Acrobat DC installs "Send File" without asking

I updated Acrobat and had DC delete and replace Pro XI. It also installed a add-on in MS Outlook called Send File. It did not ask if this was OK.
Personally I don't like the look of the new program and since you can uninstall and go back a generation I did.
Adobe, if you want to be Dropbox or Hightail then make a stand-alone. And never modify another non-Adobe application without asking permission.

Nothing can stop people reusing your material. If it's really worth
anything, text can be retyped of course, and images can be rescanned,
or screen captured. You should certainly make this part of your
contract with end users if it is a concern.
If you are sending proofs, you can use a lower resolution, but if you
are sending a final copy you have few options. You can of course set
document security to block Acrobat (but not every program) from
copying text or even allowing printing.

You simply want to transfer data between to server-side components, if I understood you correctly.

Open file without asking

I've set pdf files to open with my default application (without asking).
Nerveless, FF keeps asking whether to save or open the file.
(The same happens with any file type, and also in safe mode and a new profile).
Any idea?

Photoshop Elements 12 saving over files without asking

Open a picture in Elements 12, on Mac, do a Save As, give it a name without an extension, and save. It will save the file and add a .jpg at the end. Then open a different file, do a Save As, give it the same name as you just saved the other file with, without an extension, and save. It will overwrite the existing file you saved first, without asking, and add .jpg to the name again. I have lost all kinds of files, and I dont know which ones, by PS Elements 12 saving over them without warning me! BUG!

Oh, and while you're in there delete:

There's a saved application states folder at the same level as the Preferences folder. Delete anything in there for PSE.

Beware: Preview deletes changed/unsaved file without asking

Since this happened to me twice now and I lost an hour of work, I'd like too share with you my bad experience with Preview.app
A nice feature of Preview is the ability to add annotations to any pdf-file. If you add an annotation (e.g. a comment or some text-highlighting) and the file is then "marked" as changed and unsaved (by the black dot within the red dot in the top-left conner of the corresponding window). If you now hit CMD+Backspace (for example if you want to delete a annotation which you added by accident by clicking somewhere in the pdf-file while the note-tool was still activated) the WHOLE pdf-file will be deleted (i.e. moved to the bin) and all the changes are gone (if not saved before hitting cmd+Backspace)! Sure, the pdf is in the bin and can easily be restored but all the unsafed annotations are for ever lost.
Although it might not be a bug of preview but it is a very counterintuitive behavior which can destroy (and in my case has destroyed) a significant amount of working time.

Actually, in general, it does. I just tried it in Mail and it deleted the entire highlighted email with the exception of having an active message composer window open and then, you are correct, it will only delete the previous typing.
I would assume that Preview is not presenting the "do you want to save..." window possibly because you are not adding/changing a document you created, but rather adding a note to a document that was created as or changed into a .pdf - in other words, it will not react like a word processing document because it isn't a word processing document.

File Upload and download without asking/specifing the path

Hi,
I have a requirement in which user must be able to edit the Abode offline form by clicking on edit link. On clicking the link document must open (either download to some temporary location) in new window and user must be able to edit & to save the changes and also user must be able to check in or upload the file without asking for the location (source location).
1. Is it possible to achive the similar functionality in WebDynpro ABAP?
Like we open a document by clicking a link and we do changes and save the file and user clicks a button Check In and the document (which we edited) is uploaded to the application?
If yes could you please provide some information.
2. Is it possible in WDA to download a file to a temporary location and open the file for user editing & saving and also provide a option in applicaiton to upload the file from this temporary directory?
-- In GUI frontend services we can find the temporary directory ... but is it possible to achive this functionality in WDA?
3. Using FileDownload UI Element, we have option to download a file (Inplace option) which will open the file in the page ..but is there any possibility to read the modified contents in the Webdynpro application?
I mean can we achive the check in functionality using this approach? If yes could you please provide some information.
Please suggest incase this functionality can be achived using some other methods

Sending files without zipping them first works for me.
What methods are you trying? There are several ways to send a file. In my testing with other iChat users, the most common technique to try first seems to be to drop a file into the text entry line in an iChat IM (text) window and then pressing the <<i>return> key. Occasionally that method fails.
When the text entry line method fails, try the methods recommended in your Mac's iChat > Help. I find that when dragging to the text input line fails, usually using the iChat > Buddies > Send File... method will not work either, but it does no harm to try.
When the menu command method fails, if you have an open video or audio chat window with the buddy to whom you want to send the file, you can drag the file and drop it in the open video or audio window. Note that iChat pauses AV transmission during file transfer to make the process faster.
Alternatively, try dragging the file and dropping it on the name in your Buddy List of the chat buddy to whom you want to send the file.

Also consider that the problem may be at the receiving end of the file transfer. Does the problem occur with everyone, or only with a few of your buddies. If file transfer fails only with some of your contacts, ask them to be certain that they are clicking on the files to receive them. If those few buddies receive no indication that you are attempting to transfer files, ask them if they can receive files from anybody. Perhaps the problem lies within their systems.

If none of those suggestions help you, consider possible issues within your system. Your system info shows that you are still using 10.4.7. Consider applying the 10.4.9 Combo Updater using the following method:- Backup your Home Folder, or at least, your important files.
- Repair permissions.
- Then download and apply the appropriate combo updater for your Mac:
Mac OS X 10.4.9 Combo Update (iNtel) or
Mac OS X 10.4.9 Combo Update (PPC)
- Finish with another Permissions Repair, and then try sending a file again.Users have reported fixes to a variety of audio, video, connectivity, and software conflicts and unreliability issues after properly applying Combo Updates.

If your Mac checks out, your internet connection may be causing problems.
Do you have anything other than your computer (for example, VOIP, game, etc., that use the internet) connected to your internet connection? If so, disconnect everything except your compute, and try sending a file again. If it works with everything disconnected, you can try connecting one device at a time to test for which device is the source of your problem.
Alternatively, I note from your system info that you have two Macs. Do you use a router to create a LAN at your location? If you cannot transfer files from either Mac, your router may be the problem. Disconnect your router, connect your Mac directly to your modem via ethernet cable, and try again.
If your problem goes away whenever the router is disconnected, add the router back and test again. Try this test two or three times. If the problem returns every time the router is connected, your router is causing the problem. If you have another router (or can borrow one) you can test whether any router will work with your system.

I tried to send "File: / / / " without quotes to a friend through the messages application which obviously crashed it. Now, however, File: / / / is saved as a draft message and will crash the messages app upon opening it. Is there a way to delete draft messages outside of the app?

In the Finder choose the "Go" menu and press Option followed by selecting the Library. Then go to the Messages folder and remove the files that begin with "chat.db" in their names. Then re-open the Messages program.

I am having problems combining 2 pdf's together. When I do it crashes Acrobat XI. The files are fairly large about 20Mb each if that helps. Others have been able to combine them without issue. Any Ideas?

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

I have tried to stop and start the channel but still no luck. This problem only happen for this particular communication channel others channel is working fine.
Please advise other solution before i need to restart the java engine since this in the production environment. The problem is some of the process was delayed because this issue. CC was delayed to pickup the file.

Acrobat PRO XI not responding when using Send File

We have 3 new Windows 7 Pro 64 bit workstations with latest service packs, Office 2013 latest service packs and Adobe Acrobat XI ver 11.0.4.
I have assigned the AD group Domain Users to the local pc Administrators group.
when trying to use the send file as an email attachment, the email is sent with the attachment but Acrobat goes to "not responding" state
When I login as me Domain Admin, works fine. When I login to my pc as one of these users works fine.
What am i missing?

I have the same issue, everything I do seems to only fix it temporarily. I can't believe we pay over $100 for a piece of software and the only support option is their forums, I can't call or even chat with a support rep, that is insane.
I have clients that this same issue is happening to and telling them it's fixed every other day only to have it break again and have no where to look for answers is extremely frustrating. Please help us out.

Why don't just put the common code in a separate file and include it in both. i.e. the code that is in one.jsp that is needed by two.jsp could be put in a common file and included in both pages, thus the HTML is separated off. If this will not work, set a boolean value in two.jsp that can be used by one.jsp to decide if the HTML should be displayed or not.

FCC configuration in Sender File Channel Without any key field name

We have below flat file generated from ECC using standard tcode.
The flat file is fixed length file and first record is header record followed by line items.
There is no key field name in the file name.
Can we read the file and convert into xml without any key field name?
I want to understand if the FCC configuration for above file can be done without key name or not.

AFAIK, using FCC i really doubt u can convert file into xml.
So technically, there are two options either read each line one by one and then do conversions in ur mapping or write a custom module which will read ur input file and convert into xml.
