Acrobat does not start up
Hi,
Acrobat was initially working, when I bought my Touchpad yesterday.
Then I
1. Uploaded about 12 PDF files via USB-disk mode
and Acrobat still worked
2. I installed the update that Software Manager suggested (now it shows version 10.2.276)
but now when I try to launch acrobat, I get the flashing logo forever.
I have already reset the device but no change in behavior.
Any suggestions are highly appreciated, thanks!

Hello E and welcome to the forums..
The PDF Viewer is a ROM application. Built in with the OS. So, a reset or reboot may not resolve the situation. When you say you've tried the reset, Did you try going into the Device info> Reset Options> Erase Apps and Data. You will need to sign the device back into your HP Web OS account. So, please make sure you have your email and password for the account before you attempt this.
If you have already tried the Erase Apps and Data, You can also try the Web OS Doctor. This should resolve the issue. The Web OS Doctor can be found here http://ws.hpwebos.com/webosdoctor/hpserialnumberinitial.htm.
Just follow the instructions and please let us know if this resolved it for you.
Thanks,
Cola

Acrobat does not start after installation
Recently purchased Adobe Acrobat 11 Standard, did the fresh installation and ran the program. Nothing appears...
Searched web and forums and tried adobe cleaner, acrofix, renaming cache file but no luck.
Tried uninstalling / re-installing (using cleaner too) as well.
I do not have any creative suite products installed on this PC. (only Adobe products I have installed are: reader, AIR, flash)
This seems to be a well known issue. Is there anything I can try other than the ones I mentioned above?I am experiencing the exact same issues as minc76274552 except that I have the acrobat 11 Pro.
I have been unable to get any assistance at all from adobe, with the exception of this forum, and this is my first post. No chat, no phone numbers - really frustrating!
No errors at installation - I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times thinking something must have gone awry. Nothing helps. When I try to star the program, either by double clicking on a pdf or from the shortcut, I get a rotating circle for a few seconds (like it is starting) and then it just goes away, nothing happens.
I haven't tried starting as an administrator, but I'll try that next.... -
Acrobat Pro X 10.1.10 Does Not Start Windows 8.1
I have Create Suite CS6 which apparently bundles Adobe Acrobat Pro X. I have upgraded to 10.1.10. Under Window 8.1, this version simply does not start. There is no startup screen. There is no error in EventViewer of Windows. It simply does NOTHING.
I went to Windows Program and Features and did a "Repair" on Acrobat Pro X. This redid the install but the result is the same.
Is there a known compatibility issue here? How do I work around this?Hello,
Have you tried to run the Acrofix patch on your computer?
If not, please follow this link, http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/acrobat-failed-launch-30-days.html

Acrobat X (C6) does not start
Acrobat X within CS6 does not start.
I tried uninstalling CS6 and reinstalling and it still doesn't work.
I tried unilstalling just the Acrobat X Pro module. I'm not sure how to install just this component.
I'm running Win7 Ultimate 64-bit on a Dell T-3500 with 12GB of RAM.
It appears that I'm running CS6 Master Collection v6.1 (service pack 1).
What are the recommended next actions to resolve the Acrobat X problem?
Thanks.Hello,
Make sure you are connected to the internet.
Launch CS6 product other than Acrobat or Flash Builder (for example: Photoshop, After Effects, Premier Pro, InDesign, Flash Professional, Illustrator, Dreamweaver.)
Click on Help->Deactivate .
Deactivate the application. Quit application.
Launch a regular CS6 product other than Acrobat or Flash Builder (for example: Photoshop, After Effects, Premier Pro, InDesign, Flash Professional, Illustrator, Dreamweaver.)
Accept Eula.
Register trial by signing in. Let the app launch.
Quit and relaunch the app. Wait for UI to come.
Click on License This Software button on the UI.
Click on Sign in .
Serial number screen will come
Enter the serial number in the serial number screen and click Next.
Quit app and relaunch the app while connected on the internet .
After this if you launch Acrobat it will launch and run forever without trouble. In case you still face a problem , try relaunching the other CS6 app once more and then launch Acrobat.
You can refer this thread http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1021632 for reference.
Thank you,

Adobe Acrobat Pro 10 does not start anymore
This happened to me three times now. One time Adobe Acrobat Pro 10 is working properly for weeks. It crashes once and after that it does not start anymore without providing a message or clue.
What I used to do is remove CS6 completely and reinstall it. But this is tedious. Just uninstalling Acrobat Pro and reinstalling it doesn't do the trick.
My guess is that a setting is stopping Acrobat Pro from starting. Is it possible to reset Acrobat Pro settings to the factory default? I've already remove the folders under
%LOCALAPPDATA% \adobe\acrobat and
%APPDATA% \adobe\acrobat
but this doesn't help.Ok. This occasion I had a bit of time on my hand and found a solution yuhu!
Make sure you have access to you license key as you have to enter it new after this procedure
1) Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD\cache
2) Delete or rename the file cache.db
3) Open Acrobat Pro, you will be asked to license the software again under your Adobe-ID again.
4) If asked to connect to your Adobe-ID and re-enter the license key.
Now Acrobat Pro is working (as are all the other CS6 applications. -
It just shows the thinking wheel a second and nothing happens.
I have installed Adobe Creative Suite 6 on a PC running windows 7. All the other applications run fine.
What is wrong with Acrobat?Of course. I can give you the system info.
There is no crash log. And the application does not show up in the task manager, not as an application or a process or services, since it does not start.
Earlier I did a reinstall every time this happened, and it would start up for a bit. Tedious but effective. This does not work anymore. -
the acrobat is not starting.
while creating pdf from MS Word 2003 it says the acrobat is not activated.And... did you activate it with your serial number?

