My OS is Vista Home Premium.
I had Master collection CS4 installed.
When starting up acrobat reader; i got following error:
    failed to load core dll.
I went to the log and this is the explenatoin written in there: (i'm dutch speaking)

I simultaneously had a problem with Dreamweaver.
I think all this is caused by an Side By Side configuration issue.
I've tried to do following steps:
    -redistibrutable 2008 c++ package geinstall
    -system recoverage tool
    -reinstall cs4 master collection
-uninstall master collection, clean up, install reeware acrobat reader
-uninstall acrobat reader, ccleaner register issues resolver , also older than 24 uur , reboot,  install acrobat reader freeware
-revo uninstall tool to remove acrobat
none of the above actions were successful.
What could u suggest or give as a solution.
Atm i'm using an altarnative pdf-reader.
But as i bought the master collection,
i'd rather have my adobe acrobat reader pro and dreamweaver working.
    Thanks in advance,
    With friendly regards
    Anton

    Hi Anton
I am sorry, I do not have an answer just a similar problem.
I am no expert, but all these manifest files are to ensure that different developers can ensure that the appropriate versions of common libraries are used by particular versions of their software.
Deatils are below. The original problem was a corrupted manifest file, probably due to a disk error. This resulted in several programs failing to run. In particular I was unable to access backup on my Windows Home Server. From the logs I was able to identify the manifest file in error and located a copy of a file with the same name on another of my computers. Using notepad I then changed the file causing the problem to match the file on the other computer.
This appeared to resolve all my problems.
When the Acrobat Reader updated itself, however, the"failed to load core DLL" message appeared. Simply uninstalling all adobe programs and re-installing makes no difference.
If you have the solution please post.
If not, I will continue to research this problem.
    Very best wishes
    Graham

  • Acrobat fatal error 1603: a fatal error occurred during installation

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with all the latest updates.
I have Acrobat XI standard installed. The updates fail.
    I have tried everything:
    Uninstalled Acrobat
    Run the Acrobat cleaner
    Removed all temporary files
    Installed the latest .net software
    Reinstalled as the administrator
Nothing seems to make a difference
    Any and all assistance appreciated.

Thanks for getting back to me. I have done all of this. I have run the cleaner tool and I have tried downloading and installing, even doing it release by release and it still doesn’t work, it still gives me the same error. I have Acrobat stand alone, although I do have both reader, Adobe Production Premium CS6 and a couple of other things installed. So I didn’t uninstall everything from Adobe, I just ran the standalone uninstaller for Acrobat and  Reader. But I have uninstalled, cleaned, removed temporary files, installed the latest .net version, and installed as the administrator. None of this has helped. Do you have any other suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Dave

  • Acrobat Fatal Error Message- Acrobat Failed to Send a DDE Command

Any ideas what could be causing this?  I have Acrobat 9 Standard and it worked fine until today.  TIA

AA 9 will not work for anything but the print function from WORD 2010. The only version of Acrobat that is compatible with OFFICE 2010 for PDF Maker is AA X. Thus, open WORD and print to the Adobe PDF printer. Then open the pdf in Acrobat. Go to FORMS>Add or Edit fields. Since you have no fields at present, Acrobat will ask if you would like to detect form fields. Answer yes and you will get a first cut at the form fields. Yes, you will likely have to add some more and change the ones that Acrobat estimates, but you are on your way.
The other two options you have is to go back to WORD 2007 or earlier or upgrade to AA X (or find someone with AA X and WORD 2010). These methods are pretty much your options with the software combination that you have.

  • Fatal Error Acrobat failed to send a DDE command

Hello all.  I have a fillable form I developed using word 2010.  I am trying to convert it to a PDF form.  I open acrobat and select star from wizard from the Forms menu.  I browse to find the word document and open it.  I save the PDF document and everything looks good.  I get a progress bar that says "Please wait, reading Adobe PDF".  This is very slow progress and then I get the Fatal Error message "Acrobat Failed to send a DDE command".  I click ok and the progress bar continues still very slowly.  I get the same message again.  I click ok and the progress bar continues.  The progress bar gets to the end and just stays there.  Nothing happens.  I waited for an hour and then cancelled it. When clicked cancel, the PDF document opens with my form but without any fillable fields or drop down menus.  I tried to do it again a few times and I get the same error message.   I am using Adobe Acrobat 9 pro version 9.4.2.  Thank you in advance for your help.

