Acrobat Causes Crash when Print is Canceled
When I hit "Cancel" after the "Save PDF File As" screen appears, my PC hangs. The task manager shows 100% CPU usage. The process that is using up the CPU resource is dumprep.exe. I'm using Acrobat 9.3.2, XP SP3.
I tried "everthing" to fix this, but in the end it was simple.
Delete all printer drivers, except the one you actually need (one of them must have been causing the problem!), add back the others if required.

Adobe Acrobat 8 crashes when printing!
My client has been experiencing this problem before and a reimage of the computer was needed to keep it from coming back up. It recently came back. I know there has to be an easier way than a complete reroll of the system. She is the only one in the company that gets this error, and there are at least a hundred of Adobe Acrobat 8 users here.
When you open a pdf file (local or shared)and you print it using Acrobat 8.1, the printer (HP Laserjet 2015p with updated drivers) runs and prints the document, but unfortunately a "Windows debug/don't send/send error" bug pops up with the filename being acrobat.exe. When I click don't send, a memory error shows up right after and when I click OK, Acrobat closes. This happens consistently. When there are 3 or more pages and the error pops up, it only prints the first 2 before stopping. It seems to also occur if you click cancel instead of print from the print properties windows. Since that also occurs, it leads me to believe that it is the program and/or system that is causing the issue, since it could be any printer chosen before printing or cancelling the window.
I've uninstalled the printers and restarted, then uninstalled Acrobat and restarted. Deleted the necessary folders (adobe and flexnet in All Users and the adobe folder in program files). Then I reinstalled acrobat first, and reinstalled the printers after a prompted restart. The error still occurs.
The OS is Windows XP SP2. The client logs in under our company domain as a user, so it is not a local profile being used. I briefly tested the Administrator account with one of the user's pdfs. No error occured as of yet, so it kind of makes me believe that if I were to delete the profile under documents and settings, and make her log back in, the issue may be fixed and labeled as a user account error. Has anyone run into this problem and found a solution? Of course all help is greatly appreciated. The messages I've seen had to do with "slow operation" not "crashing" but you mention a domain login... so this may help
Set the DEFAULT printer to a local, not network, printer... even if you have to define a "dummy" printer
There is evidently a bug in Acrobat when a network printer is the default... so may be worth a try to see if it fixes your problem -
Acrobat XI crashes when printing, even Reader crashes when printing.
Tried:
Reboot, reinstall, clean and reinstall. Tried calling help desk. Tried updating, tried repair option. Tried windows different compability settings.
Have windows 8.1 And the acrobat pro XI and the reader keeps crashing on printing. It is not just that it doesn't print. The program crashes and windows shuts it down.
It also crashes if I try to open the settings menu.Hi rogga,
Thank you for posting on the Adobe Forums, is the behaviour specific to a file or a set of files, or it crashes with all the files?
Also, you can try creating a new file by printing to Adobe Pdf printer and see if it crashes.
If it still crashes, you can go to event viewer and get the logs for further assistance or you can try running your system in diagnostic mode to check, if it is related to third party service running in the background.
Thanks,

After updateting to 9.3 specific files causing crash when print starts
After updating to 9.3 some files, not all, are no more possible to print without crashing acrobat.
One example you can find here:
http//europe/giga-byte.com/FileList/Manual/motherboard_manual_ga_ep45_ds3(r)_de.pdf
Error:
arobat.exe 9.3.0.148 with modul ssgs1.dll version 03.0.0 at address 0x00012ea9
(ssgs1 belongs to Samsung printer ML1210)
With 9.2, one week ago, there was no problem.
If I start printing the copmplete file(a couple of pages) the printer starts printing and prints the whole file, but after a couple of seconds acrobat crashes.
Theb print will NOT be stopped, the file will be printed cpompletly with ALL pages.
If I try to print separate and single pages, the FIRST page can be printed without crash.
Any other page will crash acrobat immediatly.
I sepate this error page (take out 1 page) to get a separate pdf file will cause the same problem.
If I copy this page to Word and then save from there as pdf - no error.
Print "as picture" also no problem.
Export to pdf/A (whatever this is) will cause the same problem
Save as ...pdf - same problem
Save as optimized -same problem
Software: "Advanced pdf Repair" will not repair this
This problem was not be be seen with elder version 9.2 last week
This does not happen with ALL pdf files
System: XP SP3
Action taken:
Repair acrobat
Reinstall printer driverI had to rebuild the thumbnails after the first try, and so on the second try, it cleared up the distortion. However, the photos then had the rotation and out of sequence issue. I certainly can try again. You previously mentioned that it make a few times.
As for the view, they are sorted by date. It is really strange since it is only the photos at the very beginining. These are photos where I had to manually enter the date when adding them to the libary. I wonder if that has anything to do with.
I really appreciate your time and advice. This is pretty unusual for me. I have been using macs since 2004 and never has a software upgrade thrown me for such a loop.
Thanks again. -

Screenshots to Pages doc causes crash when printing
I'm creating a document on Pages that has several screenshots on the document (creating a user manual). When I try to print the document, Pages crashes and it will not print. I removed the screenshots and was able to print. I deleted the original screenshots and created new ones with same issue. It places them in my print queue on hold, but when I tell it to resume it just deletes it out of the queue.
Outside of telling me not to use screenshots, does anyone know a fix for this?
I'm using Pages '09, version 4.1.Are they straight (plain) screenshots?
In what file format?
Have you put any special effects on them, such as shadows, reflections, frames, transparency?
How many screen shots, and how many per page?
Have you tried printing just one page with one screen shot on its own? If so what happened?
As fruhulda says, what printer? …and do you have the necessary printer driver installed?

Long files hierarchy causes autocad to crash when printing to a pdf
Long files hierarchy causes autocad to crash when printing to a pdf.
Tylerdowner,
Uninstalled and reinstalled Flash. No change. The only thing that seems to consistently resolve the problem is disabling the Flash plugin.
I tried creating a new profile, but when I transfer the data suggested in this:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox
I get an error window when opening firefox with the new profile ...something about security settings not working correctly...but I can print every time even though the Flash plugin appears to be installed and enabled. So I assume there is some kind of problem with my current profile. Any suggestions on how to find and correct it or a way to get most of my data into a new profile...that works...would be appreciated. -
Bad crash when printing to pdf in Morningstar software - is it a 64 bit problem?
Had bad crash when printing to pdf in Morningstar Principia Pro software - is it a 64 bit compatability problem? All other software I have can print
to Acrobat pdf, but in Morningstar the Window 7 PC freezes and not even Task manager can
unfreeze the computer. Acrobat worked fine in my old XP 32 bit PC when printing from Morningstar. Recently a webinar using
an Adobe webinar software I was told I must only use a 32 bit browser, so I suspect Acrobat is incompaitble with my new 64 bit PC. Work around solution is to print to Microsoft XPS and then convert to Acrobat but I want to use Acrobat only! Is there a patch for people using 64 bit PCs?
Can someone at Adobe respond to me, please? I have used Acrobat for over 10 years and am very loyal.Michael: I have tested other programs ability to print to Acrobat and also tested ability for other programs to
export to Excel or Word. The only crash is when printing an Acrobat pdf from Morningstar Principia Pro I get a bad crash. The work around is to print to XPS and then convert the XPS file to Acrobat pdf. To get out of the crash which can't be fixed by Windows Task Manager shut down, is to open the printer file and tell the printer to delete the pending print job.
I'm using latest Version 9.3.4 Standard Acrobat; Win 7 Pro 64 bit, 10 g of RAM, HPE 390t standalone PC, no networking. -

I've been using Macs since 1984. Have been using Xerox Phaser printers for ten years. But with the last update to OS 10.6.8 last summer, I've had problems with crashing when printing. My MacPro crashes when printing via ethernet prot with Xerox Phaser 6360DN or when the printer warms up. Worked fine with OS 10.6.7. Internet postings suggest this is a common problem for all Mac users with Xerox Phaser printers. Apple put out an update to 10.6.8 to address the problem. I downloaded it but it did not solve the problem. Have tried all the Xerox drivers along with Apple drivers. Can't solve the problem. Xerox says it's an Apple problem. Does anyone KNOW how to solve the problem?

Indesign CC 2014 crashes when printing to Fiery server
This is to remind Adobe that issues printing to Fiery print servers from Indesign CC 2014 (10.0 or 10.1) on Mac have not been resolved.
A patch has been provided here: InDesign & Illustrator | Crash while printing to Fiery RIP | MacOS --- however, the problem persists after patching. I should note that the fix at that link only pertains to Indesign 10.0. If you download Indesign 2014 from Creative Cloud you would, at this time, receive 10.1. That script will break 10.1 completely. There is no fix for 10.1.
The original thread for this discussion is here: Indesign CC 2014 crashes when printing It's marked 'Answered' and methinks the ongoing conversation there has been over-looked.
I am bumping this topic to keep the conversation fresh. If anyone else has found solutions to printing to Fiery from Indesign 10.x either by updating Fiery directly or with additional scripts or workarounds, please share them here.
I could publish one of my 10.1 crash logs if I could be advised which pieces are most important, or how to post the unabridged without spamming the forum.
That's the constructive bit. Here's my rant...
After speaking to Adobe on the phone, they tell me this isn't resolved yet because it affects only a small subset of people. I called some peers at other agencies across my region and learned they all use Indesign with Fiery servers. We are not an isolated few! (those fortunate individuals I spoke to are still using CS6 -- and I received some jovial ribbing for having my on-going CC subscription.) I have a lot of printing to do on the Fiery now that these projects are finishing, but i'm held up while down-saving these projects to be used in CC (9.x). Its frustrating, its time-consuming, and its simply unacceptable to CC subscribers as we move in to 2015. I urge Adobe to work with EFI to solve this problem once and for all. This is a user to user forum with "some" Adobe staff participation, report bugs at this link