WebAnalysis does not start after workspace is set on Windows Authentication
I've used [doc Hyperion System 9.3.x Configuring the BI+ Workspace for Single Sign-On (SSO) with Internet Information Services (IIS) [ID 1100096.1] to configure SSO for workspace users. It works fine. Though since then the WA service does not start anymore. The error message which is raised sounds very very familar but still I am not able to tackle it. The message in the log or the analysis console is "[WARN] [STANDBY] ExecuteThread: '1' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)' com.hyperion.analyzer.utils.general.HYAUtil - Wait for workspace [
[WARN] Timer-2 com.hyperion.analyzer.utils.general.HYAUtil - ."
I am very sure it had something to do with rights/ permissions, but also after playing around with IIS and ntfs permissions for hours I can't get SSO en WA both working at the same time.
As soon as I set my workspace aplication in IIS on windows integrated, the SSO is working but as soon as a I restart the WA service it fails to start. When I set the workspace application IIS on anonymous the WA service start fine but then the SSO is not working anymore.
It drives me crazy.
Hopefully its a small matter for you to solve!
Thanks in advance.Dont know exactly whats happened but I presume something went wrong during the update procedure.
If you will be not able to start the notebook in the safe mode or to boot the notebook then user the Toshiba recovery CD to gets the notebook working! -
I am experiencing problem (the installation does not start) when I try to install ArchiCAD 17 Educational on my mac. I am using Yosemite. How can I fix it?
You need to contact the developer/manufacturer directly to determine if their product is compatible w/Yosemite. It is not listed on their system requirement website:
Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks
Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion
Mac OS X 10.7 Lion
Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard*
Note: ArchiCAD 17 is the last version of ArchiCAD to support Mac OS X 10.6
Only case insensitive file-system volumes are supported.

-Xmx greater than 180M does not start jvm on a 2gb machine, why?
Hi, we have developed a product demo shown as an applet that uses the java plug-in to startup.
The demo requires high amount of memory so we modified the java plug-in -xms and -xmx values in the control panel so more memory is available to the applet. What we can not see is why using values higher than -Xmx187M the applet does not start launching an error message either in Explorer of Firefox telling it has been unable to load the jvm. Using the value of -Xmx180M the applet starts but the out of memory message is displayed very soon as the demo requires at least 700M.
We are using:
 JRE1.6_u02
 IE7. FireFox 2.0.0.7
 Computer: 2GB Ram, CoreDuo2.
Does any of you why this limitation in the maximum java heap size?
Thanks for your time and help.
Best Regards.I don't understand the logic for when it will error out on the -Xmx setting. One obvious idea leaps to my mind - because windows doesn't do it.
And googling would seem to support that. Search for "currently implemented up to" in the following.

I have a MacBook Pro early 2011. Does not start. After the apple show, a blank screen appear. The service said that the problem is with the video plaquue in the logic board. Need to change. Cost lmmost the same than a new MacBook Pro. Somebody has the same problem? What we can do?
I hate to break this to you, but life isn't fair. If your job is that critically in need of a computer, then you should have a spare to use for just this kind of situation or have your employer provide you with a computer to use.
Computers break down, just like cars. If your car breaks down do you curse the car maker or get it fixed? Surely, you paid more for your car than the computer.
This is reality. Best get used to it because it won't get any better. -
Message bean does not start automatically during application server startup
I have a message bean that does not start up during application server startup. I am able to successfully start the application manually using the visual admin tool.I searched the logs and found the following error. The error references the "QueueConnectionFactory" is not deployed or is not started. I have check and the "QueueConnectiopnFactory" is deployed. Is this a problem with the application trying to start before the "QueueConnectionFactory"? Is thier a way to define a dependency on my application not to start until the "QueueConnectionFactory" has been started, if so can how would I define this dependency. Please provide and example.
Thanks,
Bill

I've could change that yes, but the startup script doesn't seemed to have this mind.

Firefox does not start up after an automatic update. Every time i try to open it, it just prompts the Mozilla Crash Reporter.

Same thing happens when i click restart.
No difference when i run it in Safe mode. And it won't let me create a new profile either. Is there anyway else i can extract my bookmarks? This is driving me crazy!Did the crash reporter send any crash reports?<br />
You can see the crash reports in this folder:
"C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports"
See: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Breakpad
See also [[Firefox crashes when you open it]]
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.<br /><br />
See [[Basic Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile|Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile]]<br /><br />
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"<br /><br />
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)<br /><br />
See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox<br /><br />
If that still causes the same problem then do a clean reinstall and remove the Firefox program folder.
* Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Don't remove personal data when uninstalling.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
See:
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Clean_reinstall -
Just installed Firefox 3.6. Firefox will not start and Firefox safemode does not start either. Using Task manager I do not see if started either. If I create a new profile and start from that window, Firefox starts up. I see no error windows/messages. I do have it listed in my Firewall as an exception program with Permit All. What is happening?
