Acrobat - Preflight - Single Check - Non CMYK ?

Hi all,
I'm looking for a universal single check in Acrobat -> Preflight to find any things (I mean everything - fonts, pictures, borders of a table, objects, ect.) that are NOT in CMYK colors (mainly they are RGB)
Right now I'm using this:
All -> Object uses CMYK only (no sport colors) - is not true
+
All -> Object is white - is not true
Thanks!

If the method seems complicated, I think it may be that, like many people, you don't realise that the question is complicated too.
It is best not to say "resolution of a PDF" because it sounds as if a PDF has just one resolution. If it were that simple there would be a box to popup with that resolution.
Rather, each image in a PDF has a resolution, potentially different. So you need to use preflight, to check every image against the rules you want.
So you can't say "the resolution of my document is 96 ppi". Rather, "my document contains at least one image at 96 ppi". The others might be the same, or this might be the only one, with all the others at (say) 300 ppi.

  • Checking PDF Resolution with Preflight Single Checks

While checking resolution with Acrobat 10.1.1, I am baffled and need comments from you all on how to interpret the following preflight reports:
Checking whether the ppi of my PDF is less than 150 results in a big red X and then states that the document is 96ppi?
And - why do the results state No Problems Found when a check is run on the same document asking whether the resolution is between 100 - 120 ppi if the document is indeed 96ppi ?

  • Acrobat 8 Professional and Colors CMYK should be RGB

I have just received proof copies back from our Printing company and found the colors deferent. They have told me the PDF is printing in CMYK and it should be RGB.
The documents are created in Adobe FrameMaker 8 version 273, I have checked FrameMaker help files, which tells me files are converted to RGB thats what I wanted to see, so this part seems fine.
I have recently upgraded to Acrobat 8 Professional, checked the preferences and all the CMYK colors are turned off.
I'm stumped anybody have any ideas.

All my printers require my docs to be CMYK. Not sure why they'd want them in RGB, which I thought was for viewing on a monitor.

  • I cannot print single checks with my brand new HP Laserjet 500. Full page checks OK.

Win 7, Quicken 2012R5, HP Color Laserjet 500. I can print full page of check fine. A single check prints by starting at the middle of the check, not at the end. Checks are inserted end-wise into the manual feed drop down. Quicken says it is an HP Printer problem. The Quicken "adjust" method only allows for movement of the printing by a few hundredths of an inch.  I need to move the print several inches. Appreciate any help you can offer. I tried HP support and was told to telephone, then got stuck forever on the que.......

I can understand the frustration both of you have experienced.
The product you have is a commercial printer. I suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support for a better chance at finding a solution.
Here is the link to the Commercial Laserjet board:

    Hi,
Can you check the below thread of urs.
    [Reg:Single Check for Multiple Vendors]
In addition to the above, please make sure that in OBVU, the check box separate payment for each ref is deselected for your questioned comapny code.
You would have continued your earlier thread instead, rather than a new thread.

  • Single Check created for two Vendor invoices via RFFOUS_C

    Hi All
We run the program RFFOUS_C to generate check printing, our requirement is to print a single check for each invoice to a vendor. So if two invoices require payment, then two checks created.
The system generates two Check numbers which can be seen in F110. However when reviewing the file, only one check number is printed against both invoices.
Where else should I be looking for a setting that determines the check payments?
    Regards
    Gurprit

    Hi,
In the vendor master, company code data, payment transaction tab, there is a setting for individual payment. If this is checked, a separate payment will be made for each invoice.
There may be other solutions but this one is very simple.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi Lak,
Option 1: You can do this if you have centralized payment system. That's one company paying for the multiple company codes.
You can then do following customizing:
    1) In fbzp " All company codes" make sure paying company code is same for different sending company codes
    2) Do cross-company customizing "OBYA"
Option2: If you don't have a centralized payment system, there could be possibilty to address you need, by adjusting the SAP script form for check. From good accounting practice point of view it might now be advisable. Moreover, if you are running check extract for Bank (Positive pay file) keep in mind SAP extracts check info per company code (Standard), so you will need some development. And you loose some reporting functions for check too. Moreover, I am not sure how will you handle the check reversal. It might involve multiple steps, since you can use the standard FCH8.
Unfortunately the payment grouping key ZGRUP is defined at the company code level
    Thanks
    Ron

  • Can't print single checks

I am trying to print a single check using a HP D7500 printer from Quicken. I am confused by what I see in the printer dialog boxes. Also I don't know whether this is a mac or hp or quicken question.
The check is 3.5X8.5 inches. I am feeding the narrow part of the check into the printer, just as I do for envelopes (which works). For envelopes I select #10 envelop in Page Setup (of Pages). When I attempt to print and I select Paper Handling in the Print Dialog the Destination Paper Size is #10 envelop, as I would expect.
For printing a single check I have defined a custom document size 3.5X8.5 inches (called check). In Quicken in Page Setup I select Paper Size= check. When I attempt to print a single check and I select Paper Handling in the Print Dialog the Destination Size is US Letter (and not check, as I expect). When I select PRINT I get an error that the process stopped with status 233.
I am stuck here. The most basic question is whether the is a mac or quicken or hp question. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
    Owen

After looking at the Quicken forum, I've concluded that, at least with a HP printer, this can only be done using a Form leader packet from quicken. I had been able to do this with an Epson printer which I replaced about 6 months ago. Here are a few posts from the quicken forum (the first of which is with Quicken for Windows):

  • Text disappeared after Acrobat preflight

    Hi all,
A few days ago I preflighted a PDF using the 'Convert to PDF/X-1a (Coated FOGRA39)' preflight profile in Acrobat X. After preflighting and optimization several pieces of text suddenly disappeared. I'm a bit puzzled here. Customers of me are using this preflight profile to optimize quite some PDF's in their workflow for print production. Has anyone experienced similar kind of problems with this profile (or another in Acrobat preflight)?
I ran my tests on Windows 7, Acrobat 10.0.1.
    PDF A, before preflighting
    PDF A, after preflighting
    PDF B, before preflighting
    PDF B, after preflighting
    All help is welcome.

If you have the file in the "pre-converted" state, could you do the following test?
    1. open the file in Acrobat
    2. open the transparency flattener (located in the Print Production tools)
    3. do APPLY for flattening the file (do this, even if there is no transparency in the file at all)
    4. then do 'OK' to return to the Viewer
Is the text still visible or has it been hidden as in your example above?
There are a couple of other things we can try, but this is a good starting point.

  • Acrobat 8 Pro checks for updates non stop

I have acrobat 8 pro on a 10.5.8 computer. I was able to update it to 8.2.1 by downloading and doing the updates manually. But now the updater is running constantly. It doesn't find any new updates, and as soon as I click on Quit, it starts all over again. When I click on Preferences and uncheck Check for Updates, that doesn't make any difference and it goes back to looping the adobe updater. I have several other computers that I did the same procedure on to get to 8.2.1 and they don't have this problem. Any ideas short of doing an uninstall/reinstall?

Thanks for chiming in, Bill, but it seems like you missed my comment about checking my other computer, same OS, same Acrobat 8, and it installed fine into 64-bits. It didn't ask for any files from other disks, and I've been using it on that system for almost two years in that environment. I am puzzled, though, as to why all files needed for installation of any program would not be included on the installation disk.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro is showing CMYK in spot color document

    Hi,
I created a PDF using Adobe Illustrator CS4, and although I am only using 2 spot colors, both, Illustrator and Acrobat are showing CMYK plates in the Separations Preview and Output Preview. When I turn off the Spot plates, there is nothing in the document. Could you please help me figure out why is this happenning?
    Thanks

Acrobat will always show the CMYK framework - even if there's no CMYK in there. You'll also notice that if the file contained RGB, calRGB, LAB etc - it also shows in the Output Preview as CMYK since it's in simulation mode (enough of that for now)!
You might want to use the SHOW feature in Output Preview or even use a preflight profile to double check ...
    Cheers,
    Jon

  • Acrobat show 90% blk in CMYK mode

After creating an InDesign file for CMYK print I export to PDF. I use 100% blk for the build. Upon opening and checking preflight colors my Black always shows up as 90% blk.
I've tried every setting, tried EPS through distiller, tried Word files it all comes out 90% blk. Yet when I send the file to another mac, apen in acrobat it shows the BLK as 100%
I've run an update, even installd new CS 6 and it still does it. Still cant get it to work. Dose anyone have a solution?
I've heard it could be a plugin issue? Any help appreciated.
    Thanks
    Tim 2 Taylor

I know you've explained it but I can't quite get my head around it so let me ask so I understand properly.
You have two computers, one where this happens (we'll call it BADMAC) and one where it doesn't happen (GOODMAC).
When do you see the problem?
    1. File made on BADMAC, viewing on BADMAC (I'll assume that's a yes)
    2. File made on BADMAC, viewing on GOODMAC.
    3. File made on GOODMAC from the SAME InDesign file, viewing on BADMAC?
    4. File made on GOODMAC from the SAME InDesign file, viewing on GOODMAC?

  • Can I set Preflight to detect non-white overprints?

    Hello,
I have set up a preflight profile that automatically checks for white overprints, but we have had a few issues where non-white objects haven't been detected and without knowing what the original color is supposed to be it's not obvious by looking.
I am aware of the overprint preview toggle and of the option to highlight overprint in Output Preview. I was wondering if I could save a step/simplify things by setting my preflight profile to automatically check ANY overprint, not just white.
    Thanks!
    Emily
