Acrobat DC Pro eventID 80 SideBySide errors

Since I've upgraded from Acrobat Pro XI to Acrobat DC Pro, there are multiples SideBySide errors,
eventually my system freezes and the SSD disk goes offline.
Windows 7 64bit events :
Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat DC\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe".Error in manifest or policy file "" on line .

After reading several posts, I've reinstalled various MS Visual C++ Redistributables (2012  & 2013) but to no avail.
Acrobat DC works well, I had no problems with the PC before this upgrade.
A solution anyone ?

I have the exact same error with Acrobat DC - Windows 7 64-bit computer freezes requiring hard reboot - tried uninstalling DC (cleaned reg) - same errors still occurring plus I now get blue screen crashes as well.  Tried installing Acrobat 11 PRO after removing DC - computer still freezes requiring hard reboot. Acrobat is crucial to our web development company and this is extremely disruptive to our business.

Called Adobe support who says "they are working on it".

  • Adobe Acrobat XI Pro causes an error when starting it - Adobe Acrobat has stopped working. How do I resolve this?

I've had Adobe Acrobat XI Pro for some time, but yesterday it stopped working and I started having an 'Adobe Acrobat has stopped working' error. It then tells me to Close the Program.
    How do I resolve this?
    Thanks and regards
    Roxanne

Thanks Pat. I was able to resolve the problem.
OS is Windows 7 Pro, Adobe Acrobat Pro 11.0.07.
I went into the Properties file where I identified that Users only had Read & Execute and Read properties, I changed properties for Everyone to Full Control. That fixed the problem.
I don't know how the properties got changed to just Read & Execute, but there had been an automatic update the night before.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro: Message "An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display page correctly.

    Hi everyone,
I posted this in September: "Over the past week, I have received pdfs from 2 different graphic design contractors that do not open correctly in Acrobat 9 Pro. There is an error in the document and when I scroll to the page where the error is, I get: "An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person hwo created the PDF document to correct the problem." I did this, and the contractor remade the pdf 3 times, and I still couldn't open it. This contractor is already using CS5. For the problem today, I haven't asked for it to be remade yet--decided to see if I could find out if anyone else is having the same problem. The second contractor is using CS4. The only thing that I have done differently at my end over the past week is upgrade CS4 to CS5. I already had Acrobat Pro 9 so I didn't update it when I updated my CS5 products. Should I have upgraded Acrobat 9 anyway? Somehow, it doesn't feel right that this is the problem. Any info on this would be appreciated."
I got one response from that posting, suggesting that the pdf was corrupted over email. That wasn't the problem.
What I didn't say above is that whenever I got an error message upon opening the pdf and clicked OK, I got another message: "Insufficient data for an image." I found that one or all of the images in the pdf were missing. Upon further investigation, the contractor and I found that sometimes the error message pointed to a specific font used--that being a Helvetica Bold font. Once we substituted it with a Helvetica Neue LT Std Adobe Opentype font, we no longer had an issue.
However, the problem rose it's ugly head today--what, 6 months later! I'm talking about 2 different pdfs this time.
For PDF#1, I got this error message about the font: "Cannot extract the embedded font 'JNAGNS+HelveticaNeueLTStd-Bd'. Some characters may not display or print correctly."  When I click OK, I get another: "Insufficient data for an image." The images don't show up in the pdf. What I don't understand about this pdf is that this is one of those that was fixed in September. The only changes made in the document was to paragraph text--none to the text in the images. When I opened the revised pdf today, I am getting the same message again. This makes no sense.
I returned to my September blog to see if any further advice had been posted, but nada--not even anything from Adobe about it. I goggled until I found where someone suggested running a "Report PDF syntax issues" analysis in Preflight. I did that and even though the analysis showed the pdf passed, I checked the fonts in the list and saw that the one pointed to in the error message showed that a long list of glyphs were missing on both pages of the pdf. I have asked my contractor to replace her font with a new one, in case it has gotten corrupted. Haven't a new pdf to open yet.
Then when I opened PDF#2, I got the message: "An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person hwo created the PDF document to correct the problem." When I ran the "Report PDF syntax issues" analysis in Preflight, I found got this warning: "Invalid operand(s) for operator (1 match on 1 page)". I clicked through and under "Page Description Errors/Invalid operand(s) for operator", it identifies Operator Name, Stream State, Operators Read, and Traversal Path. Under "Trigger Values" is says "Invalid operand(s) for operator: is true". None of this means a thing to me so I can't figure out what the problem is.
Let me say this: Both the contractor and I are using CS5 and Acrobat Pro 9, on Lion. If it helps, the contractor also sent one of the problem pdfs back in September to my boss who is running Acrobat Pro 9 on Windows 7 and she got the same messages.
Does anyone out there have a suggestion for us? PLEASE HELP!!!!

