Acrobat 9 Pro won't let me print to a printer

Whenever I try to print, whether through the icon or the drop down menu, the printer dialog box will pop up, but after I click OK it just sends me to the print to file/save as dialog box. This happens whether I try to print a file through Chrome, Firefox, or directly through Acrobat, and seems like it just started on its own yesterday.
I'm running Windows 7, but other Windows 7 computers in my office can print these same files. I also just updated everything and this is still happening. Thanks for any help.

Sounds like some of your Advanced print functions are getting in the way. Open the Acrobat Print dialog and select the Advanced button and make sure the" Print to File" box is unchecked. You can also select the Settings: dropdown and reset it to Acrobat Default.

  • Acrobat Pro won't let me save previously saved pdf

Acrobat won't let me save current marked-up pdf even though I saved it halfway through. "Save" is grayed out, and when I click "Save As" and try to save with a new name, it says the doc can't be saved because the device is not ready. It won't even let me save it to Acrobat.com. Help! Can't lose all my comments and markups.

Well, now it doesn't matter, because when I went back to the doc, all the text had disappeared in the doc...it only showed my markups. What does this mean?!

  • Application Manger Software License Agreement for Acrobat Pro won't let me choose "Accept."

Just purchased the 12 month subscription to Creative Cloud and got most all programs I wanted installed, including Acrobat Pro. However, when attempting to open a PDF file an Application Manager window pops up with "CS6 Creative Cloud Membership" in the title and "Adobe Software License Agreement" in the header.
There is no other text in said window besides the options "Quit" and "Accept" in the lower right corner; below the Adobe logo in the upper left corner there is a drop menu triangle that opens an empty drop box.
The system we are using is a refurbished iMac 27" running OS x 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. Please advise; this is very frustrating.

Fix described here: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/known-issues-acrobat-xi-reader.html (see Blank EULA screen)
"Blank EULA screen. Problem: Mac OS only. On launch, a blank EULA screen appears, which cannot be accepted, and Acrobat does not run. This problem can appear if you have any products installed from CCM or from Creative Suite, and you tried installing Acrobat XI from a different source.
Workaround: Launch any other product which is part of the CCM or Creative suite. Then, deactivate it by choosing Help > Deactivate. Quit the application. Then, launch Acrobat and accept the EULA. Then, for the CCM subscription product, launch it and select License This Software to enable the CCM product again. If a CS application, launch it and reactivate it. [3338419]"

  • Acrobat/adobe won't let me convert files

It keeps telling me I have to buy the program.  I pay for the Cloud on a monthly subscription and I really need to get this file converted so I can make changes for a meeting tomorrow!

I am logged in and am registered.  It will simply not let me convert most PDF's to word, whether I open it with adobe, acrobat or pro 11.  When I download documents from the school library, I can convert them, anything else I can't.  And I really need to.  What else can I try?

When you close Adobe Acrobat and launch it again if this is not registered yet.
It will ask you to either use serial number or you may see option subscribe .
You can choose subscribe or register and use your Adobe Id (email id registered with Adobe). As you said you have already purchased subscription then you should be able to activate the subscription the moment you
    login with your Adobe id.

I have both a MacBook Pro and macair but the pro won't let me in I think it something to do with hard disc or permissions as it says system profiler in utilities , if anyone could help I'd be very grateful

Restart the MBP and immediately hold the option key down. Release the key when you see the Apple logo. The computer will boot and show you a screen with two hard drive icons.
    Select Recovery and hit Return.
On the new screen, select Disk Utility and hit Return.
    In DU do this:
In the list at the left, select the name of your hard drive. (Be sure to select the name that’s indented to the right in the list, not an item at the far left.)
    Click First Aid.
If Disk Utility tells you the disk is about to fail, back it up and replace it. You can’t repair it.
    Click Repair Disk.
When that is done, click Repair Permissions. Be patient!
When that is done, quit DU and restart in the usual way.

Acrobat Pro won't update from 10.1.6 to 10.1.7, any tips, on Mac…?

    One of two things:
    1.  Go to the Terminal App and type the word "sudo" and hit the Enter/Return key.  If it comes back with a permissions error then seek from Apple to correct it.
    2.  If there is no permissions error in the Terminal app then go to the installation log at "/var/log/install.log" or "/private/var/log/install.log".  Open it up and see if you find an error about failing to write to the file:
./postinstall: Error in converting the plist /Library/Preferences/com.adobe.PDFAdminSettings.plist to xml1 format
If you get the error above then delete the file at the location and try updating again

My Acrobat Pro won't open, how do I restore it?

