does not work either.

    Hey jeroenb16613921,
Please specify exactly when you get this white popup screen. While opening a PDF or launching Acrobat by double-clicking on the Acrobat icon.
If it comes when opening a PDF, then where is this PDF actually stored?
Let me know more on the same so that I can analyze the issue.

When installing Acrobat Pro 11 on Windows 7 32 bit, it takes you through all the way to install, then it just hangs and won't install.

    Hi mrmacnology,
Please check and ensure that you should not have any prior version of Acrobat already installed on your computer.
Do you get any specific error message?
You might try installing Acrobat from a different browser.

    Hi 12msonti,
    Please try the following:
Delete the Adobe PCD folder and caps.db file:
    Windows:  \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD

Launch Acrobat and enter the serial number and check.

  • Print multiple PDFs from Windows Explorer causes Acrobat Pro 9.4 crash

I sometimes need to create a batch of PDFs independently, after which it suits me to print them all as a single job. FYI I am running Acrobat Pro 9.4 under Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
The sequence of the problem as follows:
    - With Acrobat closed, I go to the directory containing my multiple PDF files using Windows Explorer.
    - I highlight between three and six PDF docs (each individual doc is small, one page, black and white only).
    - I use the "Print" option made available within Windows Explorer.
It's clear that the system then tries to use Acrobat to print these docs, however I consistently get the same behaviour - some print, some do not, but on every occasion I receive the error "Adobe Acrobat 9.4 has stopped working".
Any ideas? Annoying for a paid-for piece of pro software although, granted, not on a level with famine in the third world it would be nice to have all the functionalities working correctly. If it helps my machine spec is below.
    Thanks,
    Alastair
    SPEC:
    Dual Xeon workstation
24Gb RAM (of which 22GB available at time of error)
    Disk 1TB (RAID10) of which 920GB free
    Windows 9 Ultimate 64bit
    Acrobat Pro ver 9.4.1

It may partly be a 64-bit issue since AA is apparently a 32-bit application that can run in the 64-bit environment (not that familiar with 64-bit systems, so I may not be stating it correctly. However, I would start by going to the Control Panel>Programs and Features and do a repair on your Acrobat installation. That will hopefully resolve the issue.

  • Installing Acrobat Pro 7 on Windows 7: Adobe PDF Printer won't install

Moving to a new system, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit  Already installed FrameMaker 8, without installing the Adobe PDF printer.  Now trying to install my trusty copy of Acrobat Pro version 7.  I get a "Warining 20225" (see attached), and the printer driver does not install.
What do I have to do here?  Uninstall FM8, uninstall Acrobat, reinstall Acrobat, reinstall FM8?

What do I have to do here?
Buy and install Adobe Acrobat X.

  • Trying to install Acrobat Pro XI on Windows 2008R2 VM

Our desktop guys ordered Acrobat Pro XI for some 32-bit Windows 7 VM's.
We also have some server applications running 64-bit Windows 2008R2 that need it and I'm attempting to create a silent install for.  I used the customization wizard provided by Adobe and when I attempt to run the command line msi installation, my 64-bit Windows 2008R2 VM blue screens and reboots.
After I bring the VM back up and attempt to run Acrobat, I get the error message "Please uninstall and reinstall the product  .. . .  Error 1".  Not real informative, so not sure where to go from here.
The desktop guys sent me the media and gave me a license key.
Question 1:  Do I need a 64-bit version of Acrobat Pro?
Question 2:  Will a desktop license suffice on a server?
Question 3:  I have 7 servers that require this installation, do I need a different key for each?
Question 4:  Do I really need to license each one via the internet?
    Please help!!
    Thanks
    Mike

You actually need more answers than you asking for. . . . That is to say you should start with the Admin Guide: Acrobat-Reader Enterprise Toolkit Home.
You probably need a volume license. Read up on the server doc, look up the right EULA for virtualized environments, and read the section on granting offline exceptions/serialization/installation. Check out the Wizard Guide as well.
Error 1 doesn't sound like an Acrobat error, but it could be. Make sure you have a clean uninstall before retrying. There's a cleaner tool on LABs.
    32 Bit is ok.

  • Need a driver for Acrobat Distiller 5.0.0.0 that will work on Win 7 Pro SP1 64-bit.  How can I find it?

Need a driver for Acrobat Distiller 5.0.0.0 that will work on Win 7 Pro SP1 64-bit.  Where can I find it, and what file is it?  (Yes, it's an old Distiller that came with Acrobat 5.  So shoot me.  But I do need the driver.)
Win 7 prompted me for an *.inf file.  Any idea?
If I find the original Acrobat 5 CD, which .inf would it be?
(Hey, since I'm asking, also a driver that will work on Win 8.1 Pro 64-bit.)
    Thanks.

There is no .inf file on the Acrobat 5 CD that you can use to create a “driver.” If Distiller 5 even installs and runs on Windows 7 x64, the plumbing that came with Acrobat 5 to automatically feed PostScript files created by the PostScript driver to Distiller simply won't work with modern versions of Windows or any 64-bit version of Windows.
FWIW, Acrobat 5 is five full versions back from the current version. And no, we won't shoot you; you are effectively doing that to yourself!  Your time must be worth something?!?!

  • Install acrobat pro 8 on win 7 64 bit

    Hello
When i install acrobat pro 8 on win 7 it asks for vista disk.  This i have not got as im going from xp.  Can you asvise please?
    Neil

    Thanks, Sara.
I have done just that - I ran the cleaner and removed Acrobat entirely.  Did a fresh install.  Everything looked fine, was able to enter my serial number successfully, and got a successful install message.  Yet when I try to open the program, it will bring up a box briefly which then disappears and the program does not launch.  Subsequent attempts do not even bring up the box.  No program running in task manager.  This is version 11.0.07, running on Windows 7, 64 bit.  I don't know if it makes a difference, but this was obtained through TechSoup.org.
