"Acrobat is part of a suite" error

Even though I have downloaded the most recent free Acrobat reader, I cannot use it
to read PDF files.  The PDF opens well enough, but when I try to scroll through it, it freezes
and an error comes up saying that "Adobe Acrobat was installed as part of a Suite (yes it was, CS4)
and that I have to open another component of the suite to get acrobat to work. This is truly
a PITA.  Why won't the Acrobat reader work on its own?  Thanks for any help.

For the Reader part you may have to ask in the Reader forum. It sounds like the Acrobat installation was never completed and that may be the problem.

  • Error Message on Web Premium Suite while opening Acrobat that Adobe Acrobat was installed as part of a Suite

Can not open Acrobat Pro 9 out of my adobe creative suite 4 web premium.  Keeps giving an error message. Adobe Acrobat was installed as part of a suite.  To enable Adobe Acrobat start another component of this suite.  I am running Windows 7 64 and already have the CS6 Premium Production Suite loaded on my computer.  I really don't need to load all of the Web Premium since I have upgraded to CS6 programs but still need the Acrobat.  My hard drive crashed and I've had to start all over again.  This is the only glitch and it's becoming very frustrating.
Can't find a link to actually speak to someone at Adobe.

you'll need to install and open some other 32 bit cs4 app.

  • Error message: Acrobat 9 was installed as part of a suite. To enable Adobe Acrobat, please start another component of this suite (such as Adobe Photoshop).

My harddrive crashed. New one installed. Restored data from Time Machine. When launching Acrobat 9 Pro, I get the following error message:
"Acrobat was installed as part of a suite. To enable Adobe Acrobat, please start another component of this suite (such as Adobe Photoshop).
I followed the prompt but still not launching. Any suggestions.
    Thanks.

    Hi baxterbabe,
It is not recommended to use Time Machine to restore Adobe installations.
As you can see that this has caused the corruption of the licensing file.
Try launching Photoshop, go to 'Help' and select 'Deactivate' and then click 'Activate' from the same location.
Now launch Acrobat and check if it works properly.
You might also want to run the licensing repair tool from the link: Adobe - Adobe Licensing Repair Tool  and check if that works.
If both these suggestions fail then you might want to uninstall the software completely and reinstall.

  • Is Acrobat not part of CS5?

I purchased CS5 Master Collection (Student Edition) and was able to install and use all the software included in it with the serial key provided but I am unable to use that serial key to register Acrobat, is there a seperate serial key i'm missing or is Acrobat not included in CS5 Master Collection?

As Acrobat 9 is part of CS5 Master you ought to be able to use it.
    fwiw -
From an Adobe knowledge base article for CS5 install:
(CS5 Master Collection only) Install Acrobat 9 Pro from disc
If you already have Acrobat 9 Pro, either as part of a suite or as a standalone component, you do not need to reinstall it. Existing Acrobat 9 Pro users should download and install the most current updates for Acrobat 9 Pro. To check for updates, open Acrobat 9 Pro, and choose Help  > Check For Updates.
If you have Acrobat 8 or earlier installed on your computer, you must uninstall it before you can install Acrobat 9 Pro.
    1. Uninstall Acrobat 8:
        • (Windows XP) Open the Windows Control Panel and double-click Add or Remove Programs.
Select the product that you want to uninstall, click Change/Remove, and then follow the onscreen instructions.
        • (Windows Vista and Windows 7) Open the Windows Control Panel and double-click Programs and Features.
Select the product that you want to uninstall, click   Uninstall/Change, and then follow the onscreen instructions.
    2. Insert the Adobe Acrobat 9 Application DVD into your drive, navigate to the root directory, and double-click Setup.exe.
    3. Follow the onscreen instructions to install Acrobat 9 Pro.
    4. When prompted to enter a serial number, enter your Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro serial number and complete the installation.

  • No LiveCycle Upgrade if upgraded Acrobat X Pro from Creative Suite?

    Hi,
I bought Acrobat X Pro as part of Creative Suite 5.5. I saw in the FAQ for Acrobat Pro that if you owned a license for Acrobat X Pro and upgraded to Acrobat XI Pro, you could get a one time upgrade for LiveCycle Designer. I upgraded to Acrobat XI Pro, but was told that I'm not eligible for an upgrade because I have CS5.5. Was anyone able to get an upgrade that got Acrobat X Pro in a creative suite? Why wouldn't my upgrade to Acrobat XI Pro count (and I did get an upgrade, not a new Acrobat XI)?
    Any clarification would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hello,
You can try re-installing Acrobat 9 Pro or Acrobat X Pro individually.
After it is installed you will have to Deactivate the Complete Suite by launching any CS4/5 Applications. Click on Help > Deactivate.
Then Close and Re-launch the CS 4 / 5 Application, re-launch it and activate with the serial number.
Close and re-launch the Application CS 4 / 5 applications, click on Help > "Make sure you see Deactivate", It means the product is activated.
Now launch Acrobat and accept license. Done !
It should be up and fine.

Are you using a Microsoft or Apache web server? If so, you can submit to a server-side script, which will bypass web mail and client-side email software such as OUTLOOK.

  • Is service registry a part of SOA suite?

    Hi,
It is a bit unclear to me if service registry is a part of SOA Suite.
According to the SOA suite homepage (http://www.oracle.com/technologies/soa/soa-suite.html) it is not a SOA suite component.
However it is mentioned in the description of this SOA Suite forum(http://forums.oracle.com/forums/category.jspa?categoryID=13) and also on the homepage of SOA suite installation.
There are also some contradicting posts in this forum.
    Can anyone clarify this issue?
    TIA

    Hi,
The UDDI registry is part of the SOA architecture. It is however a separate download and installation in respect to the Oracle SOA Suite package.
    Kind regards,
    H

  • I have completely downloaded all parts of master suite (I attend AAU so it's provided by school) however, I can get nothing to load and operate. I am still running XP but my understanding is that it should still work for most apps

I believe you need to have XP with Service Pak 3 as a minimum for most CS6 applications.  You should check all of the system requirements because I think you also need to have a 64-bit machine as well.   Here is a link...
