Acrobat 9 Reinstall

I have recently had to format my hard drive and reinstall all software. I can not find the download for Acrobat 9 Standard, which I still have my license keys for. Please advise on where to find this. Thank you.

Is there another link for 9.0 Standard? My Standard license key isn't being accepted as Pro was installed (didn't see any other options on the download page).

    Hi Janice,
What version of Mac OS are you using?
Adobe does not recommend migrating the software from one disk to the other.
Please run the setup file for Acrobat and reinstall the software. You might want to delete the existing version of Acrobat installed before reinstalling it.

It's a 3rd party app.  You really should contact Adobe Support and/or post in the Adobe Forums
    Mac OS X (10.6.6)
Use Software Update or the OS 10.6.8 combo update to update your OS.  Also, update everything SU has to offer for your computer.  When done, repair permissions and restart your computer.

  • Adobe Acrobat reinstall issue-serial number

    Hello-
I recently had to do a full reinstall on my Windows 7 OS.  However when I did this it deleted my registered Adobe Acrobat ver. 9 program.  Unfortunetely I do not have my original disks and had to download the program from your website.  AcroPro90_efg.exe.
I retrieved my registered account information with my original serial number.
Upon installling the downloaded version and asked for my serial number I got an error message:  Invalid serial number.  I checked and rechecked the number and still get the error message.
Any help with this would be helpful.
    Thanks.

  • Acrobat reinstall on a Mac/PDF printing issue

I tried reinstalling Acrobat Pro on my Mac because my HP Printer was not printing pdfs.  I got an error message: "Run preinstall script for payload."  I have no idea what this means, and all I really need is to be able to print pdfs from a webpage. (The reinstall was my attempt to update on the Adobe end.)  I also have CS5 installed already.  Please help; thanks in advance.

    Try this:
    1.  Go to Apple menu>System Preference>Printers and Scanners
    2.  Press the plus symbol button "+"
    3.  In the Add dialog select IP at the top
    4.  in the Address field put the numbers 127.0.0.1
    5.  In the Protocol pop-up menu make sure that Line Printer Daemon - LPD is selected
    6.  Leave the Queue field bland for the default printer
    7.  In the Name field it will say "127.0.0.1" and you can leave it to that or change it to anything you want.
    8.  Leave the Location field blank
    9.  Leave the Use field pop-up menu field at the default which is Generic PostScript Printer.
    10.  Click the Add button
    11.  You will get the message:
"Unable to verify the printer on your network.
Unable to connect to '127.0.0.1' due to an error.
Would you still like to create the printer?"
    12.  Click the Continue button.
    13.  In the Setting up '127.0.0.1...' dialog click the OK button
    14.  Open up TextEdit
    15.  Type some test text (e.g.  Test Text)
    16. In TextEdit Go to File>Print
    17. In the Print dialog, press on the PDF button on the lower Left side of the window.
    18.  Select Save As Adobe PDF.
    19.  In the Save As Adobe PDF dialog, select your Adobe PDF Settings and whether or not you want the resulting PDF to open in Adobe Acrobat Pro and then click the Continue button.
    20. In the Save window, title your PDF in the Save As: field, navigate to the location you want to save the PDF and then click the Save button.
    21. Done.
    Enjoy!

  • 8.2.4 update nightmare - acrobat reinstall won't accept serial #

I am a victim of the now infamous 8.2.4 update. I tried the option I read in one of these forums that has us move 3 folders from the library Adobe menu and re-input the serial # on launch, but it won't accept it as valid (? - it's a legally purchased cd).
Moreover, I don't even have the actual disk for CS3 because it's in our main office in a different city (Rome) and I am in Milan...
    What can I do?
Any chance of tricking Acrobat into accepting the new (and fixed) 8.2.4 update over the current (bad) 8.2.4?
    Thank you!

    Thank you both!
I like the idea of making a .dmg copy of the disc (though I am not sure what the process would have been).
At any rate, finally they came out with the patch(below)  and now Acrobat seems to be running just fine...

