Acrobat Pro 7.1 in Win7 (64bit) Printer Settings must be confirmed twice

I have an customer which I just delievered 3 new Workstations with Windows 7 (64 bit) to. Each one is running Adobe Acrobat 7.1 Professional.
The issue is that each time when they want to print, and they want to customize printer device configurations, they enter the menu. Then click on "Ok", but have to go back into the configuration once more and agree, so that the printer dialog accepts the new settings.
I suspected it to be a simple dialog error, and thus tried to print after confirming just once, but the printer indeed printer with wrong settings then.
Even if it is not a vital error, our customers understandably complain about the workflow.
Is that an known issue? Does anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi,
The machines being used are:
ACER Predator G5900
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Intel Core i5 Processor 650
4GB DDR3 RAM Memory
We use several different pieces of software to reach a printer.
These are:
Acrobat Pro 9 (Most Used)
Microsoft Word
Océ PRISMAprepare (Adobe Product)
Adobe InDesign CS5
Adobe Illustrator CS5
Adobe Photoshop CS5
We also use several different printers.
These are:
Xerox DocuColour 242
Xerox DocuColour 250
Xerox DocuColour 260
Océ VarioPrint 1065
Océ VarioPrint 6250
Océ VarioPrint 6320
HP Laserjet 4250
Samsung ML-2570
And we use Fiery Command Workstation Suite 5.5 to process colour jobs once sent to a Xerox Fiery.
We have tried PCL6, PS and PPD drivers for all of the printers and the problem occurs across all Adobe programs, across all printers but only on these Acer Predator machines. Given that we have no other Windows 7 machines in the building I can't vouch for the stability of the machine itself but it seems most peculiar and we felt it would likely be something bugging between Acrobat and Windows 7 64-bit but the further we go down the road of investigation the less likely it seems that this is the case.
In terms of key strokes ctrl+p or File>Print all arrive at the same outcome - having to select the printer properties, then click ok, then click properties again, then click ok again before the settings embed!
Thanks for your time looking in to this.
Regards,
Darren.

  • I have attempted to install Acrobat Pro as a trial, just to print some magic tricks for my daughter

I have attempted to install acrobat pro as a trial just to print some magic tricks for my daughter. The acrobat installed but when i attempt to print the pdf file it says i have to sign in to acrobat but then it goes round and round, (i am currently signed in to adobe,) and says over and over 'retry' either my computer is not connected to the internet, which it is, or the clock on my computer is wrong, which it isnt. help????

That's a lot of trouble to go to to print something - you can use the free Adobe Reader for that.

  • I upgraded laptop to Windows 8.1, but when I open Acrobat Pro XI, my Windows Taskbar disappears.  I must restart PC.

    Hi there,
This is exactly what it says in the title.
I got a new laptop with Windows 8.1 (from W7), but when I open Acrobat Pro XI, my Windows Taskbar disappears.  I must restart PC in order to get the taskbar back.
Has anyone come across this issue?
    Thanks.

    Hi Paul ,
I would like to know does this happen in case of Acrobat only or while accessing any other applications as well ?
Are you able to see the taskbar before you access any application?Or it just disappears when you launch Acrobat?
You can try repairing Acrobat once and see if that fixes the issue.
If that does not work ,you can try uninstalling Acrobat once and install it again.
Please refer to the following as well and see if that helps.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.5.0 will not print SRA3 size paper

I created an Adobe InDesign file 320x450mm (SRA3) and saved it as a a High Quality PDF. However, when I print from Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 with SRA3 paper size settings, it defaults to A4 and the printer will not register the SRA3 paper size request. The tech from Canon updated the printer driver which increased print dialog options such as Paper Handling, Paper Source etc. (which I didn't have before) and spent over an hour running tests. We both agreed there was a software issue since there were not issues from other software:
I can print SRA3 files from InDesign and Microsoft Word, but not Adobe Acrobat Pro.
This is an ongoing problem since I often receive artwork in PDF format at this size.
My workaround is to place the PDF into InDesign, line up the crops by eye and print to SRA3 paper which works fine until I need to do a double sided print which becomes slightly innacurate and often time consuming.
    Canon printer driver specs:
    V2.0
    iR-ADV C5045/5051 PS (UK)

What happens if you select other paper sizes? Also ensure that 'choose paper source by PDF page size' is not checked at your print dialog.
Kindly let us know your results and if possible please forward us your pdf at [email protected]
Looking forward to help you out.
    Thanks

  • Acrobat Pro 8.0 CS3 - PDF file print in Mac OS 10.5.8 fixed!

