Acrobat application error after 8.2.2 patch

I pushed out the Acrobat 8.2.2 patch this week to our users and have gotten a handful of people respond that they're getting an error when they're launching Acrobat afterwards.
Background:
Workstations were running Acrobat 8.2.0 before the patch and all patched previously (from at least 8.1.6) without any issues. Adobe Reader is not installed on these systems.
Workstations are all running Windows XP SP3.
Problem:
User gets a warning message when launching Acrobat that reads "A serious error has been detected and Adobe Acrobat 8.1.2 Professional cannot continue.  Please reinstall the application and try again."  When the click the OK button on that dialog they are then prompted with an Application Error dialog for Acrobat.exe "The instruction at '0x05bb1243' referenced memory at '0x03db9bec'. The memory could not be 'written'"
Workaround:
A simple reboot resolves the issue sometimes, other times a repair is needed and others need to be reinstalled.
Anyone got any ideas why these errors are occurring and what I should be looking out for so that this doesn't repeat in the future?

Just noticed this post was a bit old......My version with the same issue was 8.2.6.
This seems to be a recurring issue if you seach the forums.
I was able to fix mine with a repair instead of an uninstall reinstall.
I accessed the repair option via the control panel ----->add/remove software----->adobe acrobat pro

    You can ignore these error messages,these come when u upgrade the kernel to 246 or 247

  • Application error after installing NW 7.01 Trial version

    Hello all together,
    i have used the search to find threads with the same issue but there was non thats fits really to my issue.
    I have installed the NW 7.01 on a virtual maschine with windows Xp sp2. as I did it before several times.
    the installation finished without any problems. then I try to start the applicationserver but a windows popup occurs thats shows the following error "disp+work.exe  Application error
    the instruction at 0x0042d04a references memory at 0x00001724 the memory could  not be written
    then I have the possibility to terminate the problem by clicking OK or ok to debug the program.
    I have cleaned the registry with the RegistryClean.cmd an deleted everthing and installed the NW 7.01 again. but the same issue occured again.
    can somebody help me with this issue.

    Uninstall minisap installation. Than change computer name lower than 13 chars. My suggestion a simpler name like "minisap" .In most cases Microsoft gives complex computer name like yunus-ax8323akdm . With minisap installation your computer name is host name like PROD QA.After change computer name restart setup and re-install. You will see everything is ok. Sometime you have to start manually database from SAP MMC (console)

    Just installed Acrobat 8 Pro with LiveCycle Designer 8.0
    version 8.05.2073.1.374024
    I've constructed a simple one-page form. It has some text fields, some check boxes, one drop-down list, and three Date/Time fields.
    When I go to the Preview PDF tab, everything goes fine until I try either the Drop-down List or one of the Date/Time fields. Then, I get a Windows error message:
    Adobe Acrobat: Acrobat.exe - Application Error
    The instruction at "0x2981d30b" referenced memory at "0x00008006". The memory could not be read.
    Interestingly, if I publish the form and open it in Acrobat, and then try to set the Reader rights so that users can save the filled-in form, I get the same crash and error message.
    Background:
    OS: Windows XP Pro
    The installer file I downloaded from the Adobe LWS site would not run. Our corporate IT provided an installer that did.
    Conclusion: Help? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Dave, I have a similar problem and cannot find a solution. I have noticed nobody seems to want to answer this issue, althoiugh it's in many forums.
    Have you found a solution? Do you care to share?
    One of the errors was related to my Office XP shared service (the user input text and speech extensions). I have turned that off.
    The specific messages are:
    "FormDesigner.exe - Application Error", "The instruction at '0x00XXXXXX' referenced memory at '0x00XXXXXX'. The memory could not be 'read'. Click on OK to terminate the program Click on Cancel to debug the program."

    Would you please provide more information about your OS and graphics card. Did you install the latest graphics driver for your graphics card?

    It's a Windows error and you could search the Microsoft knowlege base for details of registry conflicts unless Elements is otherwise working OK.

