Hi Michael, Thank you so much for the reply. You would think Adobe Support could have told me that so I really appreciate it. Do you know what I need to do to upgrade it ? Can I find an upgrade on E-Bay or do I need to go to COMP USA or some other place to buy the upgrade? Last, what exactly am I looking for to upgrade it to the newest version. (Name of product). I will also remove the other program so it won't have any other issues once I get the upgrade. Thanks again and God Bless, Tony

  • Error message after installing Acrobat 8.1 in Vista

I bought the Technical Communication Suite in June 2008, and installed it on my old computer, which was Windows XP.
Now my old computer has died, and I just bought a new Dell Studio with Windows Vista 64 bit. So now I'm trying to install in the new computer. I turned off my virus protection software, and then installed FrameMaker and Acrobat.
I received several FrameMaker errors which are now resolved, but I still have the following Acrobat error.
When I open a pdf file, I get a warning that says "A part of the Capture 3d plug-in has been damaged. To fix it you will need to repair the installation of Acrobat. This may have been a result of an anti-spyware application modifying the system's registry"
That doesn't make sense to me because I had turned off my virus protection before starting the install. I also tried rebooting at various times, but still get that message. However, I AM able to create pdf files, so I'm not sure if they're damaged in some way that I can't see. But even if they're OK, I certainly don't want to see that error message every time I create a pdf.
    Any ideas?

Thanks Bill. Sorry it took me so long to reply - today was my first chance to play with your suggestions.
Unfortunately I still have the error message about 3D not installing correctly. I did several updates to Acrobat 8, getting up to 8.1.6. Then I found an update for Acrobat 9 for VISTA 64 bit (which is what I have) so I tried that too. Still no luck getting rid of the error message.
I don't think the error message is causing any trouble because my pdfs seem fine, and I don't use the 3D functionalitiy. I thought that maybe I could just disable the 3D functionality, but I can't find a way to do that. Any ideas?

    CutePDF Writer http://www.

    Muchas gracias y saludos, paulina

  • Acrobat 8 std on Vista SP2

i am trying to install acrobat 8 standard on vista with Service pack 2. I have and install of 8.1.5 that works but I cannot update to 8.1.6 with the patch, It says you have to have product installed that applies to the upgrade. I get the same error when I start with 8.0 nS INARll the 6 patches to bring it up to date. Basically none of the patches will install on Vista with service pack 2. Any help or ideas??

Check the about message in HELP just to be sure you have 8.1.5 installed. I have installed up through 8.1.6 Pro with no problem on VISTA, SP2.

  • Error Message During Vista Install W/ Bootcamp

I crashed my original vista installation, so I am trying to get it up and running again. After deleting the old partition and creating a new one with BCA in Leopard, I get this error message during vista installation
Windows cannot install required files. The file does not exist. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and then restart installation. Error Code: 0x80070005
I thought maybe it was My Vista DVD, so I borrowed a friends, and it did the same thing. This is on a Macbook PRO purchased a little over a month ago.
Please HELP! I need my vista installation up and running for work!

"but when detecting hard drives, nothing shows up in the list."
I don't really understand that statement as without any drives showing up how were you able to even start the install?
At any rate, during your first installment, the one that succeded, do you remember which partition it was that you Formated with the windows installer? When you use Boot Camp to partition and install the windows os, BC sets the volume name to BOOTCAMP. As far as I know this is the one that you must use for your windows os. Before you can install windows though, you must use the windows installer to format it to NTFS <----- the format type depends on a at least a few conditions, the one that I can remember is partition size. I believe 32G and above it HAS to be NTFS. But my point is, if you try and use any other partition that might come up on your list besides the one that BC made for you, it will probably error out (if you even get anywhere at all with it). Do you know FOR SURE that you chose the correct partition to format? This is the only other possibility that I can come up with at the present time.

What email client are you using?  Are the Acrobat preferences configured to use that email client?  Is it running when you try to send that document?

  • Using an Osprey 100 card with Acrobat Connect Pro and Vista

Intrigued by a comment I saw on another forum, I tried setting each of the EXE files associated with an Osprey 100 card install in Vista to run in compatability mode for XP SP2, and my Osprey card analog inputs started working (at LAST!!) with Acrobat Connect Pro in Vista. This lets me attach VCRs/DVDs or any device with analog outputs to Acrobat Connect Pro without having to buy a new generation of Osprey or other Vista compatible analog capture cards.
    Perhaps this will help someone.

I believe I figured it was somewhere between Flash 5 and Flash 6. I say this because while the resulting presentations could be opened in QuickTime (which only uses Flash 5) a better result would be achieved by viewing in the browser. Either that, or QuickTime's Flash 5 support isn't complete.

  • Acrobat error 130:11

What is the Acrobat error 130:11? it says there is a problem with my creative cloud license. I just started and paid for my subscription and it has been working fine since I installed it one week ago.

It only took me a day to experience the same issue. I'm taking the same, long, unistall and reinstall tack to try and fix it again. This time I also uninstalled Acrobat Reader X figuring maybe there are some shared registry entries that may get reset on this new install. The download is taking forever compared to yesterday's effort. By the way, why can't the Application Manager invoke uninstallation? It's not much of a "manager" since it only appears to do installs. Again the install failed, this time I'm capturing details which follow:

  • Updating to Acrobat Pro 7.1.0  Solution to error 1304 in Vista

I have spent considerable time finding a solution to this problem and thought I'd post a new message with the solution.
Sometimes it is very difficult to find real solutions on this site, and "you must fork out megabucks for a new CSx version because we won't make this one compatible in the update.." is not fair nor acceptable. This is a permissions issue and Acrobat does not have the credentials to access the folder it wants to write to. I have had this same issue and have the solution as follows.
Vista protects you by not letting just any program or installer package do whatever it wants. That's why the user 'SYSTEM' does not have the privilege to change what the install wants to do and therefore you get the error and it kicks you to the curb. What you need to do is activate the ADMINISTRATOR account (which is disabled by default) and assign it a password, change ownership of the Adobe Acrobat 7.0 folder to administrator (it's SYSTEM by default), log on as administrator, let the install complete, then log back on as your normal user and undo the account and ownership manipulations. Note that the ownership ONLY needs to be changed on the Acrobat folder.. I have seen other posts that tell you to change the whole Adobe folder, and an article from the Adobe KB telling you to change it on both the Program Files and ProgramData folders, and neither are necessary, nor do they tell you to undo what you did, leaving your system open and vulnerable to other threats.
    Solution Steps:
    1. Right click Computer on your desktop or in the start menu, choose Manage, and ok the user account control (UAC) prompt. Computer management opens.
    2. Expand Local Users and Groups and click Users. Users are shown on the right. Right click Administrator and choose properties. Uncheck the box "Account is disabled" and click OK. Right click administrator and choose "set password", click proceed. Enter any password (this will be undone when finished) and click OK. A password must be set else you cannot log on. Close computer mgt.
    3. Open Computer and browse to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat 7.0. Right click the Acrobat folder and choose properties. Click the security tab, then the advanced button at bottom, in the adv security settings, click the owner tab. You will see the current owner is SYSTEM. Click edit at the bottom and ok the UAC prompt. Click 'other users or groups', then advanced in the next box. Click 'find now', highlight administrator user (not administratorS group) and OK, then OK again. Now the user administrator is listed in the 'change owner to' list. Highlight administrator and click OK, a message about changing ownership will pop up, just ok it. Ok all the property boxes and close Computer browser.
    4. Go to the start menu and log off. You will now see your normal users listed with the administrator user also. Click the administrator user and log in with the password. Acrobat will try to finish it's install.. the error 1304 will not occur because you now have access to the location it wants.. the install completes. Log off and log back on as your normal user.
    5. To undo your changes, just reverse the steps, changing ownership of the Adobe Acrobat folder back to SYSTEM. The administrator account has no password by default.. to remove the password, just leave the password fields blank and click ok and it will be 'no password'. Then disable the administrator account and everything is back to the way you started, with Acrobat updated and no more error.
Seems long, but not really that bad, I just put in every little step for the tech-unsavvy.

  • Acrobat 7.0 Pro error message in Vista Ultimate..missing printer driver

I use to have Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional installed on my other computer with had XP Pro as its operating system. I could convert any Word 2003 document into a PDF and e-mail it without any problems. I just purchased a new computer with Vista Ultimate 64 bit and every time I try to convert a Word document into a PDF I get an error message that says it can't find the printer driver and to please re-install Acrobat. I did what it said and I keep getting the same error message. I even installed the newest Adobe Reader like it said. I know my printer driver works. Does anyone have a solution? It seems all the money you spend on Adobe products their support staff just wants to wash their hands and send you on some wild goose chase looking for answers on their un-user friendly site instead of answering the question or making any recommendations. If I have to update it so be it. They should have told me that. This is the last time I will fork over $600 on any of their products because their service stinks. I appreciate any help from anyone who has experienced this same problem or who knows how to rectify it. God Bless, Tony

  • Error 1321  Warning 20225 (On Vista)

    Hi,
I have just installed Adobe creative suite 2 Premium - this product had previously been installed on a laptop and had been legally taken off and moved to the pc.
All seems well except I have the two error messages 1321 - the installer has insufficient privileges to modify acropdf.dll and warning 20225 unable to create pdf port& printer. I cannot ready any pdf files at the moment so this is a large problem. Any ideas?

If you can get AA6 to work on VISTA at all, it will only probably work by printing to file with the Adobe PDF printer. Then open the file in Distiller to complete the process. You could probably change the port used by the Adobe PDF printer to just be a file and then be able to use PDF Maker also. There is a possibility you will not be able to get AA6 to work at all. The first product to be certified for VISTA is AA8.1. Thus, do not bother calling Adobe about AA6 problems. They will simply tell you to upgrade and not talk to you further.
A few folks have apparently gotten AA7 to work on VISTA. I am not sure how successful they have been with the functionality, but with AA6 I have my doubts.
