Acrobat in eLearning Suite 2

The website says that Acrobat Pro 9 in included in e Learning Suite 2.  Is it embedded somewhere?  I can't see it as a standalone.  I am running the trial now, but plan to get a license and Acrobat Pro was one of the things that we wanted.  Thanks.

I believe the "trial" does not include Acrobat.
However, should you purchase the suite and have it delivered on CD/DVD all applications should be present.
Be well...

  • PROBLEM Acrobat X Suite upgrade to eLearning Suite 6.1

I am a user of Acrobat X Suite.  I just purchased the eLearning Suite 6.1 upgrade for $599, as offered at:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/elearningsuite/buying-guide.displayTab2.html
I left Acrobat X Suite installed, assuming that the eLeraning Suite needed to see it for the upgrade.
When I go to install the eLearning Suite, it asks for my serial number.  I enter the new serial number that was emailed to me for my eLearning Suite purchase.
It then opens a windows titled "Serial Number Upgrade", which states the following:
"Serial Number you provided is valid, but a qualifying product could not be found on this computer".
"To use this serial number you must own one of the qualifying products.  Please choose the one you own and enter its serial number."
The window provides you with a drop down box that lists elegible products that you can use the eLeraning Suite upgrade with, and a place to enter your old serial number.
THE PROBLEM IS THAT ACROBAT X SUITE is  NOT listed in the list of products!!!!!
It appears to me that Adobe Sales/Marketing is NOT communicating with their Engineering Department on the products they offer for upgrades.
HELP! What can I do!  Its a Saturday night and Adobe customer support does not open until Monday.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

    Mylenium,
I'm having a similar problem.  I'm upgrading from elearning suite 2.5 to 6.1, subscription, not an outright purchase.
I am able to download the installer correctly and unpack all the necessary files, directories are created, etc...  BUT, when I get the message listing all the modules that are going to be installed.  The installer tells me Acrobat Pro XI will be installed as a trial version, then the installer goes on and does what it says it will.
All the modules install correctly and are verified on the Adobe web site.  Alas Acrobat Pro XI will not verify as part of the subscription, and the serial number provided for the subscription, on the Adobe web site, will not activate Acrobat Pro XI, which doesn't suprise me.
I've been in contact with both customer sepport and technical support, over 12 days and about 9 hours of my time.  going round and round within multiple departments with multiple support personnel.  Still no solution.  But finally I got a single point of contact and an email address so I could ignore all the calls and emails I was getting on this issure, all asking me to start again from the begining.  Finally this support individual has been able to replicate the problem on their machines.  So some progress has been made.  But ........
I understand that Adobe want to figure out what is going on, but my need is different, I just need to get the software registered so I can move on.  At my billing rate, I've probably spent $1,800 working with Adobe, as opposed to working with my clients, when all they need to do for me, is give me a valid serial number for Acrobat Pro XI, then when they, on their time, figure out what is going on, send me a patch.  Then we can all be happy
As a tech support professional for over 20 years, in my company, I always have an escelation path for issues such as this, the objective is always to keep the customer happy, something I have NEVER experienced with Adobe Support.
Any thoughts on how one resolves an issue such as mine within Adobe?
As I've said to anyone who will listen, if (and when) a vendor bundels all the elearning needs I have, such as Adobe has done, I will switch in a minute.  Over the long years I've worked with Adobe products, this type of support experience has been the norm, not the exception.
I really like your products, but your support really really really sucks.

  • ELearning Suite 2 missing Acrobat Pro on install

    Hello,
I bought eLearning Suite 2 in January 2011. It stated that it included Acrobat 9 Pro.
I now need to use Acrobat Pro but it is not installed. I have tried to re-install eLearning Suite 2 but the Acrobat Pro product is not an option for install.
I did not get eLearning Suite 2 delivered on a DVD, I downloaded it.
Does anyone know how I can get Acrobat Pro as it should have been included in my purchase.
    thanks,
    Emily Lawrence

It probably was a separate installer that you never downloaded. Check your account or try this: Direct Download Links for Adobe Software.

