Acrobat plugin causes internal error

When repeatedly downloading PDFs from one website (IEEEXplore in my case), the Acrobat plugin stops working on about the fourth PDF (black screen appears, likely the startup black screen of Acrobat) and a message pops up "Internal error caused by Acrobat plugin".
I don't see the same happen on IE.

I' ve got the same problem. Have You got any sollution ? Please e-mail me : [email protected]

  • Adobe Reader X (XI): barcode causes internal error

    Hello,
    we having troubles open a PDF with AcrobatReader containing a barcode
    On opening with the acrobat reader a "Internal error" occurs.
    The file can be easily opened with the Chrome Browser and Firefox too without problems and the barcode appears.
    To reproduce the problem i uploaded the error causing pdf document:
    http://temp-share.com/show/2gFbc4nE8
    On my system the following behavior occurred with the above attached document:
    Operation System: Win 7 - 64bit
    Desktop Version:   Adobe Reader XI --> INTERNAL ERROR (no print out of the barcode),
                                   Adobe Reader X 10.1.7.27 -> same
    Firefox: (Adobe Acrobat 11.0.1.36) Adobe PDF Plugin for Firexfox and Netscape 11.0.1.36) --> WORKS (barcode is print)
    Internet Explorer: Adobe PDF Link Helper (Version 11.0.0.379)  --> INTERNAL ERROR (no print out of the barcode)
    I kindly ask for help.
    Best regards.

    Ok, here are some thoughts.
    1. "Internal error" is always a bug. But sometimes it hides a different problem.
    2. This does not happen either with much older versions of Acrobat.
    3. I can confirm that it is the image of the barcode which causes the issue.
    Adobe will not look at this file, as I understand it.
    Things to try:
    a. If the barcode is generated as a PDF by barbeque test that PDF to see if it gives the error.
    b. If it does, contact barbeque support or try a different barcode generator.
    c. If it does not, contact ireport support or try a different report generator.

  • Acrobat 7.0 - internal error when attaching to email

    I have Acrobat 7.0 on a Windows Server 2003 machine with Outlook 2003 and everytime I click the attach to email button I get an "An Internal Error has Occured".  I want to be able to email the pdf directly from Adobe rather than save the file and attach it to an email.

    The MAPI trail was the right one.  Sever 2003 doesn't recommend the use of Outlook on Server 2003.  There are some work arounds but they are too sophisticated for me.  Thanks for your response.

  • Acrobat 9 std.- "internal error" / "out of memory"

    I am using Acrobat Standard 9.0, which has updated itself to 9.2.0.  When I try to use the text box tool, I get an error message "internal error".  When I try to close this window sometimes if I click on it enough times then I get an error message "out of memory".  I have a computer with WinXP and 4GB of RAM, so I got curious and I checked it in task manager.  With Acrobat running task manager shows that 446MB of RAM is in use.  When the error message pops up within 5 seconds the ram usage has climbed to about 2400MB of RAM used.  Acrobat eventually terminates on its own and the RAM usage drops back to 420MB used.  I had no problems until Acrobat auto-updated itself.

    Hi Sanjay,
    Currently, the lower bound of Matchbox's memory footprint is 16 * instanceCount * (4*traitCount + 2*ratingCount) bytes. Here
    ratingCount is the difference between the largest and the smallest rating in the dataset (I believe 5 in your case). So it looks like you'll need about 50 GB of RAM. I believe that this will often be available on the production machines, unless there
    isn't some other heavy experiment scheduled on the same machine. Also, please note that we're in the process of improving the recommender in a way that it can read the input data in batches, and thus process very large datasets.
    As to the case when there's enough memory, you might be hitting a model serialization issue (as discussed in
    this thread). Would you please look at the last few lines of the output log of the trainer in order to verify this? This log can be found by clicking on the failing module and then on "View output
    log" on the right.
    I guess the solution for now will be to select a subset of the data (probably based on the time when the rating was given).

  • Plugin causes fatal error

    running nt 4 platform with plugin 1.4.2_01. The java plugin causes a fatal error when attempting to view an applet in netscape 6+ and IE. If netscape communicator 4.74 on the same system does not have the same problem. Applet can be viewed ok.
    The error arises out of an attempt to load the jvm.dll from the hotspot directory. This is not present in the jre install.
    Any suggestion as to
    how the problem can be fixed?
    how the problem can be traced?

  • DUAL causes internal error ORA-00600

    Hi All,
    I am using oracle 10g database agains Forms6i, but in forms pl/sql when ever and where ever I use the DUAL in select statement
    i.e. SELECT sysdate INTO <variable> FROM DUAL;
    it always causes oracle internal error ORA-00600 ?
    However it the dual statement works fine in SQL Plus console.
    Any knows anything about this problem.
    Any help will be highly appriciated. Thanking you and Best Regards.

    Please go to the first reply above:
    Only the newest patch 17 runs against 10g databases without problems.
    Either upgrade to Forms 6.0.8 and apply patch 17, or else connect to an Oracle 8 or 9i database.

    which seems to be rather vague, and offers no clue as to what caused the problem. so, my question is, what could cause this error?
    these are the compiler options we use in the build file:
    <java jar="${flex.compc.jar}" dir="." fork="true" failonerror="true">
          <jvmarg value="-Xmx512m" />
          <arg line="@{options} ${_compc.libpath} ${_compc.externspath} ${_compc.includespath}" />
          <arg value="+flexlib=${flex.frameworks.dir}" />
          <arg value="-load-config=@{config}" />
          <arg value="-source-path=@{src.dir}" />
          <arg value="-include-sources=@{src.dir}" />
          <arg value="-output=@{dest}" />
          <arg value="-swf-version=@{swf.version}"/>
          <arg value="-debug=${flash.debug}"/>
          <arg value="-advanced-telemetry"/>
    </java>
    assume that the properties resolve to correct values, since all projects (except one) call this task and compile successfully. the error must come from this one project that fails, but we don't know why.
    any ideas?

    You could be running out of memory, try increasing the -Xmx512m value to -Xmx1024m or another value that you prefer

  • XML SQL functions causing internal errors in PL/SQL

    Still busy searching through Metalink, but have yet to find anything useful. Maybe someone can point me towards a URL or a doc ref that has some hints on how to solve the following:
    Oracle: 10.2.0.1.0 46bit
    O/S: HP-UX 11
    SQL> var l varchar2(4000)
    SQL>
    SQL>

    L
    <ID>123</ID>
    SQL> begin
      2     select XMLForest( 123 as "ID" ) into :l from dual;
      3  end;
      4  /
            select XMLForest( 123 as "ID" ) into :l from dual;
    ERROR at line 2:
    ORA-06550: line 2, column 2:
    PLS-00801: internal error [*** ASSERT at file pdw4.c, line  793;
    Cannot coerce between type 43 and type 30; anon_c000000044b37bb0__AB[2, 2]]
    SQL> begin
      2     EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'select XMLForest( 123 as "ID" ) from dual' into :l;
      3* end;
    SQL> /
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL> print l
    L
    <ID>123</ID>

    Ah.. found the problem. The function returns a type which result is implicitly type casted to a varchar2 it seems when running a SELECT on it via the SQL engine.
    PL/SQL sees it as a type (which it is) and expects you to put it into a var of the same type. It does not allow/perform the implicit conversion to varchar2.
    But then SQL is not Turing Complete so I guess we'll have to let the SQL Engine slide on doing these implicit conversions... :-)

  • Air Instruments Technology plugins causes FATAL Error

    I am using Mainstage 3. I installed the Air Instruments plugin Hybrid, Loom and Vacumm Pro. It used to work fine until this week when I started getting a fatal error on Mainstage. Since then, I have uninstalled the plugins, reinstalled Mainstage, and the issue persists.

  • Please help! Keep getting error message "an internal error occurred"

    Hello,
    I'm trying to install Adobe Reader 10.1 on my macbook, but after (what looks like a successful download of Reader), when I try to open up a pdf I get the message "an internal error occurred." From here I am forced to click "OK" and then I just get a blank screen.
    I've tried to unistall and reinstall all Adobe files several times, but always get the same error message.
    Here's what I'm working with:
    Mac OS X - Version 10.5.8
    Intel Core 2 Duo
    Safari - Version 5.0.6
    I'm not super-tech savvy, I just need to download this program to be able to use an online training module for school.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    I have had the same problem and ended up spending about 4 working hours resolving it, although I have a master degree in computer science.
    The problem is caused by an incompatibility between Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0/7.0 and Adobe Acrobat Reader 10. It is very strange that this error was not discovered during Adobes in-house quality control. I expect such tests should have been performed prior to making new releases, in order to spare problems for users. Also, I would expect better error management in a software product of this calibre. If a missing file ends up causing a crash, one might wonder if there are also security critical flaws in the software related to e.g. parsing PDF documents.
    Problem description:
    After agreeing to the license Adobe Acrobat says "An internal error occurred" and crashes. No further information given.
    The system log reads ([…].com.adobe.Reader[220]) Exited abnormally: Interrupt
    Executing the binary directly from the terminal with -O flag gives no data on standard output. Other crash log reveals no interesting information.
    Solution:
    After some investigation, found crash is caused when /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Fonts/AdobeFnt06.lst is accessed.
    Hence due to incompatibility between Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0/7.0 and Adobe Acrobat Reader 10.
    The installer/uninstaller should probably have removed the file.
    I could delete the above file since I no longer use v6.0/7.0, and the problem was then resolved.
    Prior to this I had also deleted some of the com.adobe.* preferences from
    /Users/[username]/Library/Preferences
    /Library/Preferences
    etc.
    although I am not sure if this was necessary.
    Hope this helps.
    /Martin

  • Acrobat Reader 9.5.1 'Internal Error' [solved]

    Hello, everybody.
    To come quickly to the point, here is the problem / issue (hopefully, in the most concise and useful formulation).
    OS: openSUSE Linux 12.1 with kernel v. 3.1.10-1.9 and (just for the report - even if I don't think it matters) Qt libraries v. 4.7.4-19.6.1. I say I don't think it matters, because I've already experienced this very same issue with openSUSE 11.0 (kernel 2.6.25.5 and Qt 4.4.0, with Acrobat Reader 8.1.3).
    Acrobat Reader v. 9.5.1 (the release included with the distro).
    The issue: when I try to overwrite an existing PDF document (i.e.: save 'foo.pdf' OVER a pre-existing copy of 'foo.pdf') I systematically get caught into the sequence 'the document already exists. Do you want to overwrite it?' -> yes -> 'An internal error has occurred' -> the document can't be overwritten.
    Attempts to fix: I've already tried - suspecting I had possibly missed something during the installation process - to change the permissions of the '.adobe' preferences folder under my /home directory by issuing the usual 'chown -R xxx:yyy .adobe' command: with no result.
    Any idea about the possible causes and workarounds?
    BTW, while I was trying to recover the exact information about the program's version in the 'Help -> about Adobe Reader' menu, I've stumbled into another issue (which looks very much like a bug): that is, the program freezes if I try to read the 'Credits' information by pushing the suitable button in the red 'Adobe Reader 9' banner. Possible causes and remedies (aside from upgrading to the most recent version)?
    Thank you very much in advance
    Mario Grilli

    Reason: solved

    I add this one to my previous message, which solves the issue (and closes the thread).
    The issue has been solved (on another system, though: that is, Fedora 17) by installing the original Acrobat Reader 9.5.1 from Adobe. With "original" I mean: not the .rpm archive enclosed in the OS DVD, but the one which can be downloaded directly from Adobe.
    The method:  one has to open a terminal and simply do the following:
    # rpm -Uvh http://linuxdownload.adobe.com/adobe-release/adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.noarch.rpm
    [as root] # yum install AdobeReader_enu
    The version of Acrobat Reader which is installed by this method is complete with all the GTK suitable libraries: and actually works with no hassle, allowing to overwrite previous versions of the same file.
    Now, however, I have to find some equivalent procedure under openSUSE: because it's a fact that even the AdbeRdr9.5.1-1_i486linux_enu.rpm file one usually downloads from here installs a copy of Acrobat Reader which shows the aforementioned issue, despite all the necessary graphical libraries being already installed in the system. Now, since this one is probably the .rpm archive a user finds in the main .rpm-based Linux distros, I add that it might be interesting if some Adobe engineer would try to dig a little deeper into this issue...

  • Acrobat Reader X "An Internal Error Has Occurred"

    I have a Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit machine running Acrobat Reader X.  Both the machine and Reader are updated with the latest patches.
    The primary user on the machine can use the program.  A second (also an administrator) user on the same machine gets the error "an internal error has occurred" and reader fails to start.
    I have since tracked this down to: if "Enabled Protected Mode at startup" is enabled you get this error. If it is disabled you do not.
    How I got there: I used compatibility mode set to "Windows XP SP3" to launch the program, which caused protected mode to fail (but not bomb the program).  Once I was into the program I disabled protected mode, turned compatibility mode off, and now it works.
    Turn protected mode back on and BAM you get the error next time you launch the program.

    Good day Andre,
    Try to run a permissions repair on your hard drive (Disk Utility).
    If that doesn't resolve the issue, try updating Acrobat X to 10.1.2 by downloading and installing the update from here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Macintosh
    Let us know how it goes!
    Kind regards,
    David

  • Acrobat XI Pro doesn't work on iMac Retina 5K, "An Internal error occurred"

    Please help.
    I just received my latest iMac Retina 5K 27inch and tried to install newly purchased Acrobat XI Pro, installation went ok, but it give me error message when I open the program:
    " An internal error occurred."
    I tried to install it into my old iMac 2010 and it works fine. Below are system information of my 2 x iMac, can anyone give me some advises? Thank you.
    iMac Retina 5K 27inch Late 2014
    OSX Yosemite Ver 10.10
    Processor 4 GHz Intel i7

    OSX Yosemite Ver 10.10
    Processor 3.06 GHz i3
    Memory 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3
    ATI Radeon HD 4670 256MB

    Hi yang2898,
    If the installation went ok and you are unable to launch Acrobat then this might be due to licensing issue.
    Please check if you have full read/ write permissions to the following folders:
    [Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLStore
    [Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLCache
    [Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AdobePCD
    You might also want to check in the root user account of Mac (Enabling and using the "root" user in Mac OS X - Apple Support)

  • An internal error has occurred in the secLdap plugin - CR XI (Login to Ent)

    Hi,
    We recently changed the authentication type on BO XI R2 Enterprise from Enterprise to LDAP mode and have been able to add and configure all the LDAP groups. We know that the authentication is successful as users have been able to successfully login via the Infoview/CMC.
    However, we are facing a problem from certian workstations (for example mine) when ever we try to login to BO Enterprise via the Crystal Reports XI client thorough LDAP as it gives the error 'An internal error has occurred in the secLdap plugin'. (PS: The Enterprise Authentication mode works) From what I have understood that this error is workstation specific as the same login is successfull from another workstation.
    The CR XI client on all the workstations are of the same version (11.0.0.1282)  but the Windows Updates differs. For e.g.: I have Windows XP SP 3 (with the latest of the updates with IE 8)
    Is there any updates to CR XI Client to solve this issue or am I missing something here?

    Your client is CR R1, your server is XI R2. This is a known bug. To fix you need BOE XIR1 SP3 or above. I'm not sure this was fixed in a CR service pack. Sorry I can't find a link for that right now.
    Or use [this link|http://resources.businessobjects.com/support/additional_downloads/service_packs/crxir2.asp] to get CR R2, uninstall CR R1, and replace with CR R2. NOTE: they should still use the same license keys. If using CR to XIR2 you should always keep the same version so this is the preferred method.

    Tim
