Acrobat 9pro install

Hello,
I have my Acrobat Pro 9 disk and recently reinstalled to my laptop. When starting acrobat pro, just the word Acrobat comes up on top of the Mac, nothing else happens. When i try to open a document with the open with command, same thing happens. Any ideas? I tried reinstalling again, same results. Thank you, Bill

  • Error Message on Web Premium Suite while opening Acrobat that Adobe Acrobat was installed as part of a Suite

Can not open Acrobat Pro 9 out of my adobe creative suite 4 web premium.  Keeps giving an error message. Adobe Acrobat was installed as part of a suite.  To enable Adobe Acrobat start another component of this suite.  I am running Windows 7 64 and already have the CS6 Premium Production Suite loaded on my computer.  I really don't need to load all of the Web Premium since I have upgraded to CS6 programs but still need the Acrobat.  My hard drive crashed and I've had to start all over again.  This is the only glitch and it's becoming very frustrating.
Can't find a link to actually speak to someone at Adobe.

you'll need to install and open some other 32 bit cs4 app.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 installed but cannot read any PDF file from a Browser window

I have a new(-ish) PC running Vista and had Adobe Acrobat v9 installed.  However I cannot open PDF files when trying to view from a Browser on a web site.  IE8, Firefox and Chrome all produce the same error that claims I need to install Adobe 8 or 9.  Have searched "Manage add-ons" and found Adobe enabled.  Have hunted around but cannot seem to find a way to fix this.  Any ideas?  This seems so fundamental that it is difficult to believe that (a) it happened in the first place and (b) that there is not an obvious way to fix it!

Are you on a PC with a profile setup?
    Assuming you are,
Rename your profile to something like PROFILE.OLD and then relog into the PC.  If the PDF's open without issue, you can remove the Abode folders in the old profile under Documents and Settings\%profile%\Application Data and Local Settings\Application Data.
Rename the new profile to yet something else like PROFILE.NEWOLD.   Then rename your PROFILE.OLD to its original name.  Confirm that you have removed the above folders from this existing profile.   Perform MIGWIZ I.E. Export files and settings to a folder. Now rename the profiles so that the .NEWOLD is the active profile and run migwiz there - bringing in your old settings.  These steps are only needed if you wish to preserve all the data and settings from your old profile.
    Hope this helps!

  • Cannot get Acrobat to install, Adobe Application Manager is not working!?

How do I get Acrobat to install properly? Each time I try, I get the Adobe Application Manager:
cannot select anything in the upper drop down. and if I click accept….nothing happens!

    Hi Shotgun981,
Adding to what Jeff & Sheena shared, have you got any other product installed on this machine? Is that working fine ? Can you please navigate to the below mentioned location and advice if that worked for you or not.
    Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLStore
Rename the above mentioned folder to SLStore_old and try and launch Acrobat . If this doesn't work , please make sure that we have full permissions on the folder mentioned in the kb article. (Note: this Kb article is only for sharing the location and the actual problem is not described in it)

  • Acrobat 9pro won't print to PDF

I am using Acrobat 9pro on my Windows XP x64 computer.  When I use Acrobat and try to print to PDF I get the error messages "The document could not be printed." and "There were no pages selected to print."  I can, however, print to PDF from other applications such as Word.  This problem started suddenly a few months ago after having used the application fine for a year or two.  The technical support person told me they wouldn't help me unless I paid $35 to upgrade to Acrobat 10!  I'm at a loss.

I'm having this problem too. Acrobat 9.5.3 running on Win 7 x64. After updating Reader form X to XI, Acrobat stopped printing .
I've tried everything: repairing installation, complete installation, removing all the package, removing reader and acrobat, update printers driver, reinstall printers... nothing worked.
Now the only way I have to print is using Reader, that works properly.
This are the dialog boxes coming up: "Document can't be printed" "There were no selected pages to print". I can't have access to the printer setup window too, I guess this is connected to the same issue.
    Thank you for your help

  • Open pdf doc with reader 9 when acrobat 8 installed

    Hello,
I created a form with acrobat 9 and distributed it.
It appears that on a windows xp computer that already has acrobat 8 installed, it is impossible to open the form with reader 9, (after installing it, of course...).
Then, I'd rather create an excel file...
Please, all suggestions to solve that issue very quickly are welcome.
    Thx++

