Acrobat DC update question

Hello. My creative cloud desktop app indicates that I have some updates available. It shows Acrobat DC. I've been using Acrobat Pro to date. Is Acrobat DC a replacement update for that software? When I click update I get this message: "Installing a trial of Adobe Acrobat DC will uninstall previous versions of Acrobat. This will deactivate any license for those versions." What does that mean?

Thank you very much for your quick, correct and polite reply.
Please, consider to suggest to solve other issues that I noticed when replacing this file:
1)
The "protection" menu doesn't display the policy list for the saved items (it's quite boaring to have to enter into the policy menu to select a saved set: at least for people like me that have the steady habit on the direct selection from the menu items).
2)
Last but not the least, the saved policies don't works.
I tested an old policy, but the document hasen't recived the modify (I have opened it with mac preview and I was able to copiy a portion, without warning with the password input mask...).
This is a huge issue...
Following, few screenshots to better explain the issue:
1) Replaced file into right subfolder (please, note the creation time):
2) Into Acro DC (Protection Menu is blank - even if I have rebooted my mac):
3) The policies are still there (with correct creation date&time):
4) Saved file with protection (assumed true...): the protection state is "allowed" ("consentito" in italian language) for all the items...
5) The acid test: mac preview permits changes (never occurred before with password protection)...
Any other suggestions to solve this trouble?

    If you get a notice, then go to the help menu in Acrobat and use the check for updates there. You can also go to Adobe.com>downloads and select the updates under the reader link in the upper right of the screen. If you do the latter manual update, you have to download all updates after the version you have and install them in order.

  • Acrobat X update disables Adobe plug-in in Chrome.

    After locally installing Adobe Acrobat X and running the update in our lab environment, the Acrobat plug-in in Google Chrome becomes disabled and requires the user to download the PDF rather then viewing it within the browser window. Since Chrome has been virtually installed within our lab environment, there is no option available for enabling the plug-in. Is there a method available that would allow us to customize the installation of the update to prevent the plug-in from being disabled?

  • Acrobat 8 updates?

    Acrobat 8  I'm transferring an old copy of Adobe Acrobat 8 to a new computer running W7.  I got it installed, but I cannot find any updates. The old computer was XP and I have the Key, but no disc.  I downloaded it on a memory stick and did the AdobeAcrobat.dll swap.  It's loaded, but i want to update it to the fullest version, which I believe is 8.3.1.  Apparently 8 is no longer supported.  The Abode sight stats with Acrobat 11 updates.  I cannot find them anywhere on their site.  I tried to use the update function in the program and it just reports that no updates are available.  Does anyone know where I can get those files?

    You can find all updates on ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/8.x/ but remember that this version has not been updated for years and may contain a lot of security issues. I will not recommend using this version on a PC where you receive PDF files other people.

  • Latest Acrobat X Update Killed Com1

    The latest Acrobat X update killed my Com1 port. Yes, I still use Com1 to communicate with my ham radio. So if any Adobe guy is reading the discussions in this form, please fix this bug. BTW, why do I have to call tech support, why can't I send you guys an e-mail.

    To correct the port problem of Adobe PDF Printer after the application of A10.0.1 patch kindly follow the below steps (they require Admin privileges):
    1.      Go to Devices and Printers.
    2.      Right Click on the Adobe PDF printer and click on Remove Device (Win 7). This will delete the Adobe PDF printer.
    3.      Go to Programs and Features (Win 7)
    4.      Select Adobe Acrobat X Pro or Standard and click on Change
    5.      Select Repair and follow instructions to complete repair
    6.      After the repair is done you will have correct settings of Adobe PDF printer and also Adobe Acrobat version 10.0.1.

  • Consistant Acrobat Reader Update Problems

    Why the hell can't adobe produce an acrobat reader update that doesn't feel the need to drop an icon on the desktop if it does not find one there?
    This apparent need to mark you territory is highly annoying. Or can't you figure out how to disable it in the patch utility?

    You mean Acrobat.com?  This is an outdated software which has been replaced with online services at https://www.acrobat.com/

  • Error message during Acrobat X update installation

    I have been trying to install the latest update for Acrobat X and get the following error message: "Unable to modify file C:\Program\Files(x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe".  I have successfully installed updates previously on this computer without any issues arising. 

    Are you logged in as the administrator? Do you have anti-virus disabled? Are you trying to update from inside Acrobat (Help>Updates) or by a manual update by download? What operating system are you on?

  • Can we make things more Useful...? not an update question.

    Ok well i said its not an update question.. well it kinda is.
    today is friday.. the release date of the new iphone 3g.. great.. i love my iphone.. im goin to wait a week or so before i go ahead and buy the new phone for sake of bugs and lil tweaks..
    ok so today i dont know what drove me to update my iphone.. and it got totally bricked for 3 hours.. until i finnally got thru using the "clicking" solution... well i understand the server is overwelmed.. and everyone is updatin and the same time.. but there was a prompt askin if i wanted to update and get the latest iphone software and the latest version of itunes... good.. lets all download it.. most of us it will take 3-6 hours for the iphone to update because the whole problem with the overload on apples side...
    ..BUT...
    what if we cant wait that long?
    i SYNC'd my iphone before the update.. well everyone does... itunes prompts you to do so.. WHY.. emphasizing on WHY... if we synced the phone to our computer systems.. and a problem like for example is goin forth now with this update... CAN'T we just restore our iphones back to how it was before we even tried updating it?
    IT did SAVE to our computers right?
    why cant we just double click here, right click right there..
    and BOOM..
    back for pre 2.0 days.. well until after the storm has passedt..
    why cant we have that option in itunes... heck why not?
    hey doctors will always have beepers to get in contact with.. so hey the whole life death situation thing means it isnt that that THAT bad.. but hey everyone needs there cell phone and people use cell phones.. this one in particular for business.. so maybe we could have avoided some confrontation to some conference calls and clients.. etc... well regardless.. as easy for the update to have made the iphone in a way "bricked".. i think it should have been easy to restore to pre 2.0 .
    windows has that option in its system restore feature...
    download something that messes up your system? virus? update that doesnt work well with the OS?.. restore to an earlier date is an option in the control panel..
    i think itunes need something like that with the iphone version..
    last but not least..
    i love my iphone :-D

    I have been trying to update Acrobat to Acrobat DC and keep getting an Update Failed message at 35%. When I select Learn more I have the following error summary.

    I apologize right away for posting a new topic with my updated question. But I realized I didn't phrase it right to get any help.
    The question is - is it possible make both Mac links and PC links available on one disk. They would be in separate chapters. (i.e., directing Mac users to this page and Pc to another) Anyone tried this.

    I just realised I misled you in my replay to your earlier post due to my poor writing skills
    to clarify:
    I suggest using Intellidisc to create the links for playback on a PC
    you would also use DVD@Access within DVDSP to create the links for Mac playback
    the links will work when played back on both mac and PC from this single disc
    the Intellidisc website gives all this in a tutorial at:
