Acrobat menu language changed to Korean

Acrobat started up fine this morning, but all the menus are in Korean.  Since I can't understand what they say, I can't figure out where to 'click' to change the language back to US English.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hey L.R.Cote,
You might go to "Edit > Preferences> Language" and choose English under Application Language label.
Now close Acrobat and launch it again.
Let me know.

Anubha

  • Menu Language Change AppleWorks 6

    Hi,
I run eMac and iBook, both g4 os x 10.3.9 Spanish setted
On eMac AppleWorks runs in Spanish, as it should following international preferences options.
But, iBook with same preferences setting, same os x. AppleWorks runs in English. I cannot find the way to get it to run in Spanish.
    Any ideas?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions Matias
AppleWorks is not a multi-lingual program like TextEdit (included with OS X). It is actually an OS 8/9 program that was carbonized to run in OS X & it comes in many different language versions. To use a different language in AppleWorks, you need to install that version. If your iBook is fairly new & came with an Install DVD, you can install the Spanish version of AppleWorks. Insert the Install DVD, double-click on the install bundled software icon, click the arrow/triangle (if necessary) next to AppleWorks at the bottom of the list, check the box for the language you want, click Install (I think) & follow the directions.

  • Firefox 4 -- just downloaded and menu & top bars are in some strange language - not english. I can't seem to get to a tools menu to change the language because I can't read the top menu.

Just downloaded Firefox4 and can't read the top line menu because it's in some strange language with symbols instead of letters. How do I get it to display English in the top line menu?
If I could read the menu, I'd go to tools and see if there were an option to change the menu language, but since I can't read the menu choices, I'd only be pushing meaningless buttons.
    [email protected]

Thanks. I tried it and get the attached screen. I don't see anything which lets me change the language in the menu.
Before I give up completely & just stick with Chrome or IE, I'll bring my laptop which has a correctly configured version of firefox 4 side by side with my desktop & use it as a template for clicking on the correct gibberish lines. I still don't see an option for changing menu bar language, but I'll search around a bit.
It would help if I could get phone contact with someone at Mozilla, but they don't seem to list a phone number on their help page ----

  • Change Menu Language to English?

Hello! My hubby bought me a Nokia 7373 as a gift - we are currently located in Germany. When I put my sim card in the phone, the menu displayed in German _ is there a way to change the menu language to english??

You are going to have to find your way through the menus (sorry, I speak no Spanish):
    -Menu
    -Settings (spanner icon)
-Phone (phone and spanner together icon)
    -Language settings
    -Phone Language
You will probably find it set to 'Automatic', simply choose English from this list.

  • I need more INPUT (not MENU) languages in my E90!

Though E90 Communicator is awesome in majority of functions, usability and comparatively perfect in production quality, it lacks some features that I as business-user definitely need.
The most disappointing issue for me is the language issue. While the "normal" phones have 6 to 8 languages pro firmware/product code, the E90 has only 3!!! (Maybe 4 in APAC region but i do not care.)
I'll try to explain shortly. As a businessman who lives in Germany and is a native Russian-speaker, I have a LOT of partners/clients/friends who do prefer to have a communication profile with me in Russian. I have almost the same amount of people with whom I need to communicate in German or French. The tragic truth is that I cannot approach this with the actual firmware situation on E90.
If I would buy my Nokia E90 in Russia, I would get the predefined languages of English, Russian and Ukrainian. That is nice, but in this case I cannot write in German as it should be written, saying with Ö, Ä, Ü, ß and so on. I also could not use some of the French special characters. If I would use E90 only as a SMS machine, it might be OK. But I use it more likely as a travel PC replacement the device pretend to be, so I use e-mail and document editing, where the lack of those characters are intolerable.
Besides all, I live in Germany and am a client of German service provider, so why should I probably buy the device outside of Germany? So think I and so I doing, saying I renewed my service contract and bought the E90.
In German firmware I got another three (!!!) languages: German, English and Turkish. Wonderful. I may speak out about the pure discrimination from the Nokia side: in Germany we have the same amount of Russian speakers as Turkish fellow ones, both about 8,000,000 persons each. ;-) So why Turkish and not Russian, Italian or French? Every of those "communities" has equal rights, am I right?! Hei, Nokia! Do you hear my voice?!
Is it really so hard to understand, that an ULTIMATE BUSINESS SOLUTION as E90 definitely would be preferred by the people, who really use it - really intensive - as a communication device?! Is it really hard to understand, that thousands of them would get e-mails and documents while on the road that definitely need to be urgent answered some other language than 3 preinstalled?! Should I change the firmware of my phone every time I need to answer e-mail in French or edit the financial contract for my Russian partner?!
Ridiculous and disappointing - what else should I say?! Especially because I know, that the situation as easy to fix from the Nokia side as a single mouse click.
I am sure there are people reading and writing to this Forum who needs for example Chinese Mandarin and German, or Hindi and Farsi, or Arabic and Spanish simultaniously. There is no way to understand why it is impossible to choose the INPUT languages - I do NOT speak about the MENU languages and never pretend to.
So, because this Forum is Nokia's piece of land and Nokia has kindly allowed us to cry out here what I do really appreciate, I want definitely get the answer to following questions:
    1) Is it possible to add some INPUT (once again - NOT menu, just INPUT) languages to E90 firmware?
    2) If yes, when?
    3) If not, what is the reason? The reason - please, no "technical excuses", because I am not that stupid, OK? ;-)
We are living in such a damn globalized world, aren't we? So let's be really globalized and let's help us ourselves to get out the most from this.
    Thanks to all for listening.

Since Windows 98 is absolutely not a problem to add ANY input language in ANY localized version of the OS. I do know that Symbian OS has at least the same flexibility options.
Once again: I do not pretend to have any other MENU language - I simply do not need it. But the possibility to choose more INPUT language is simply and quickly to add, that is what I am asking for.
Maybe your statistic research is right, I do not want to argue with you. More than that, this is exactly I expected as an excuse option: "Marginal request". But no, it is not. The device would probably have higher customer interest when the free input would be represented.
Your advice to use laptop instead of E90 is highly appreciated, but it is not unique enough to be accepted "as is". ;-) The idea of E90 as well as previous communicators was to give the customer an option to leave her/his laptop at home and make a 1 or 2 day business trip as lite as possible in every meaning of the word "lite". I have 2 laptops already, 1 Panasonic for traveling and IBM Z61p Workstation as a desktop replacement. I should say that Panasonic, while being one of the best travel-oriented devices on the market, with its almost 2 Kilo travel weight and about 1 minute power-up/power-down time is completely insufficient as a communicator replacement. In addition to it you need a businesscard-scanner and a digicam, you are constantly out of power and so on. It is or will be the same story with UMPC. The only option until now was HTC/Qtek 9000, the most powerful and well-equipped device on the market. But it is completely useless as a phone and its camera is a disaster, so I switched to E90 because of its awesome usability as a phone, a digicam and as a communicator simultaneously just because I HATE to carry on 12 hours a day here and there a 5 Kilo bag with laptop, phone, camera, cables, batteries and other damned stuff around. I am just SICK and TIRED of this and I dreamed about the device that can make free from all that - for YEARS!!!
I remember my conversation with Nokia people at its CeBIT Stand in late 1990-es - the concept was already here, but the materialization of my dreams took Nokia R&D almost a decade. And now, when it is already in my hands, it lacks such a damn little thing to be as perfect as possible! ;-)
I am not that crazy - "perfect" does not mean really perfect. Of course there are and there would be minor and major bugs with later fixes and improvements. Because of the possibility of fixes and improvements I insist on one of the most critical for me. I understand as well, that it needs neither additional research nor hardware changes. All you need to to do is a little software module to be added and/or replaced. The Occam Razor Rule is still in my mind. ;-)

  • Ideapad Y560P Windows 7 Home premium Language change

    Hello,
I'm living in Korea for 5 years but I'm foreign citizen. After long "research" I've just bought an Ideapad Y560p here in Korea. During the research process I was focused more on the hardware specs because since the notebook was intended for home usage I was not interested in upper Windows 7 versions. I must mentioned that I've start working with computers long time ago prodramming on DOS PC, then administration for a CAD integrated system in a company starting with Windows 3.1 for workgroups until Windows 200 server with Windows XP clients. Vista was skiped due to obvios reasons. Anyhow I had no idea that at this stage of technology development and market situation a company could release an OS that could not be customized in regards with the Language Interface.
After I've excluded Apple MacBook (I have also IMac but the price I thought is a little bit too high) I've bought the IdeaPad Y 560p with Windows 7 Home Premium. The OS is preinstalled in Korean language (I was expected that) but I thought that will be no problem to change. After my laptop arrived I was struggling some time to change the korean language of the interface but no success. After some time I was searching on INTERNET and I could not believe: to be able to change the language you must buy Enterprise or Ultimate version. Sorry for MS but this is really STUPID. Even on Win 3.1 with the kit on 10 1.44" disks you have some limited options to change it.
I've called to Lenovo Korea to find a solution but result = 0. They say that is not possible to change even if on some sites I've read that the OEM have the extended language packs that could be used for this change even on the WIN 7 MONOLANGUAGE versions.
I've called Microsoft korea trying to find a solution to change from Korean to English. Result 0. Anyhaw they were "very nice" to offer me an upgrade at the market price.
Sorry for the this long message but I'm really frustraded and I'm also thinking that Ireally made a bad mistake not going for the MacBook pro.
Does anybody (maybe from Lenovo) have a solution?
In the mean time I'm trying to see if I could return the notebook and to get a refund or to find a miraculous solution on Internet.
I forgot to mention that no instalation DVD come with the notebook to try atleast a clean installation hoping that at the begining I could choose a different language than korean.

i was gonna suggest to install language packs, so, nevermind, next step:
no installation dvd required for lenovos, shutdown your computer and press one key recover button ( small one near power button ) and follow the instructions for performing clean windows installation. after that the operation system may ask you choose the language, otherwise, call lenovo support line for resetting your harddisk to default ( in english )
post back if you have negative feedback about your issue ( pls, with pm ) then i'll contact admin and lets see if he can do anything about it.

  • Disappearing Acrobat menu options in MS Word

I'm using Acrobat 8.1.6 with MS Word 2003. When I open Word for a new file, the two Acrobat menu options (Adobe PDF and Acrobat Comments) appear on the main menu. As soon as I open an MS Word document, the two menu options are removed. The Convert to Adobe PDF toolbar button remains. However, without the menu option, I cannot change the conversion settings which I need to do. It only happens for some documents, so there must be some setting in the document that is affecting this, but I have been unable to find it. When I try to do the conversion from within Acrobat, when I open the Bookmarks tab of the Settings dialog, the list of MS Word heading to convert to bookmarks is empty. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. My customer is waiting no so patiently!

Well, upon further investigation, I discovered that the menu options were removed when I applied a template to the Word document. I overlaid the template with another copy that I had saved elsewhere and that fixed the problem. Somehow, the template got corrupted in such a way that Distiller didn't like it. If anyone has a clue of what caused this, I would be more than intetested.

  • Microsoft Word 2008 top menu bar changed to chinese - ISSUE

After opening a MSfile the Leopard top menu when using Microsoft Word 2008 has been changed to Chinesse. This issue only happen with this product and not with the rest of the Microsoft tools that I have installed in my MacBook (example: Powerpoint). I'm including a print screen (as you can see only the iOS menu is changed to chinesse and not the software menu). I extremely need to change it back to English!
Thanks for any information and advice that you could provide

Never heard of something like that. AFAIK, Office 2008 distributions do not contain localisation resources, so there would be no way for (US) Word to display menus in Chinese. Maybe you have a multi-lingual version? Check what's available in the Microsoft Language Register, although I was under the impression that it did not affect menu display. And… are you sure it's Word 2008 and not 2011?
Btw, an unrelated issue. Did you recently open a Word doc having to do with Tibet?

  • Keyboard language changed only in Firefox not other programmes

I have Firefox in English but I use a Spanish keyboard, meaning some keys like question marks or quotation marks are in different places, there are accents, a key for ç, etc. It has always worked normally but today, while the keyboard is working correctly with all other programmes in Firefox it works as if the settings were changed to an English (I think) keyboard.
I don't have that problem with Chrome though, it's just Firefox. How is that possible (add question mark here, I can't guess what key I'im supposed to use for it).
I haven't changed anything in the settings, so the only possibility could be some kind of shortcut I've accidentally pressed, even though I don't know how that's even possible, as I assumed you can't have several keyboard language settings selected at the same time depending on the programme you're using.
I type in different languages so this is terribly annoying! Thanks for any help.

It is possible that you have switched the keyboard layout by accident by using the key sequence to rotate the layout.
    * http://support.microsoft.com/kb/258824 - How to change your keyboard layout
Windows remembers the keyboard layout setting per application and you may have changed the keyboard layout by accident via a keyboard shortcut.

    * http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/The-Language-bar-overview The Language bar (overview)
Make sure that you have the Language bar visible on the Windows Taskbar
    * You can do that via the right-click context menu of the Taskbar: Toolbars > Language Bar
    * Check the keyboard language (keyboard layout) setting for the application that has focus via the icon on the Language bar
    * You need to do that while Firefox has focus because Windows remembers the keyboard layout setting per application
    * The default key combination to rotate the layout is the Ctrl+Shift or Alt+Shift combination that is used in Firefox for menu items, so it is quite possible to change the layout accidentally.
    * To avoid an unintentional switch, assign a specific key sequence (Alt/Ctrl+Shift+number) to select keyboard layouts and remove the key combination to rotate layouts (Alt+Shift or Ctrl+Shift)
    * Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Keyboards and Languages > Change keyboards > Advanced key settings > Change key sequence

  • Language change makes me unable to log on my Macbook!

    Hi guys,
So yesterday I changed my language from English to Vietnamese. My computer went on sleep. When I tried to log on, it didn't show up the dots(for the password field).
