Acrobat 9 standard wont transfer to another computer

Hello, I tried to transfer my Acrobat 9 Standard software to another computer and it failed. I deactivated the current install, went to the new computer and couldn't activate my copy. It says I have an invalid serial number.
Any advice would be awesome! I don't want to have to buy Acrobat XI--****'s expensive.

Was your AA9 and upgrade or the full version. If an upgrade, it may be that you are being asked for the qualifying product S/N, not the XI S/N.

Do image files adjusted in Lightroom transfer to another computer if you need to reload the files?

I'm used to making adjustments in Camera RAW and copying the image files for use on multiple workstations. In this case, my adjustments go with the image file. If I make my adjustments using Lightroom and move the image files to another computer will I lose those adjustments? I wonder if I invest all my adjustment time using Lightroom and my computer crashes will I lose those adjustments even though I am backing up my files to an external drive.

Yes, you will loose them unless you save to xmp. You save to xmp by either pressing Ctrl / Cmd + letter "S" or
a) in the Library Module you go >Metadata >Save Metadata to File, or
b) in the Develop Module you go >Photo >Save metadata to file.
Without <Saving metadata to file> Lr writes the edits into the catalog only. And, if you transfer images without the catalog to another computer your edits will be lost on the second computer.
By <Saving metadata to file> a xmp sidecar file will be created that stores the edits. In case of a DNG the edits are not written into Xmp but into the file header - same effect.
Note though that not everything can be stored in xmp-files. For instance collections, stacking are stored in the catalog only.
This is presumably so because the save to xmp was created in order that Lr adjustment can be viewed in other Adobe products (for instance in Bridge). Naturally, only those "features" need to be written into xmp that the other program can display.

Please direct me as to how to install acrobat standard on mac computer. I had trial basis and now my computer is all fouled up and message received that must be installed on windows computer. How do I handle this dilemma.

If you have Acrobat Standard, it is Windows software. You cannot install Windows software on your Mac.
If it was purchased, get a refund.
If it was bundled, then you just can't use it.

Acrobat versions prior to 9 had a bug which allowed you to do what you did. In Acrobat 9 this bug was fixed. In order to do what you want you need to certify (apply special certification digital signature with your certificate -- it is "Certify (Visible/Invisible)" choice in the "Work with Certificates") your document first. In the process of certification you can specify which modification permissions you allow the users of your document to make after signing. Certification signature must be the first signature in the document.

I don't think you can 'transfer' applications in MS Windows. The reason being, the Windows Registry. Each one is unique to a machine, and you can't just copy a Registry from one to another. I think you'll have to reinstall the applications, and then copy any 'data' you may have from one system to the other.

I take my Ipod to work to listen to. I have never had a problem doing this but I have since uploaded new songs and not it wont play. When I plug the ipod in then it shows all the songs but they are grey (writing) and i am unable to select any of them or play any of them, any suggestions of why this is now happening when it didnt before!?

Grey text when you look at the content and lock symbol at the bottom of the screen simply shows that your iPod is set to syncronise (automatically update) with iTunes. If you want to access your iPod directly, drag songs to it, play it through your iTunes, connect it to a second computer etc. you just need to change the update method to "Manually manage songs and videos" in the iPod Summary tab and click Apply. The text will change from grey to dark and the padlock will disappear:

One thing to be aware of with manually updating is that it also enables disk use by default and the iPod has to be manually ejected before the "Do Not Disconnect" message will go away. Safely disconnect iPod

After croping a photo I sometimes cannot drag the photo to a SD chip or usb storage disk for transfer to another computer.

some photo file that are edited (croped etc) are rejected when I attempt to drag into a SD chip or usb stick. the icon show a / instead of the + and does not allow the transfer of the file. any idea why some files after editing are rejected for transfer to a S/D chip.

And what does happen?
Have you selected one of the problem photos and right clicked and said to show file and see what you get?
What else have you tried?

LR 5 catalouge transfer to another computer

I have been doing work on my laptop with LR5 and now I want to transfer the file to my desktop LR5 but make sure everything goes along that i have done. Can you tell me how to do this correctly?

Ms Paige I want to thank you for your response but I want to make sure your understand my questions before I move on.
I currently have LR5 on both my laptop which I use when I travel and desktop which I normally use for most of my work with storage to external drives.
Recently I was on a trip and not only downloaded my photos from the trip to my laptop but actually did all of the adjustments on that laptop and it is now in my catalogue on the laptop. I want to now move that trip file to my desktop catalogue with all of the changes I have made while still keeping the LR on my laptop. Will the instructions you have provided assure that I will be able to make the transfers without any problems to those files?

Place the iPod in recovery mode and restore via iTunes on any computer.. For recovery mode see:

You will have to restore to factory defaults/new iPod since you not lnger have the old computer.

You make a backup of those two files and if you want to restore the passwords then you place those two files a a Firefox profile folder.