Yes, updates run each time I reinstall Bill.
On one forum, it was suggested to download Adobe cleaner.  I ran it every time before reinstalling.  Adobe XI Pro works after that, but is so unstable.  Cant figure out what triggers it to stop launching.

  • DVD STudio Pro won't let me delete stills. has brought in ALL my stills

Hi all. In need: DVD Studio Pro won't let me delete STILLS from palette. The minus sign is greyed out even with control-click and shortcut menu. As a result, the program goes through ALL my photos when looking for a cover for my dvd. Makes it impossible to put pix on cover of DVD (when played).
I should be able to DELETE these folders with 1000s of photos! The manual says so but the minus sign still stays greyed.
Also, not sure how it imported all of these in first place? i am currently keeping photos in i-photo, so ....?
Do I need to wipe out the dvd-studio pro and replace. [Of course I am in Rome and don't have that disc!]
HELP if possible is much appreciated.
    best,
    SoundFilm

  • Acrobat Pro won't download.

When I click through it changes the language, and then won't let me switch back to my country of purchase. Then changes back to Adobe main page. I can't find a way to chat with somebody about this, and it's frustrating. It does say that my billing info is being processed, so I don't know if this is related, but it also has the download link so I assume that this literally means the receipt isn't ready, rather than the product.

if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here: Adobe Acrobat XI Pro/Standard and Reader: Direct Download Links | ProDesignTools
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a problem starting the download, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com or initiates the download of an incorrect (eg, current) version.

  • Macbook Pro won't let me move files to HD without authentication. Also when I try to move files from the HD to the desk it just copies them.

My 2013 Macbook Pro running Mavericks 10.9.5 won't let me move files to the HD without authentication. So I have to keep putting my password in. Also when I try to move files from the HD to the desk it just copies them. This just suddenly happened last night. Anyone have any ideas what it could be? Thanks

See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1229?viewlocale=en_US - I doubt that it will solve your problem, though. You may want to post on the iPhoto forum - that's where all of the iPhoto experts hang out.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro won't edit document created by Illustrator 2 and saved as PDF

I've tried multiple things, but can't get Acrobat Pro to edit text within a PDF file which was created by Illustrator cs2 "Accumulated text within the attempted selection area is rotated other than horizontal or vertical.  Touchup cannot create a text selection area.".   I've searched google, read help....
Fix was to download NitroPDF.   It quickly and easily edited the text.   So why won't Adobe do it...

The same thing happens with pdf files that are not zip files even if saved from Acrobat Pro on my computer.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro X 10.1.7 (Mac) does not print correctly.

I have a Mac Pro (Model 1.1) with Adobe Acrobat X 10.1.7.  When an item is scanned, it appears correctly on the screen, but it does not print correctly.  I am sending along screenshots of what a scanned item looks like on the screen and then what prints.

Thanks Michael, have tried that, no luck. I will wait a couple of days to see if any other solutions come up (or if anyone else is suddenly having the same issue) before reinstalling Acrobat.
[OK just tried sending a PDF attachment directly from another program (MYOB) through to Mac Mail and had the same problem so it is not an Acrobat issue afterall, it is a Mac Mail or Mac OS X issue. Will post this on the Apple site.]
I have resolved the MYOB issue, it was working just painfully slow. So I still have the original Acrobat Pro PDF to Mac Mail issue if anyone knows of any solutions please?

  • Acrobat Pro won't load since I reinstalled Photoshop

Had to reinstall Photoshop CS5 today. Acrobat Pro 9 now won't load. Says Suite Product Activation Needed. It asked that I start another component of the suite. I had Photoshop open and it would not load. Any suggestions are welcome. See attched alert image.

I hope this gets through, since I am now not able to even log in to my adobe account (even though I've been an Adobe customer for over 20 years). My user ID and password stopped working at 4:00 today. Was on the phone with adobe for hours, and they are not able to even get me access to my account or products that I bought from them.
Yes Adobe CS5. Tried restarting. Thanks, but didn't work. Adobe said I need to do a complete reinstall of CS5 to get Acrobat to work. I asked "Then why do you give the option of reinstalling apps individually?" No answer. That's when we discovered that I could no longer even access my account or download my purchased products. They said they are "elevating the matter" and I will here from someone in 24-48 hours. So apparently "elevating" means "We are hanging up now. Talk to you in a few days." Try explaining that to my clients.