  • Fatal error distributing forms with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro

Fatal error distributing forms with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.
    I click
    "Adobe Acrobat Pro/Formularer/Distribuer formularer/"
    ("Adobe Acrobat Pro/Forms/Distribute forms/")
and chose a form for distribution and in the picture "Distribute Form" chose
"Automatically download & organize responsees with Acrobat.com".
I then click "Next" and write an email-address to send it to (i.g. to my own)
    and then click "Send".
    The program quickly writes
    "Authenticating email-addresses"
and then gives the following error message
"Borland Database er ikke installeret. Kan ikke indlæse tjenesteudbyder af Corel-adressekartotetek."
("Borland Database is not installed. Can not read load service provider of Corel address directory.")
When I clik "OK" I get the error message
"Adobe Acrobat has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I have undeleted and reinstalled Adobe Acrobat many times without any effect.
The same procedure has been tried on another computer without any problem.

  • Acrobat 7.1.0 update halted by fatal error; how to uninstall?

I've been running Acrobat 7.0.9 on Windows XP with no problems. I just tried to install the 7.1.0 update. When I told it OK to reboot, I got a fatal error in the installation. I rebooted manually, and then got the same fatal error.
My PDF files now have no associated program. If I go directly to the acrobat.exe file and try to run it, I get a fatal error.
How can I uninstall the update, or else make it finish? Any idea what would cause this?

Hello, just found this thread - I did download and install the Acrobat Professional 7.1.0 update yesterday (as part of my troubleshooting for another problem I posted about), and it went fine for me, and now my About screen in Acrobat says I'm on ver. 7.1.0.
    XP pro operating system.
Not sure what this means in light of the other posts on this topic, but I thought I'd mention it in case it helps.

  • Acrobat 8.1.2 Standard fatal error when viewing header

When I try to view Document - Header & Footer the program will draw the editing window and then has a fatal error which says "Acrobat 8.1 has encountered a problem and needs to close". There is the opportunity to send this info to Microsoft. This also happens when using the Document - Background or Watermark menus. All other parts of the program seem OK.
I've tried the Repair feature, no difference.
    Any clues?
Oddly, it works fine on a Win Vista machine, but not on a Win XP SP3 machine.
    Thanks GSpence

Cure seems to be to replace the newest version of ADMplugin.apl with the version contained in the original package as referenced in the thread 'Acrobat 8.1 Always Crashes with "admplugin.apl" reference??'.
    This works! GS

    Hi Guys,
I had the same problems as the ones you stated above. Tried EVERYTHING ! lol Install / Uninstall with removal of all Adobe physically related files, cleaned the registry... To no avail.... Untill....
    I found the solution !!!!
The problem is definitely related to the "admplugin.apl" file. For some reason it seems to be corrupted in the 8.1.x updates. Simply find the file in the original 8.0 Professional package (should be in the "Data1.cab" file) and simply copy over the newer file (in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Acrobat\SPPlugins ).
Everything should be working well after that (I couldn't have access to "Preferences", "Optimize", "Reduce File Size" even "Search"). I now have a fully fonctional version.
Hope this post will help out !
    Cheers !

  • Adobe Reader 9.1 - Fatal Error : Acrobat failed to connect a DDE server

    Hi Everyone,
I have some users telling me that when they try to open a pdf attachment in Outlook 2007. Nothing happens. The system just sits there as if you did not click on the attachment. If you wait long enought a popup box from adobe reader comes up and says:
    Fatal Error
Acrobat failed to connect a DDE server.
All the PDFs are very simple, just simple scanned images or converted over from a document into a PDF.
I've tried repairing the install and still had no luck - same behaviour. The only way the pdf opens is if we go into task manager and close the AcroRd32.exe process or logoff and log back in.
If it helps, the most recent system change was the upgrade to IE7 and a new anti-virus software.
    Thanks,
    KEvin

No solution I am afraid but same problem, running full version of AVG and problem hit immediately after Adobe Reader 9.1 upgrade.  Pretty darn sure problem is in the upgrade but the relevant Restore Point was overwritten before I figured it out.  Any advice welcome.

    Hallo zusammen.

    Exchange 2010

    Fatal Error
Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE server.
