Acrobat Pro 7 / Words are not separated
Hi guys,
A friend of mine has Acrobat Pro 7 on a Windows Vista OS. She need to select text from a pdf and paste it on a Word document. The strange happens when pasting all the words are not separated by any space they are glued together. Is there any way to correct this? I tried paste special and it is the same.
You can check the PDF i am talking about at
http://www.irb.com/mm/document/training/0/beginners20guide20es_7393.pdf
it is a begginners guide to Rugby trainning by the IRB. I do not know if the PDF has some special configuration that does not let you copy and paste text in a regular way.
Any ideas?
Thanks and cheers,
Sebastian
Basically Michael means that Adobe does not support AA7 for VISTA. It may or may not work. If you ask them a question they will tell you to upgrade and likely hangup. Several folks have been successful with AA7 working on VISTA and periodically they come back with something they found that did not work. A similar result occured for AA4 on XP as I recall the older forums. Typically folks had to ultimately upgrade.
As far as AA7, I will go to my laptop shortly and try to check the same thing I did with AA8 on VISTA and post the result. That way you can see for yourself the result. If it works on my AA7 and not yours, it will likely be the VISTA thing, but not sure.
I just checked AA7 on XP and it copied from the file to WORD fine. All of the fonts are embedded, so that is not an issue. I had use local fonts turned on, but tried it with use local fonts turned off also, with the same results. The results are below with the same section I copied last time (just to the right of the photo on page 2):
Dos siglos después, el Rugby ha
evolucionado hasta convertirse en
uno de los deportes más populares
del mundo, con millones de personas
jugando, observando, y disfrutando
del Juego.
This shows the spaces, so the only conclusion I can reach is that it is a VISTA issue. I don't have any other ideas. Bill

Acrobat Pro 9 is not compatible with Windows 7
Acrobat Pro 9 is not compatible with Windows 7. How do I upgrade my version?
Thanks,
JohnWhere did you get that information (other than Win 7 is not listed in the compatibility list)? I have been using AA9 on Windows 7 for several years (it is a 32-bit system). Did you try to install it or some other issue crop up? You may need to be sure you install the updates, but otherwise it should work. Even folks with AA8 have been successful on Win 7 (at least that is what they have reported), though they are likely to have some minor problems at times.
My Win7 came with Acrobat 9 when Win 7 first came out and has worked fine. If you have upgraded OFFICE to 2010 or later, then you would only be able to print, not use PDF Maker.
That being said, it is still a good idea to go ahead and upgrade. AA9 is the oldest version qualifying for the upgrade to AAXI. -

This question will probably get responses most quickly if posted in Adobe's own forums, since it's about an Adobe product and not the iMac itself.

.pdf works in Acrobat Pro 8 but not Adobe Reader 8
I have a dynamic .pdf that I created in Livecycle Designer.
It works perfectly in Acrobat Pro 8 but not Adobe Reader 8.
There is a function that highlights a form field orange. It is called from the enter event of every form field.
There is another function that highlights a form field red if the field contains an invalid value. This is called from the exit event of every form field.
When I enter a field in Reader 8, it highlights orange as it should but does not allow me to enter a value and it adds an additional blank page to the .pdf. Also, it does not highlight red as it should on exit.
If I remove the enter script, the exit script works fine.
I sent the .pdf to somebody to test and it worked perfectly for him in Reader 8.00 but not for me in 8.00 or 8.01 which makes me think maybe it is just a problem with my settings.
Can anybody help?
Thank you.Okay, I just upgraded to Acrobat Pro 8.1 and the .pdf fails there now too.
So my problem is not an inconsistency between Acrobat and Reader, it is that the .pdf works in the earlier 8.0 but not the latest 8.1.
I am happy to send the .pdf to anybody who wants to see it. Hopefully the problem is with my code and not the update.
Thanks. -
Solid color text boxes in MS Word are not importing to pdf
Solid color text boxes in MS Word are not importing to pdf ... text boxes with pics import and convert fine. Using Word 2013. Any ideas?
I'm brand new to the forums, so sorry if I'm not asking correctly or asking something already covered.Hi Sara!
Thanks for the response.
I'm uploading a Word file to my Adobe PDF Packet Annual subscription. I'm running Windows 8.0. Normally I will create a document in MS Word 2013, save it into our dropbox and then when I need to send it to someone (printer in this case) I will log onto Adobe PDF and upload the file to convert. Once it's converted, I'll send the pdf to the client or printer. In this case I created a poster with our logo (in a text box), text, a star (in a text box) and a few solid colored rectangles. Everything converted beautifully - as usual - except the solid text boxes.
I've used Adobe PDF Packet for a few years and have never seen this. Any ideas or other questions?
thanks, Dave -
Adobe Acrobat Pro X will not open PDFs
Hello,
My Adobe Acrobat Pro X will not open PDFs. This happens twice a month and is becoming extremely irritating. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, repairing and a system restore. What can I do to make this problem go away?
Thank you.To check that it is an Acrobat problem, open Acrobat from the programs list and try to open a PDF from the file menu. I suspect this will work fine from what I read into your post. I suspect that somehow your OS is changing file associations. In that case, right click on a PDF and select Open With>Select Default Program and then select Acrobat. Be sure the check box for default program has been checked.