  • Elearning suite and Acrobat Pro, the saga with Adobe continues

I just purchased 6.1 AFTER talking to sales about this specific issue of what version of Acrobat I would get with the 6.1 suite, and being assured that it would be Pro XI, and after spending about 6 hours over 2 days on both chat and the phone being bounces from person to person, I finally discovered that only Acrobat X was being packaged with the elearning suite 6.1.
I'm fit to be tied!  every time I have some question about an Adobe product, it takes days for resolve, and generally I have to figure it out myself, then I get the Adobe line, sorry we can't help.  If there was a competing suite, I'd drop Adobe in a flash.
Does anyone else have this type of problem?  Or am I an outlier?

If you did not receive Pro XI I suggest you contact Adobe support. They are advertising that Pro XI is included (http://www.adobe.com/products/elearningsuite.edu.html).

  • Unable to install Adobe elearning suite 1.0 in windows 7 pro environment

I have spent two days trying to re-install my elearning suite 1.0 on a new computer.  I have called Adobe support three times.  The first time I got cut off after 25 minutes on line.  The second time I got cut off after 40 minutes on line.  On the third try, after over an HOUR on hold, I made it to a person and I told her my problem.  She was quiet for a second or two and then I heard the dial tone.  If anyone from Adobe support is lurking on this forum, shame on you.
I purchased the very expensive Adobe ELearning Suite 1.0 less than a year ago and installed in on my Windows XP Thinkpad machine.  It was a painful install.  I use Adobe Presenter 7 and Adobe Acrobat Pro.  Thats it.  Nothing else.
Unfortunately, my Thinkpad died and I have purchasaed a new Thinkpad -- a W510 Windows 7 Pro and 4 g ram.  Should not be an issue.
It will not even get past the starting gate.  I get an auto lang error and then conversion data file.
When I the error I see a similar error for a different product, however the error is for a language mismatch between the operationg system and adobe.  This is not my problem.  I have verified that both products are same language -- jeeze, English.
At this point the only option I can see if to purchase the very expensive Adobe elearning suite 2 -- but guess what?  It too comes with Adobe Presenter 7.  Why should I have to pay another 1000 for the same thing I already own.
Has anyone else had this issue who might be able to provide advice?  At this point I am so frustrated and irritated by Adobe I could scream.
I would also be very receptive of recommendations for a replacement for Presenter --
    Very kind regards,
    Stephanie D

  • Crashing Photoshop CS5, other programs in Adobe Elearning Suite working fine

    Hi,
I really need some help. I have tried troubleshooting, updating, reinstalling all to no avail.
After a long time of having no problems, I cannot get Photoshop CS5 to work, neither the 32 or 64 versions. I get the same error everytime: right after the splash screen and after the software opens, I get a non descriptive error and windows shuts the software down. The error is: "An unexpected and unrecoverable probelm has occured. Photoshop will now exit."  The event viewer indicates it is the MSVCR90.dll but I have read that is just generic. The event viewer says this: "
Faulting application name: Photoshop.exe, version: 12.0.4.0, time stamp: 0x4d9d8f8e
Faulting module name: MSVCR90.dll, version: 9.0.30729.6161, time stamp: 0x4dace4e7"
I am on a windows 7 machine, totally current in all updates.
I have updated the adobe products as well. They all open fine (in the elearning suite: Captivate, Flash, Bridge, etc. Also I have Illustrator and Acrobat 9.0 which also open fine.).
Additionally I updated my Geoforce GTX 550 ti video card driver and the canon printer drivers.
I uninstalled a third party plug in (the only one I know of that I have installed) called "perfect resize" then reinstalled it, then updated it.
I uninstalled the elearning suite and reinstalled it, followed by updating the software again
I have uninstalled a 3D mouse I have and unplugged it (3dconnexion) but it was working fine for a long time and not used in photoshop.
I tried a few things listed on the Adobe forum to no avail (one person suggested disabling the scriptingsupport.8li, another suggested right clicking on the exe to open as administrator, another suggested trying to boot up in safe mode)
I have macfee on this machine and have scanned it for viruses, nothing was found
    None of this has worked.
Anyone else have a solution out there? Many thanks in advance.
PS I tried to "chat" with an adobe rep who eventually said that I couldn't get help from them since there are newer photoshops out now, the response was "I am sorry for your loss."

Also I seem to be having troubles with the updating software stalling out.
Any help on CS5 crashing and the solution would be greatly appeciated!

  • What's new in eLearning Suite 6.1

We bought eLS in late August 2012. At that time, Acrobat XI was not available. The Adobe eLearning Suite includes Acrobat. One would expect the latest version of the component applications to be included in the suite. Adobe seems to have released eLS 6 knowing Acrobat XI was not quite ready. That's fine. It does seem a little mercenary (in a wholly non-military way). I understand it is a business decision but it still seems a bit devious even if it was truly not intential. I can almost imagine two product managers discussing the matter and trying to make a reasonable decision. In our case, I would have preferred to have the product managers honor the recent purchases of eLS 6 which is packaged with Acrobat Pro and included the latest version of Acrobat.
I'll be interested to see if there is any discussion about this matter in our forums.
    Michael
P.S. This happened with eLS v2.5 last year when Acrobat X Pro came out shortly thereafter. Apparently they missed a significant revenue stream then as we got the update to Acrobat. I guess they didn't want to make the same decision in this pair of releases. Such is the plight of a product manger (or two) who have their lives evaluated on a 90-day cycle more than on a customer relationship foundation. After all, 10's of thousands of us are waiting in line to get the latest and apparently willing to pay the fees associated. I suppose software is an operating expense and not an acquistion (in the capital goods sense). It doesn't get depreciated since it's usefulness is not finite or specifically measurable. Sometimes the business world is ingenious, sometimes it is base and disengenuous.

there were probably some bugs fixed in some of the suite 6.1 programs.  it's a free update.

  • How to install eLearning Suite silently without the license agreement prompt

I was able to install the eLearning Suite 1.0 by following the guideline "How to install Captivate Silently".  I used the "setup --mode=silent --deploymentFile=install.xml" method, and that worked except one thing.  Adobe Air prompted for a License Agreement, and I also got a demo screen pop up.  How do I supress these two pop ups when using the silent mode setup?  I know how to do this for Captivate, but folder structures are different in eLearning Suite.
    Thanks.

    Bob,
Let me know if this summary is correct:
    1. If possible allways let Vista install apps in default directories.
    2. Adobe apps and their newer versions are by default installed in new directories (except for Acrobat). For example CS4 MC would be installed as a completely seperate entity from CS 3 MC. Another example, eLearning Suite 4 would be installed as a completely seperate entity from CS 3 MC. Therefore all settings in each newly installed application need to be set up. Does each application then have its own unique data directory structure?
    3. Since each Suite is a separate entity each license is seperate. This avoids cross license issues between different Suites.
    4. If a user allways wants the same (latest) version of an application to load then one must manually uninstall old versions in the other Suites.
For example, as a default install eLearning Suite 4 would be a completely seperate entity from CS 3 MC. The user would then delete the following older CS3 applications (as the newer versions are in eLearning Suite 4):
    Photoshop CS3 Extended
    Flash CS3 Professional
    Dreamweaver CS3
    Soundbooth CS3
Except for Acrobat as the default install would have updated the CS3 version.

  • ELearning Suite 2 - Presenter will not activate but the rest of the suite is activated?

In late December, I purchased eLearning Suite 2.  After many hours of setting up eLearning Suite 2 in Win 7/Office 2010 32-bit, I discovered that Presenter and Captivate do not render fonts well.  So, I built an XP partition and installed eLearning Suite 2.  I used it the next day with no problem and I was quite pleased with the font rendering.
Tonight, Presenter has flipped to "Trial" and will not accept the eLearning Suite's serial number.  I was using Photoshop at the same time and it was activated.  I then tried Captivate, it is activated.  So, why has Presenter decided that it does not want to remain activated?  I purchased the suite for Presenter and Captivate.  I own CS5 Master Collection, Acrobat X, and CS4 Web so I really did not need another copy of Acrobat, Dreamweaver, or Photoshop.  However, having all of the products that I needed in eLearning suite 2 came in handy in my XP build.  I do not have any of my other Adobe products installed on the XP partition.
    Any thoughts or solutions?

