Acrobat DC Pro Compare 2 Versions Gives Distorted Results

When attempting to compare 2 pdf versions in Acrobat DC Pro, the highlighted results become distorted.  Can only view the compare results by hovering over each word or zooming in enough to see the highlighted word.  Is this a known issue in DC? We did not have any issue's until we upgraded to DC, XI worked fine.
Here's an example:
We receive the following Error in Event Viewer
Source: SideBySide
Event ID: 80
Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 2015\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe".Error in manifest or policy file "" on line . A component version required by the application conflicts with another component version already active. Conflicting components are:. Component 1: C:\Windows\WinSxS\manifests\amd64_microsoft.windows.common-controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0. 7601.17514_none_fa396087175ac9ac.manifest. Component 2: C:\Windows\WinSxS\manifests\x86_microsoft.windows.common-controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.76 01.17514_none_41e6975e2bd6f2b2.manifest.

Thanks for reporting this issue.
Regrettably, I have not been able to reproduce this problem on my MacOS 10.9.5 with any of my sample PDF files.
Some additional questions:
(1) Does this happen with any and all PDF files you attempt to apply this Preflight profile to?
(2) Are you simply checking or fixing using the profile?
(3) Does Acrobat crash when using other, similar profiles? If so, which do crash and which don't?
(4) Are you using the English version of Acrobat or some other language version?
(5) Do you have any plug-ins installed?
Let me know the answers to these questions and we will try to proceed from there.

  • Question on Acrobat 9 Pro- Compare Docs

Does any one know why Acrobat 9 Pro - Compare Docs would not compare two PDF reports -- just close out both documents and not give an error message?  Acrobat 7 Pro compares these same 2 docs with no problems.

Hypothetically speaking, of course, the EULA does not specify uniqueness of purpose but of unique structure, regardless of intent.
There are many, many Acrobat users who are unaware of this EULA limitation.
Pearhps there is someone out there who has a good grasp of this EULA section 15.12.3.
Thank you for your comment in regards to this hypothetical disucssion.

  • Issue during installation of Acrobat 9 Pro Extended trial version

    Hello,
I have a problem during the installation of Acrobat 9 Pro Extended trial version. I downloaded the version from the Adobe website (so I have donwloaded APEX9_Win_WEB_WWEFG.exe and APEX9_Win_WEB_WWEFG.7z files).
After that I copied the files to another computer (a virtual machine to be more precise). I launched the exe file and all seems ok. At the end of the extraction I have this message : "An error occurs during the extraction of some files. Check the disk space and the access rigths of the folders". It is a translation of the french message because I tried with the english and the french trial version (both not working).
Does somebody already has this problem during the installation of a trial version?
    Thanks in advance,

I cannot speak for the trial or Vista, but Pro 9 Extended works well
    with XP SP3 under Parallels.

  • Acrobat X Pro does not open, gives fatal error - "Acrobat failed to send a DDE command"

Acrobat X Pro does not open and gives fatal error - "Acrobat failed to send a DDE command"
It either does the above or the application starts and is listed in the system processes but never physically opens on the desktop for viewing.

AA 9 will not work for anything but the print function from WORD 2010. The only version of Acrobat that is compatible with OFFICE 2010 for PDF Maker is AA X. Thus, open WORD and print to the Adobe PDF printer. Then open the pdf in Acrobat. Go to FORMS>Add or Edit fields. Since you have no fields at present, Acrobat will ask if you would like to detect form fields. Answer yes and you will get a first cut at the form fields. Yes, you will likely have to add some more and change the ones that Acrobat estimates, but you are on your way.
The other two options you have is to go back to WORD 2007 or earlier or upgrade to AA X (or find someone with AA X and WORD 2010). These methods are pretty much your options with the software combination that you have.

  • Acrobat XI Pro: Licensed / activated version in trial mode and expire after 30 days

First, when viewing a PDF file, my licensed Acrobat XI Pro (v11.0.10) closes the PDF and shows accept license agreement window.
    I accepted the license-agreement.
Then a window showed up telling me to log-in into my Adobe-account, clicked on log-in.
Log-in window did not appear though.
I re-launched Acrobat and it is now telling me that it is a trial version for 30 days.
    Great!
    "Help->Deactivate" is greyed out.
I may go into my Adobe account, Acrobat XI Pro is listed there, together with the key.
    Now what?

    Later:
with thanks to the solution from Vikrantt Singh
on: Re: Acrobat XI Pro Repeatedly Asking to License Despite Registering/Activating
minor exception - in my case the folders
    \Adobe PCD
    \SLCache
    were located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
    so:
    1) Delete the Adobe PCD-folder under C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD
    2) Delete the SL Cache-folder under C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache
    3) Delete the Sl Store-folder under C:\ProgramData\Adobe
    4) Launch Acrobat again and activate
    Now things are fine again.

  • I'm trying to install adobe acrobat XI pro, the trial version. The Install Download Assist pops up but the program doesn't install. I do see a file named XI Pro, but not a program. It seems the program never completely downloads. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I've tried to download the trial version of Acrobat XI pro but it's not working. The time bar is active for the download and indicates that it will take two hours. When I come back, the screen has gone back to the "install free trial here" page. I do see a file for XI Pro, but not a program.