  • Acrobat 9 installed, now unable to scan in Photoshop

    Hi,
I've been using Acrobat 9 Pro for a couple of days and with a couple of exceptions, it's been working fine. I can create a PDF from the scanner, a file, web pages, etc. But I just launched Photoshop CS4 to scan something from that application, and I'm having trouble with the Twain driver. It had worked fine before installing Acrobat.
I'm able to scan, but once the image is in Photoshop, everything under the headings in the menu is grayed out and I can't do anything. When I close out of that (through Ctr-Alt-Del) there's a message that Photoshop is not responding. Sometimes when relaunching Photoshop I get an error message about the Twain driver (not able to find, I think).
Has anyone else had this problem? Have any suggestions?
I really needed to be able to scan from Photoshop today.
    Thanks.

Thanks. I didn't have any problems until Acrobat was installed. I'll try reinstalling the scanner software first.
    A few minutes later...
I started closing out of applications to begin the process of uninstalling when I discovered the problem. The scanner software was remaining open after the scan, but it was behind the Photoshop window and I didn't realize it. That's why everything in Photoshop was grayed out and I couldn't do anything. Sorry.

There is a help document from adobe regarding Exit code 6 and Error: DW050
Here are the links for those documents : (These documents are for CS5, CS5.5 and applicable to CS6 also)
    https://help-internal.adobe.com/content/help/en/creative-suite/kb/errors-exit-code-6-exit. html
    https://help-internal.adobe.com/content/help/en/creative-suite/kb/installation-error-dw050 -dw020-cs5.html
If all other applications are running fine, than try the Acrobat cleaner tool to remove any leftover files from this link( http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html ) and than try to Install Acrobat XI Pro on your computer.

  • Acrobat Reader installed detection via JavaScript

I am curious whether or not Adobe plans on using AcroPDF.PDF.1 as an indicator of the most current version of Adobe Reader (for activeXObjects in Internet Explorer). I know that this will work for detecting whether Reader 7 is installed but now that I think about it, when Reader 8 comes out, if a user already has Reader 7 installed, obviously AcroPDF.PDF.1 will be defined in their registry so eval("new ActiveXObject('AcroPDF.PDF.1')") will return true. Does anyone know, Adobe specifically, how the next version of Reader will be classified in the ActiveX list (or registry key). Will it be AcroPDF.PDF.2?
The reason why I am asking is because I need to detect whether or not our clients have the latest version of Acrobat Reader installed for printing documents from our site. I apologize in advance if the following code looks really messy. This is my first post and I just pasted my code directly into the textarea box. Here's what my detection code looks like and works fine for now (but when Reader 8 comes out....hmmmm):
    if(window.ActiveXObject) { // Internet Explorer  var tryReader7 = true;  for (var iVer = 20; iVer >= 0; iVer--) {   try {    if(tryReader7) {     /*********************************************      Check to see if Reader 7 is installed first.     TRUE: Break out of loop     FALSE: Set flag to false so that this check       isn't executed each pass through       by the loop     *********************************************/     tryReader7   = false; // We only want to check ONCE          var Reader7Exists = eval("new ActiveXObject('AcroPDF.PDF.1'); ");     if(Reader7Exists) {      // User met Adobe Reader Version Requirements      oReader.installed = "True";      oReader.version  = max_ReaderVerReq +".0";      oReader.message  = aMessageStatus[4]; //"Adobe® Reader® installed"      oReader.needsUpdate = 0;      break;      }    }        var ReaderExists  = eval("new ActiveXObject('PDF.PdfCtrl." +iVer+ "'); ");    if(ReaderExists) {     // User met Adobe Reader Existence Requirements     oReader.installed = "True";     oReader.version  = iVer + ".0";     oReader.message  = aMessageStatus[4]; //"Adobe® Reader® installed"     break;     }   } catch(e) { // (minimum|maximum) version not detected    oReader.message  = aMessageStatus[7]; //"You do not have the latest Adobe® Reader® installed or enabled.   }   }

I am trying with Reader 9.
I am not trying to print from the server. The printing will happen on the client computers that is why I am trying to print using javascript from an html page. My clients do have different versions of Reader from 6 to latest
Is there any way to achieve it with out installing anything else on the computers?
    Thanks,
