Acrobat Pro 9 - new update gave new pop up

I just updated my pro 9 version with an auto update for today... I now get a pop up window that prompts me when I am closing out of document that gives me three options:
1)     close this document without removing information
2)     Remove this information and do not close document
3)     Remove information and then close document
Is this referencing the text fields (ex.  if I forgot to clear form as I was testing out what I have created in my fillable form)
or does it reference my form fields that I have edited ( the 2nd layer - 1st layer being the original form sent to me for converting into fillable pdf) or both?
I have been choosing 1 to be safe, but was just wondering if anyone else gets this pop up and what 'information" it might be referring to in this new pop up.
Thanks so much!

Perfect!   You were right again!  I had forgotten I
checked that box the other night when I was playing
around with things... this morning as I worked on my
new template I had just updated... so I just did not
put two and two together!
Thank you kindly Bill!

Need to transfer Acrobat Pro to new computer, old computer crashed so I can't disable/uninstall.  What do I do?

Install it on the new machine, if you have run out of Activations then you will probably need to contact Adobe and explain what happened as far as the old computer crash and burning.

  • Acrobat pro 9.0 update needed

I own a DVD set of CS3 Design Standard for Mac, including a second DVD named CS3.3 including Acrobat 9.
I could not access the DVDs with the Remote Drive function of OSX (I am on a Macbook Air now, without DVD drive). Thus I downloaded CS3 from Adobe and entered the serial number. Works. However, I cannot update to 3.3/Acrobat 9 as there is no download available from Adobe for Mac.
Using a proper external DVD drive should work, I guess - if I can get hold of one, not much motivated to buy one, though.
Or is there another possibility of updating?
    Many thanks in advance.

    Jeff, thanks.
    I'll try the USB thing.
However, I do not think that this is aspecific  Acrobat issue, as the
original CS3 DVD didn't work either through remote, so I downloaded it
    from Adobe, which worked fine.

Acrobat Pro won't update from 10.1.6 to 10.1.7, any tips, on Mac…?

    One of two things:
    1.  Go to the Terminal App and type the word "sudo" and hit the Enter/Return key.  If it comes back with a permissions error then seek from Apple to correct it.
    2.  If there is no permissions error in the Terminal app then go to the installation log at "/var/log/install.log" or "/private/var/log/install.log".  Open it up and see if you find an error about failing to write to the file:
./postinstall: Error in converting the plist /Library/Preferences/com.adobe.PDFAdminSettings.plist to xml1 format
If you get the error above then delete the file at the location and try updating again

  • ?switching acrobat pro to new computer without org. disk?

I have acrobat pro on my old laptop, but cannot find the disk to put it on my new computer.
I do have the serial number.
    Any suggestions?

You might be able to download the trial version of the software thru the sitee linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.  Search the various Creative Suite sections for whichever version it is.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

  • I need to reactivate ACROBAT PRO on new hard drive

I've read all the similar questions and responses from users and ADOBE web responders and determined the agrivating circular nature of the adobe's direction. Why is this so hard and why is ADOBE so unhelpful. This should be so easy. Why agrivate customers and owners of these products ?
ADOBE, please just provide the contact infomration in your resposne to resolve the issue. Please do not direct me into the infernal loop.
    Thanks

    OK today, five days after this post;
Lot's of perseverance which included some pretty frustrating wait times and disconnects on the 1800 833-6687 support number over the last couple of days. Today I finally got to speak with an Indian Tech gentleman. He spent 20 minutes on the line with me and was able to reset my activation for both my ADOBE products (PSE 9 and ACROBAT Pro 9). Fantastic help and so cordial and respectful.
Thanks ADOBE. You could make this easier for customers and I filled out my tech experience feedback survey to let you know that. But your Tech was great !

  • What happened to the Acrobat Pro 9.x updates? I was doing them Friday and today they vanished.

There were many updates for Acrobat Pro 9 on the website last week and I was downloading and updating my copy. (I have a version that came with a scanner so I'm not inclined to buy a new version.) Now they vanished. Are they now somewhere else?

That's Adobe! There is no longer support for this product. I have CS4 Design Premium. After reinstall (in OSX 10.6) I got:
a not working Adobe Updater 6 in last version (incl. rights management patch). I think, they set it completely out of service.
hoped for the last versions of included CS4 apps via (still existing) download from Adobe Server, but they come in bloody 1st version (sic!), you get Acrobat 9.0.0
This is the Adobe document: End of support | Reader 9 and Acrobat 9 (and earlier)
That's unbelievable. The Acrobat 9 Pro Updates are security relevant and til 9.5.5 we payed for it!
What you can do (not Acrobat 9 Pro):
If you use a CS4 version: Try to install plugins, patches and updates manually (PS 11.0.2, ID 6.0.6 etc.)
Try to get an Acrobat X Box, Acrobat X updates are still online.