Thanks to all for posting suggestions. As it turned out, the contractor who was having a problem reinstalled Acrobat 9. She works from home and is emailing the pdfs to me. Things were running smoothly until this past week, when the problem started again. Whenever I get a pdf that won't open properly or print, I asked her to zip it and it is no longer a problem. Last week, I had the same problem start with a contractor in Florida and she also zips the pdf when there is a problem. Now I am thinking the problem might be at my end. I wonder if something is happening to them when they come through our firewall at work. I asked IT about it before but they didn't have a clue what the problem might be. Right now, zipping is the answer...who knows how long that will continue to work.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - I/O error message when saving

I'm trying to save an 823KB PDF file that I've worked on many times before and saved successfully in the past, but now when I try to save I get an error message that says "The docuement can not be saved. A file I/O error has occured."
I really don't want to loose the 2hrs worth of work I put into this doc. today- help! I'm on my local server at work. Here is a list of all the things I've already tried:
1.changing the file name - I get the same I/O error
    2. saving as a Word doc. - I get a message that says "Save As failed to process this documents. No file was created."
    3. When I copy & paste into Word I lose all my formatting and images
    4. copy & paste into a new PDF doc. - I get an error message from an "editor" saying that I can only author documents up to 20 pages. I don't have an option to copy and paste select pages.. only to copy the file. I did figure out a way to copy the file and move it into a new blank PDF but I still loose all the formatting and images in the file.
    5. This is an 87 page document that I'm continuing to build so printing isn't going to work
    6. Searching google or this forum- I see this problem posted elsewhere, but no viable solutions posted.
    Please help (thank you)!

You might try running CHKDSK on the disk to where you try to save the file. You might have a corrupted file directory or a damaged track on that disk. I urge you to backup what you can before trying this.

  • Frequently asked to uninstall and reinstall Acrobat 9 Pro

This is becoming an aggravating issue with me.  I don't mind uninstalling and reinstalling, but to go through all the updates is time consuming.  I have yet to find anything from Adobe that addresses this.  Perhaps I missed something/  Thank you in advance for any help.

Thank you for the quick response, Bill@VT.
I open Acrobat 9 Pro and an error screen appears on top of the gray portion of Acrobat workspace  that says to the effect that " the program will no longer start.  You must uninstall and reinstall the program". I did not capture the error message, but it had no number."  What I was doing right before that was trying to load a .pdf to Acrobat.
I am running Win XP Pro sp3.  This has been an on-going problem for the past year, maybe a little more.   It has happened several times since January of this year.  It does not correspond with any new programs I have installed, unless some auto update from HP or Windows Update is triggering it.  Basically, nothing has changed on this system since I first installed the program in 2008, other than hard drive upgrades and program updates.  None of which have taken place within a month or two of when the program fails to start.
When it happens again, I will be sure to capture the screenshot of the error message.  It takes a couple of hours to reinstall all the updates to get to the final 9.5.
It is difficult to recall exactly what I was doing before this happens in past incidents.  Today, an hour or two before, I had downloaded a .pdf of a meeting agenda from a trusted site (a city government website...if that can be considered "trusted"!!).  I hadn't opened any strange emails, but had just used Elements 11 to edit some photos that I saved to a file.  I use AVG anti-virus and also scan with Malwarebytes once a week or so.  There doesn't seem to be a pattern to this error.
As for the Acrobat 9 Pro updates, long ago I bookmarked the link you shared.  I download them fresh from the site even though I have copies in a folder.
For the record, I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 installed along with an older version of it, both work flawlessly.

the errors occur shortly after booting the system.  is there a fix for these errors?

z solution is pretty simple. as always when users should repair Adobe Corp errors  while Adobe Corp's time of sweat dreams....
    1. download & install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update (latest VC++2005) both x86 & x64:
        http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=14 431
       this is mainly for availability of ms assembly "Microsoft.VC80.CRT" version="8.0.50608.0" processorArchitecture="x86" (and amd64) publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b" in ur Win7sp1x64;
    2. download & install z free resources editor application from here http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/
    3.  open in Resource Hacker file FormDesigner.exe subfolder '24' then '1' and click string 1033. then change z part of this string as explained below. in short it's just swap all "x86" entries to "*" ones (means either x86 or amd64):
    a) original string:
    <assembly xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1" manifestVersion="1.0"><assemblyIdentity version="1.0.0.0" processorArchitecture="x86" name="FormDesigner" type="win32"></assemblyIdentity><description>Themed Form Designer</description><dependency><dependentAssembly><assemblyIdentit y type="win32" name="Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls" version="6.0.0.0" publicKeyToken="6595b64144ccf1df" language="*" processorArchitecture="x86"></assemblyIdentity></dependentAssembly></ dependency><dependency><dependentAssembly><assemblyIdentity type="win32" name="Microsoft.VC80.CRT" version="8.0.50727.762" processorArchitecture="x86" publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b"></assemblyIdentity></dependentAssem bly></dependency><dependency><dependentAssembly><assemblyIdentity type="win32" name="Microsoft.VC80.MFC" version="8.0.50727.762" processorArchitecture="x86" publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b"></assemblyIdentity></dependentAssem bly></dependency><dependency><dependentAssembly><assemblyIdentity type="win32" name="Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls" version="6.0.0.0" processorArchitecture="*" publicKeyToken="6595b64144ccf1df" language="*"></assemblyIdentity></dependentAssembly></dependency><dep endency><dependentAssembly><assemblyIdentity type="win32" name="Microsoft.VC80.CRT" version="8.0.50608.0" processorArchitecture="x86" publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b"></assemblyIdentity></dependentAssem bly></dependency><dependency><dependentAssembly><assemblyIdentity type="win32" name="Microsoft.VC80.MFC" version="8.0.50608.0" processorArchitecture="x86" publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b"></assemblyIdentity></dependentAssem bly></dependency><trustInfo xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v3"><security><requestedPrivileg es>

    b) modded string:

    that's all. enjoy.
    rgds,
P.S. maybe u can skip item#1. up 2 u. sorry i'm not sure because i've started from item#1 due to another errors with ID 33. that was solved by install of z above ms vc++2005 update x86.

