Acrobat 9 Standard won't recognize Canon Lide 200 Scanner

My recently installed Acrobat 9 Standard won't recognize my  Canon Lide 200 scanner even though Adobe Photoshop CS2 does.  I don't know what the problem is and how to solve it.

Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 was recently installed on new Vista 64bit computer and functions with all programs and even prints to my Dell 1600n printer, but when I try to scan from the printer, it causes this error message and shuts Acrobat down:
"ADOBE ACROBAT HAS STOPED WORKING A Problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I have lived with this since I bought the computer a month ago. Still no solution from Adobe and no response to an email that I sent to adobe support.

  • LiDE 200 "scanner driver is not installed" error

I am struggling on a MacBook Pro to restore functionality of a Canon LiDE 200 scanner after it mysteriously began returning the error message:
The scanner driver supported by this software is not installed. Install again and then retry.
The error first appeared under 10.5.8. Troubleshooting that I've attempted:
Downloading new versions of driver (1482) and MP Navigator EX (2.04) from Canon's website
Downloading Apple's Canon printer drivers version 2.3
Logging in as a "test user" and attempting to scan through the Canon application as well as Image Capture.
    No luck
I then loaded that software onto a different laptop computer, which is running 10.6.3. The scanner works fine.
So I returned to the MacBook Pro and updated it with 10.6.3 (using a simple update to the software, rather than remove and replace etc), then loaded all the Canon software once again. Still getting the same error.
Next I opened the Canon application on my second laptop and inspected the processes in Activity Monitor to find every active file, which I then carefully deleted from the MacBook Pro. I also deleted all preferences that I could find. Then, again, I re-loaded the Canon and Apple software and updates. Still getting the error message.
    Stumped.

    Hello Doug,
I also have a LiDE200 and based on your recent findings I have been checking my user Library for files relating to the scanner, however there does not appear to be anything.
Under the root Library there is the Image Capture folder and inside is the Devices folder which has the Canon IJScanner plugin. This is the ICA plugin which is used by Image Capture and Preview. Also inside the Image Capture folder is the TWAIN Data Sources folder, which houses the LiDE200.ds file that is used by TWAIN applications, such as MP Navigator.
These are the two scanner driver resources and with their location they are available to all users. So with only the admin user account having the error there must be something within the admin library but I haven't been able to find what that could be.
Have you ever had a different model of Canon scanner or even another brand of scanner previously? I know that with a previous Canon scanner that used the CanoScan application, there was a plugin for responding to the buttons being pressed on the scanner. If this application and associated files have been brought across to the new install with you user library, then this may be causing the conflict.
I'll keep poking around today and reply with more if I find anything.

  • Why does Acrobat Standard 6.0 recognize scanner but Pro 9 will not?

I am running both programs on an Intel Mac (same machine), 10.5.8 Progam.  My Acrobat Standard 6.0 pulls in the scanner immediately, but my Pro 9 will not recognize the scanner.  Is there something I have to do to get the Pro 9 to recognize the same scanner?

Thank you so much for your patience and expertise.  You spent a lot of time
on this with me.  Maybe Adobe will fix the problem in the future!   Good
    luck to you.  Joyce

After installing 10.9.3 computer won't recognize Canon SD 1200 IS camera: get message "a camera was not detected".  Any suggestions?

I have an older Kodak which they have stopped supporting and I have to take out the SD card and put it in the card slot to download pictures.  I read other threads where this solved similar problems for others.  Some have a separate card reader but I just use the one on my imac.  Wish it was more convienent to get to it though.

  • Am I licensed to use the Acrobat Standard XI bundled with Fujitsu ScanSnap SV600 Scanner in business environment?

    Dear Sir/ Madam,
Am I licensed to use the Acrobat Standard XI bundled with Fujitsu ScanSnap SV600 Scanner in business environment?
I just bought a Fujitsu ScanSnap SV600 Scanner. It comes with an Acrobat Standard XI and a product key. My understanding is that many Adobe product licence keys (e.g. educational version, home use version) are not allowed to use in business environments. My bundled Acrobat Standard XI does not state that it is limited for educational or home use on the CD. Am I licensed to install it in my office computer for business use? Is there anyway for me to review the licensing conditions of my product key?
Thank you very much for your advice in advance!
    William

Adobe software purchased appropriately can be used in any environment the licensed user has. There is no restriction (at least in the USA) on educational customers using the educational license for professional use. I am unaware of any home use versions of Adobe software. There are versions of Adobe software that are directed toward non-professionals (for example Premiere or Photoshop Elements), but there are no restrictions to using in a business as long as it is used by the person it was purchased for (one license-one user). Years ago other countries had different license agreements, but in today’s environment, I do not believe that is the case for current versions of Adobe software. So, yes you can use it in your business. In fact, Fujitsu Scanners like the ScanSnap are geared towards the business user. I am a very happy user of their 1500M scanner (which while designed for a Mac, came with Acrobat Standard software :-)

  • No driver for Canon Lide 80 scanner?

