Acrobat keeps quiting after installing through creative cloud

I have not got Acrobat to work ever since downloading from creative cloud. If I open it it quits after a few seconds. It seems others have had this problem but I couldn't find any solution. When I went to save a word file as a pdf it reported that there was no file association.  I really don't wnat to resort to cutepdf but will have to because I use this a lot for work.
Does anyone know the solution?

Hi Liz,
Try this
- Close Acrobat
- Launch Adobe Application Manager from either the Start menu (Win) or Applications (Mac) folder. It should auto update if needed
- De-activate and reactivate one of the other CS6 products like Photoshop CS6
- Test if the behavior persists for Acrobat

    We have purged the system of all adobe files using adobe cleaner and have re-installed after fixing permissions and other minor disk issues, and then running a full course of maintenance and cleaning tasks with Oynx but still no luck.
    We too have no real use for Reader, but in the moment all we needed to do was open a pdf but Reader had the same sympoms as Acrobat, thank god for Preview!

    Hi Guys,
    I installed the creative Cloud Teachers Edition on my computer 2 weeks ago.
    Always when I start the app, Premiere wants the have a serial number and says its only the trail version.
    Adobe recognize my ID properly but is still asking for a serial number.
    But I don´t have a serial number. I checked with my Adobe ID on the adobe website and can not find
    any serialnumber or code.
    There is also nothing on the invoice.
    It says in the FAQ´s that adobe would send me a code via Mail, but I have not received anything.
    Any suggestions what I can do to fix this issue?

    Then, If creative cloud is asking for a serial number when you start a Creative Cloud (CC) application, see this link:

    It's not clear which app you are referring to. If it is Premiere Pro, please go to C:\Program Files\Adobe and see if you have the 'Adobe Premiere Pro' folder. You can try to launch it from there.

    I cannot install Acrobat through Creative Cloud on OSX 10.9.5. The error output is below.
    I've tried:
    Uninstall everything using the uninstallers
    Restart
    Run the CC Cleaner tool
    Restart
    Run sudo find . /Users/*/Library -name Adobe
    Delete anything found
    Runsudo find . /Library -name Adobe
    Delete anything found
    Restart
    Reinstall
    Errors as below
    Can you suggest anything to allow me to install this, please?

    I can't install any apps through creative cloud.  Keeps giving me an error message when I select the Apps tab - Message says "to contact Customer Support".
    I'm running a virtual PC, and want to install a trial version app to see if I like it better than my current Dreamweaver 5.

    I have Parallels 8 and Windows 8 installed. The message I mentioned earlier has disappeared, and now it's saying:
    "Download error. Please contact customer support."

    Try below steps once
    click Gear icon on the top Right corner and Quit Creative Cloud App
    Click on Finder and then hold Command + Shift + G keys on your keypad
    It will open Go to folder window, type  exactly ~/Library and click on Go
    Make sure to open ~/Library not /Library (  there will be two Library folders )
    Then open Application Support > Adobe folders
    Trash AAMUpdater and OOBE folders.
    Then launch Creative Could and check.

    So, padraig, five weeks later, have you had any luck seeing this resolved?
    Chat sessions with two different support techs, and Error 204 still prevents my CC update install.
    Meanwhile my boss is paying for CC while I continue to use CS4.
    I know I'll have to go back to Adobe support, but I'm hoping someone will find a solution and post it in the forum.
