Acrobat Pro 9 TextBox Text Sizing problems

I have recently installed Pro9 in my computer, previously I had Ver 6.
Before Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, I could insert a TextBox in any PDF file and format the text right on the spot (i.e. size, color, style).
Now with the new Pro 9, I can not edit the TextBox font. In order to change it I have to go another application and then do the changes there, then cut and paste into the PDF TextBox.
Is anyone else having this problem or is just my application? do you have any suggestions?
Thanks

Hi ,
This seems to be an issue specific to the file you are using . Does it happen for any file with tables ?
If possible can you please share the file converting which you encountered such behavior . Please also mention your OS ,version of Acrobat and MSOffice version .
Thanks,

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.2 blurry shadow problem

    Hi all,
This problem is very strange and just happened to me last week.
When I opened 1 PDF file, the problem didn't occured, but when I opened 2 or more PDF, this problem occured.
    This is the normal file
Open this image to have visual picture : http://140.116.5.200/~tisa/adobe_error/test.jpg
But after I scroll the PDF file (using the scroll in the right side) and then stop, slowly but sure, the PDF screen and font start to get blurry and blurry (you can see there is a diagonal line from upper left to the bottom right screen, the left screen is blurrer than the right screen)
Open this image2 to have visual picture : http://140.116.5.200/~tisa/adobe_error/test2.jpg
And if I highlight some of the text and scroll the mouse down, the screen will become unbelieable blurry, just like this.
Open this image3 to have visual picture : http://140.116.5.200/~tisa/adobe_error/test3.jpg
Thank you so much in advanced for helping... Already looking the answer for several days without any solution.
    What should I do ?
NB : I have try to uninstall and install this software but it still happened.
NB2 : I tried to install Acrobat Reader (free) and I got the same problem
NB3 : I changed my Adobe CS4 to CS5 several weeks agao. I don't know if this is the problem.

So.. If we want to control the "hardware graphics acceleration", should it be done inside the Adobe Acrobat Pro ?
If yes, which part of option should we changed ?
If not, can someone tell me which way to setting this one ?
Do anybody have other input ? This problem makes me crazy
Thank you so much in advanced.

  • Acrobat Pro 9.3.2 Update problem

Hi all. I am running CS5 on my Intel mac which is on system 10.5.8. Today I have updated to the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro. In my work I use the "Attach for email Review..." feature alot, to send off to our clients. Ever since I have updated to the latest version, this feature creates a black box where the instruction for use text goes when it creates an email to send off for review. I am using Mail, has anyone else had the same issue with this update?
    this is what happens...
this is what it should look like...

After you remove acrobat, Try booting your mahcine in Safe Boot mode first and then enable the root user and try to install Acrobat 9 followed by its updates.
Start in Safe Boot mode | Mac OS X : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/start-safe-boot-mode-mac.html

  • Acrobat Pro 6.0 - Text Box Properties: How-to change font / default

Inserting text box into an existing .pdf opened in Acrobat Pro ver. 6.0
Need to change font size to smallest. Right-clicking on field to open 'properties', clicking on 'Appearance' tab, BUT there is no choice for 'font'.
HOW DO I...change the font size in a text box?
HOW DO I...set the default to that font/size/color/border/fill?

You need to have the Properties Bar open (Ctrl + E), double-click on the text so you can select some of it, and you should see where you can specify the various font properties.

  • Acrobat Pro 10.1 AIP Install Problem

I have been pushing out Acrobat Pro to my users via Group Policy. I started with 10.0 and went to 10.0.1 and then 10.0.2 using the .msp patch files with no problem. I created a new AIP for 10.1 where I started with 10.0 and then applied the 10.1 patch. The problem is that on machines that already have the prior 10.0.2 AIP install, they get the error shown below. On an system that has never had Acrobat Pro installed from the original 10.0.2 AIP it works fine. Anyone else having the same problem?

We are facing the same problem now with 10.1.0 , and i still don't get the logic behind the new patching system. We are using SCCM to deploy the software to clients, so just linking to new sources is no option. This is also no-go because of the uninstall routines for the software.
And why the heck do i have to start over from the beginning every 3 month, when a quarterly patch is being released?
For version 9 i can patch the AIP with all regular patches in a row and update my distribution points, so new installations are on a good patch level. Security patches are installed through a seperate task sequence. This works like a charm.
The only way i see is always to use the base 10.0.0 msi and streamline it with the latest quarterly patch, followed by security updates, during installation.
Shame on you Adobe, this ain't a  step forward but 2 backward. Patching Acrobat Products was never fun, but now it bacame a punishment.
Quarterly updates are always cumulative? Now really? Have you guys realized that the patches get blown up more and more every time? How big are they going to be in let's say 2 years? About 500 MB? This is what i call wasting ressources.
They got bashed for the patch orgies for home users during new installations, and came up with a home user solution for everyone. Cangrats Adobe, well done! (not)

  • Acrobat Pro X changing text to boxes when saving

Have a fully patched Pro X installation on a Win XP machine. Working with a PDF created outside our company. If we make minor changes to the PDF, no matter what they are, and try to save, some of the text is changed to "boxes" similar to how a print job looks when using bad drivers. Only a specific font is changed - all other text saves normally. What would cause this?

I am having the same problem with a pdf I created from a Word document.  I am using a Mac and Adobe XI.  There are no images missing and the xs-in-boxes aren't even quite aligned with the text.  They also only happen erratically to text that was originally in Word and also to text that I edit in the pdf.  They can be deleted with some care but I am concerned that I keep discovering new ones every time I save the document, close it and reopen it.  I am working in Archer Book and it is embedded in the pdf.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 Extended Web Capture Problem

There are three different ways to convert a web page to .pdf that I am aware of.  I have used the first for several years but it has stopped working.  The second now has corrupt fonts.  The third still works.  I have repaired Acrobat to no avail - does anyone have an idea of what might have happened?

Since there were no answers, I will take a stab at a reponse. For the 2nd method, I suspect you could simply select the print or press job options to get the desired results or turn off "use local fonts" in Acrobat. If you check the font list, the fonts are probably not embedded and that is likely the problem.
I noticed that you have both Reader and Acrobat installed and that might cause some conflict, but should not be the issue here. If you were to uninstall Reader, you would have to repair Acrobat. The conflict here is that you might have problems with the one opening when you want the other. If it works for you, then don't worry about it.
For technique 1, I suspect you may be using IE 9 that has apparently been a problem since it came out. I have refused to install it. However, it may simply be that PDF Maker does not work correctly with your browser, or got deactivated and needs to be allowed to run in your browser (IE I am assuming).

  • Acrobat Pro. 7.1.0 problem with Windows 7

    Hello,
I recently upgraded my desktop to Windows 7 64 bit.  Prior to that, I had been running Vista Home Premium 64 bit.
Acrobat runs, and I can read Acrobat documents, so that is working.  However, when I go to "Devices and Printers",
I don't have the Acrobat Writer available to me.  I tried re-installing, and got an error message that it could not
add the printer (something about it couldn't access the Program (x86) folder to install an Adobe.dll file).  So, I
was wondering if anyone else has encountered this.  It seems that Windows 7 "protects" itself in certain ways
which won't allow programs access to folders needed to install correctly.  Haven't been running Windows 7
too long (since beginning of the year), so have lots to learn about this OS.
    Thanks for any help/suggestions.

In Windows 7 you will need Acrobat Reader / Acrobat version 9.2 or better.
    Be well...

  • Acrobat Pro 11.0.9 print problem with Yosemite OS X 10.10

I can no longer print 2d barcodes generated by USPS Click-and Ship website after upgrading to Yosemite 10.10.  The PDF on my display shows the 2d barcode, but when sending it to either a Brother printer or an HP printer, the word "Button" appears instead of the barcode.
When I open the PDF from a computer running Acrobat 11.0.9 on OS X 10.9, it prints properly.

Yes this is a ridiculous annoyance. I have found two work-a-rounds......firstly by using my iPad. I got the document onto the iPad from my iMac using dropbox. Then used an iPad printer app to print the pdf via my wifi printer.
The other way was to send the document to a friend and get him to print it for me!!!!!!

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro XI problems printing PDFs created from AutoCAD.

Just installed Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and am having problems printing PDFs created from AutoCAD.  Printing other PDF created by MS Word works well.  Had a similar problem in an earlier version of Pro.  The fix I figure out then was to print the PDF file as another PDF.  Using the second PDF to print to a plotter typically worked.  It does not work for Adoabe Acrobat Pro XI.

  • How to access a missing font in Acrobat PRo XI

I am editing a PDF using a trial version of Adobe Acrobat Pro.  The text font in the PDF is Zurich BT.  However, that font displayed below the Format DDLB, but greyed out so it cannot be clicked upon.  Instead, Adobe has replaced Zurich BT with Minion Pro.  How can I get the Zurich BT fond made available for my use?  Do I have to download and add this font?
You can see from this image clipping that when I change the address to the new location this text appears in Minion Pro, not Zurich BT.

You also have to be careful with fonts. The font you download may be the same name, but a different font. Just because you find a Zurich BT font, does not mean it is the same. If you search on the internet, there are several sources of some Zurich BT fonts free. However, they may or may not be the same font. Editing is best done on the original document and not the PDF. One of the PDFs I found on the Landis site was only in Zurich font. I would think that the original file is available from the company and that should be the document you edit, not the PDF. It appears the original was created in InDesign (CS3).