I recently bought a Mac Mini with Lion installed to replace my old Windows PC and upgraded my late 2009 Imac to Lion to be able to use iCloud between my UK base and my second home in France. Everything went well until I realised that neither my Canon Lide 80 scanner or my Canoscan 4400F wwould work with Lion. I am waiting for a responsse from Canon but, meanwhile, any ideas for a workaround? My trusty old HP 920C printer is recognised as a generic printer and works fine but, it seems, there are no generic scanner drivers.

Thank you John. Vuescan worked for my Canoscan 4400F but, in fact, led me back to Canon support where the driver and toolbox, formerly unavailable, had been updated to my scanner. A very satisfying solution.

  • Acrobat XI won't recognize scanner

I installed Acrobat XI replacing Acrobat 9 and the program won't recognize my scanner.
    Setup: Windows 7 x64, Canon MG6120
All other programs, to include Photoshop, work fine with the scanner. The scanner works in other user profiles (for Acrobat XI) on the computer, but not in my main profile. The scanner is on the list of devices for Acrobat XI, but when asked to scan, the program cannot find the scanner. If I attempt a failed scan, on logout from the user profile I get an error associated with LogTransport2.exe. This error only occurs when Acrobat XI attempts a scan an fails.
I have tried deleting all local app data for Acrobat in the user profile, uninstalled and reinstalled the printer but nothing seems to work. I believe it is a configuration error in the specific user profile, but I cannot find out were the information is stored.
    Thanks,

Try logging into your administrative account and see if Adobe Acrobat Pro will communicate with your scanner.
If Adobe Acrobat Pro will communicate with your scanner from the Administrator Account but will not communicate from any other user account.  Log in to the account you prefer and perform the following.   Adobe says it is not
a bug in Adobe Acrobat Pro, but a Microsoft  user profile problem.  I disagree because all my programs work except for Adobe Acrobat Pro.
    1.  Make sure that you have a password for your administrative user account.
    2.  Elevate and display The Command Prompt as follows:
Start > All Programs > Accessories > Right Click on Command Prompt > Right Click on Run as administrator>
Agree to let program make changes to computer > The command prompt will be open.
The command prompt will display something like; C:\windows\system32
    3.  Now it's time to run Acrobat Pro as an Administrator.  You may have to adjust the following statement to get the correct path to acrobat.exe. Edit the command prompt.  Space once after system32 and paste the following and hit enter.
    runas/user:administrator "c:\program files (x86)\adobe\acrobat 9.0\acrobat\acrobat.exe"
    (do not space after 9.0)
    4. Enter the administrator password when asked and hit enter.
    5.  The program should start.
You may wonder why you didn't just right click on the Acrobat icon on your desktop and run as administrator. The reason is because it doesn't work and this does.  I have tested this on Windows 7 Acrobat 9.0 Pro.  It's a pain to go through the steps everytime you open Acrobat Pro, but Adobe won't fix this problem.  I loaded a trial version of 11.0 and they still haven't fixed the problem so we will just have to use work arounds.  I'm not going to hand them another $199 when they refuse to fix the problem that has not been fixed in at least three versions.  Another solution is to create a new administrative type user account and move all your data to the new account.  No Thank you.  Adobe is not on my good list.

  • OS X 10.6.4 won't recognize Canon Powershot sd1000

I'm running OS X 10.6.4 on a Macbook pro, and it won't recognize my Canon powerbook sd1000 digital camera. I've updated the software, to no avail. Other cameras work too. I understand that I can move the card to a reader or another scanner; any tips on how to solve this problem directly?

I had the same problem at first. There is a switch on the back right side of the camera that selects camera, video, or playback. Switching it to playback caused it to be recognized by OSX.

  • Acrobat Standard Won't print first 1/2 page of scanned document

I have a previously unseen problem.  I've had the program for a few years, but now it won't print the top half of the first page of a scanned document (some of them).  I tried to print something I scanned a few weeks ago, and it works fine.  That one's also in color.  The ones that won't print fully are black and white.  Any ideas?

You're going to think this is impossible, but the problem only seems to occur with a couple of particular documents I was scanning.  I tried deleting the file, rescanning and resaving, then printing with the same 1/2 page result.  I tried scanning, saving, and printing a couple of sample documents (thinking I would send one of these to you), and there was no problem!  After multiple attempts with the problem document, I fed it through the document feder backwards, and then it scanned, saved, and printed with no problem.
I'm using a Brother MFC-J6710DW printer, Windows XP Pro, Acrobat Standard 7.0.  I've actually tried to update Acrobat, without success for some reason.  The actual problem document is too sensitive for me to send out.  I'd like to hear ideas, in case this repeats.
    Thank you.