Please have a look at the following post, this might solve your issue

  • ELearning Suite 6.1 Subscription Problem

I purchased a subscription to eLearning Suite 6.1. The download included Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, but a trial version. Adobe says they are aware of the problem and are working on it. I was not given a target date for a solution.

I cannot remember the exact question that is asked when you are told that there are XX days remaining for the trial. It is something like --- do you want to continue with the trial or do you have a license? Tell it that you have a license. You will then be prompted to log in to your Adobe account. The software should then update to a full version using your Subscriber information.

  • OT: Adobe eLearning Suite 2.5 with my Production Premium Suite CS55

    Hey gang,
I already have the Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium suite but I realized I need Dreamweaver now.  I also would like Captivate (not available in other suites) and it seems I can upgrade from my current to suite to a "Adobe eLearning Suite 2.5" for $399 that has both programs and sounds reasonable to me.  That eLearning Suite has already a lot of the programs from my ProPro suite.   Will that cause any problems for installation when I buy it as a download or will it just know that I already have version of Photoshop,  Acrobat X etc... already installed.   Sorry, if this sounds dumb but I don't know how these two suites would interact.
    cheers,
    Peter

Here's the answer to add to the knowledge base on this group.
I bought/downloaded the eLearning Suite 2.5 and I tried to install it.   Of course it first asked for the suite serial # that worked, but then it asked for a serial # of a valid upgrade product.  One had to select a product from the list but the Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium was not in the list and my serial # from it did not work when entered with any other product.
When you go to click on the buy button for the eLearning Suite 2.5, it gives you option to upgrade with CS55 Pro Prem.  Though in the "Buying guide : Upgrade eligibility tab", the suite is not mentioned.    http://www.adobe.com/products/elearningsuite/buying-guide-new.displayTab2.html
Strangely enough, I did buy Photoshop CS2 separately a long time ago and that serial # was recognized as the upgrade product during the installation process.  I did not carry through with that installation because of these new impending "1 back" upgrade policies, so I phoned Adobe and they gave me a new serial # for the eLearning suite and I didn't require a secondary upgrade number.  8-)
During installation, it showed me a dialog box of things already installed  (i.e.  Photoshop, Audition).    Needless to say, everything is now installed and everything works like a charm.
The reason why I bought this suite is because I wanted Captivate and it is not in the Master Collection (I thought as an upgrade possibility) and I really need Dreamwaver as well.
    cheers,
    Peter

  • Switching Accounts from Creative Cloud to Captivate eLearning Suite

I have a membership with Creative Cloud and would like to add Captivate because I want to get into eLearning. Unfortunately that is not possible as far as I'm aware because Captivate is not available in Creative Cloud. So I'd like to switch my accounts from Creative Cloud to Captivate eLearning Suite 6.1. I don't want to keep both since it would duplicate the Adobe products I currently use, such as Photoshop, Flash, and Acrobat. Is it possible to switch my present account to Captivate eLearning Suite? Or do I need to cancel one, then sign-up for the other?

    Hi Dave,
    many thanks for your help.
I tried your steps, but i have no success. After i launch Photoshop in step four, the EULA dialog popus up. I can then use Photoshop. But after i close and reopen it, the dialog extend my membership is shown up.
If i then click on "License this software" it can use Photoshop until i close it. The message is "Creative Cloud membership is active now ...."
I tried also the button "retry" then a message shows up "Thanks, your abonnement for Adobe Photoshop CS6 is active. You can click on next ...". Then the dialog extend my membership shows up again and i can't use Photoshop.
Sorry for the translation of the dialogs, i use the german version, so i don't know the exact words in English.
I think i have to contact Adobe support or cancel my new membership in the next days.
Many thanks for your help again!
    Bye,
    Andreas

  • Adobe Media Encoder CS4 error in elearning suite trial version

Hi there, I have a trial version of elearning suite 2.5 and I have the error "Thank you for using Adobe Media Encoder CS4. The Adobe product that installed Media Encoder has not activated. Thanks.

    Any update on this?