  • Links not working in Acrobat v9

I have a user who has inserted links to another file in a pdf, using Acrobat v9.  He does this using the Tools - Advanced Editing - Link Tool option.  The links work fine until he links to a file that is not saved within the same folder location as the pdf.  As soon as he does this, he gets an error that the file location cannot be found.  This has worked fine for the user in the past but he has recently had his Acrobat reinstalled.  Is there an option on install that needs to be selected to allow this sort of link to be created and work?
Just another piece of information here, apparently the links work fine when opened by a colleague who is using Acrobat v9.4.7.  The original user is using Acrobat v9.3.4.  Is there something different between these 2 versions?
    Thanks for any help.

Typically this occurs from a link being relative or absolute. Check that the link is indeed properly stated with the link path.

  • Digital Signature crashes Acrobat 9 Pro

An error occurs when trying to Sign any PDF document, even when opening a very simple, one word (Times New Roman text only) PDF document. After opening the PDF in Acrobat Pro (WinXP Pro SP3), selecting Sign, Sign Document, Acrobat allows proper placement of the signature box, and accepts the password for the selected Signature ID. When <Sign> is then selected, Acrobat offers to save the document, and when the save location (any location) is selected, Acrobat returns the error below.
Adobe Acrobat 9.3 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
    Error Signature
    AppName: acrobat.exe AppVer: 9.3.2.163 ModName: acrobat.dll
    ModVer: 9.3.2.163 Offset: 00135fb9
The same source PDF document can be modified, or password protected, and then saved without a problem. Only when a digital signature is applied does the error occur. Acrobat has successfully Signed and saved documents on this PC previously, but starting experiencing this error about week ago. I have uninstalled Acrobat, reinstalled ver. 9.0 and applied the two updates to 9.3.2, and have generated new Digital Signatures, all with the same resulting error when signing a document. The new, signed PDF document is actually created, and a Digital Signature is found in the document, but is invalid, reporting:
    Error during signature verification.
Signature contains incorrect, unrecognized, corrupted or suspicious data.
Support Information: SigDict /Contents illegal data
I have tried the troubleshooting steps in http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403613.html, but without any progress; the error continues to remain. Any advice on how to resolve this will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

    Hi Mike,
After the Save As operation was done, did you see the signature appearance displayed in the signed signature field before you closed the doc? And if did see the signature appearance, did you happen to notice if there was a green check mark displayed in the blue message bar at the top of the file?
    Thanks,
    Steve

  • Acrobat Toolbar in Lotus Notes 8.5

Does anyone know how i can get the acrobat toolbar to show up in Lotus Notes 8.5.
I know this has been an issue in the past and I have already tried the steps of manually adding the add-ons into the configuration files for Notes but that doesn't seem to work any longer.
I'm using Lotus Notes 8.5 fp2 and Adobe 9 Pro
    Any suggestions would be helpful.
    Thanks

Having the same issue in our shop.  So I'm curious if you figured it out.
Same specs, same futzing with the notes.ini file with the add-in line.
Spent 2 hours with Adobe technical support (why is ever interaction with them so uninspiring?) only to be told to unistall Acrobat, unstall Notes, reinstall Acrobat, reinstall notes.
To spare anyone the headache, this doesn't work either.
Becoming more and more disenchanted with the Acrobat product as it relates to Lotus Notes. (suppose they'd just rather have the Microsoft Outlook gorilla sit on them)
I'm the decision maker in our shop and plan to look for ways put the X on and upgrade to Acrobat X.  Surely there is another way to store our emails by subject matter for records retention purposes.

  • Acrobat 6.0 Professional Install Error

    Hello,
I just did a fresh install of Windows XP Home Edition, and when I attempted to reinstall Acrobat 6.0 Professional I received the following error message approximately 85-90% into the install process: "Internal error 2753. Dist_acrodist.exe"
Does anyone know what this error is and how I can overcome it and get Acrobat reinstalled?
    Many thanks!
    Scott

    Scott,
Did you ever get past the error? If so, how? I'm getting the same error on reinstall.