  • Image capture won't recognize Canoscan lide 700f

Hello.  I have OS X, v. 10.6.7   I have been using Image Capture to run the Canoscan lide 700f scanner.  Then, it stopped recognizing the scanner.   Image capture is opened and says "no camera or scanner attached."  The scanner is operational.  The MAC sees the printer in systems preferences > hardware > print and fax. Any ideas on what I can do to get this scanner recognized by Image Capture again?  Thanks for your help.

I had the problem with the same scanner and Lion.  When the Mac would go to sleep, Image Capture would not recognize the scanner after it woke up.  Had to unplug and replug the USB connector to get it to start correctly.  I was blaming it on the scanner driver, but I accidently discovered that if I opened Adobe Photoshop Elements 6, all of a sudden the scanner would respond to an attempt to import from the scanner (to Elements).  After that, Image Capture could talk to it just fine.  So it appears that it is an Image Capture problem and not an issue with the Cannon driver.

  • Acrobat X won't recognize scanner

I recently installed Acrobat X on a Windows 7 x 32 computer. It recognizes my Epson RX-595 as a printer but doesn't recognize it as a scanner. I went through all of the troubleshooting tips with no luck. Any ideas?

Are you sure you have installed the TWAIN driver for scanner?
You can very easily verify this with the following steps:
    1. Go to C:\WINDOWS\twain_32.
    2. Do you see a folder or .ds file with the name of your scanner.
    3. If not, then you have only installed the printer driver and you need to install the scanner driver to get it working.
If you see that TWAIN driver is installed, can you please try scanning with some other applications like mspaint, word to see if this scanner is visible to other applications?

  • Canon Lide 60 Scanner does not work on Mountain Lion

Hi! Is anybody out there who would know how my good old Canon Lide 60 would work with OSX 10.8? Canon says Mountain Lion ist not supported on this device. Anyone an idea what to do without buying a new one? Thank you!

I also was looking for a working driver for ML 10.8
i bought a new canon scanner Lide 110 it's working perfect.
I tried my old scanner( Canon Lide 60) or it should work with this installed canon driver
i'am surprised my old scanner, lide 60  is working min Ml 10.8.4
photoloader does not recognise it. But Vuescan does. i use Vuescan 9.2.21
so the Lide 110 software works on 10.8 en higher for the Lide 60

  • Cannot get Canon LIDE 220 Scanner to work with Acrobat XI Pro, Acrobat will not let scanner add pages to existing PDFs

    Hi
I have recently purchased a Canon Scanner LIDE 220 for my new PC which has Windows 8.1 64-bit and ADOBE ACROBAT XI Professional.
I NEED to be able to open PDF documents and add pages by using the scanner, but the scanner is not being accepted by ACROBAT. I get messages that there is no scanner connected or no driver installed. I have uploaded Canon's latest drivers for the scanner but when I try to get Acrobat to accept the scanner it says the scanner will not accept presets.
    I need some help!!
    Thanks
    Andy White

    Andy,
Some scanners do not support presets, so when you choose an unsupported scanner from the pop-up menu, a dialog stating "This scanner does not support presets" appears. Have you tried scanning using Custom Scan through File > Create PDF from Scanner > Custom Scan..?
    Thanks

  • Aperture 2 won't recognize Canon G10 CR2 RAW files

The Canon G10 just came out and I got one!! But Aperture will not recognize the CR2 files that it makes. Any idea how to make this work?

If you can get your hands on a copy of Canon's Digital Photo Professional it may include the proper converters that you can use for now.
For EOS utility to run the camera must be connected and running and I'm not sure the P&S cameras are recognized by that utility.
I'm having trouble with G9 CR2 files on Aperture 2.1.2. When I import them they come in at 1:1 aspect ration meaning the preview is forced to fill the preview screen so all images look a little wide and verticals look really, really stretched out.
When I go in and selected Apple -- Camera Default in the adjustments palettes it pops into the proper 4:3 ratio.
Any way to get that as the default? I've tried selected all and hitting the Camera Default but only one image at a time is updated. Driving me crazy

  • Bridge won't update past 6.01 and won't recognize Canon 6d

I purchased a canon 6d and it was not recognized by Bridge 5.
I signed up for CC two days ago.  I had all programs updated yet Bridge still does not recognize camera.  The version of Bridge still shows as 6.01.  I am getting frustrated.
    Please help/

Check Photoshop / about Plug ins / Camera Raw
inhere it should show one version of ACR and at least 7.3 (but when updated possibly 8.2) because 7.3 is the first version to support your camera.
Bridge is at version 6.0.1 at this moment so also check PS updates for having the correct ACR plug in active.
But there seems something else bothering you because ACR 7.3 is already available in CS6 that has Bridge version 5. This combination should also be able to provide you the correct previews.
Like Curt stated, can you provide more details about your computer (RAM, VRAM, total- and free disk space) OS system version and how do you try to view the files (card reader, cable to camera)
