Acrobat Pro asks for serial number after update while being part of CS4 package

Hello, frustrating: I installed CS4 on a new Mac as the old one wasn't fast enough anymore. I deactivated the package (Master collection) on the old one, and activated it on the new one.
Everything works fine. Then there was Adobe updater, updating Acrobat pro. No problem.
But when it launches, it asks for a serial number. And my CS 4 number doesn't work on this. Weird, it seems the Acrobat pro isn't linked to the master collection anymore ? But we did nothing
with the software, just ran the update as suggested by Adobe updater.
PLEASE HELP! as we cannot use Acrobat Pro now and we need to use it!!!

Hi,
I suppose you have installed Creative Cloud Desktop App, or Latest Adobe Application Manager (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773).
You can also try following steps:
Launch the product
On Trial Screen click on License this software
On Sign in Screen, click on “Not My Adobe ID” (if displayed), else click on signin (do this even if it shows a valid ID).
Sign in with your Adobe Id
Software should now be lincensed.
Can you please share your adobeID and mail oobelib.log and amt3.log from %temp% on Windows, or /tmp in Mac, if it is still not working to [email protected]

I know this has been asked before, but I'm wondering if there is a solution other than erasing my hard drive etc. I had to do a re-install of my system 10.5.8 and I upgraded to 9.1.3 and now Logic keeps asking for serial number after every shut down (not if I only quit). any ideas?

Thanks for your response. I had already re-installed my OS because computer wouldn't boot up. I had downloaded Onyx and run it which I think was the start of my problems including the missing serial number - so it was looking for serial number even before my upgrade to 9.1.3. I could not find anything called a reg keyfile in either my user or startup disk /Library/Preferences/. When I put in my serial number, I can boot and quit as many times as I want until I shut down.
Here are the 3 console messages that appear when I try to boot up and they are the same that come up after shutting down or on a launch which does NOT ask for serial number:

I purchased Premiere Pro CC last night. After downloading, it is asking for a serial number. But, I can not find a serial number at all in my order. Asked someone on chat, and they said something was wrong with the program, but then we lost a connection. Please help!!

ARD asking for Serial Number after Upgrade to OSX 10.9 and ARD 3.7?

Hello All,
I bought ARD 3.6.1 back in 2012 from MAC Store. Yesterday, I decided to upgrade to OSX Mavericks and the upgrade forced ARD to update to 3.7 from 3.6.1 and now ARD is asking for serial number... Never had a Serial Number since I bought it from Mac Store. Anyone with same problem?

App Store Update says I have 3.7 already installed.

Not sure how that would happen but you should be able to revert to the Mac App Store version with the following steps:
1. Launch the App Store app
2. Go to the Purchases secton and verify that Apple Remote Desktop is showing in your list
3. Assuming it's in your list, delete Remote Desktop.app from /Applications
4. Verify that Remote Desktop.app is not installed on any other mounted volumes using Spotlight
5. If it is installed then either unmount those volumes or delete the app from those other locations
6. Go back to the Purchases section of the App Store app
7. If Apple Remote Desktop is shown as "Installed" then select "Reload Page" from the "Store" menu
8. The entry for Apple Remote Desktop should now give you the option to "Install"
9. Click "Install"
After installation you should have the correct Mac App Store version that does not prompt for a serial number.

Aperture now asks for serial number after last update but app store doesn't provide one. What to do?

After my latest update Aperture now asks for a serial number.
This is a little strange as when you buy it from the app store you don't get one.
Well not one you can see.
So now can't use it.
What am I supposed to do?

Acrobat X Pro asks for serial number @ startup.

Since joining Creatve Cloud, every day when I open Acrobat X Pro, it asks for the CS6 serial number. Does anyone know how to stop it? It was never a problem before CC.

Creative Suite 6 now asking for serial number after minor updates

I bought the full version of Creative Suite 6 on release.
Just recently after installing some (but in typical Adobe fashion not all) updates, apps from the suite start up by saying that I am in a 30 day trial!
I have to then press the license button and reenter my serial number.
This never happened prior to the last few weeks.
I tried asking about it on the online chat since Adobe's phone lines are jammed.
This was very much like talking to a wall.
Is this happening to anyone else?

2 out of our 4 iMacs running CS6 are reverting to trial status every morning - despite saying it's accepted the serial number properly, up it pops the next day again! Doesn't just affect Photoshop CS6, we had the same message after launching Illustrator CS6 and InDesign CS6 too. Must be one of these updates that popped up last week, I do wish Adobe tested these things properly before rolling them out to paying customers!!

Asked for serial number after migration to new computer

I did a migration to a new MacBook pro from my old iMac and now Aperture is asking me for the serial number.
I thought using the Apple migration would take care of the complete migration.
This is the only SW that I have noticed that have this issue. All other of my licensed SW is working just fine after the migration.

FCP asks for serial number after OSX 10.5.4 install.

We're using a dual PPC desktop Mac with FC Pro. Under OSX 10.3.9, worked fine. Installed OSX 10.5.4 and now, every time we open FCPro, it asks for a serial number as though it was just installed.
How can we stop this happening?

CS3 Suddenly asking for serial number after 2 years of use.

I have been using CS3 for two years on a daily basis and suddenly it is asking me to input my serial number as if I was installing it for the first time. When I input my serial number it says it is invalid. I am unable to access any application in CS3. Does anyone know why this is happening and what I can do to stop it. This is my job. I need access to the software that I paid for.

Asking for Serial Number after Apple Remote Desktop package installation.

Hello guys,
I just finish making a package of Sketchup 6, it works fine and everything but is asking me to enter the serial number and this is after i have already enter the serial number before i made the package......correct me if I'm wrong but i thought that when u make the package it would keep that information, I know i copy all the files and checked the permissions many times so I'm not sure what is it that I'm doing wrong, can anyone help me pls and thank you in advance.

Some software keeps it's serial number in a hidden file that can be very difficult to locate. If you're not including that file in the package, that would explain the problem. You might want to ask the developer of the product about this; they might be able to help you with a workaround.

Asking for serial number at update

I have the CC subscription and am trying unsuccessfully to update Lightroom. It is now prompting me for a serial number, which I do not have. It has locked me out of Lightroom and I can't access it at all. Stuck at the serial number page. Please advise.

If you do have the CC subscription for both LR and PS just close LR, Open the Creative Cloud app and it should authenticate your install as valid and then give you access to it. If in the CC app it still lists an Update for LR click on that to install from the CC app and you should be good to go.

I don't work for Adobe but it seems to me you might be signing in to Acrobat with the wrong Adobe ID.
Check the Adobe ID you use in Acrobat.
Check this Adobe ID on Adobe's to make sure that it has an active subscription.