  • Installed Acrobat Pro 9 - requires password to open any PDF & botches InDesign exports to PDF

Installed CS4 on my new Mac, using the downloaded installation file. Everything works except Acrobat. I uninstalled Acrobat & reinstalled it. Same problems remain:
1a. Everytime I open a PDF, I get this message:  "Adobe Acrobat Pro wants to make changes. Type your password to allow this." I have to enter the username & password for my computer to open every PDF. Then they open correctly.
1b. If I open Acrobat from the Applications folder, without opening a file, I get the same message & must enter username & password to open Acrobat.
    2. From InDesign, I export PDFs using File > Export. The PDFs have little rectangles for about half the text in the entire document. I routinely export both hi-res (Print Quality) and lo-res (Smallest File Size) PDFs in InDesign & this happens with all of them.
Most of the work I do results in PDFs. None of them have password protection or other security. I don't see anything in Preferences that looks like it would relate to these issues. Help, please!

Go the the Applications -> Utilities folder. In there you will find the Disk Utility app. When you run that application, you can select your hard drive. Then click on the Fix Permssions button.

  • Open PDF in IE8 with Acrobat, not Reader ?

    Hi Chaps,
I used to be able to open a PDF from a HTML link, which would then open in Internet Explorer 8 using Adobe Acrobat.
Since installing Adobe Reader, all PDFs open in IE8 using Reader, instead of Acrobat, so now I cannot edit the PDF.
I've searched through Preferences in both programs, changed all associated program file types to Acrobat, reinstalled Acrobat but I cannot get it back!
    I'm using Windows 7 [64-bit], Acrobat 9, Reader 9.
If anyone knows which option to change, it'll help me out no end!

Adobe doesn't support Reader and Acrobat on the same Windows computer. Uninstall Reader and then re-install Acrobat.

  • Acrobat closes when opening pdf-maps etc

I have a problem with Acrobat. As soon as I open certain documents with lots of graphics, like maps, the program closes. It only says that "Adobe Acrobat have stopped working. A problem caused the program to close..." (translated). I get no explanation other than that. I have updated Acrobat to 9.3.4, tried different graphic preferences, tried opening with Adobe Reader, but I still get the same error. I have also noticed that Acrobat sometimes uses alot of memory a pdf with the size of 0,5 MB can use more than 200 MB memory. Those memory consuming files are of the same kind as the ones I can't open at all (mostly master planning maps with lots of lines).
Any ideas on what could be wrong?

Your problem's cause might be that you have Acrobat and Reader installed on the same system. Adobe strongly recommends that you
NOT have Acrobat and Reader installed on the same system. You should uninstall Reader, restart Windows, repair Acrobat, and restart Windows again. After removing Reader, restart, repairing Acrobat, and restart and if Acrobat still has the same problem, you should uninstall Acrobat, reinstall it, and apply all updates.
    Good luck.

  • Upgrade of Acrobat XI Pro to 11.0.7 Repeatedly Crashes

I have had a perfectly workable Acrobat XI Pro version 11.0.6 until this evening, when I was invited to upgrade to 11.0.7.  I tried to do so, and received a "Fatal Error" message when then instructed me to uninstall Acrobat, reinstall, and then upgrade.  I have my 11.0.0 installation download file, so I did exactly that, whereupon my machine shut down due to an "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" error.
I then tried to use the restore point to move the system back to the 11.0.6 version, and now I get a "fatal error" message each time I try to open it.
This is extremely unpleasant for me, since I have a full day of business tomorrow that will require use of Acrobat--and I now have no access to the software.
What is your next brilliant idea?

    Hi,
Sorry for the inconvenience, can you please share the crash dump to help us isolate the issue.
You can get the crash dump by following the below mentioned steps:
    1. Install WinDbg from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/hh852365 (Under "Standalone Debugging Tools for Windows (WinDbg)" section)
    2. Launch WinDbg via the shortcut
    3. Open Command Prompt and type in the following commands:
    cd c:\Program Files\Debugging Tools for Windows (x86) windbg.exe –I
    4. This would launch the WinDbg application for a moment and then show a dialog stating that WinDbg is now your default debugging application. Click OK to dismiss the same.
    5. Open Acrobat and do whatever operation that produces the crash \
    6. Once Acrobat crashes, WinDbg will launch by itself. When prompted type in the following command in the WinDbg Console:
    .dump /ma c:\temp.dmp (Hit Enter)
    7. This will create the crash log in C:\ by the name of temp.dmp. Please send it across in a zipped format.
Could you please upload the dump (compress the dump using WinZip or likewise) at some site and provide the link for the same. I will also have a look at the same.
    Thanks for your cooperation!!
    Regards,
    Rohit
