Acrobat 9 windows 7 adobe toolbar missing

New Dell, Windows 7 nothing special or tricky, installed Adobe Acrobat 9
pro and no toolbar appears in IE8. It's not in the manage add on files, and inside Adobe all I can see is
notation that it's not loaded but is in the program. always worked before in XP and Vista, any ideas anyone?
TIA, Jim

Understood but there is no toolbar in IE8, whereas before in vista and XP I always had the Adobe toolbar to use. It simply isn't there, and I don't know how to reinstall it. A 'repair' did nothing. all references assume the install creates the toolbar for IE8 or whatever. I can create a pdf per page but again, the toolbar was key to capturing the entire page.
Hope this is a better explanaiton. Jim

  • Acrobat 8 std toolbar missing in Windows Exlporer

Until recently I used to have a toolbar within a Windows explorer window that enable me to convert a file to PDF without even needing to open the file. If I open a Widows explorer window, click 'View' from the main menu and navigate to the 'Toolbars' drop down I can see the Acrobat PDF entry but if a click on it to activate it nothing happens. If I return to the Toolbars menu the Acrobat PDF toolbar still remains but there is no tick alongside it. Has anyone got any suggestions as to how this can be resolved? I have attempted to re-install the program but doesn't make any difference. Many thanks John.

Try updating to 8.1.2 first. If that fails, try repairing the Acrobat installation from the Help menu in Acrobat.

  • Acrobat X Pro toolbar missing in Internet Explorer 9 / IE9

I just installed adobe Acrobat X Pro on a Windows Server 2008 R2. Everything seems to have installed fine and is working EXCEPT that the Acrobat toolbar is not being displayed in Internet Explorer (IE9). If I check under 'Manage Add-ons' the toolbar is displayed there as being incorporated and enabled... but it is not displayed or listed under 'View/Toolbars'.
Can anyone tell me how to get it to display??

In Adobe acrobat pro, go to the Edit/Preferences menu and select the internet menu and make sure the Display PDF in browser item is checked.
Click the Internet settings button and go to the advanced tab and make sure the Enable third-party browser extensions is checked.
THen open the 32 bit version of IE9.

  • On closing Acrobat Windows detect an error "Data Execution Prevention has closed Adobe Acrobat".

    Hi,
I developed a plugin which captures Before/After open, close and save events and perform some operation inside these events.
I tested the plugin in Windows XP and Acrobat 9.0.0 and 10.0.0 and everything works fine. But when in test my plugin on Windows Server 2008 Standard 32 bits, then windows detect an error while closing the acrobat and shows the following message:
"Data Execution Prevention has closed Adobe Acrobat"
I am using Acrobat 10.0.0 for testing in Windows Server 2008 operating system. Also, debugging the program shows no error but plugin does not produce the desired result when tested on Windows Server 2008 Standard 32 bits operating system.
Can anyone please giude me how to resolve this issue??
    Thanks in advance!

Are you really using 10.0.0?  You've installed no updates to it??

  • 4.01 is a disaster; cant open tools/addons; wont restart in safe mode, toolbars missing when opening or moving to a new window.

Subject line covers most of the question. Version 4.0 worked fine. I've uninstalled and reinstalled 4.01. No change. Tools, Addons doesnt reveal addons. New window opens with some toolbars missing and a blank page.
Using tabmix plus; maybe that's an issue? Using Default theme. But these were fine in 4.0
How can I revert to version 4.0? or the last release of 3?

I had this problem as well - it was caused by a complex session with multiple tab groups, some of which needed authentication. I made a copy of my Profile and then deleted the session files, and Firefox came right up.

  • Windows 7 Toolbar displays generic icon, not Acrobat icon

I hve used Acrobat forever. However, recently, the Windows 7 toolbar has been displaying only a generic icon, not the Acrobat icon, when the program is open. I have not discovered yet how to change the icon in windows 7 (Microsoft always tries to keep such things secret because they are control freaks).

How is the SD card formatted?
Maybe it needs to be in a format that the windows machine will understand, like FAT32.

    Hi slobberdog,
Please check out this post regarding the same issue in Acrobat 8. The solution applies to Acrobat 9 as well: How do I restore the PDF menu bar (File-Edit-View)?

  • Open a pdf via vba in existing acrobat window

    Hi,
Part of my MSAccess 2007 management application manages document.
By clicking on a document record it would open it using either OLE or DDE depending on the adobe version installed (full or only reader).
I have an unsolved problem with the OLE code.
Opening documents with AVDOC.Open works fine but will always open a new instance (new window) of adobe acrobat even if adobe acrobat is already active and open without document.
Weird as if you click on a pdf in explorer for instance it would open it it the existing window.
If I try to open it using creating a new instance of AcroExch.AVDOC and AVDOC.OpenInWindowEx the avdoc is populated with the file as AVDOC.Gettitle returns the title and AVDOC.IsValid returns true but the document does not show up in the existing adobe acrobat window.
    What am I missing ?
Reason why I want to implement it is as working with two screens I want to have the adobe document on the second screen while working with the application on one screen. By using AVDOC.Open I always need to drag the new opened window to the other screen although there is an instance (window) of adobe acrobat open on the desktop without documents in it (I test it as it is obviously a correct behavior if there would be an open document in it).
    thks in advance for advise.
    Andre

    Hi,
You know I have to thank you for the solution as by asking your question you provided me with a way to solve my problem .....
As double clicking a pdf file when the application is open with no open document works as I want it to (i.e. showing the new document in the existing acrobat window), so I decided to try out a plain vanilla shell instruction in vba instead of the AVDOC.Open statement ... and ....although not very programmatically aesthetic ....  it works.

  • Adobe toolbar in Word

I use MS Word 2003 &, as of 2007, Acrobat 6.0.  When I installed Acrobat, it appeared to install an Acrobat toolbar into Word that would appear just above the ruler at the top of the document.  From time to time, this toolbar would disappear.  Someone told me that Word updates tended to disable this toolbar, making it disappear, but that I could go to Help/ About Word & click "Disabled Items ...", and the toolbar would be in the collection of disabled items and I could enable it.  This actually worked a few times.
Now that I've upgraded to Acrobat 9, the toolbar has disappeared & no longer appears in the disabled item list.  In its place, there are 2 buttons at the right end of the upper Word toolbar named Adobe PDF & Adobe comments.  They appear to do the same conversion operation as could be done from the Adobe toolbar that is now missing, but it takes a whole lot more time.
Have any of you encountered this problem and figured out a way to get the toolbar back?  I find it preferable.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi nicolas_78,
Acrobat 11 is compatible with Office 2013. Please let me know what version of Acrobat you are using.

  • Where is the 'Search Acrobat Windows Forum' button?

I've largely dropped out of this forum since it changed format (no particular reason, I can see the improvements, but it just seemed to take a bit more time to review and do things), so maybe I'm being dense with my subject line?  The first thing I usually want to do when I enter a forum is search for a topic that may answer my question already, but all I see are options to search Adobe globally (no thanks) or all forums (no, I'm in the Acrobat forum because I have an Acrobat question).  Once I've returned a list that uselessly includes all forums I get a new Search bar and a dropdown list of Adobe applications, so then I can narrow it down, but I've already used my daily allocation of mouse clicks and am losing interest. Am I missing something?

    Bon dias,
You are at "top" of Acrobat Windows Forum.
Enter a string in the Search field.
Click the button at the right.
    Wait a moment.
Search returns are presented from all Forums.
Click "More options" (under Search for: <you query string>
    Observe the "Where" List.
Select Acrobat Windows (nested under Acrobat) - this is the third line item from the top.
If desired - provide a "When" &/or a "Who" filter.
    Click the Search button again.
Search Results are listed for your query string from the Acrobat Windows Forum.
Retain the list by opening a new Tab in your browser when viewing a result.
Review the Search Tips to learn more about what is available with this particular search engine.
While search engines share many features in common, often they do no process the feature exactly the same.
In sum - rather adequate search of specific forums is available.
We might natter about the user interface but for most queries, the forum search is adequate.
    Be well...

  • Adobe toolbar in Office 2007 not appearing

I'm having a problem in which the Adobe toolbar is not appearing in our Office 2007 applications.  I have Acrobat 8 installed.  I've already followed all the steps in the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdfmaker-unavailable-office-2007-acrobat.html
The "Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Addin" is listed as an active add-in, but the toolbar is not displayed.  Are there any other steps to try outside of that above article?  I've ran repairs on Office & Adobe Acrobat, re-registered the add-in, re-installed Adobe Acrobat... none on this has resolved my issues.

Yes, there is a way. It is described in http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/329307.html .

  • Delete scriptcode - General question: capacity limit of Acrobat Windows

    Hello everybody,
I've got a general question to the capacity limit of Acrobat Windows.
    I often make forms with
for instance the current one has 18 pages. Eleven pages have fields on it. (But some pages have only one field on it) The fields of one page to another are sometimes linked with script code. The file needs nearly 1 MB.
Usual I write the script code by a double-click on the field/ calculate/ custom calculation script. (Is this the right way?) Today it happens again that a field with script code lost the script code.
That's why I wonder whether there is a capacity limit of Acrobat Windows or whether I make mistakes. (This is only one instance of several where the form has his own life.)
Thanks in advance for helping me!