Since upgrade from version 7.0, Acrobat Pro PDF 8.0 printer kept pausing and wouldn't print document.
I previously had same trouble with the Acrobat PDF 7.0 printer, but eventually got that to work with a command entered via terminal mode:
    Adobe PDF print (OS 10.5.6) work-around using UNIX command entered via the Terminal;
In Terminal type the following if you are using Acrobat 7.x:
    sudo chmod 4755 /usr/libexec/cups/backend/pdf700
    Plan A for today: Tried same thing for v. 8.0;
In Terminal type the following if you are using Acrobat 8.x:
    sudo chmod 4755 /usr/libexec/cups/backend/pdf800
    This didn't work, so went to Plan B;
The other  suggested approach is to remove various PDF printer library files and then follow with the Adobe "repair" function.
    Remove following files and then "Repair" from Adobe menu;
    /Library/Printers/PPD Plugins/AdobePDFPDE800.plugin
    /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/en.lproj/ADPDF8.ppd
    ~/Library/Printers/Adobe PDF 8.0.app
    /private/etc/cups/ppd/AdobePDF8.ppd
    /usr/libexec/cups/backend/pdf800
    This didn't work before, so went to Plan C;
I looked through all discussion threads again, a few mentioned installing latest update to Acrobat Pro 8 ... I had already done that, or so I thought ... I went again to update menu command within Acrobat, and it plainly reported that "Adobe doesn't have any updates at this time" just as it had before.
I then compared my installed rev. version vs. the latest updates available for manual download, and found I was several behind.
I then manually installed each one in sequence and towards the end of the process, Acrobat opened a pop-up window telling me there were updates available, and asked if I wanted to install them. Go figure, one of the manual updates fixed the menu updater not working correctly. Not sure which one, but I eventually landed at version 8.3.1. I repeated "Plan B", and now the PDF printer is working again.
I guess with trial & error, even a blind squirrel will find a nut ...

  • PDF files created in Acrobat Pro X for Mac will not print correctly on Windows - text is missing

I recently created a PDF file with pictures and texts in Acrobat Pro X. However, when I send it to my coworkers (who work on Windows computers), the printed file contains only images, and no text. I am using Century Gothic - a font that is installed on these Windows computers. When they open the files, they can see the text and everything exactly as it is meant to be. However, upon printing, the text disappears completely.
We are using a Konica Minolta Bizhub printer to complete these printouts. When I print from my computer (the Mac), the files print perfectly on this printer. However, when using the same printer, a Windows user cannot print the text in the PDF's.
Has anyone else run across this problem? I am thinking of trying to embed fonts, however it doesn't seem like it would make much of a difference (since the fonts show up fine on a Windows computer anyways). Is there a known issue with printing PDF's on a Konica Minolta printer?

The archive format you used embeds all fonts, as does Press and Print type job settings. The standard job settings does not embed all fonts and that might be where the problem was.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, "This document could not Printed" then "No pages were selected"

Windows 7, Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 (latest update)
I have been researching this issue for days and can't find a solution. I am using Acrobat not Reader, there is not an option to uncheck the "enable protected mode" in Arcobat. The only error Adobe says I can have printing is different from the one I'm getting.  Can anyone answer this?

    Hi Josh ,
Try re installing the printer subsystem and see if that works.

  • Mac Acrobat Pro v9.4.1 will not print to HP Envy 100

Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.4.1 for the Mac on Mac OS X 10.6.5 or 10.6.6 was printing PDFs find to my new HP Envy 100 printer.
I have the latest driver updates on the printer.
I've tried deleting Acrobat preferences files - a common tactic to take on a Mac that clears up lots of issues. It didn't this time.
I can take the very same PDF files and print them from the Mac OS X utility Preview just fine with no issues. Try Acrobat no luck.
Not sure how to proceed right now. I see Acrobat go through the motions of printing and I even see the HP printer icon appear in the Finder dock like it does anytime you print from an application, but it quickly disappears and then the printer never does anything. Nothing is queued. It is almost as if Acrobat sent a zeroed out or null file to the printer queue.

I have the almost exact same problem. Popped up out of nowhere. When I tried to print something today wirelessly from my Macbook, the computer tried endlessly to connect to the network, but failed. Everything is fine when I directly connect the printer and the Macbook. I have now deleted that networked printer from my list and when I try to add a new printer, the system is not finding any printers.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Acrobat Pro XI on Mac forget default printer.  How do I fix this?

I just updated and now Acrobat Pro XI seems to go present the printers in alphabetical order rather than the one I have chosen as my system-wide default.  I can cleaned all cashes, repaired permissions and deleted and re-selected my default printer.  I am running Mountain Lion 10.8.2.  Any ideas?
    Thanks.

    Hello Atui,
I have the same problem.  I've read this thread and then checked to make sure I had the most recent software.  The software says it's version 11.0.0.  So I went to the creative cloud updater to update the software and it says my software is up to date.  How can that be?  And what should I do?
    Thanks,

  • Acrobat Pro 9.5 crashing with Multiple prints

I have Acrobat 9.5 pro on multiple machines in my office, when trying to print to ANY printer, even to another PDF, if I select more than 200ish pages (8 1/2x11-simple prints), it crashes Adobe Acrobat. This happens wether its a binder or a portfolio. Also when when printing from Acrobat, it really hogs down the systems.
Says no repair is needed, and I know my system is strong enough (these are built for High graphics CAD use)
    Windows 7 Ultimate
    Intel i7-2700k CPU @3.5GHz  3.90 GHz
    16 GB ram
    64bit OS
Any Suggestions or patches would be grateful. I would really like to be able to send my 400+ page PDF and walk away.
    -Lisa

    I already have 9.5.4.
I have over 500Gigs Free space on my HD
I print to B&W, and Color and just back to the Adobe Driver (to create another PDF as a test-and still crashes if I attempt more than about 200 PDFs). I have tried it with 6 Different Printers, even at Economy printing. I always keep all my drivers (like software updates) to the latest and greatest. in fact, I checked to make sure they were all when I got the 1st crash.
If I select more than about 200, the entire program crashes, it doesn't even attempt to start printing.
    Printer Spooling Not on.
    Just printing simple B & W line drawings (at 8 1/2 X 11)
Here are just a few printers I have tried...
Kyocera TASKalfa 520i KX PS and PCL
    Xerox 4110 PCL & PS
    Xerox 4112 PCL & PS
    Xerox 7545 PS & PCL

  • Why won't acrobat pro recognize my hp 2610 xi printer on my mac?

I've got a MacBook Pro witih CS5 and Acrobat 9 Pro and an HP Photosmart 2610xi all in one. When I open Acrobat to Create PDF from scanner it doesn't recognize my printer. I've been online to many different sites talking about need to install S.A.N.E. in order for my computer to recognize my printer as TWAIN. I can't seen to get the SANE sw to install properly to fix my problem. Can anyone recommend or give me information on how to remedy this situation?
    Thanks!
    Cheryl

Have you tried a new cable from the All in one to the computer? is there a separate connection from the scanner section to computer of another part of the all in-one? sound like you have an issue with the scanner itself.
If everythung is working  when you go to acrobat and go to document menu and shoose make PDF > from Scanner. when window open ther should be button choose device  when clicked SANE or SANE TWAIN chould show up. If it doesn't there is a connection problem between the scanner and the computer. If It Brand new out of the box it might be broke or something got unpluged. If brand new out of box they might switch for another unit.
Does it work as a scanner in any other program?

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0.0 PDF docs print differently to different printers

I have a a saved PDF file.(it was created in FileMaker).
It looks perfect on screen.  It has a signature line____________ date_________ at the bottom of the page.
When I send to our color printer, the signature line moves up to the middle of the page, which is where the text info ends.
When I send to my black and white printer, the signature line remains at the bottom of the page where it belongs.
I have also resent the same pdf to 2 other printers, 1 black and white, and 1 color, and it prints correctly.
So basically, 3 out of 4 printers print correctly.
I have contacted out IT department and was told it was an Adobe problem and not a color printer driver problem.
I don't understand that part of it.
Why would a pdf move information around based on the printer it is sent to?
    Any suggestions?
Is is an Adobe setting for that color printer or is it the printers problem?
    Thanks in advance.

I have now checked other people in my departments Adobe versions.
I have Adobe Pro V9.0.0, and does not print correctly.
1 person has Adobe XI Pro and prints correctly.
1 person has Adobe Pro 9.5.5 and prints correctly.
1 person has Adobe Pro V9.0.0 and does not print correctly
I have now installed the available upgrades which only took me to 9.2.0 and still prints incorrectly.
I wil try and find the other updates and see if that helps.
    thx.

  • Acrobat Pro 9 shrinks Word docs when printing

I have converted a Word 2003 doc using AA Pro 9 by printing to the PDF printer. The PDF pages have larger margins than the Word pages, when printed. I did not have this prob with prior versions.
Any hints to correct this would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Doug

I'm having a similar problem, when I use the convert to Adobe from Word or Create a PDF from file in Adobe sections of text are missing and the natural page breaks are changes  (i.e. a paragraph will move down to the next page instead of breaking across a page) which throughs off the page number and flow from the original Word document.  If I 'print' the file to the Adobe print driver I do not have as much of a problem.  I'm using a demo version of 9.1 pro extended.  I did not have this problem with 7.1 Professional.  Any suggestions?

Ever since updating to Mavericks I have to tell the printer EVERY, SINGLE TIME I print, what to do...ie what paper size to use.  I have the correct setting in Settings/Preferences and the drivers are up to date.
What's up with this??  Anyone having the same problem or have a solution.  This is getting old having to jump hoops just to print a document!
    Thanks!

In the Print dialog, select Show Presets from the Presets menu. In the sheet that drops down, uncheck the box marked
Reset Presets Menu to "Default Settings" After Printing
Click OK. Then select Last Used Settings or a custom preset that you created from the menu.
