Acrobat Form Fill Fields - Can you specify a font?

I am using the new feature of InDesign CS6 that allows creation of form fields for PDFs. After exporting the page to PDF via the interactive setup dialog [command+E 'Adobe PDF (interactive)] I'll inspect the finished PDF in Acrobat 9. Everything looks as it should, except that when I type in some sample text in a text field, it uses Times Roman as the font. I would like it to use Arial regular.
I can't find any way to specify a font for these form fields in InDesign CS6. This particular project involves quite a large number of files - so I'd rather avoid a process that requires me to go in to Acrobat and 'tweak' each PDF, changing the font in the properties dialog of each field to the Arial.
Is there a way to set the font of a form field directly in InDesign? I've looked around and can't find a menu or dialog that addresses this.
Thanks in advance for any help.

You can edit the typeface used in your text fields in Adobe Acrobat Pro. Create your form with all the appropriate text fields you would like in InDesign CS6 then:
export your form from InDesign CS6 as an interactive PDF
open your file in Adobe Acrobat Pro
Click "TOOLS" on the right hand side (next to sign and comment)
Click "INTERACTIVE OBJECTS"
Click "SELECT OBJECT"
Then select all or any text fields you would like to changeif selected the text field should appear blue, not red, as well as displaying the description (if you assigned one while creating your form in InDesign)
Once selected RIGHT CICK (if using a MAC or mouse without a right click button press crtl + click your mouse)
a pop-up should appear and the at the top of the list you will see PROPERTIES
click properties and go to APPEARANCE
under the TEXT section you will see options to alter your text fields designated typeface, color and size
NOTE: I believe if the user filling out the form does not have the typeface you assigned to the text field(s) it will default to New Times Roman

  • Can you specify third party JMS Provider in Weblogic appserver configuration

              Can you specify third party JMS Provider in Weblogic appserver configuration ???
              Only place i know of is that you can specify third party JMS Provider in MDB configuraion.
              DOES Weblogic has some kind of configuration files where you specify JMS Provider
              info (Like you can do that in JBOSS)

    You can also specify a third-party JMS provider using the Messaging Bridge,
              which transfers messages from one queue or topic to another.
              And in general, inside WLS you can use any JMS provider you wish anywhere
              that you can also use WLS JMS. In an upcoming release, there will also be
              some support to make foreign JMS providers a little easier to configure.
              But why would you want to use another JMS provider anyway? ;-)

  • How can you change the font size in the application and system headers?

    How can you change the font size in the application and system headers?  I searched the system and finder prefs to no avail.  Changing the screen density is not a good option.
    Thanks

    I downloaded Tinkertool.  Found the font section and increased the size of most selections.  The only thing that changed that I can see is the window label.  The apple line, bookmarks line, the tool bar in safari are all the same---font size of about 4.  Found the finder "show view options" but that didn't seem to change anything either.  I'll keep working.  Restarted all apps after changes as well.

  • Can you increase the fonts for your iphone 5s

    I can increase the fonts for my email and texts but can you increase the fonts for everything on your iphone, example apps

    If by "for the Apps" you mean the app labels? No. But you might try experimenting with Accessibility settings to see if you can acheive something that will help. As for the size of text within an app, that would depend on whether the app provides that configuration setting.

  • Acrobat Form Fill – Document Closing Validation

    Can someone help me with this. I want to set a form field empty validation in set document actions when a document closes. Basically wanting some entry level custom data validation.
    For example Form has 20 fields, I want 3 of them say name1, occupation1 and age1 to produce a JavaScript alert if they are empty.
    So if all three are empty it will say
    Please complete Name, occupation and age fields
    If only name is empty it will then only say
    Please complete name field
    Can someone point me to or list the javascript code on how to do this? At the moment I am just using a general app.alert type reminder when the document closes.Trying to smarten things up a bit.

    I see. You can use this code, then. I made a slight change to the format of the error message to make it easier to generate:
    var fields = ["name1", "occupation1", "age1"]; // The actual field names
    var descriptions = ["Name", "Occupation", "Age"]; // The user-friendly names for these fields
    var missingFields = [];
    for (var i in fields) {
        if (this.getField(fields[i]).valueAsString=="") {
            missingFields.push(descriptions[i]);
    if (missingFields.length!=0) {
        app.alert("Please complete the following fields: " + missingFields.join(", "), 1);

  • Can you specify the full path to jar in archive_jini

    can you put the full path to the client.jar file in the formsweb.cfg archive_jini parameter? like this:
    archive_jini=d:\something\somethingelse\client.jar
    or does it have to exist under %ORACLE_HOME%\forms\java ?

    None of the two. The path path is a relative web-url, for the content of archive_jni will be placed in the generated html which is "executed" by the users browser. So you either place your jar in $ORACLE_HOME/forms/java and put it without any path in the archive_jni-tag, or (more appreciated by myself), create a virtual directory (either by alias or by orion-web.xml) in your oas and place the jar in the according phycial path.

  • Can you specify multiple remote (live) servers?

    I have designated one server for testing but we have multiple live servers for load balancing.
    How can I specify a total of 3 remote servers or more?

    Hi,
    You can add multiple remote server from the site setup dialog. This dialog can be accessed through the menu File > Manage sites. This will launch manage sites dialog. Choose your site and in the server category, add as many remote servers you want to. But you can choose only one server at a time.
    Thanks,

  • Can you specify the allowable values for vertical range and offset for the NI 5112 PCI Digitizer?

    The NI 5112 manual indicates that the vertical range can be set from +/- 25mV to +/-25V in 10% steps. Can you explain exactly what this means? (For example, could you give me a series of allowable values.)
    Also, what are the allowable values for voltage offset?
    The reason for my question is: I am specifying the vertical configuration using the niScope_ConfigureVertical() function. The observed raw (8 bit) sampling does not appear to change at all for small changes in voltage range and offset. I would like to know where the hardware breakpoints are, so that I can apply correct scaling from bits to voltage.
    In addition, I have tried to use the niScope_CheckAt
    tributeViReal64() function to "check" a value before applying it to NISCOPE_ATTR_VERTICAL_RANGE or NISCOPE_ATTR_VERTICAL_OFFSET, but it fails in the linking step in Microsoft Dev. Studio. (niScope.lib & niscope_32.lib do not seem to contain any of the CheckAttribute functions that are listed in the NI-Scope function reference.)
    Thank you for your response.

    There is a nice reference at:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/3efedde4322fef19862567740067f3cc/38f18d418e2433ed8625690e006bbe94?OpenDocument
    which explains that allowable voltage ranges can be expressed by the equation:
    next_range_value = range_value * 1.1 starting at +/- 25 mV.
    When a range is specified that does not match this series, the device driver rounds UP to the next value.

  • Can you change bookmark font size?

    I assume it is not possible to change the font size of bookmarks because under Properties you can alter the font style and color but not size. But I wanted to ask in case I'm missing something.
    I'm using Acrobat Pro 11, Mac OSX.

    You can, actually, more or less. Click the Option button at the top of the Bookmarks panel and you'll see a sub-menu called Text Size there, with 3 options: Small, Medium (the default) and Large.

  • Can you specify ink trapping for a PDF document within Acrobat Professional, after a PDF has been cr

    (File > Properties > Advanced > Trapped)
    In other words, does this specification really change the ink trapping of the PDF, or does it just change a document information metadata tag?
    Or, does ink trapping have to be specified when the PDF is created, in the application that creates the PDF?

    Your assumption is correct. That field entry will not affect or perform trapping.
    Trapping does not have to be performed by the authoring program. Better results are obtained via the RIP/software/system processing the image data.

  • Highlighting fields in response to form filler interaction, can't figure out

    I have figured out how to highlight a field when a check box is clicked on however, I cannot get it to remove the highlight when the check box is unclicked?
    this is what I used for the highlight:
    Subform1.fieldname.fillColor="255,255,0"

    It should be much the same ... if the code was in the click event of the check box and the off colour was white then;
    if
    (Subform1.fieldname.rawValue == 0)Subform1.fieldname.fillColor
    = "255,255,255"
    elseSubform1.fieldname.fillColor= "255,255,0"

  • Can you specify a Collection as a inputHidden value?

    I am trying to set an inputHidden field to a List in a JSF Facelets page. However the list is always set to null in the backing bean after the page is submitted.
    Code:
         <h:inputHidden value="#{controllerObj['ttyList']}" />
         <h:inputHidden value="#{controllerObj['emailList']}" />
    </a4j:form>
    Can a inputHidden field be used to hold a Collection such as an ArrayList?
    Thanks in Advance?

    Glad you fixed it.
    Though, for future reference I would add some more background information:
    The HTML response isn't anything else than one big String (a big character array). Also the HTTP request parameters can't contain anything else than Strings. Before writing to the response stream, all non-String typed objects are forced to their string representation using Object#toString().
    JSF is smart enough to convert (coerce) between String and Number/Boolean itself, but for other object types, such as List, you'll have to implement and specify a javax.faces.convert.Converter. In the getAsObject() method you write logic to convert from String to List (or any other object type). In the getAsString() method you write logic to convert from List (or any other object type) to String. Finally define this converter in the faces-config.xml. You can use the <converter-for-class> entry to do it 'transparently' in all JSF pages, you can also use <converter-id> entry to define the converter in the associated UIInput component yourself using the converterId attribute or the f:converter facet.

  • Acrobat form broke field into 2 separate fields and tabbed it wrong

    I created a pdf form from a word doc.  The form looks great with a couple of exceptions.  One of the fields had four buttons.  Adobe split that field into two fields and tabbed it wrong.  It has tabbed it 4,4 and 5,5, instead of 4, 5, 6, 7, as it sees it as two different fields.  I have tried to move the tabs up on the right (edit) side of the screen but they will not move.  I don't know if this is because they are two fields now.  I have tried everything I can think of and nothing works.  I am new to this and scrambling to get this form turned around to my boss.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Deb

    Thank you...I have been sitting here all morning working on it again and realized there was a way to do it manually that didn't require dragging and dropping the tabs....which it will not do.  Yikes!  Thank you for your response.
    Now I have realized there is a problem with the word doc in another field.  The spacing for a telephone number is wrong.  Is there anyway to change it in the form or do I have to go back to the word doc, fix it, then re-import it?  My desire to not do this is because I have to take it back to the original word doc and then when I re-import it, it obviously won't have all these changes I have just made.