    Hi Kuba,
    Do you mean that you changed OAS to use JDK 1.6? I'm pretty sure this wouldn't be supported. If you mean that you used JDK 1.6 to compile the project and then deploy to OAS, I'm pretty sure this wouldn't be supported, either. If you just changed JDeveloper to use JDK 1.6 to run JDev (although for sure this isn't supported), and the project still is targetted to JDK 1.5, this should work. I've had a few sporadic problems in this configuration, though, so I cannot recommend it.

    I have been using C3 from past 2 months I recently updated phone software to the latest version 7.2. To my surprise none of my Games which used to work earlier work anymore. I get the following error:

    What do I do to get this work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the games also looked for update which says I have the latest version. I have 8GB microsd in the phone

    The same happened to my C3-00. The applications did not work after the updated to 7.20. Restoring a previous backup did not help, the same errors remained.
    I ended up deleting and re-downloading the apps from OVI store (and losing the apps not available from there). The re-downloaded apps worked correctly.
    I can only guess that the problem is related to
    - changes in application metadata stored by the OS
    - changes in data stored by the application (recordStore?).

  • Unable to associate PDF files to Acrobat Standard 7 after latest reader 9 patch

    I am unable to
    make PDF files open as Acrobat standard 7 as my default PDF viewer. I have tried to right click open with, more, browse to acrobat standard 7 folder, coose acrobat program, then open. The acorbat standard 7 program never gets listed in the other programs list. I have also deleted the pdf file type extension and browsed over to Acrobat standard 7 folder and chose program and it still opens in Reader 9.  The one bright sopt in all this is I still have the right click open with Acrobat Standard 7 listed.
    My users want to just open PDF attachments from outlook without having to save the PDF's first to thier hard drive, open with acrobat standard 7, then save them again, then reattach to to email and foward on with approval stamp. This is on at least 2 machines, an Xp and Vista machine.

    OK Here is my fix.
    I reran the Acrobat Standard 7 install from control panel and chose to "Repair" the installation. After rebooting I could just double click on a PDF and it opens up in Acrobat Standard 7.

  • Help ! Error after install Oracle Database patch 9.2.0.5 on AIX

    My database version on AIX server is 9.2.0.1, and I installed the 9.2.0.5 patch to update it .
         But when i run the catpatch.sql, the out of process memory exception always occured even if i change the java_pool_size and share_pool_size both to 200M in init.ora file.
         and when i run bi_checkconfig.sh to check weither the olap can be used, I got these errors:

    Why don't you (or your system administrator) simply do,what the message recommands?
    The root user should execute '/usr/sbin/slibclean' You cannot remove the message itself. Run 'slibclean' and answer 'Y'. Unfortunately on the AIX platform it interrupts a silent installation.

    i will check all the class files and xml files of Application Module below top, all are there in the server top(below top)

    is there any different structure in R12.
    i.ein the server top /u02/TST22/apps/apps_st/comn/java/classes/xxfls (Here my all class files in Binary mode and xml files in ASCII mode)
    only CLASS files are needed or XML files are also need.(i am moving all CLASS and XML files)

    This issue usually occurs when the AM.class file is not available at the given location. Try to find out on the server whether this
    tflsm.oracle.apps.po.per.server.TflsmAM exists.
    If still the problem persists then go for redeployement by deleting the existing one.

    I don't use Windows myself but from what I've seen on these boards, this kind of thing can be caused by an antivirus getting in the way.

  • Acrobat 8.1 Pro Error AcrobatInfo.exe - Application Error

    Ever since updating to Acrobat Pro 8.1, I keep getting an error message.
    Font Capture: AcrobatInfo.exe - Application Error
    The Instruction at "0x03da593c". The memory could not be written.
    The error pops up several minutes after closing Acrobat. I wonder if it is from a .pdf from across the network.
    Doesn't cause a crash but it is getting annoying.

    All I could find was the REG file that was included on that link's site. If you want to trust this, just copy the text between the ======== and save as a .REG file, then execute the file. I am taking no responsibility for this file or what it may (or may not) do to your computer. It is simply the REG file I got from that site. It's up to you whether you use it or not.
    It's been so long now since I used Jochen's method that I can't remember for sure, but I believe I also tracked down the "AcrobatInfo.exe" file and deleted it (probably while in safe mode).
