Hi,
I have been trying to update Acrobat to Acrobat DC and keep getting an Update Failed message at 35%. When I select Learn more I have the following error summary.

I have looked for error code DW013 but can't seems to find a fix.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  • Adobe Acrobat DC Update Failed

    Hi,
I have a big problem with updating to Adobe Acrobat DC (Windows 8.1, 64 bit); I am trying to install it since three days now. When installing out of the CCInstaller, the following error appears:
    =================================================================
    Exit Code: 7
Please see specific errors below for troubleshooting. For example, ERROR:

    =================================================================
I already tried all of these recommended steps: Error 1603: A fatal error occurred during installation, but it did not work. I also tried to install it via the direct DCInstaller, but there is is always an error when installing. Sometimes this one:
(Installation failure of the Acrobat License Module. Possible solutions under http://...)
    Sometimes this one:
It's really frustrating... Any additional idea?
    Thanks very much in advance,

Same problem here! I just want to install Acrobat DC and I get the same problem, but my old acrobat version (Acrobat XI Pro still working). Are you really mean that with this 'installation of Microsoft Visual Studio' it will work. I can't effort that my acrobat don't work any longer. Thanks!
Here are some steps worth trying. Looks like your Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 Run-time installation is corrupt.
I found that following steps work if you're getting error:
"Error 1722.  There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package.  A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected.  Contact your support personnel or package vendor.  Action InstallWebResources, location c:\program files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat\AcrpCEF\AcroServicesUpdater.exe"
Try following steps and it should work:
    1) Goto Download Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 from Official Microsoft Download Center and click Download.
    2) Select vcredist_x86.exe and download the package.
    3) If you're on a 64 bit machine navigate to "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\" else navigate to "C:\Windows\System32" on 32 bit machines. If "C:\Windows\SysWOW64" folder exists then you're on a 64 bit machine.
    4) Search for msvcr120.dll and msvcp120.dll and rename both files. Don't delete them so that just in case vcredist_x86.exe package fails to install you can rename them back.
    5) Now double click vcredist_x86.exe and install it. After installation completes check that msvcr120.dll and msvcp120.dll are now installed back. You can delete the files that you renamed in step above now. Don't delete msvcr120.dll and msvcp120.dll
    6) Install Acrobat through CC Installer and it should install now without complain.

  • Why does the Adobe Acrobat DC Update Fail on a Mac Running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2?

I don't have Adobe Acrobat installed anymore, yet CC is still telling me I need to update Adobe Acrobat DC. When I try to update it, it gets to 35% and fails, every time. I've tried quitting and reopening CC; quitting CC, deleting the OOBE folder in my profile, and reopening CC. Regardless, it fails. Here's the output:

Could you please retry after restarting the system. This should be fixed now.
If this issue does not get resolve even after restart then please share the following details :
    1. Operating System information.
    2. Do you have any previous version of Acrobat installed?
    3. Share PDApp.log file from ~/Library/Logs, Acrobat Installer logs (Adobe Setup Error.log and Adobe Acrobat DC 15.007.20033 <Date>.log.gz) from /Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers and install.log from /var/log.

  • Adobe Acrobat DC Update Failed - wrong directory and names?

The CC applet downloads stuff and extracts it under TEMP.  Then it complains  that
    E:\Temp\{AE78F010-4298-4465-BAE0-11B03C94ACAB}\Acrobat_11_0_0_CCM_MUI\Adobe CS7\payloads\AcrobatProfessional11.0-mul\
    is not available.
Sure enough, there is no such directory.  What was extracted is
    E:\Temp\{453CF38A-AA1D-4D7F-8667-4D08A3A9D070}
and under there is a file with the correct name:
    E:\Temp\{453CF38A-AA1D-4D7F-8667-4D08A3A9D070}\Acrobat_DC_Web_WWMUI\Adobe Acrobat\AcroPro.msi
But when I choose that, it claims that it's "not a valid installation package for the product Adobe Acrobat XI Pro".
If I run the MSI or the Setup.exe (in the same directory) directly, it asks for a Serial Number.

    Hi JMDlugosz,
What version of Acrobat do you currently have on your system.. Acrobat XI or DC?
Moreover, What os version are you using? Have you have installed OS on E:\  drive?