  • PDF explosion after Acrobat Pro 9.1 update

After updating to Acrobat Pro 9.1, one of my users (on a very strong, last gen Mac Pro) he cannot view any PDF's. When double-clicking to open a pdf, what appears to be every PDF he's ever opened pops up along with it, this continues until either Acrobat meets it's limit of open windows (at which time it asks you to close windows and then replaces those closed windows with more pdf's) or I force quit Acrobat. The same is true for every PDF (so it isn't specific to any PDF), and this does not occur when I set the default PDF viewer to Preview. Please help!
    Thanks,
    Max Gingold

I have had the same thing happen with Acrobat 8.1.2. I can't even open a PDF file (from mail or my old saved files) without a never-ending pop-up of my previously created PDFs until I force quit. I'm thinking it could be some preference, but haven't had any luck finding anything. Anyone... help?

  • Acrobat Pro 9.3 update killed the application???

Ever since I installed the 9.3 update acrobat won't open at all.  Acrobat reader opens just fine, but acrobat pro bounces once in the dock and then...nothing.  I tried reinstalling from the original cd and even that stalls.  I select acrobat for reinstallation and tell it to install and nothing happens.
    Any ideas out there?

My best is you have to remove all vestiges of Acrobat before re-installing. BTW, on the Mac Adobe recommends you not have Reader installed. When uninstalling Acrobat, make sure all preference files and application support files.

  • Deploy Acrobat Pro 9 with updates

    Hello,
I manage the system imaging and software deployment for a company with over 100 macs. I have written shell scripts that install the CS4 suite on a machine after it has been reimaged. The script then installs the updates for all the CS4 products except Acrobat Pro 9. That part works fine. The challenge I have now is that Acrobat Pro 9 has 400mb+ of updates and I can't script the installation of them. I don't want my helpdesk staff to manually go through the process of downloading and installing the updates on every machine that needs to be reimaged.
Before updates can be applied, the Acrobat Pro 9 has to be licensed. Doing that includes launching one of the other CS4 apps (e.g. Photoshop) first, then launching Acrobat Pro 9, clicking ok on various dialog boxes and then "accept" on the EULA. Once all that is done, I can script the installation of the updates (although, not as easily as the other CS4 apps).
In the windows world, there is an Acrobat customization tool that allows you to deploy the Acrobat without needing to accept the EULA. I haven't been able to find anything like that for the Mac.
Does anyone know how to get around this problem?
    Thank you for your help,
    Kevin

thanks for the push to getting a cache cleaner -- tried and will see if it keeps the problem in hand.

  • Acrobat Pro 8.0 Updating: Which is Correct Version?

My old system crashed and I reinstalled Acrobat Pro 8.0 (as part of CS3) on my Windows 7 PC.  I'm trying to update.
I found the link with the update files, but am having trouble figuring out which is the correct file to use for the very first update (from 8.9 to 8.1).  It lists these files:
    08/07/2007 12:00AM        931,192 Acro81OCRJ.exe 09/18/2007 12:00AM 83,310,592 AcrobatUpd810_aef_incr.msp
    09/18/2007 12:00AM     37,727,744 AcrobatUpd810_aeh_incr.msp
    09/28/2007 12:00AM     33,864,192 AcrobatUpd810_bres_incr.msp
    05/15/2007 12:00AM     36,777,984 AcrobatUpd810_cck_incr.msp
    08/06/2007 12:00AM     37,903,872 AcrobatUpd810_cpghs_incr.msp
    05/11/2007 12:00AM     37,983,232 AcrobatUpd810_efgj_incr.msp
    09/14/2007 12:00AM     33,637,376 AcrobatUpd810_elle_incr.msp
    05/15/2007 12:00AM     38,577,152 AcrobatUpd810_euro_incr.msp
    09/05/2007 12:00AM     34,662,912 AcrobatUpd810_heurt_incr.msp
None of these matches the naming format used for later updates.  All of the later updates use the format "AcrobatUpd8xx_all.incr.msp."  Is there an "..._all.msp" for the 8.0 to 8.1 update, or am I to select one of the above?  I'm in the U.S.
    Any help will be appreciated!

It should be the file named " AcrobatUpd810_efgj_incr.msp"

  • Installing acrobat pro to new computer without disk drive

i recently purchased a new mac that does not have a disc drive.  i'd like to install adobe acrobat from the disk that i purchased with my old computer.  how do i do this?  possible to get a download code to do from online?

You could copy the contents of that DVD to a Flash drive and then copy those contents from the Flash drive to your desktop of your new Mac. You could also download the ESD (Electronic Service Download ) of your version of Acrobat from the links below and then install it.
