Acrobat in Flash

Hi !
I found quite a few topics about putting flash into pdf, but
my problem is that I want to embed PDF content inside a flash
application. My desires would be to embed 3D acrobat data, even
without acrobat frame/viewer into a flash app. I don't even dream
about such a thing possible in flash, but if there's everything
half as great, I would really appreciate if somebody would let me
know.
Thank you,
Sub

Displaying a 3D viewport via Flash Player is not going to happen yet. Although FP10 is promoted as having "3D features" it's strictly a 2.5D kernel - there's no internal concept of Z-space, just perspective and rotation arrays to make it look like there is. Dropping a U3D or OBJ into a Flash timeline would be nice, but you'll have to wait.
Meanwhile, Acrobat 9 can do it perfectly happily, and R9 penetration is quite good - not as deep as FP, but it's a different demographic. People who use the Web for CAD-type business will almost certainly have it, but a kid surfing for games may not. It's also extremely simple to handle legacy visitors to a page with embedded 3D PDF content; we've been doing it since 8.5 launched and our server logs currently run at around 65% having R9 on arrival, and 15% installing it and coming back.
There are other 3D browser plugins and OS applets such as Right Hemisphere's Deep View, but in general visitors get the point of installing R9 as they've heard of Adobe. Pushing them to another install, however good and safe it may be, is far harder if they don't recognize the name. You also have the advantage that it's a lot more work to drag your original model out from a PDF, whereas some of the third-party viewers simply push the raw mesh file to the visitor.

  • Acrobat X Flash content broke with Flash 14 upgrade!

Does anyone know the deal with Acrobat's Flash content support? I recently upgraded to Flash Player 14 and now when I insert swfs into Acrobat X Pro, it tells me to download a compatible version of Flash Player for Acrobat. When I follow the link, it's broken! What is going on? Did Adobe break Flash support in Acrobat? I use this functionality quite often, and it would be miserable to have to maintain an older version just for that feature! Please help!

I ran the update for Acrobat and it now seems to be working.

  • Acrobat 9 flash/flex form scrolling and hand mouse pointer problems

    Hello.
There is pdf file with embeded flash swf file inside. Main business logic has been implemented on flash: there are drop-down interactive menu and  navigation links.
I've noticed 2 problems related to Acrobat (flash movie itself, standalone, works correctly):
    1. Scrolling over drop-down menu doesn't work: mouse wheel doesn't scroll content of drop-down form menu. So, I have to manually click on scroll bar.
    2. Hand mouse pointer over links losses "hand" icon. Hand icon shows for short period and then disappears but should be visible while mouse pointer is over a link.
I managed to test these problems on Windows, MacOS with Acrobat Proffessional 9.0 and Acrobat Reader 9.1
So, Is there any way to resolve these problems?
    Thanks in advance

I'll take a look at these.  #1 is a known issue with Flash Player and is already being looked at, haven't heard about #2 though.

  • Open PDF in Acrobat from flash movie

    Hi all,
I have made a flash autorun splash screen for a CD containing numerous pdf' files. When I click on the files in the flash movie however, they open in a browser window. Is there any way to make them open in acrobat by default?

probably not.  you can't change a user's default settings.  and you can't force the execution of a file like acrobat without knowing its location.

  • Acrobat 9 & Flash - Flash Player Link 404's

We're running Acrobat 9. In trying to get a portfolio, we're getting the much-discussed "To view the Flash technology, please install..." Flash player message. Problem is that if I click through to the Adobe-provided link, there is no file to download - it 404's out (http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/support/acrobat/install_flash_player.exe):
    Not Found
The requested URL /pub/flashplayer/support/acrobat/install_flash_player.exe was not found on this server.
I know I need to install flash player, but if Adobe's deleted it, not sure what I'm supposed to do next.
    Thanks!

    Hello,
Please download Flash from following website:
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
Please select your O.S from Step 1.
and Select "Flash Player 15 for Other Browsers" in step 2.

  • When Printing Flash Paper from Acrobat Professional, Flash paper is not able to search!

When I try to print a flash paper file from adobe acrobat professional, it prints, and it creates the flash paper file. The flash paper file is no longer search-able though, when I try searching, it just says "not found".
The original PDF is search-able, and I have created the flash paper files before and they were search-able, but now they are not. Is there something I'm missing? Please let me know!

    Thanks!

I havent exported any videos in the past from Flash. The movie is around 45 seconds and the size is 470KB.
I tried both, the memory and the hard drive.
In the attached image you can see the settings and in the other image you can see the progress bar that remains without something to happen.
I dont mind what type of video to export it can be also .avi but again I have troubles there. It is very large and the animation is distorted.
The animation consist from two scenes. The first one can be exported without any problem but the second one cannot be exported. May be because it has some masks layers and guide layers?