  • 9.1.2 Update Fails in Acrobat Pro 9

I am running a standalone version of Acrobat Pro 9 on an iMac running Mac OS X 10.5.8. I am trying to update Acrobat Pro 9 from 9.1.1 to 9.1.2 without success. I have had problems with EVERY SINGLE update from 9.0.0 whether from help>check for update OR from a direct download from Adobe.
When attempting to install 9.1.2 I receive the following message:
The patch has failed because the application has been modified since it was originally installed (for example, plug-ins may have been disabled). Please go to the Adobe support website for more information regarding how to re-enable disabled components prior to installing the patch.  Or, you can uninstall and reinstall the application, and then reinstall the patch.
The console log has the following messages:
    04/09/2010 12:04:34 PM defaults[17997]
    The domain/default pair of (/Volumes/AcroProUpd912_all/Acrobat 9 Pro Patch.app/Contents/Resources/RegExList, 1) does not exist

04/09/2010 12:04:47 PM Acrobat 9 Pro Patch[17975] Install script failed with exit status: 1
I decided to do a complete uninstall and reinstall of a more up-to-date version of Acrobat Pro 9 from the Adobe site, but the uninstaller claims Adobe Acrobat Pro.app is an invalid file.
I've read countless messages online with similar stories and I find it incredible that there are so few solutions to all of these problems.
Contrary to my nature, I am hopeful someone can help.
    Thanks.
P.S. - it's hard not to be sympathetic to Apple's latest contretemps with Adobe Flash...

    graffiti, KamakuraKid, phillip -
thanks for all the tips - unfortunately none of the suggestions worked.
i first deleted the AUMProduct.aup file - the update failed.
i hoped a new admin account would do the trick, but was surprised to again encounter the "The patch has failed..." error.
as far as the python errors in console, i don't have these.
as a last resort i ran the uninstaller program, but it does not think Adobe Acrobat Pro.app is a valid program file!
i'd drag it to the waste basket, but am sure some piece left hanging somewhere would come back to haunt me.
not sure what to do now...

  • My acrobat 9 standard fails to find update and any update patch form the adobe ftp site refused to apply saying product not installed or warong patch

I had been using acrobat 9.5.3 updated through the years form 9.0 that came with my Scansnap.

however the update refused to aply even at 9.1.0
    what can I do?

The cleaner says it should only be used after regular uninstall fails.
I tried changed the install to full install not skipping lang and doc support. no effect, tried repair no effect
tried deactivate and uninstall, reboot, ran the cleaner just in case and it found nothing to clean.
installed with typical settings. reboot, tried to
opened acrobat, help, update, no upd avail.
    apply AcrobatUpd910_all_me_incr.msp. no luck
I look at registry, found no entry for adobe under HKLM software, only in HKCU
Is that a problem for the update?
    Did find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\9.0\FeatureLockDown
    and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Adobe\Acrobat PDFMaker,

However, I ran the Microsoft Mr Fixit, and it found no problem with the installation of acrobat.

  • Update 9.0.2 to Acrobat 9 Pro fails to install

Am trying to update Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, and the update fails to install

Normally you would do the updates from the Help>Updates menu from within Acrobat. Sometimes the server has issue or other problems come up and the updates do not work for some reason. The current level of AA 9 is 9.5.5. To do the updates manually, go to http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows (similar for MAC, but you did not state the OS), download from the latest to the earliest. The reason for this order is to note with each update the previous update that is needed. Then install the updates in order. You only have to reboot after the last update.

You are right. There are a lot more self-support tools available in Windows

The upgrade is not the 11.0.06, but that is an update. The upgrade is what
you can purchase if you had a previous version of Acrobat (at least AA 9).
The upgrade is substantially less in price than the full product. With the
upgrade you also have to have the SN of the previous product available for
the install. That is why I asked about the upgrade. Once you install AA XI,
then going to 11.0.06 is a free update (updates are changes in the
sub-version and are done quarterly or when there is a critical security
issue).  You can often fix installations by running a repair. In Windows
that is done either from Help>Repair or from the Control Panel. I do not
know the equivalent of the Control panel in the MAC. In any case I am glad
    you got it fixed.

  • Error:1602 , Adobe Acrobat Updater - Update Failed

My operating system is Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit
After installing Creative Suites 4 and downloading updates, I received an Acrobat Updater notification that Updates were available.
I clicked on the Adobe Acrobat Updater icon and ultimately got the following Error.
Adobe Acrobat Updater, Update Failed, Error:1602
This was solved by going to C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Acrobat\9.2\ARM
I deleted the contents of the ARM folder and then ran "Check for Updates" from Adobe Acrobat. This re-populated the ARM folder with the correct folder and files. Updater ran and I followed the instructions to restart my computer and now it works well.

  • Acrobat Pro XI update fails - error 1406

I have about 5 computers, all Windows 7, that exhibit this problem, and dozens more that don't have the problem. Updates fail with the message "Error 1406. Could not write value {47833539-D0C5-4125-9FA8-0819E2EAAC93} to key \SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar." The updates are being run from an administrator account. If I look at the key in Registry Editor it says the handle is invalid. I can't change values, delete values or anything else to this key. I fixed one by reformatting the computer but that seems like overkill and it's time consuming since all these computers have different software packages and they can't all be cloned. What's causing this and how can I fix it? I've tried registry cleaners and they don't help either.

It sounds like it is machine specific to the setups you have. Maybe you have something running on the systems that is causing the problem. Have you tried the manual downloads from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows? Sometimes the manual download avoids such problems.