  • Installed RoboHelp 11 for trial and it overwrote Acrobat 9 pro with broken version of Acrobat 11 which I can't uninstall.

The subject says it all. I installed Robohelp 11 to try it. Without my permission, the installation nuked my perfectly functional Acrobat 9.0 Pro and replaced it with a completely broken of Acrobat 11, which I neither wanted nor needed. I went to control panel to get rid of it so I could re-install Acrobat 9 Pro, and Acrobat 11 doesn't even appear as an application that can be uninstalled. Yes, the installation is that broken. So now I can't work with PDFs at all. I am more than happy to uninstall the trial of Robohelp to get back Acrobat, but I'm not even sure that will fix the issue since the installation program seems so squirrely. Anyone else had this problem. If so, how did you resolve it? Thanks for any help anyone can offer!

Thanks for your reply. As I mentioned in my post, when I went to Control Panel to uninstall Acrobat 11.0, it wasn't listed among currently installed apps. However, after going back and looking through the Installed On dates in Control Panel, I realized that for some reason, it's called Adobe PFD Creation Add-on XI, rather than Acrobat 11.0. Interestingly, the program folder name in Windows Explorer still uses Acrobat 11.0.
Fortunately for me, I always have disc versions of my software. So I was able to re-install Acrobat 9.0 once I got rid of Adobe PDF Creation Add-on XI. I really wish that Adobe made clearer what extras they are installing with these trial versions :-(
    Thanks again.

  • Changing Acrobat 9 pro extened Japanese Version to English Settings

I have purchased a Japanese Acrobat 9 pro extended for the Japanese capabilities but would like to have the settings and tool bars in English is this possible? Thank you...

Languages are serial number specific as are the installers. You cannot buy an English version and switch it to German because simply the German localized files would not be there. Acrobat 9 Pro included LiveCycle Designer, yes.

  • Can't reinstall Acrobat 8 Pro after testing version 9

I have a downloaded Adobe Web Premium CS3 which came with Acrobat 8 Pro. I ran a trial version of Acrobat 9 (which required uninstalling version 8) and this has now expired. I went back to my download to reinstall version 8 but it's asking for the medium which, of course, I don't have as it was a download. So, I thought I would go and download a trial of CS3 but that has been upgraded to include Acrobat 9. I don't want to buy just Acrobat 9 as I was waiting for a Web Premium upgrade. Any suggestions?
    Thanks, Dave

  • Acrobat X Pro - Compare Documents - Need Help

I'm running X Pro as a trial to determine if it is right to purchase for my company.  The main feature I am interested in is the "compare documents".  I am in the construction industry and part of my business is to provide estimates for projects.  We use acrobat 9 to view and comment on these documents and specialized software for the estimating portion.  Anyway, construction documents (aka blueprints) are commonly used in a pdf format.  As pricing develops, it is not uncommon for blueprints to change as the design of the building progresses.  Hence the allure of the compare document function.  Repeated attempts at comparing documents has proved unsuccesful.  I keep getting the message "unable to find matching document".  I have used both the "image" setting and the "scanned document" setting.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a PC.  I’m running windows 8  64 bit, but this problem occurred on Windows Vista as well.  There are no error codes it just won’t open.  You can use the program that morning to convert or combine files into a pdf. then 2 hours later you go to repeat the process and nothing.  The icon for it will appear on your desktop for 5 sec. and then disappear.   That’s it nothing else happens.  The same results will occur no matter how you try to open the program, restart your computer, or check for updates.
The only way to make the program work is to uninstall and reinstall it.  The first time this occurred the adobe rep told me to reinstall the whole suite.  It took 8 hours.  I have now found were I stored the suites setup files to reinstall the individual application verses the entire suite, but it is still annoying to have to re install it ever 30 days or so.  When I do re-install it all the serial numbers are in place and it says I have 36,XXX days left in my trail.
I don’t know what else you would want, but this is all I can give you because that’s what happens.  I’m currently taking online classes and we are all required to have this exact same suite and I know at least 2 other students who have mentioned this requiring problem.  One was so tired of it the purchased a different program to do it’s job.

Re: 3D data parsing error issue with Reader 9.3
I have had similar problems using Microstation. I am using Microstation version 08.11.07.171.
When creating the 3D PDF file from within Microstation using the print function, go to the 3D plotting settings and deslect "Convert wireframe geometry" and Convert annotations".
Once I deslected those two options, then recreated the 3D PDF files I was able to open them with the data parsing error.
Hopefully this will help for you too."

  • Acrobat X Pro Compare Documents To Sensitive

    Hi,
I am testing the "Compare Documents" functionality for my company in Acrobat Pro X. I must say I am pleased with the results for the most part but it seems like the compares are picking up to much information. For instance, If I insert a table row, I don’t want to see indicators that I have added 20+ new rows to a table (see Screenshot) when I only added 1 row (see grey indicators). I'm looking for a way to modify or tailor the sensitivity of the search function.
I posted this in the general section of Acrobat and am positing in here for posible scripting ideas. I did see Joel Geraci "Document Compare found too much – JavaScript to the Rescue" ariticle but the dowload link was broken and it would have to be updated to X. http://blogs.adobe.com/pdfdevjunkie/2009/05/document_compare_found_to_much.html
    Any scripting ideas?

Its a take it or leave it. You cannot adjust the comparison.