  • Acrobat with Flash

I have insert a flash file ( flash with linking ). The first time I click on it, its working well. But there is a problem on the second time, I will need double click if I want to open the link again.
Then, I have creat another file "tools-bar.pdf" , I have insert a flash file ( flash WITHOUT linking ) and try to add a link button on it inside Acrobat. But I found that The button layer was under the flash layer and I cannot move it to the top.
    Please help.

    (using Acrobat 9 PRO)

You insert Flash files with the Flash tool or the Video tool or as an attachment, not the link tool. With the link tool you can only link to a pdf. Please describe your workflow exactly so we can try to be more helpful.

    Hi Adriano,
You can install Acrobat 11. It will remove the older Acrobat 8 version and will not affect other softwares of the suite.

  • Acrobat Help /  Flash Player needed link not working

I'm trying to install the flash player addon for Adobe Reader and the links found on the adobe help page are showing error messages. When I try to download the installer, they say "no file found" and are showing

  • Flash is not working in Adobe Acrobat Reader

Hi - I created a bunch of Flash tabs in Flash CS6 - they work great - but I want to put them into Adobe Acrobat X PRO (the writer) and they imported just fine and work just great inside of Acrobat X PRO.  However when I go to send the exported PDF with the Flash elements inside of it - to someone who only has Acrobat Reader (but doesn't have the Flash plug-in installed on their machine) - that person can open the PDF and can even view the Flash element but they get a yellow bar across the top of the PDF that says they must install the Flash plug-in to use it.  Well that is great but this PDF is being used out in the field where they cannot install the Flash plugin....
I am suprised it does this because Flash importing and exporting capability is native to Acrobat Reader...and I thought I read that Acrobat has flash reading/rendering capability natively built into the Reader itself.  Am I wrong - and/or does anyone have a workaround for this??
    Andrew

    Hi andrewpweyrich
What is the version of Adobe Reader You're using ?
Flash has been removed from the Reader X in latest releases and also it has been removed from Reader XI.
You Need to sepeately download and install the Flash plug-in to view the flash content.

  • Acrobat 9 and Flash

Is there a security issue using a swf in
Acrobat that references and xml file ?
When I embed this paticular swf .. all scripts in it are seemingly disabled ?

    Hi,
Just "road signs" and not the "destination".
Go to the AUC search page.
    http://www.acrobatusers.com/forums/aucbb/search.php
Use 'UVSAR' as string in Author search.
Use 'Rich Media / Flash' as selection for Forum search.
Discussions of Acrobat's flash, external "legacy" media and security are sprinkled about liberally.
Much of the what and why is addressed in various posts by UVSAR.
The document "Security for Flash Player compatible content in Acrobat 9" may also be helpful.

  • Unable to install Active X and Flash Plugin for Acrobat

I would like to create a PDF Portfolio in Acrobat Pro XI. However, once I have selected the files I get a notification that states, "To view the Flash technology content in this PDF file, please install this version of Flash Player that supports Adobe Reader and Acrobat." When I click the buttom "Proceed to download page," it brings me to this page: Acrobat Help | Flash Player needed | Acrobat, Reader XI
The problem is, the two download links for Windows don't seem to be working. Is this an across the board issue or is it just me? How can I go about installing these required plugins?

    Hi asbryk,
I checked the link to install flash player and it is working fine.
If the 'Flash Player Active X' and 'Flash Player Plug-ins ' are already installed in your system, then first uninstall them.
For that, please go to Control Panel>Programs and Features and click uninstall.
Also, check whether you have an updated Acrobat version i.e. 11.0.09 by clicking Help>Check for Updates
Now, restart your system and install the Flash Player from the same link you tried earlier.
I hope this will work fine now.

  • Which versions of Acrobat reader supports embedded Flash content?

I was wondering which versions of Acrobat supports Flash files (or Flash content) that might be found embedded within PDF files?
Specifically, does version 6, 7 or 8 have this capability?

The wikipedia entry for Adobe Acrobat says this regarding Acrobat reader version 9:
"Insert FLV (Flash) or H.264 video for direct playback in Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader."
The way I read that, it says that the ability to handle pdf files with embedded flash content was introduced with Acrobat reader version 9, and did not exist in earlier versions of Acrobat reader.
So are you sure that older Acrobat reader versions (specifically, version 6) is capable of correctly handling flash content embedded within a pdf file?