I know others have had same/similar experiences with somewhat earlier versions of Acrobat Pro, for example:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/5164184#5164184
I've reinstalled Acrobat Pro, and also did a Repair Installation from the Help menu, but nothing seems to fix it.
I also have Adobe CS5 installed (not all components).  All software is fully updated -- both Adobe products and Windows 7.
I occasionally use the form functions of Acrobat Pro and would like to be able to edit forms... so I much rather not disable the entire function.
Any suggestions on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks,
    JF

This has bothered me for a while, never was able to find a solution, so today it began to bother me and I thought I would bump up this thread.
Is there a solution? Or has Adobe decided not to address it for their customers that get the error? For me, my event log shows this error at least once for every day.

  • Win 7 SideBySide Error with Acrobat Pro

I am running Win 7 64 bit SP1 and Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.5.4.  In the Event Viewer I keep getting Error ID 80 SideBySide which says:

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling.  I've also read that installing manual updates might help but when I tried that I got an error to the effect that I didn't have that program installed.  I'm pretty sure I did that correctly but maybe not.   Anyway, is anyone familiar with this and can tell me what I can do to fix it?
    Thank you.

What happened was I did the initial install using my CD and set Acrobat to not download or install updates since I was going to try and do that manually.   I tried to do it manually, but when I went to install the update got a message that the proper program did not exist or something like that.   I thought maybe I tried to jump too far too fast - i.e., from my disk which I believe is 9.0 to 9.5.4 from Adobe's website.  So I was going to come back when I had more time and do more incremental upgrades.
Later that day there was an Adobe Updater icon in my task bar and I thought it was for another program and clicked on it.  It updated Acrobat to 9.5.4. Both when the original 9.0 was installed and when the update occurred, I got the SideBySide errors.
I'm fine with uninstalling it and trying again, but I'm not really sure what's the best approach at this point.  I'm wondering if anyone else has had any success it installing it and not getting the SideBySide errors.
    Thanks.

  • Error 1500 in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Install

I have Windows 8.1, and I am attempting to download Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro from the content disc provided when I purchased Creative Suite 5 some time ago. During installation, I received the Error 1500 message. No existing forum is solving my problem. I have tried unregistering, then re-registering my Windows Installer. There are also no mid-installation processes in my registry. Also, the fact that I can only get customer support over a forum is unpleasant to me. That seems a little consumer elitist, don't you think? Anyway, I digress. If you can, please help.

    Hi athoopes,
We apologize for the inconvenience, we would try to help you with this issue.
I would like to inform you that there could also be an issue with the compatibility between Acrobat 9 pro and windows 8.1 as it was not tested on win 8.1.
Check system requirements System requirements | Acrobat family of products
Kindly check if the log files(.GZ) for acrobat is getting created on the below mentioned location.

  • Error 1067: when trying to update Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro

I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and have been using it for over 3 years. I Changed computers and uninstalled it from my first and then reinstalled it in my new, but have run into a problem that I cannot find an answer to, nor can I get any help from Adobe.
I will be notified that there are updates available and I will select yes to update the program, but after 20-30 second, a new window will pop up stating:
    Update Failed
    The process terminated unexpectedly.
    Error: 1067
    Details   (http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/update-errors-acrobat-reader-windows.html)
From there, I will click on the Details link and be sent to an Adobe page telling me:
Try downloading Reader directly from this page.
This link sends me to a page to download the latest version of Adobe Reader (http://get.adobe.com/reader/direct/), so, I will make all of the selections, download it, install it, restart my computer, but when I open Acrobat 9 Pro and try to run the update again, nothing changes and I receive the same error message.
Now, I go to try and get some help from Adobe, but am just sent here to see if I can find out any other information because they "no longer" help with Acrobat 9 Pro(?).
Does anyone have any answer on what I can do to fix this or why this is happening? I've never had any problems with this program before. It just all started when I changed computers, and this one is a brand new computer, so no bugs or anything. I installed Photoshop CS5, Illustrator CS5 and InDesign CS5 without any problems and they all updated without a problem.
I'm not sure how important the updating really is, but it makes me feel better, knowing that any changes or problems with the program can get "fixed" with these updates.
    Thank You,
    Sean

Not that it is going to ease the testing of your patience at all to suggest you try somewhere else, but there is a forum dedicated to Acrobat Installation and Update Issues that might have some info or people ready and able to help you:
