Acrobat prints 1st page in landscape & all others fine

Hello All
The client with Adobe Reader 8 on a Windows Xp Pro SP2. On every PDF document - whether from online or internally within the company - when printing to a b/w or color printer, the very first page comes in landscape format and all the other pages print out just fine in portrait format. Now surely there are documents that are created in landscape and can be seen that way but this is for normal documents that in other PCs print just fine.
Any information is gladly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Leon

You might try printing to another PDF and see if you get the same result. If not, it might be a driver issue. You might also try a different printer if available. The problem is to run down where the problem is. Have you checked the lower left corner of each page of the PDF to see if it is indeed 11X17, or the following pages are actually small even there (I assume you may have full page view on or full width).

    Hi,
The instructions (from your link) say you have to connect USB, how do you connect it now ? HP does not supply driver but Windows 8 & 8.1 MAY have generic/basic driver for it. The link also says you have to use Windows update. Amazing to see a 15-20years old printer is  still up and running, only the Operating system kills it.

  • Batch printing 1st page always bad

I have Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional. I have all of the updates, running on XP pro.
Whenever I batch print with it the 1st pdf is always to the wrong scale. All of the rest of the pdf's will be correct.
The pdf's are drawings. The 1st pdf will not show the complete drawing.
If I change the order then the pdf that was wrong will be correct and another pdf will be to the wrong scale.
I have this problem no matter how I try to do the batch printing.
I have moved the files to a directory and then batch printed them soley from Acrobat.
I can open an email in Outlook 2007 and tell it to print attachements, same problem.
I have tried it with numerous pdf's. It is always the 1st pdf in the batch. All the rest of the pdf's will be correct
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thank You

    Hello Jeff,
The problem you are having with the Canon PS and UFR2 driver is caused by the Paper Size > US Letter not being listed as a supported paper size. Instead, these two drivers have Letter, not US Letter. Therefore, when you do have the Page Setup > Format set to Any Printer and the Paper Size set to US Letter, the finishing options are not available.
You will notice an interesting phenomena via the Page Setup pane. Open an application like TextEdit, go to Page Setup and have the Format set to Any Printer and the Paper Size set to US Letter. Then change the Format menu to the Canon driver and watch the Paper Size automatically change to Letter.
The solution to this is to delete the CanonPS and UFR2 driver and use the new Canon 'CUPS' PS v2.11 driver. This driver has US Letter as a supported paper size, so you can leave 'Format for' at 'Any Printer'. And the driver supports both the 5075 and C5185, so you models are covered. Note that you will still have to use the Fiery driver for the other C5185.
Re the mailbox, the format setting won't affect this function. Your comment about PCL not supporting it is interesting. The PCL driver on Windoze definitely works with mailbox so you must have some other gremlins if that is not available.

  • Adobe Reader 9.1 only printing 1st Page of Documents

When printing documents from Adobe Reader 9.1.0, it will only print the 1st page of the document, even if I have 'All' selected when my print dialouge box pops up.
    Any ideas on a fix?

    Hello:
You might also wish to supply us with the printer make/model and if it's a local or network printer. Similar issues in the past have been resolved by updating the print driver.

  • Launching the printing of a PDF document, all other programs remain locked

After opening a PDF file with Acrodat Reader, when I click for printing the document, my notebook (window vista) remains blocked for two minutes.
During that time all other programs cannot be run: for example I cannot even run the Task Manager.
I currently use Acrobat Reader 9.4 but I noticed the same problem also with previous releases.
Do you know if this behaviour is normal or I have some setup problem, or virus, or what else?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi there,
You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.
Thanks, let me know if the update helps,

  • Officejet pro 8000 wireless will not print from windows photo viewer. all other diagnostics ok.

OS is Windows 7 Home Premium x 64. All functions and printing are ok with this unit, excepting for printing through Windows Photo Viewer. Have latest software, drivers, etc., and all HP software and hardware diagnostic tools check out ok.
Checked Windows event log, and get Event 350, PrintService - Document  failed to print and was deleted because of corruption in the spooled file. The associated driver is: . Try printing the document again.
There is no additional info on this event listed in the Microsoft TechNet Events and Errors Message Reporting Center
When this happens, all of the lights on the printer flash very rapidly.
To correct, I clear the queue through Explorer, Troubleshoot, and unplug printer to reset.
    Any suggestions appreciated.
    Thanks

FYI, I got this to work by treating my printer as a wired printer, even though it allegedly has wireless functionality. Luckily, my ohter devices can print to it wirelessly. At least I don't need to replace my printer just yet...

  • Sharepoint 2010 - Home Page not displaying, all other pages work fine

The web page URL <server>/sitepages/Home.aspx is not displaying when accessed. All other pages work fine. We changed the default welcome page to another page, and that works. When we try to access the Home.aspx, it displays "An unexpected error
occurred" message. The Home.aspx only contains a couple of Lists, with Links, and a calendar. The other odd thing is that the Home.aspx displays in SharePoint designer in Advanced Edit mode, but won't display in a browser. Any ideas?

    Hi Isepic,
    1) Check the approval of the page (Home.aspx) whether it is in pending state .
    2) OR might be some problematic webpart is added in the page. You can try to close it and access. To do that, you can try to access the web part maintenance page of home.aspx and test by closing the webpart one by one.
To access the maintenance page, pass the parameters ?contents=1 after the home.aspx
           For example, http://site url/home.aspx?contents=1
    3) Also, check the ULS logs after accessing the home.aspx to know what is happening.

Delete the bad account, saving the data (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.4/en/mh1061.html refers), recreate it, using the same username/password combo, open up the saved data dmg (in /Users/Deleted Users/), and slowly copy things from the saved data back. • Acrobat prints one page at correct size/rest are resized

    Hello,
I have an issue with one of our users when printing 11x17. The first page prints at the correct size, but all the rest are resized to tiny thumbnails. Roughly 0.5x1 inches in the top right corner. I've tried reinstalling our Canon print driver with no luck. Identical computers running the same print drivers and software versions do not experience this issue. Her specs are below. Any ideas on whether this is an Adobe issue or something else?

  • HP Photosmart C4585 - can't print test pages + copies are all reduced in size

I have 2 problems with an HP Photosmart C4585 All-in-one printer.
Firstly, I cannot print test prints ie 'Network Configuration Page' and the 'Run Wireless Network Test' page. It sounds as though it's printing but it produces blank sheets.
Secondly, trying to Copy A4 originals to A4 paper the printout is always reduced in size to about a quarter of the sheet (more like photo size) - no matter which setting I select. It's also printed blue.
The printer is not connected to a computer but I successfully print A4 documents in black, from an iPad using the HP ePrint app. So it is just the copy facility which is malfunctioning.
    Can anyone help? Thanks.

    Hi there,
Lets eliminate software interference by downloading and running the print and scan doctor located here:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03275041&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
It can fix a lot on its own and if not give a better idea of what is going on.

  • Deskjet 3050 does only print JPG files in color - all other docs are only printed in black and white

    Dear All,
I have a problem with my Deskjet 3050 Printer. (USB connected with my laptop).
My printer won't print colored documents in color but only in black and white (except for JPG files (photos) which are printed in color.
Word documents or PDF files (for example) are always printed in black and white - even if these are in color.
Copying colored pages with my printer is no problem.
This works perfectly well. The printer is connected to my PC via USB.
The cartridges (color and black and white) are practically new and original HP cartridges.
Could the problem be related to the printer settings which I might have changed by accident.
Thanks in advance for your advise.

  • Adobe Reader printing 4 pages, over top each other on 1 page

I created a form for my office in LiveCycle. It's 4 pages with lots of fields to input data. I extended features to Reader users, which is what my coworkers use when they fill it out. It worked fine for several months. Suddenly, the form is printing all 4 of it's pages over top of each other on 1 page.
I've printed the same file from a different computer on a different printer, and it comes out fine. I've also printed it from a different computer, to the same printer, and it comes out fine. So, therefore, I believe the problem lies with that specific machine, and/or perhaps its Reader settings. But I've gone through all the print and document settings and can't find anything that looks out of the ordinary.
Can anyone shed some light on what might be causing this? Is it a print setting, or is there a way to reset Reader's settings to default?

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />

  • Adobe Reader/Acrobat Printing Issues - Weird Fonts / Characters - all versions

    Hi everybody.
I'm experiencing a very nasty issue with both adobe reader (last version) and acrobat.
When I print something with text, i get only strange characters, mostly symbols.
I cannot get out of this, I tried everything.
    Already tried
    1) print as image does not works, it's the same
    2) the box in pdf printer " print only with fonts on pc" is checked
    3) reinstalled both adobe applications
    3) reinstalled printer drivers
    4) i've installed and reinstalled those so called missing fonts but nothing
Next step is to change PDF reader. Any help?

    unfortunately it didn't work.
It's weird how an application (company) like this could not provide those kind of such easy fixes. I'm not expecting updates or so, but at least a troubleshooting paragraph about this specific problem.
This problem is well known, there are plenty of pages talking about it.
I just installed Foxit reader and printed pages were perfect. This demonstrate's Adobe Reader/Acrobat fault.