Some words are not highlighting on my read-aloud epubs after updating IOS 6.0.1 and iBooks 3.0.1 on both my iPad 2 and iPad 3. They are working absolutely fine earlier. I even updated the latest version of iBooks 3.0.2 but nothing is working. Can anybody help?
Hi spati,
I ran into this problem as well. Seems like something funky going on with iBooks 3. Anyways, I had to tweak my read-aloud clip starts in the smil. Where the word was not highlighting, I added a few milliseconds to the timing until the word started highlighting again. Not the most ideal solution, and not sure what exactly causes it because 90% of the words were just fine, but it seemed to fix the problem. Note prior to the problem happening, I had all my clip start timings = clip end timings for the previous word, so there were no gaps.

I have paid my subscription for Adobe Acrobat Pro but can not install it… I always get an error message …also I did not receive any instalation code...
With the subscription you sign in with your Adobe ID that you used to order the subscription. By installation code, I assume you mean serial number. You do not get one with the subscription, but use your Adobe ID.

After downloading quicktime 7, I entered the registration code. The "pro" appeared on the quicktime logo and the "buy QT Pro" button went away however the pro features are not "on" or usable.
After downloading quicktime 7, I entered the registration code. The "pro" appeared on the quicktime logo and the "buy QT Pro" button went away however the pro features are not "on" or usable.
Did you open/load a file to the app? The "Pro" features are context adaptive and only "turn on" if content is both available and the feature can be applied to the particular type of content loaded. -
Both the letters and numbers on my mac book pro (2009) are not working correctly, but the caplocks key still lights up,the delete key is like a back key,the o key is enter, etc. I think I must of pressed a button but I cannot find numlock or the action to fix it back to normal.
Need Help PleaseTry this. Open one of your files. The window that contains your picture is named at the top. Command click on the name and you'll see the entire path starting with its name and then moving to the folder, the folder it is contained in, etc all the way to down to the hard drive volume name. This should tell you where to find the folder.

Acrobat Pro XI Will Not Print Word Document with a Rotated Table
I have a MS Word document that is mostly text, but include a table that has been rotated in a text box to fit on the page. When I try to print to PDF using Acrobat Pro XI, the document crashes at the page the table is on.
I have tried several attempts to print using the Acrobat Printer, convert to PDF feature and trying to print just the page alone. Acrobat will simply not print word document with a rotated table.
Any idea how to fix this?
Word 2013, Windows 7, Acrobat Pro XI 11.0.06In the full document, the print to PDF goes only as far as the table, then ends - not printing the table. The remaining pages are not printed.
For example, I have trimmed the file down to just the table page, and included links to it, and a copy of the PDF it generated.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/60543835/Forums/Table%20Sample_140903.docx
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/60543835/Forums/Table%20Sample_140903.pdf
The error message I now get when I try to print is: "There is not enough memory or disk space to repaginate or print this document."
However, with the Task manager open, the memory never seems to get above half of the available (the graph bar fluctuates a little, but stays stable")
The page prints to a regular HP or Xerox printer with no problems. -
I recently upgraded to Office 2013. Everything seems to be working fine with Acrobat Pro XI, except when I try to combine Word 2013 files into a single PDF, I get this message: "Acrobat does not support the conversion of one or more of your files to PDF. . . ." Please help. Thanks.
I've opened both Word and Excel. The Acrobat ribbon is showing in both programs and I did some test things and they seem to be working fine. However, I still cannot see or use formats other than pdf in the Acrobat Pro program. Is there another setting that needs to be adjusted?

Acrobat Pro 9 (nine) not working with Office 365 subscription edition.
Hello all,
I have a new subscription and new download of Office 365. The product is buggy generally and makes really frustrating changes to links to other programs that are sometimes difficult to figure out.
Specifically, Word 2013 will not communicate with Acrobat Pro 9
I have tried creating a PDF from Word via Print to PDF but that makes both programs hang; I have tried saving the Word doc, opening AAP and using "Create PDF" from Pro, but this also makes both programs hang.
I was able to create ONE PDF via the Print To option, but since then, both applications hang every time. Super frustrating.
Anyone have this problem, and, more importantly, a solution?
Thanks.Hi Julie ,
It seems to be a compatibility issue .
Please refer to the following link for the same .
https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/compatible-web-browsers-pdfmaker-applications.html
Try Updating it to the latest version.
Launch Acrobat>Navigate to Help>Check for Updates
See if that helps.

Acrobat Pro 8 will not print some graphics, any ideas?
I am printing from Word 2007 to an Acrobat Pro 8 PDF. When I do so, some of the graphics will not show up. They seem to be in the document as when I highlight them, they show they are blocked and I can actually copy the stuff by highlighting it and copying, but it will not print or display.
This seems to be a new problem, as it worked fine, then I am not sure what trigered it, but now it will not print all the graphics. The graphics are just JPGs
Note the document looks good on the screen, but when I create a PDF or print the PDF, it will not print.
I also see this a lot when I use my PrintShop Mail program, which uses Acrobat to genterate it files.
Any ideas?
Regards,
GeoffSince Acrobat is not an Apple product, you would probably be better off posting your question on Adobe's own forums as they would be geared more toward the issue than an Apple forum:
